An Eater Editor’s Favorite Pupusas Around D.C. | Eater DC

"A Chantilly pupuseria worth the trek: slightly larger-than-average pupusas with a filling that has a distinct, memorable personality (a hint of turmeric is suspected) and one of the area’s best salsas—moderately spicy and addictive." - Missy Frederick

Uber Eats. Always wanted to try this place, but it was always so busy when we drove by so we decided to order delivery and we were not disappointed. The portions were phenomenal. The food was fresh and probably some of the best fried fish I’ve had and the beef tongue tacos. The generous portions of beef tongue were amazing. It’s always the unassuming little food spots that are really the best. Highly recommend.

Hen dinner take out. I’ve passed this place dozens of times over the years. It’s a bit far out for me. I got to try it today and am blown away at how delicious it is. I love the rice and chicken, it’s very unique. Between the rice chicken and beans, they all seem to flow very well in taste. I can’t wait to try the cheese pupusa

So delicious. The rice is so flavorful. The soup is my favorite. The spice on the chicken is not spicy. Everything was wonderful. I ordered takeout. But when I went to pick up there were very friendly servers.

Food is exceptional! BY FAR the best El Salvadorian Restaurant I've ever come across! This restaurant ranks the highest of ALL my reviews over the years! Staff is wonderful.....SO HELPFUL! Thank you Jenny, Dennis and Tony! And congrats with the opening of the 2nd restaurant! It will no doubt be as successful as the 1st!

Why have an online ordering portal if you have to blame the tablet for not pinging them every time!? Food is good and so are the portions. Customer service? not so much! For the number if folks that continue to come to eat here, may be they do need to improve customer service and not claim that the tablet didn’t ping them on an online order!?

We came to this place for dinner, admittedly a bit late, maybe 35 min before closing, but the servers and owner were all so kind and gracious. They were very friendly and the food was very delicious. We asked for a few recommendations, so we ordered pupusas (my fav), hen soup, fajitas, and many more dishes. I really liked that no dish was overly salty, and I really loved that the portions here are huge and thus very well worth the price. I have enough left over for dinner tomorrow! Price is also rather cheap compared to other establishments I've visited. I also love supporting small businesses, so it's worth coming here for good food at a good price.

After driving past this place for years and always seeing an extremely crowded parking lot, we decided to take a break from work and grab lunch here. Do yourself a favor and don't wait as long as we did! Walking in we had a short line before we ordered to go, and staff was friendly and helpful telling us about different things on the menu. We ended up 9with a pork and cheese pupusa, an 'everything' pupusa, and a chicken burrito. Our favorite was the burrito, most specifically the seasonings on the chicken were delicious. Burrito was packed full, well wrapped, and good distribution of filling through the whole thing. I'm not generally a fan of pupusas, and these were consistent with others I've had, if not better. But plenty of other options to try! Highly recommend this establishment, we will be back. Prices were awesome as well, $20 for all of that food we had more than enough to eat! 4 stars for now, will visit again and update after we try some more!

I visited this place randomly and was a decent experience. They had a wide range of variety to choose from. Portions are big and will fill you up quick. Prices are reasonable. This place is very crowded at lunch time, very less room to walk out or in. Sometime the chicken can be dry and burnt like you see in the picture. Overall an average experience. Also be mind full when you are driving out, people come super fast.
