There are a lot of great Mexican restaurants in the Sacramento area, so I decided to try Cerveceria to see how it stacks up. Unfortunately, it didn't.
It's not terrible, but I found it to be overpriced, a bit unkept, and unauthentic. They have a nice salsa bar, with some interesting flavors, but it was really messy. It looked like they hadn't wiped up any spills all day, and they were out of salsa cups. I'm not a fan of their chips which are so thick and hard it was like biting into pieces fried tree bark.
I kept searching the menu for a super burrito, but couldn't find one, so I ordered a California burrito to go. It was $19.00, which seemed a bit expensive, so I expected sometime really big and flavorful. Unfortunately it wasn't. It was smaller than I hoped, and nothing about it stood out. There was some meat and other ingredients, but it seemed like I got a of tortilla and French fries for my money.
The service was ok, but not great. They didn't put anything like napkins, utensils, or salsa in my to go bag. I got the impression the staff was more interested in pushing drinks and watching football, than me as a customer. I like the atmosphere, and the Mexican lager was good, but they didn't make up this restaurants other shortcomings. I'm giving it a meh, and three stars.
