Central Texas Theatre at Vive Les Arts Societe

Annie the musical was amazing. The set was beautiful and so well put together and beautiful, plus all of the set changes were clean. The voices of everyone was so beautiful and even though Annie’s mic fell off you could still hear her singing. The house interaction of the cast was cool, I loved how they all came in through the side doors making it feel like we were a part of the play.

Jami has created a place where everyone is welcome and made to feel special. Sidney is extremely friendly and timely with responding and can help with everything. All the different casting directors, stage managers, choreographers, and musical directors are so good about giving new comers a chance and opportunity to shine! They have a way of pulling out the confidence and personality of those shy kids and making them shine. They keep the love of theatre and acting alive in them! This place has given my kids a safe haven to hone their skills, learn new things like tech, and even teaching my 12 year old how to do cashiering. It’s a place kids can get their community service hours and volunteer work at. My kids have a tight knit friends group from here where all the kids accept everyone- no matter what! I personally am grateful to this place for everything they have done. Michelle keeps that place clean despite having 50 kids there every week during the children’s shows! They have a concessions and bar for donations only that is fully stocked and the volunteers are extremely nice and friendly! It’s the only theatre I know that puts on a full jam packed year of productions! The children’s shows are also totally free to be in- which is almost unheard of. I’d encourage everyone to support this local community theatre! This year is its 50th anniversary and with local support- it can be open another 50 years! This next seasons line up is going to be so much fun! Definitely check out the web site to see what they are doing and how to get involved! Fresh faces are always welcome! I’m just a parent with kids there but I’ve seen the impact it’s had on them the last 6 years we’ve been here and I just felt compelled to write this review because I feel that every kid and adult should experience this!

I'm not a theater person, preferring movies to plays/musicals, but the friends group enjoys going to these and when they invite me, i always enjoy it. I could use bigger drinks and popcorn at the concessions, but that is because I am an uncultured nerd. Aside from that, I've enjoyed the shows seen here and the cast usually seems fun during the audience's departure.

I loved the show! The talent was amazing!! My favorite part was for sure the tap dancing scenes!! Had a great time!!

Actors did a good job. Nice seats in the theater. They need to update their sound system. I could hear them but couldn't understand about half of what was said.

I love this theater so much, it’s just a beautiful place where you’ll always feel like family and the shows are always spectacular and bigger than life and prices are reasonable, would 100% recommend seeing some shows there!!!

We absolutely loved "The Drowsy Chaperone" at the Central Texas Theatre! Fantastic show with incredible talent! It was my first time to experience this theatre and it will definitely not be my last. I came with three friends and we all were very impressed. What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Look up what they are doing and attend something here - you will like it. In March Tim Hawkins will be putting on a show - he is a "clean comedian" that is family friendly - you gotta go!

It was my first visit to Vive Les Arts Theatre this past Saturday to see a production of HAIRSPRAY! It was fantastic. I have seen "Hairspray" about 4 or 5 times before buts it's such a fun show and this production wasn't any different. The talent amongst the actors was amazing. The facility were nice & clean. I can't wait to look up their schedule and plan my next visit! I'll definitely be back!

I love local theater and when you know the players it's phenomenally better!

We went to see Mary Poppins last night. It was super! The show was a bit long but very impressed with stage scenery and characters. The singing and music were wonderful too. We got there about 6:45 and doors still not open to theatre. The lobby was too crowded. They also had a table with a raffle item that was plunked right at the front. It caused too much congestion. The other table was by box office and caused congestion. Overall it was a great experience.

VLA is such a fun place! They put on really high quality productions, more so than you'd expect from a community theater...especially in little ol' Killeen. They also have lots of activities for kids and they do a FREE showing for military families on the night before each show opens. It's amazing to see so many talented people from our community!

Loved it! The volunteers and employees were super helpful. The lobby is decorated with original abstract paintings. The food before and during intermission was a perfect little snack. We saw the Story of Scrooge, and it was super professional. Just amazing. will we definitely be back.

I was looking for a Venue to take my play to in September ,a friend told me about Killeen. I search the area for Venues and found Vive Les Arts Theatre, I called and the staff was incredible friendly, Traci and her supervisor in customer service was excellent, they answered all my questions and went far and beyond to make my Venue affordable. I was also given some names and businesses that would target my audience. The prices are great, and the contract was kept simple and free of a lot of fine print do's and don't. I hear the facility is nice and clean. I am looking forward to visiting the facility in August before the show. I know I will be doing another review after the show in September. NMGM Production.

I have always enjoyed the VLA plays and musicals. Each show has a different personality. Most are just wonderful. Don't let one show judge the others. The recent Boing Boing was great. A past show of Beauty and the Beast was Awesome. and the set was superb. I will be going to Camp rock The Musical on May 7th. I expect it to be very good. Will report back.

According to this group, they are book all they way! its great if you look at the financial but what about other groups that need the facility no chance at all very selfish.

Vive Les Arts is top notch for community theater. I've gone to several shows, and was inspired to be in one in the Spring. The musicals are my favorite, but all the shows are done very well. They also have children's theater.

Attended Wonderettes: Dream On musical last night and was thoroughly entertained! The cast proved that local talent exists in our community. Singing was great, story told well, acting was spot on, and lastly the 60's and 70's dancing was fun to watch. Thanks Vive Les Arts Theatre group for putting on a delightful show. Good to have the theatre back into production.

Very disappointed with the production of Beehive. This group needed much more practice. The dancing was not very good. The timing was off and the dancers were not in sync. Much of the singing was off key. It was so bad that I left during the intermission.... This visit was my first since the change in management. I won't be back.
