Our anniversary dinner here ended not with a celebration, but with food poisoning—and a shocking lack of care from the staff.
My partner and I visited this restaurant for our anniversary, hoping for a special evening, but the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish.
We ordered the Penne Stella with truffle as a starter, which the menu states is prepared in front of you—but this didn’t happen. The pasta arrived cold, lacked any flavour, and the truffle was hard and definitely not fresh.
For the main course, we chose the ribeye steak and prawns. The steak was just mediocre at best but the real issue was that one of my prawns was partially raw—something I only realised after eating most of them. When I informed the waiter, the dish was taken away with no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to put things right. Despite this, the prawns still appeared on the bill, and when we asked for them to be removed, our request was refused. We weren’t even offered the chance to speak with a manager.
Shortly after leaving, I became severely ill with what I can only assume was food poisoning from the undercooked prawn. This completely ruined the rest of my trip, as I was too unwell to do anything.
The overall atmosphere didn’t help either—tables were packed so tightly that it felt like we were dining with the people next to us, and the music was so loud that it was hard to hold a conversation. What was supposed to be a romantic anniversary dinner became one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had.
I genuinely cannot comprehend where all of these recent 5 star reviews have come from. The couple next to us also complained that their food was stone cold & when they complained, the food was taken away, reheated to the point it was burned & just given back! The good reviews are probably paid for, like their marketing ploy that multiple celebrities dine there.
I sincerely hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues for future guests.
