Google
Certified Kitchen and Bakery quickly became my go-to spot during a 3-week house sit in Boise’s Hyde Park—and for good reason. Everything I tried was fresh and consistently delicious. I sampled nearly all of their pastries and salads, and they never missed. The Cobb salad is a standout, and the tuna salad is equally satisfying. Friendly vibe, quality ingredients, and reliable flavor. 5 stars all the way!

Google
Genuinely loved this place. Best food I had in Boise. Options for great baked goods or clean salads with fresh flavors or delicious lunch or breakfast sandwiches with simple coffee options too. It’s just a great place for breakfast or lunch as there’s something for everyone, everything tastes fresh and intentional and you can tell the menu was really fine tuned and all the options are high quality

Google
Absolutely LOVED it here!! We were visiting Boise and wanted a good place to grab coffee and a bite to eat. Certified had everything we were looking for and exceeded our expectations. So many good options it was hard to decide, we started with the certified breakfast sandwich and huevos ranchero breakfast burrito with a dirty chai. The housemade chai was perfectly spiced and the sourdough English muffin in the breakfast sandwich was so good we had to buy a half dozen to take home. We also left with a sourdough brownie and blueberry crumble bar. The brownie was easily one of the best brownies I’ve ever had, like a sophisticated cosmic brownie, thick and fudgy with a delicious ganache layer on top. Everything we had here was amazing, Hope to visit again in the future and try more of the menu.

Google
Very good bakery with fresh and healthy options, the homemade English muffins were amazing, soft and airy! The trailhead bowl was filled with lots of yummy ingredients! The coffees were also a hit! Only drawback is that there is very limited seating, only option is a bar seating for about 6-8 ppl. It’s definitely geared towards take out. Service and staff are friendly and helpful!

Google
We had the English muffin breakfast sandwiches and the chicken salad sandwich - praise be! Iced latte and green tea were so refreshing! Would love to have been able to sit near bakery!

Google
I love Certified. It’s a North End gem. You can’t go wrong with any of their pastries. Their lattes are good. My only wish is that they had more indoor seating & space but I know that’s not possible with the current building. Would recommend anyone and everyone to visit for a treat.

Google
The Ranger cookie is by far the best cookie I have ever had. I’ve had cookies all over this country and especially all over the bay area. This cookie is the best. It’s dried apricot, butterscotch, chocolate chip, and some oatmeal. It is the perfect blend of crunchy and soft. Stop what you are doing and get one of these.

Google
The staff was nice, the party goods and cookbook selection in the front was very nice and had a good variety. I liked the sprinkle cookies I brought home as well as one of the other cookies. That Earl Gray cake, which I was super excited about, was... Not good. The orange zest was chewy and texturally not jibing with the cake, the tea leaves (the staff explained there was loose leaf tea in it, but this was TOO much) were so evident that it was not pleasurable. The chocolate cookie I brought home was a bit too loaded with espresso. I'm willing to give it another effort but the general impression was "good but not great."

Yelp
I find myself at certified at least twice a week. A staple in Hyde park you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. From their handcrafted sandwiches to their coffees, desserts and prepackaged snacks for picnics certified makes their food with love. My favorite is the French style pancakes, which of course is a crêpe, just by a different name. They serve it with Nutella and fresh berries, and it is to die for. Their baked goods and pastries are 10 out of 10 delicious their Star cookies and the sourdough brownie are some of my favorites. they do have gluten-free breads and desserts so it is a gluten-free friendly place. they do not have much indoor seating at all. They do have a very small bar top with some barstools, but it gets very crowded during the busy time. I recommend getting your food to go and sitting at one of the tables outside. To me, certified kitchen and bakery, represents a successful neighborhood café/lunch spot. They have great options for just about everyone. A great spot if you're going to picnic at Cammile's back or bringing a friend from out of town who's visiting or just picking up breakfast or lunch on your way to the office. I highly recommend.

Yelp
I've been here twice now, and both times I've walked away genuinely impressed. The Certified Breakfast Sandwich is a winner--super filling with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Special shoutout to the bacon: perfectly cooked, not too crispy and definitely not limp. Just right. The staff is consistently friendly and impressively efficient, moving long lines quickly without making anyone feel rushed. While the restaurant doesn't have much indoor seating, it's easy to grab your sandwich and head to the nearby park or one of the many benches along the street to enjoy your meal. This spot is quickly becoming a favorite. Simple, satisfying, and run by a team that clearly cares about both the food and the customer experience.

Yelp
Usually come here for the breakfast items but, wanted to try some of the sweets. The Breakfast burrito, grain bowl, and sandwhiches are all amazing and fresh to order. The Matcha isn't ceremonial but is a local business, I added an extra shot of Matcha and less Milk. It's okay but, recco to add a bit of sweetener since it comes out to be a bit bitter. The cookie was chewy on the inside and crispy on the edges. Love the addition of pecans and the folds bring more texture to the cookie. The service is great, tons of staff working tirelessly to get orders out. There's a few chairs on the side. Will be back again!

Yelp
Our friend who used to live in Boise recommended we come here for lunch because it was her "go-to spot for when friends visit." Boy, was she right!! This place was incredible. The ambience is so cute, very vibey with cute trinkets for sale and a table of cool cookbooks. The prices were great, the people were very friendly. There wasn't too much seating, but we found some stools at the counter to sit on. The sandwiches were out of this world. They tasted so fresh, the bacon was so tasty. The bread itself was absolutely amazing, it tasted so homemade. Apparently they use a 50 year old sourdough starter for their bread and some baked goods. The star shaped cookie was delicious, great texture. So good can't wait to come back here again. 10/10!!

Yelp
12/10 coffee. Drank one there and had to get another one to-go it was so good. Came in with a group of 8 hungry road trippers and I found this place on TikTok and it didn't let me down. Food was so great and had so many gluten free options for the celiac girlies in the car. Fresh, great tasting food. Chocolate cake was to die for. Baristas were so sweet and got our order out to us quick! Will go back when we're in town!!

Yelp
All Boise locals know that this is THE SPOT! Doors opened at 8 am today and THOUGHT we were early rolling in at 7:45 am - and yet, we were behind about 20 people already! Proof positive that this place is the shizzzz! Ordered breakfast sando and a croque madame for the road - - - but absolutely couldn't leave without a couple of pieces of their coffee cake - it is DIVINE! Did I mention that WE DON'T EVEN LIVE IN THIS STATE but ALWAYS do a detour through Boise on road trips JUST TO POP IN TO GET OUR COFFEE CAKE FIX! LOVE that they serve breakfast all day and appreciate the culinary creativity I couldn't give it a full five stars, though, because I don't love their "certified" breakfast sandwich - it's the only menu item that I don't adore, and I was disappointed as I truly believed it was going to be amazing. Still, we keep going. Because - coffeecakelove! Tips: call in your order before you drive over before items sell out!

Yelp
I'm obsessed with this place! From the lattes to the sandwiches to the baked goods, everything is soooo good. You have to get a starchip cookie! Heads up, this place really is best enjoyed to go! It's order at the counter and there is not nearly enough seating for how popular they are. Nevertheless, I'm loyal to Certified!

Yelp
The uncles took out the niece for a stroll. We were hungry and saw a long line come out of this place, and thought it would be worth the wait given the attention. We were stoked for how refreshing and delicious our food came out. There wasn't much seating, but we spontaneously found a curb in the neighborhood, and it made the experience much more special! Indoors get crowded but it's a warm, welcoming environment. We all shared a piece of our food and immediately gave a thumbs up to each other. This will be a new brunch spot for us and the kiddo.
google avatar

Kim N.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday morning and the line was short. A couple places to eat indoors, but it's mainly takeout. I got the breakfast sandwich and added bacon. The 55-year-old sourdough starter for the english muffin was so good! The bread was clearly next level. I wish the egg patty was a little bigger; it should fill out the bread more. The arugula was a nice touch. My boyfriend also got the breakfast burrito; it looked average, but I liked the salsa that came with it. I would order from here again.

Yelp
Cool spot for a casual coffee and breakfast sandwich. Coffee was good and well made. Breakfast sandwich had a really good English muffin and savory bacon but at $11, was a bit on the pricey side so dock one star. Overall pretty good.
google avatar

Mary H.

Yelp
The Croque Madame was perfect - not drowning in Dijon mustard and the best sourdough English muffin. Add a Star chip cookie as the chaser and you've got the perfect breakfast. You won't be disappointed if you go to Certified Kitchen.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
The Certified breakfast sandwich was probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've EVER had! Fun lil joint for sure! Highly recommend.

Yelp
This place was buzzing with people left and right! Walking in to this store front, there are a bunch of neat gifts and treats in the front for sale. It is a smaller venue so it was kind of tight around people. For an eatery I was expecting tables and chairs but the only seating available was barstools against the wall. For breakfast I grabbed an iced vanilla oat milk latte and the croque madamm breakfast sandwich. The oat milk latte was delicious. It was balanced with sweetness from the vanilla, the creaminess of the oat milk and the bitter from the espresso. The sandwich came out fresh and hot! The English muffin was perfectly baked and soft. The dijion mustard added great flavor to the ham. The combination of everything made such a great breakfast sandwich. The staff was friendly and fast! They have pre made items and drinks in the refrigerators for easy grab and go meals. I look forward to going back and trying other items on their menu!
google avatar

Yelp
one of the best breakfast sandwiches ive had, they make their English muffins in house which make the difference. The sando is sooo damn flavorful. and their other baked good sooo good. lemon bar a fav. its a tiny spot but grab and go would be my advice but def stop by
google avatar

Roger D.

Yelp
Excellent carrot cake recommended by a local! Located in a quaint neighborhood & the service was friendly. Line got long but moves efficiently!
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
I just wanted to add that their STAR Cookies and Sourdough Brownies are out of this world!!! And, if you want a really good breakfast sandwich, order the CROQUE MADAME STYLE. Minimal ingredients, but wonderful flavor, and easy to take "to go". I'm going to try the Certified Egg Sandwich on my next visit, just for fun. :)
google avatar

Yelp
This is no surprise, but HIGHLY recommend. The english muffins (used for the breakfast sandwiches) and the best I've ever had. So good, we send them to family out of state every chance we get. The pastries will not disappoint either. Just be prepared for a line, especially on a weekend or sunny day. And little to no seating. But if you have the time and are willing to find a seat outside, the food is very worth the trip!
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Breakfast sandwiches are the best! All of the pastries are made in house and are delicious! It gets busy on the weekends but they have a lot of staff to handle it.
google avatar

Jana H.

Yelp
Stopped here because of a suggestion from a Boise local and it did not disappoint! Be ready and willing to wait if you do not come early and good luck getting a seat as there is super limited seating areas (just a couple of long bars). There are a lot of great options on the menu and baked goods out. They also sell their English muffins by the 1/2 dozen, so if you loved your breakfast sandwich, you can try and replicate it at home with your English muffins. Ordered their Huevos rancheros breakfast burrito and it was excellent and had great flavor. It was really full and had a good ratio of eggs, potatoes, and cheese. Love that breakfast is served all day! Should have also tried their breakfast sandwich. Next time! Would recommend! Also have a great kids menu.

Yelp
This is my second visit to the spot in Hyde Park. The food is definitely fresh., the service is quick and efficient. However, if you're claustrophobic maybe not the spot for you. The layout is just like a long train track. It reminds me of New York City every time I go into this place.. First time I had the certified sandwich pretty on point maybe a little bland and today I have the breakfast ranchero burrito . Delicious, both just lack a little seasoning !
google avatar

Yelp
The smell of hot coffee and fresh dough hits you like a jazz riff--sharp, sweet, alive. The pastries glisten in the glass case, fat with butter and love, while the to-go boxes come out heavy, portions for the road, for the hungry, for the dreamers who eat with both hands. But the place doesn't have soul. It wants to feel European, but it's too pristine, too white, too polished and glossy--like the North End crowd, the Patagonia vests and spotless boots, the kids who've never worried about rent, all wrapped in their own easy world, oblivious. The line snakes, the bodies press, the space hums with orders called out over the din. If you can dig it--if you can ride the wave, place your order, dodge the elbows, make your escape--you'll be rewarded. A bite, a sip, a moment of quiet on the street, and suddenly you know: yeah, it was worth it.

Yelp
A must-visit when in Hyde Park! Tons of baked goods. Coffee with homemade syrups. Delicious breakfast and lunch options and a fridge packed with grab-and-go salads. We always order the "noon-er": a sandwich, chips, and their famous starchip cookie for $15. Highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich on ciabatta bread.
google avatar

Hannah A.

Yelp
While visiting from out of town we stopped in three times! EXCELLENT breakfast sandwich and amazing vanilla latte! Lovely gem in a lovely neighborhood. Brought back a pack of English muffins for our friends back home!
google avatar

Yelp
HOLY BURRITO. It's taken me a minute to get around to writing a review, so I'll keep it brief: 10/10, best burrito I've ever had post-run. A friend and I were passing through and needed lunch, and a mutual friend suggested Certified. We both got a huevos rancheros burrito and shared a sourdough brownie. I still think about the burrito. The brownie was *very* rich and we both had a hard time eating our fair half. I would say it would be best split between 3-4 people if you want a taste but not a taste bud obliteration. Seating inside was a little scarce, but we made it work since it was just the two of us. Outdoor seating looked nice, but we were so hungry we didn't bother trying to get a table. I want to go back to try everything!
google avatar

Merri J.

Yelp
I think I heard an angelic hallelujah chorus when I bit into the breakfast sandwich, which I added bacon and tomato. Best I've ever eaten so I had to buy a pack of their homemade sourdough English muffins. I also bought the turkey & au jus sandwich, starship cookies (so good!), brownie, and chia pudding. I live in Washington but next time I'm in town, I'll stay in Hyde Park so I can eat here more often.

Cory E.

Yelp
sourdough english muffins is all you need to know!! Breakfast sandwich was incredible! so many fresh ingredients piled high, but somehow stays together perfectly. Don't skip on the coffee cake - unrivaled Ordered both a light roast and a dark roast latte and both were absolutely incredible! My wife and I were fighting over the light roast with the higher caffeine content. came here 3/4 mornings that we were staying in the neighborhood and completely regret going to the coffee shop a door down on our last morning in town, should have came back to certified! oh and the staff were super nice and helpful with reccomendkng pastries to try..
google avatar

Amanda V.

Yelp
4.5 rounded up Mediocre service and coffee but outstanding food! We tried the breakfast sandwiches (9/10), pumpkin bread (10/10), and a latte (6/10). Food tasted fresh, but the pumpkin bread was served cold; it was like it had just been pulled out of the refrigerator. This is more of a grab and go place with cute but pricey items like cookbooks and candles for purchase. It gets crowded here, so be sure to keep that in mind while ordering. Would definitely return!
google avatar

Cheri N.

Yelp
A fun and trendy place to stop for a quick bite. On a Sunday morning, my friend and I stopped in for a coffee and a breakfast item and it was very, very busy. My friend ordered their famous breakfast sandwich and she really enjoyed it. I wanted to go low-carb so I just ordered a side of their tuna salad from the refrigerator. Delicious!!! Each of these food items were eight dollars. We rounded it out with some hot drinks; a cappuccino and a hot chocolate, which were just what we needed on this cold blustery morning. At first, it seemed like we wouldn't get a place to sit, but people are coming and going so fortunately spots opened up. This isn't a lounge and eat and chitchat type of place though. The lack of comfortable seating is a complete negative. All they offer for seating is a counter with barstools. Seeing as how busy this place probably is most of the time, it's probably not the best place for a large group to meet up and eat.

Jennifer A.

Yelp
We had the best picnic lunch thanks to Certified! I'd definitely order lunch from here again!!! We had the stacked veggie wrap, the tuna salad sandwich, the North end club and a superfood crunchy salad bowl.
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
If your going for food, enjoy. But one of the worst coffees you can buy. Do yourself a favor and walk down to Java where the coffee and seating is much better. Also if a business isn't going to share their wifi, they should probably should use some other name then guest for one of their networks.
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
I don't know what happened to this place; we used to go to Certified every week, but I'm never going back. We tried to call for an order and were told they don't take online or phone orders on Mother's Day. I drove to order in store, which meant less time with my family, and the server walked away from the counter for several minutes, leaving me standing there like an idiot. It was much less busy than a usual Sunday, so I was surprised they didn't take orders. I spoke to a manager to tell them I was disappointed they didn't take orders even though they weren't busy, and she responded that they've already made $2000 that day. I guess they don't need my business. Oh, and the oatmeal was cold when I received it. So that was fun. For your own mental health, please don't go to Certified. There are plenty of places that care about customers, ignore at your own peril.

Yelp
Yummy yummy! Stopped in for brunch while in the area. There are so many delicious sounding menu options that it was hard to pick! The English muffins being homemade sourdough sold me though! The breakfast sandwich was amazing, and they even sell packs of sourdough English muffins to go! The breakfast grain bowl was also delicious -- warm, fresh, and tasty. They have a variety of drink options, coffees made to order and cold beverages in the cooler. We tried two different kombuchas, one canned as well as their on tap option, and both were delicious! I couldn't pass up a baked good, and the chocolate cake with flaky sea salt on top was wonderfully rich! There are a variety of other baked goods to choose from as well. While service was quick, to go is the best option as there is not much seating room. (Although there is a small bar if you're in a pinch). Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
Visited Boise for 4 days and came here twice. The breakfast- bomb The lunch- fantastic The pastries - delectable Took some sourdough English muffins back home with me and they didn't last. Perfect for breakfast sandwhiches or simply toasted with butter.

Yelp
We needed a quick breakfast as we headed to Sun Valley from Boise. We ordered 2 certified breakfast sandwiches with the works, minus the tomato (we don't like soggy bread), 2 brownie chocolate cookies and 2 star chip cookies, as well as, a large house chai. Got the opportunity to chat with a few locals and their dogs (loved that) while I waited for my order. Everyone was nice and not too anti-social towards me coming from California (San Diego). I get it...all these Californians coming to drive up the house prices in Boise, ID. We were just passing through. Food blew our minds btw. The best breakfast sandwiches we've ever had. The bread was heaven. The cookies were to die for and the chai was excellent. That brownie cookie was extremely unforgettable - don't ever change that recipe, it's a winner! Thank you!
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
Love their brekky sandwiches and lunch grabs are delicious too. All bakery items I've tried have been amazing. One miss which is why I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 ...they need to bring back table and stool seating. Yes, it was not a lot of seating, but something is better than nothing.
google avatar

Clare K.

Yelp
I got the certified breakfast sandwich (add all 3, bacon, avocado, and tomato). It is delicious. The service is great, the line can just be pretty long even on week days. That said, everything is fresh. You get to watch them prep the food, bakery items, and ingredients while you wait for your food. I also got the butterscotch iced latte which was a nice treat!

Madeline G.

Yelp
Great place! Amazing food, kind service. Best breakfast sandwiches (and GF bread option)! The one downside is it's often busy (because it's so good) so it can get a little cramped, seating is limited, but I've always managed to find a spot to enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
Can you give a place 10 stars? Katie and her team deserve every single one of them. Our daughter had a custom cheesecake made for her wedding at a French/Italian restaurant just down the street from Certified. Unfortunately the restaurant had already sliced the cake into wedges, preempting the bride and groom from being able to "cut the cake." When we explained the problem to them, they shrugged their shoulders and said their baker didn't work Sundays. Offered no help whatsoever. Certified Bakery to the rescue! We called to see if there was any way they could help us. Moments later we arrived and Katie met us at the door. She said they could try to see what they could do. An hour later we picked up the cake, beautifully restored to look like a whole cake again. The entire baking staff was there to give their congratulations on the day, and so thoughtfully didn't charge a dime! And all of this happened on a very busy Sunday morning with many customers in the bakery.... We can never thank Katie and her fellow bakers enough for their efforts in rescuing the wedding cake. You can't buy customer service like that!

Sabrina W.

Yelp
Gluten free sandwiches are a normal size, same as the regular sandwiches. Food is delicious and fairly priced.

Yelp
Nice spot. The oatmeal dried cherry cookies are at a whole different level, and worth traveling a great distance for that alone. I ding the star because after ordering the stacked veggie sandwich on 9-grain bread (the way it's presented on the menu), I found in the bag a half hour later a curried cauliflower wrap featuring a snow-white (!) flour tortilla. I had been excited for the 9-grain bread and was so crestfallen facing this new bland reality. I called back to Certified to see if it was a mistake, and was genuinely surprised by the dismissive treatment I received. According to the woman who answered, it was no mistake -- this was the seasonal offering for that menu item. I mentioned that it would have been better to know that earlier at the time of ordering, and her answer was one word -- 'yes'. An ounce more understanding or, heaven forbid, a friendly apology, would have helped to send me on my way a happier camper. Nevertheless, we did pass back through Hyde Park a few days later and cleared them out of the oatmeal cookies to share with folks back home.

Yelp
Delicious coffee! My husband got a mocha and I got a hazelnut latte, both of which were very good. You can tell that the beans they used are superb quality -- both lattes tasted sooo smooth. Whatever chocolate they used for the mocha also was great quality. We both liked that the lattes had just the right amount of sweetness, and still had that prominent coffee taste. We also got a breakfast egg sandwich (bacon) with their sourdough English muffin, and the heuvos rancheros breakfast burrito. My breakfast sandwich was so good and the arugula added a nice peppery flavor to it. The English muffin itself had great texture. My husband had the burrito and he loved it. We couldn't not get baked goods while we were here, so we also got their chocolate chip cookie with pecans and their blueberry crumble bar. They were both huge! Cookie was good (although nothing extraordinary), and the crumble bar was also good. You can tell there was a bit of lemon used with the blueberry filling -- which is what you should always do! We will definitely come back here and try other things.

Amanda S.

Yelp
They really do everything right here. Some of the best pastries and baked goods that are on-par with big city bakeries. All the baked goods are delectable, fresh-made in-house daily and they don't skimp on quality ingredients. There is a reason they are busy-- it is without-a-doubt worth-it!

Jenn R.

Yelp
This place is so good. Highly recommend. We had the egg sandwiches and some pastries. Everything was delicious!!!

Adriana S.

Yelp
Certified bakery might just be my favorite bakery in all of Idaho. Their coffee cake is one of a kind - make sure to get there early on the weekend to ensure you get a slice, or call/order ahead of time. Everytime I bring my family the place is packed in the best way, baked goods are amazing, coffee is great! Carrot cake is 10/10 and the breakfast sandwiches are 4/5. Overall definitely recommend!

Elise L.

Yelp
The BEST chocolate chip cookie ever. Crispy outside, soft and chewy inside, it's the cookie of my dreams. And you can have a super healthy lunch first, so you deserve it.

Kaylee P.

Yelp
I love coming to this place! Great food, service, atmosphere! Just wish there was more seating.

Brendie W.

Yelp
We just love this bakery after a hike at Camels Back. We really enjoy the ice coffee, and the GF cookie. Our favorite thing is the GF sough dough English muffins. The customer service is always the best, they are always friendly and have speedy service!

Bretton H.

Yelp
Came by here for some sweets/pastries. Poorly ran line and overall inefficient flow of traffic. The staff member that assisted us was friendly. Our order was poorly packaged with little thought to quality. Tried the sourdough brownie. It was over cooked as was the lemon bar. Pretty disappointing. I've had both of these items in the past and they've always been top notch. Well not today. I ordered a "fresh squeezed orange juice." There wasn't a morsel of freshness about it. Bottom of the cup even had a sell by date that was dated for tomorrow. This one really irks me. False advertising. I don't want to pay $4.50 for some subpar OJ. Minute Made from a gun tastes better.

Connie T.

Yelp
If you can only get one thing make it the carrot cake!! You can thank me later! It is one of the best I've had! The blueberry crumble is delicious too. People are friendly and you can't beat the cute neighborhood!
