Martin Juneau’s Pastaga Is Here to Fancy Up the Rockland Centre | Eater Montreal

"The mall recently completed about $10 million of work to wipe clean and repopulate its food court, rebranding it La Cuisine and aiming for a more luxurious, less chain- and bain-marie-oriented vibe; I noticed it still houses some chains like A&W and Thai Express but has added fancier tenants such as Mile End salad bar Liv, pizzerias No 900 and Baccaro, and Duck Truck. From my perspective, the overhaul signals a push to attract new audiences and give restaurateurs room to experiment, though there’s also a risk that the hyper-commercial mall environment could push concepts toward a profit-first, corporate model rather than preserve their original trappings." - Tim Forster

Vegetarian Barbecue Now Exists In Montreal Courtesy of Le Boucan | Eater Montreal

"In the Town of Mount Royal I saw that the Rockland Centre is substantially renovating its food court to strip away the typical cookie-cutter mall vibe: the plan includes a space for food trucks and a push to bring higher-quality dining options into the mall instead of the usual Subways and C-list chains." - Tim Forster

The layout is clean and easy to navigate, with a nice balance of well-known brands, specialty shops, and practical services. Over the years, the renovations have kept the space modern and bright, making it pleasant to visit whether you’re on a quick errand or spending a leisurely afternoon browsing. Parking with both indoor and outdoor options, which is a big plus in our unpredictable weather. The food court offers a good variety, and there are some good sit-down dining options for when you want something a little more relaxed. One thing I particularly like is how the centre manages to stay lively without feeling overcrowded—weekends are busy, but it rarely feels chaotic.

Google
Great place for shopping 🛍 . We visited over the weekend, it was not much crowded. There are a lot of options for shopping and eating. The building is very attractive, clean and well designed 👌 On the other side of the road, it's Marche Central.

Google
It's a little sad. This shopping center is trying its hardest to go upscale. With all the renovations and the fancy and expensive boutiques. Minimal restaurant choices in the cafeteria. Meanwhile, half the stores are closed and empty. I remember the renovations from 25 years ago too. The rents went up and a lot of great stores and restaurants could no longer afford to be there. But at least it's not so overcrowded.

Google
Quite a few closed and empty stores. However the ones still there were good. A few great little boutiques for Women's wear, especially event oriented. Lovely boutiques with Italian imports. Staff was phenomenal.

Google
Rockland Center is another one of the typical Canadian shopping centers where all the Canadian brands are available.

Google
This used to be a much nicer mall but it has gone down hill. The parking garage is a little dark and creepy, the entrance into the mall from the parking lot is limited. The stores on the lower level aren't connected so I had to go upstairs just to walk to the other end of the mall and then take another staircase back down. Afterwards I had to do the same thing in reverse to get back out. In the end I didn't find what I was looking for so it really wasn't worth the effort. I won't be going there again anytime soon.

I always find what i need. I went for a fragrance and some groceries. Got everything that i wanted in less than an hour. Not quite busy despite being a friday afternoon.

Google
A classic mall in Town of Mount-Royal with a variety of nice boutiques with my favorites being Banana Republic and Guess. A bonus: It is actually more easily accessible with bus and metro transportation than it seems.

Yelp
Love Rockland been coming here for years. Decent selection of stores got my Jack and Jones, Zara, H&M and Ernest just to name a few. they use to have one of the better SAQ's around but they've downsized it. Food court is so much better than it use to be. Enjoyed a meal at Souvlaki Bar and Grillades Torino. The sausage bowl was good and had lots of items inside of it, such as rice, lettuce, corn, olives, pickled peppers, pickles, spicy mayo, garlic sauce, onions and more. The chicken souvlaki from Souvlaki Bar was some of the best chicken I've had, great taste and the pita was also very good.

Yelp
did all the research before booking myself and my wife with Dr Roy as he was referred to us! Wow was this a bad mistake. We both had back issues. I was more concerned about my wife than myself. We made THREE trips to Montreal $'s and two to Dr Roy. My wife had injections to AVOID SUGERY that lasted two weeks. She was told by Dr Roy that if this didn't work he had other options he could try. Pain is back full tilt! Called Dr Roy and they wouldn't let me get through to him for my wife. She's having bad side effects. So I go online to make another appointment! A very very rude male nurse calls her to only LECTURE her on the Dr's Position. He only does injections and does not follow up on patients or call them she was TOLD. So we don't get to here what the other options were and why she's having these severe side effects that she's never ever had before. What a coincidence. We flew three times to Montreal to see a specialist only to get a rude nurse trying to pass her off. Told her to see her own Dr here in Sydney. My pain for myself is healing both neck and back so I'm the lucky one. I paid $750 for a five minute talk with a promised follow up call when he received my spine MRI. By email, LONG STORY but no call was made the rude male nurse flicked me off.I really don't care about myself and getting ripped off $750 what I care about is my poor wife that is now experiencing 9/10 pain and being talk to rudely by a nurse who couldn't care less. Sorry to rant but the general public should be aware. We are back to the drawing board after me putting all my faith into Rockland clinics. Very disheartening and disappointed! I TRUSTED THEM.

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend come shopping together here very often. All I have to say is we had the worst experience ever recently. There is black sales associate at Bikini Village who was extremely disrespectful. She snaps her fingers at clients and the way she speaks was extremely bossy! She was trying to be helpful and tried to ask my girlfriend if she needed help. But my girlfriend didn't hear her (I saw), the sales associate just stared with big eyes at her coworker like "Ugh, EXCUUUSE ME?". She feels so entitled and feels like she runs the place. I think the manager should address these issues. It's unacceptable. I'm not coming at to this Bikini Village ever again.

Yelp
I went to day for the first time (I've lived here my whole life and I've never been as I really don't like shopping very much). Wow, so fancy! They must cater to some fancy folks - they have nanny services and dogsitting services. The place is lovely, the stores are high end, the food court is beautifully designed. I didn't buy anything but it was fun to walk around.

Yelp
This is your standard mall with high end stores such as Michael Kors, and some other local stores such as Roots. The mall is clean and neat. Parking is plentiful. Bathrooms are clean.

Yelp
Hmmm so to be fair, the mall seems to be in the middle of a big renovation, so I return and revise my rating once it's finished... right now I am hangry because there is essentially nowhere to eat here except a Starbucks cafe and a sit down restaurant that I didn't have time for. The food court is completely closed. Even the Mandy's food truck is gone. There's a decent selection of clothing stores, mid to high range. I came here because I had to return something I bought online to the Karen Millen store. Five stars for Karen Millen. Wonderful friendly helpful service and beautiful clothes and shoes. There used to be more kids stores here that seem to be gone, maybe because of the renovations? Was looking for a birthday gift for a little one but left empty handed. Lots of indoor/outdoor parking which is great. Summary: nice stores but limited selection and nowhere to eat right now. Will revisit in the fall and hope for improvements.

Yelp
A very pretty shopping center with several high-quality outlets and good food court. Not really the place you go to to find deals though. Lots of parking space, never had problems parking my car.. Don't leave here during rush hour as the local traffic is absolutely disgustingly busy. I still remember being stuck for 45+ minutes to drive 200 meters to the highway.
google avatar

Justine S.

Yelp
It's a swanky mall but it's not the best mall. The selection is just ok and if you're looking for good deals, it falls short. I remember coming here a lot when I was a teenager because it's a good mall for just some light shopping, but there are so many more options downtown that coming here just felt boring. I still feel like it's boring, but sometimes it's closer than downtown and it's safer.

Yelp
Malls are becoming a thing of the past but the one I consistently visit is Centre Rockland. It has a bit of a "Townie" vibe but I like coming here when I'm not sure what I want or to try something on before buying. They recently remodeled several areas to make it more upscale than before. The food court has been redesigned and includes enough selections for the pickiest people. There's also a pizza restaurant (No. 900) and Eggspectations on site.

Yelp
I met a physio there who assured me that everything will be fine and fix my problem. I had mentioned I had knots in my back and he mention after the first session with in the first week doing the exercises, I be 30% better. Five weeks later, the pain has magnified 100% And they have done nothing, but tell me just keep on doing exercises when I keep telling him that I have knots in my bqck and it does NOT need reinforcing. What they want, is for  you to go on a weekly basis and to have a constant income come in they don't care about you. They don't try to fix you. They just keep you hanging on and giving you fake hope. STAY AWAY and save your hard earned money

Yelp
Paid $500.00 for this Rudsak, (a Canadian company,)coat at macy's and by the second season the fabric along all zippers and piping peeled off. This is clearly a defective product. I contacted "Customer Service TeaSuperviseur d'équipe service à la clientèle/ Customer Service Team Supervisorm Supervisor",Anna who was completely useless. Long story short, because the coat was purchased in the U.S. I am out of luck. They have a store in Hudson yard in the city, my advice steer clear of this company. They sell inferior products at expensive prices.

Yelp
Rockland is your typical shopping mall. It has got the stores you would expect to find in most malls. You can expect a decent amount of higher-end stores here like BCBG and Michael Kors so this is probably not the place to come if you are on a budget or looking to score a deal. The food court is as good as any other shopping mall. As others have pointed out the location could be better. If you are trying to come or go during rush hour you can expect some traffic frustrations. If I do come here I try to come on a weekend morning when there is no traffic so I can get in and out without hassle.

Yelp
Dog owners- you'll want to read this. Rockland accepts dogs now! That's right- next time the temperature hits minus 30 you can come here with your dog and shop til you drop. The only place your furry friend can't access is the recently renovated, jaw-droppingly gorgeous food court, but for $5 an hour the new pet store Chien Mondain can dogsit your bff. We spent a few hours here on a Saturday afternoon and my dog had so much fun. Everyone, shoppers and employees alike, were so nice to him and we really felt welcomed. I hope other malls will follow Rockland's example!

Yelp
Being an avid shopper, I strive to check out all the potential places one can possibly perform such an activity where ever I happen to live. Although Rockland is annoying to get to sometimes (don't even think about trying to go during rush hour..or high construction times..which is 100% of the time in this city), it is a very nice place to shop. Clean, modern, and full of options ranging from the normal H&M type stores, to the Laura/Melanie Lynn type stores, to the higher ends one like Michael Kors. Not to mention, they also have a La Baie (beware, no furniture section in this one!). They have a decent food court with very nice furnishings and an OK selection of restaurants to pick from. Overall, a cool place to shop...if you can ever get there.

Yelp
I live downtown so I don't need to come this far to shop. But I did, today, and I was pleasantly surprised. The Rockland Centre is quite large, clean, and has a lot of great stores, shops, and restaurants to offer you - men, women, children, and even our lovely furry friends! I always imagined it would be old and run down, but not at all. I think I just have this flawed perception that anything beyond downtown is part of the stone age. Next time I'm asked to go out there, I probably won't kick and whine so much!

Yelp
Nice shopping mall next to freeway 15 and 40 . It has indoor parking which is essential during the winter time. try to avoid going there during the rush hours as the traffic could get very bad. Wish it has more choices in food court area.

Risa D.

Yelp
Classy mall with marble floors and chandeliers and oversized couches in the food court. It's brightly lit and expansive and full of a good mix of higher end stores, Sephora, Birks, Michael Kors, Browns, as well as your H&Ms and Zaras and Stokes. They also have Vie En Rose, La Senza and La Perla so fun for the sexy shopping times. It's clean and caters to the TMR moms and their kids, ie; designed for long slow browses, back to school sprees, and shopping for formal occasions. Definitely oriented towards the cars and not pedestrians, definitely a big box on the side of a highway. So not particularly soul-enriching but definitely soothing in the retail therapy, floating in a shiney suburbubbley type way.

Yelp
I really loved it,but when the dogs were allowed in i started feel like we are in the zoo.i no longer want to go to it again specially with my kids

Yelp
A more high end mall just on the N boundary of Montreal right on the cusp of the 15 and 40. Check out the SAQ as it's one of the best wine selections for SAQ in Montreal!

Alessandro V.

Yelp
In the center there is this stand called ITech Accessories and i can tell you, their custommer support isnt the best, their prices are over the top and ive had a case for 2 days and they told me to go at the consumer office because they said they cant do anything for me, the case literally broke in pocket (i can understand if i broke it,but i did not) dont go buy your phone stuff there (cases and screen protectors) it is not worth the hassle and time!
