What a great little gem for a fun activity with family and/or friends! While they do accept walk-ins, I recommend scheduling an appointment. Due to its size, it can get crowded pretty quickly, especially on weekends. Parking behind the building can also be limited but there's another lot closer by if needed; just a short walk. They had several pieces to choose from; some functional (containers, mugs, and plates) and some decorative (cats, dragons, gnomes, etc.). Prices are clear for each item before you start painting. Staff is knowledgeable and informaive on paint types and provide all of the supplies. They are quick to help, but if it's crowded, be patient; they are doing their best. We were there during a birthday party in the back, and I could tell they were stretched pretty thin. Overall, a really fun experience. Our family is already planning their pieces for our next visit.

Google
Such a cute place! The staff was incredibly patient and helpful when I was there this past Sunday. The pieces were reasonably priced and there was a wonderful assortment of things to choose from. There was also a pretty substantial collection of paints. I had a wonderful time and would definitely come again

Had so much fun at the ceramic lodge! We spent a good few hours painting our pieces and enjoyed lovely conversation with the employees. Very friendly, helpful, and kind staff. Good selection of pottery to paint as well as paints and brushes.

Google
Phenomenal place!!! My family and I used to go to a similar style place in another town, and we had missed getting to go. Little did I know that a random google search would bring us to this fun, adorable cottage, where prices are affordable and art flows freely (I’ve done this kind of thing before and I thought pricing was INCREDIBLY reasonable for sizes of ceramics). My 12 & 15 year old who can’t agree on anything had an amazing time, and even though we took forever and stayed past close on a Friday night, the staff member on hand was gracious and helpful the whole evening. We cannot wait to see our finished pieces and are already planning our next trip (and what we’ll paint next!)! Parking is a bit sketch but we loved it, so much!!!

Amazing place! The staff is so sweet and helped out to understand how to work the place, it’s a very peaceful environment and very cozy if you’re just bored. The paints are so pretty and blend together so well as well.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a cute little small business hole in wall. And this place nails that! Plus, I may be a little biased because my parents used to run a paint it yourself ceramic shop when I was growing up. So places like this are very nostalgic for me. It's very small on the inside, compared to other do-it-yourself ceramic shops that I've been to. But honestly, I found that quite quaint and cozy. I find that their ceramic pieces were pretty affordable compared to some of the other ceramic shops I've been to in Austin. They have their paints separated by brights and detailed versus more earthy tone colors. And unfortunately, they tell you that you shouldn't mix them because they won't come out looking good. So you have to figure out what you want your piece to look like before hand, bright with small details? Or more earthy tones? My husband went with the bright and details, while my friend and I decided to go for earthy tones. My husband painted a wall switch plate, I painted a feather bowl, and my friend painted a mug. They were all done and ready to be picked up about a week and a half later. And they came out great! I enjoyed myself, and my husband and I have already discussed coming back perhaps for a date day :)

Yelp
Great selection of paint colors, fast turnaround time after firing, friendly and helpful staff

Yelp
I've been going here since I was a little girl, and it is still a lovely calming experience. Highly recommend for any age group!

Vidya N.

Yelp
The girls working are really nice and painting my pottery was a fun and inexpensive activity

Lindsay H.

Yelp
The past few times I've visited, the same woman has been there.(I assume she is the owner). She is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There are lots of fun options to choose from, to paint, and a decent amount of supplies to use. The turn around time to get my finished/fired pieces was less than the week I was anticipating. I recommend bringing someone here for a nice hands-on activity and it's still quiet enough to have a conversation.

Yelp
Great for kids! I had my daughter's party here and she loved it! The staff was friendly and very helpful!

Yelp
Such a CUTE spot! Family owned feel like a little coffee shop vibe from a movie just a fun place to hangout and paint In groups , alone or w/ a friend I brought my grandma for a girls day and we had a ball Several things to pick from w/ a wide range on pricing so there is something for everyone Lots of different colors to pick from n pretty self explanatory once u start (I know someone didn't like the face they used a sponge to wipe brushes ,.. we in fact loved the idea and my grandma who has been painting for decades loved it and found it so useful) Definitely a gem not to miss out on visiting

Yelp
Love this place. Their extended business hours are well thought through to accommodate all kinds of schedules. This place attracts people of all ages, kids, adults, elderly, kids parties, ... will go there again for sure.

Yelp
Enjoyed having a date here with my boyfriend. They had a nice selection of pieces to choose from and lots of paint colors. Definitely recommend visiting :)

Yelp
My mom was in town babysitting my niece and nephew. We decided to go to Ceramic Lodge along with my sister. I have been here twice before so decided it was time to post a review. If you are looking for a crafty thing to do inside and like to paint, go to this place stat!! You can pick a piece to paint...and there are TONS from which to choose. There are small pieces and large pieces. You then pick your paints and brushes and sit at a table and paint. It's really relaxing and a fun way to spend a hot summer day. The person that helped us was very friendly and super helpful. After you paint your piece, you pay and they will put your piece in a kiln and call you when it is fired and ready. I always have a fun time here...whether I'm with my niece and nephew or with friends. Check it out!

Becky J.

Yelp
Charming little shop and nice ladies help you relax, have fun and paint your piece! Great date night!

Yelp
I had a nice time painting here, but I was disappointed by the limited selection of items and the high prices for even the smallest ceramics. I've been to a venue with a similar concept with greater variety and lower prices. The staff wasn't attentive. They spent more time talking and eating than making sure we were receiving sufficient attention. I had an okay experience but I probably wouldn't bother coming back.
google avatar

Tina M.

Yelp
I took my girlfriend in town from las vegas here and we had a great time. You don't have to make a reservation to go you can simply walk in. There's a good selection of crafts to choose from like blank canvases to ceramic pieces... I'll definitely come back.

Yelp
We went in as a group on a Saturday. Not a busy Saturday, just a day. We paid for 6 pieces and were told we'd be called when they were done. Five days later they were done. But. Not. All. There were four pieces done and two that wouldn't be ready for another day or so. After making a trip in from Austin to pick them up, I was told they would call me when they were ready. And the girl said sorry. When I asked why they didn't fire them all together? sorry. But sorry/not sorry. Now I have to make a second trip to pick up ceramics for kids and they really couldn't care less if I'm upset. It's a small business. I get that, but don't call people when their items aren't done. And if there's a problem, act like you give a shit. Harsh review? sorry

Yelp
What a cute and fun place this is! I recently visited the Ceramic Lodge to help create a class auction project for my daughters 1st grade class. Patsy is absolutely wonderful! She answered all my questions and gave me advice and pointers while creating this project. I was able to rent out the paints and brushes to get the students finger prints before returning to complete the bowl. We will definitely be returning!

Yelp
SUCH a positive experience! Audra was truly the nicest, most helpful employee I've ever met. If I were ever a business owner, I hope that I could have an employee like Audra! The facilities were cute and comfortable and there are many projects to choose from. Two thumbs way up- we will return!

Yelp
Went a few fridays ago in the middle of the day and had a lot of fun! There was a great variety of items to choose from and the owner (employee?) was very nice. It's a really chill environment, great place to hang out.

Yelp
Had a really great time painting my "meow" plate with my friends. The young lady who runs the business is fantastic! She is knowledgeable and very helpful. She is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable.

Gerri G.

Yelp
This place isn't what it use to be. It has new owners and they aren't doing a good job of running it. They have no paper towels to clean brushes. They say just use the sponges which are DISCUSTING. Filthy and totally stained with paint. The fibers come off on the piece when you are cleaning it. The studio is dirty as well. I will not go here again. Too bad it use to be a great place to paint ceramics.

Yelp
Went here mid day Tuesday (a little after 1) nobody was there all the doors were locked. I waited there till 2 and tried to go in, all doors locked. I called no answer and I just called again 2:45 and still no answer. There was not a sign in the door saying gone to lunch or anything. Not they way to conduct a business or gain/ keep customers UPDATE: Today I got a sincere voicemail from patty I believe. She explained that they close on Tuesdays in the fall. I went in and spent almost 3 hours painting. It was a calm soothing environment and patty was very kind. The hours were changed on the door I went in so on top of their welcoming attitude they quickly made sure there would be no more confusion. I will definitely be back.. but not on a Tuesday

Yelp
Y'all, this is such a cute spot! I must say, it's easy to drive by the place without realizing it, so keep your eyes peeled. It's such a small building but so so so quaint. When you step in, you choose a piece of pottery you'd like to paint and then pick a spot to sit down. I went with a few girlfriends and we really enjoyed painting while listening to various genres of music. My only complaint though, it was way too quiet. It felt awkward talking at a normal indoor voice level in fear of annoying people around us and we felt awkward whispering to each other because we weren't doing anything wrong. The pieces turned out very nicely, but I guess if I come back, it'll just be a solo trip because this isn't a very social environment if you're looking to catch up with people.

Yelp
This place was amazing to celebrate my daughters 6th birthday. The owner was SO easy to work with and we had so much fun! They were super accommodating to our little party. We had a private room, had pizza delivered, she helped us figure out how to do a piñata. The items were ready in a little longer than a week and we had 8 items. She explained everything to eager 6 year olds and helped them create their masterpieces. We will definitely be going back to get our paint fix and we love supporting a local, fun business with a kind owner.

Yelp
We had my daughter's 11th birthday party here and we all loved it! It was very fun, easy going and stress free. I have returned several times alone to paint and Patsy has been so sweet and helpful. I adore Ceramic Lodge. They have a good selection of pieces and paints. Most of all I enjoy the chill atmosphere which Patsy provides. Give it a try!

Yelp
Fun date for my husband and I. It's a cute space and they had good COVID protocols. I felt bad for the one employee there, trying to help multiple groups on her own. It made everything slower. One lady had a question and the employee didn't know the answer so she had to call I assume the owner. That took time and we were sitting there waiting to pay. But, overall a good experience and we have nice ceramic pieces to show for it.

Yelp
I took my 2 boys here yesterday. Yelped painting ceramics - this was the closest one to my pad . . . Georgetown. It was a really cute place. Jillian was a huge help even though she was the only employee and the place was busy! They had everything you could want for designing your piece. Stencils/puffy paints/guides/lettering/etc... We had everything needed and can't wait to see our pieces done. Tip: If you go on a Thursday the studio fees are the highest for the week. (of course, that's when I went! Go figure.) Wednesdays: Kids paint free with a painting adult ($8 fee) The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars - it was a little cramped, I've given other ceramic houses 5 stars which were much more roomy. Either way, we'll be back! Thanks guys.

Olivia H.

Yelp
My experience at Ceramic Lodge was a 10/10. The employees were incredibly helpful I have never painted on a canvas and the picture below is what I painted! At one point a good amount of people came into the store but it didn't get crowded at all, very relaxing environment for ANY age. There were ages 1-60 when I went.

Yelp
I've been here several times - once with a group of girlfriends, once with a foreign exchange student (I wanted to expose her to pottery painting) and two times on my own. The building is over 100 years old so you can't expect it to be too big but I will use the word quaint - because it's totally cute and I love old stuff. Anyway, the owner, CC, is really nice and is usually around to help with whatever. Jillian is also a nice gal who works there, knows her craft painting, and sure is pretty awesome with kids when they show up. There are others who work there too but these are the ones that I have interacted with the most. They offer all types of ceramics to paint from bowls, to plates, to coffee mugs, figurines, jewelry boxes, and lots of kids stuff, such as ponies, angry birds, piggy banks, etc. Whoever is working will explain the procedures on how to paint and the service fee also includes them cleaning up the mess that you make when you're finished. Once you've painted whatever it is that you're going to paint, you leave it there and they glaze and fire it for you in their oven. It's usually ready within a week. If you can't find what you're looking for, you're able to place special orders from magazines they have there... I did this for trinket boxes I needed as wedding thank you gifts and they were here within a week. I also didn't get charged double (or quadruple rather) for the many times that I had to come back and finish painting this large order of trinket boxes I had, so they earn double brownie points from me. They do have a Facebook page, which is updated regularly with the special activities like Ladies Night (Thursdays) or classes that they offer. You are allowed to bring in food and drink so you can munch away while you're painting (this includes alcoholic beverages). They do offer sodas and water there for purchase as well. Oh, and they ALWAYS have the oldies rock station playing - which is pretty awesome to me! More brownie points ;) The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of it being a tad bit on the cluttery side. I'm sure they are doing the best that they can with the space that they have but I feel that they should possibly hire a professional organizer to help them reorganize and maximize the space that they do have. It would make for a much more comfortable and less cramped experience when painting there. Overall, I love coming here and it's a great way to just relax if you need that "me" time but even better when you bring along friends to gossip with.

Yelp
I go here when I need Stress Management Therapy - it helps take my mind off things that I am going through. Staff is very friendly, funny, helpful and outgoing. They have alot of cute things to paint and they have alot of things going on during the week. They are closed on Tuesdays. Only down fall is the parking is kinda tight.
google avatar

Yelp
I called before going of and the young lady was great at answering right away and was able to answer all my questions with confidence. My step daughter had been there before and when we walked in the same young lady made sure to explain it to me and was great about keeping everything clean and organized. We had a really good bonding time and was able to stay out of Texas heat and the best part I didn't have to clean up.. will be back for sure.

Yelp
This is the best place in the world to go and get your creative juices flowing! The staff is ALWAYS helpful and courteous. I usually take my bottle of wine, meet up with friends, and enjoy the serenity. I've found that when I'm having a bad or stressful day, this is the 1st place I want to run away to. I've always thought that this is way better than therapy and much more cost efficient. You can usually find the owner, Caroline, floating around either working on some project or helping her customers out. I recommend clearing your schedule for about 2.5-3 hours so that you don't feel rushed and go in ready to relax.
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
This is such a hit with the grandparents! I bring my daughter and she paints something as a gift -- they absolutely LOVE it. The staff are incredibly patient with her even though she is a bit of a mess. Great selection of items available to paint. They do have a kids special on Wednesday. There is even a totally adorable "milk and cookies" mug.

Yelp
We visited last week for mothers day and met the new owners. They were making hot dogs for everyone to snack on while painting!!! Grilled outside and everything! It was pretty amazing! They are so helpful and friendly! I love the new makeover and we can't wait to pick up our creations! I made a leopard print salad bowl......pretty sure I'm going to eat every meal out of a bowl from now on! HA! We look forward to having a house full of hand painted custom dishes!
google avatar

Susan T.

Yelp
I love coming here! Thursday nights are ladies' night and you get a free sitting fee if you either bring a snack/drink to share or participate in the theme (check out their site for themes and schedules). It is the best kind of relaxation to be able to paint something that you can use or gift to someone else and it always takes a load off my shoulders! Everyone here is super-helpful and knowledgeable about painting. I love it!!!
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I've come here with my aunt and younger cousins, and have had many good experiences here! The projects are as simple or as difficult as you would like for them to be! I have only done the ceramics, where you choose a mug or a plate, or a figurine, or even a tissue box or tea light holder! There's always a variety. They let you paint to your heart's content, and when you're done and you've paid, all you have to do is wait for them to call or email you in about a week or two for pickup! Easy as that! The prices are all reasonable, and the end product is always a great memory! I highly recommend this place if you have a few hours to yourself or a group of friends and/or family!

Robert W.

Yelp
My daughters and I made mothers day gifts here. They had items with "MOM" on them, so they were prepared for the holiday. We were warned that the items may not be ready in time, but they were ready in time.
google avatar

Katy B.

Yelp
We planned to go here for my daughter's 2nd birthday (I'm all about mementos we can keep for years to come). I loved the look of the place as soon as I saw it, we went in and my daughter chose an object to paint (she went for a shark - unusual for a toddler ). The staff was very attentive and guided us through the 'process' since it was our first time there. My toddler loves painting (her late grandma was a painter and her late aunt was a sculptor so I guess it's in the genes) and she enjoyed painting the shark and a Christmas ornament. Even though there were a lot of kids the noise was minimal and the atmosphere was quite pleasant (I wouldn't mind taking some 'Mommy time' there either). They have specials every day of the week from what I saw (when we went the sitting fee was half off). Will surely come back!

Chantelle J.

Yelp
First of all, my kids love this place. Secondly, I love this place. On Thursday nights, they have ladies night and it's fun to bring a bottle of wine and paint and visit.

Yelp
today was my first experience with the ceramic lounge. they are mainly a "paint your own pottery studio," but also offer workshops, summer camps, and host parties. you pick from a variety of ceramics they offer (plates, mugs, figurines, bowls) and paint them however you like. they glaze and bake them for you and you pick them up a week later. i went with my boyfriend and the two kids, intending to each paint a "special plate" that we could use for birthdays and special events like good grades, school honors, work promotions, etc. we ended up making three instead of four because the pieces are rather pricey ($12 for a 10-in plate) and they also charge a studio fee of $8 per adult and $5 for kids 12 and under. when you start adding up it gets expensive for a few hours of painting! it's a really cool idea, and we had a lot of fun doing it, but i felt very lost from the time we walked in. they were having AC trouble today and that may have created the hectic scene, but we got very little direction with how to proceed. the employees could have been a lot more helpful since we were complete newbies. check their website for daily specials--this can save on studio fees! we might do it again. i'm not sure yet. 2 stars off for lack of helpfulness and high price.
google avatar

Paula M.

Yelp
My 17 year old daughters just stopped in there and they were so busy, no place to sit, hardly any items to paint, and they were rude to them because they were to busy and could care less weather they stayed. A bad impression for two teens that will sure spread the word and spend there money elswhere. So tired of businesses treating hard working teens like they don't have any money to spend.
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
My daughter really enjoyed her birthday party in the back room. It was far more interactive than a movie. It was age-appropriate for a bunch of pre-teen girls.
google avatar

Yelp
oh how i love this place. the staff is super friendly, and eager to lend a helping hand on request. they always have a ton of cool ideas and peices to chose from. this place relaxes me so much. i love ceramic lodge

Yelp
Wonderful staff, great service, lots of fun. I discovered painting ceramics to be relaxing and a great way to spend time with family and friends.
google avatar

Angelica S.

Yelp
I took my daughter here on a whim. They offer classes, ceramics, fused glass projects, and candle making. Nice little shop for crafty people. I used to visit a shop like this in Monahans. While the ceramic lodge can be pricey, it was fun and I'd go back. Be sure to visit on the weekends to get supply discounts and to check out their Web page for specials.
google avatar

Jenna B.

Yelp
My kids love this place! They have lots of ceramics to choose from and a relaxed atmosphere. Can be a little spendy with my 3 kids, though. Try to go on a day with reduced fees if you are watching your wallet.
google avatar

Laura V.

Yelp
During the Summer my nephew and I come here once a week. Its a great way to engage his artistic side and get out of the house. If he had his way we would come every day. There are always different things for us to paint.
google avatar

Z A.

Yelp
I've been here once with my daughter. We went on a day when the studio fee was only $3 and we were able to choose a couple of pieces that were budget friendly. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a great bonding experience for us. We had a great time! I definitely recommend it!

Alex K.

Yelp
It's a fun place to take your children. We've gone once a year and my four almost five year old loves going. I highly recommend it as a fun activity for the family.

Amanda L.

Yelp
So much fun! I've taken my boys a couple times now, and it's always a hit! We started out painting fun lizards, christmas ornaments, etc., but this last time we each made a handprint plate. They came out beautiful! They were so helpful showing us how to do everything and where to find what we needed, even thought it was pretty busy. They even got out drawing paper and legos to help keep my little one occupied while the older boys finished up!! They went above and beyond, and I can't wait to go back and add to our collection.

beth c.

Yelp
I took my two children there today. It was a little smaller than I expected, but still had a great selection. The best part was Jillian. She was so helpful and actually got my 2 year old to sit quietly and paint a cute little plate with his handprint. She was absolutely phenomenal and we will go back to Ceramic Lodge.
