"Have a craving for breakfast tacos, but it’s 3 a.m.? Go to Cesar’s Tacos in Oak Cliff. This 24/7 taco stand has been open since 1996 and still serves what may be the most affordable option in town: A 99-cent chorizo and egg or potato and eggs. Even at $1.20 on flour, it’s a steal. There are also options like barbacoa or trompo tacos. This may be the only place in Dallas where one can get Oreos and pineapple agua frescas in the same order." - Henry James Ferry

I’m gonna start by saying they got our entire order wrong and there was a dead fly in our Gordita. Our chicken quesadilla was not chicken. Our fajita quesadilla was not fajita. Our gordita had a dead fly inside (as seen in the photos) that wasn’t noticed until a few bites in. When we let them know about the fly and the mistake, they were quick to sing their song about the marination of the meat until our refund was the Gordita and the chicken quesadilla since they couldn’t excuse those two. Overall, they have flies surrounding the food, are quick to become defensive instead of owning up to their unsanitary conditions, and continue to serve to unknowing customers. I pray you all have a strong stomach when visiting this place.

Google
Delicious authentic tacos with most things made by hand. They take credit card tapping, cash, pretty quick for making things per order so everything tastes fresh and delicious. Highly suggest the fajita chicken, Mexican barbecue, pastor, and carnitas! Refried beans are good, they also have good funnel cake and Mexican Coca-Cola!

A Fly was in my order I ordered through UberEATS on August 8, 2024 order number was #356 and this approx. at 1:40am(1:44am is on the ticket/receipt). When I received the order, within the plastic wrapping was a dead fly. So I took pictures and of course got my refund through the UberEATS app. I understand that mistakes can be made but I also feel like this should've been caught very easily given how apparent or easy the fly was to see. I have no ill will towards this establishment but I thought it would be best to inform others so they would be aware.

Google
Hey there! I’ve really been enjoying your carne asada fries, nachos, and burritos—I’m a big fan and have even made it a weekly treat. I noticed the recent price change, and while I understand it, it does mean I’ll likely have to switch to monthly visits instead. Just wanted to share my feedback. Peace & Blessings!”

Google
Love they tacos. Best street tacos I’ve had in Dallas. Been going for year. I got sick once from the food. The meat was cold and still stuck together I don’t think it was warmed correctly. But that happens once out of all the years I have been going. I always get the seasoned fajita tacos at least 5. The parking isn’t that great but the wait isn’t that long either. You call Call in for your order as well! Love they tacos!

Google
Late night cravings spot. Salsa is on point. Best for cheap and late night eats. Update: drove 40 miles last night to eat here after so many days. Prices changed. But the taste remained the same. I got fajita tacos beef and chucken and i got a gordita fried one with picadillo. I had the best experience again since it was cold outside and the food is hot. Red sauce is their best. I got a quesdilla for to go to extend that experience for longer time.

Google
Based on the reviews, and my family’s recent experience, it seems like this location has an issue with getting orders wrong and having flies in their food. Moreover, all of their meat must have the same marinade because they’re all the same color and consistency. There must be a serious problem with management because it is appalling that a business as well known as this one has bugs in their food and staff that rushes to get orders out regardless of presentation. It’s is disconcerting and extremely disappointing to see such a staple in our community go down in quality. Do better.

Vanessa N.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Everything's good. Been coming here for 4 years for burritos and tamales. Order horchata too. It's yummy!

Jessica H.

Yelp
Price increases have made me look for another Taco Spot. I've been going to this location for years now. Staff is usually nice but this past Sunday morning the young Man was rude and dismissive. 12 Tacos = $49

Gabriella V.

Yelp
It's ok! They're ok. The barbacoa doesn't really have any flavor and the tortillas were soggy. The outside is flashy in terms of street tacos but I feel like their strength is in everything outside of the tacos. Honestly right across the street is the Paisanita and their tacos are much much better.

Tamica T.

Yelp
After errands on my way to work hungry as all get out so I stoped to get my lunch mans boyfriend dinner!! I've never had such horrible food and I love tacos it was tasteless the presentation was horrible my Gordita was swimming in grease!!! And they put my food on a paper plate and wrapped it with Saran Wrap!!! 31.00 worth of trash!!!!!

Melody T.

Yelp
Heck yea! Do not let the outside of this place fool you! Someone's grandmas are in the kitchen taring it with goodness and love! Their burrito is as big as my forearm ..stuff with nothing but the best! Their quesadillas are perfectly packed and stuffed with cheese and meat! I love it here! Most importantly impressed with how they wrap the items in the plastic! Please stop in and try everything!

Kimari C.

Yelp
Best carne asada fries I've had in DFW this far! Perfectly crispy as I requested and full of flavor. The tacos are great and so is the service they'll make whatever you ask for. I even asked for a side of avocado slices once and they gave it to me! Lol I love them for that! And fried Oreos and funnel cake with out the state fair? Can't beat the desserts here!

Josh V.

Yelp
It's always good- sometimes a little pricey but when I don't want to make my own it takes care of business

Ronnie B.

Yelp
If you follow my reviews you'll know I'm game for anything taco. So, I was aesthetic finding out this joint was 24/7, so I pulled up on 'em this morning for breakfast. Here's my experience... Location: The parking lot could use repaving. Mannnn rolling up to park was a bumpy experience. CAUTION: Drive slowly Staff: Friendly Price: A- 7 bucks for three corn tacos. Food quality: D...I really wanted these tacos to be legit, but they weren't anything to brag about. I ordered the carne asada with onions & cilantro. The meat was lightly seasoned but very dry making it tough to chew. The onions were roughly chopped & too large for me. The corn shells were decent, but not warm enough to be soft. Personally I've had better tacos from a gas station.

Princess G.

Yelp
Everything was good I really enjoyed the charro beans I got a burrito all the way with fajita chicken and barbecoa...... everything hit hard ..... it was a Sunday night/morning

Michelle W.

Yelp
I have eaten tripa all across the DFW Metroplex, but never have I ever had uncleaned tripa. I ordered tripa and the pieces of tripe were still filed with animal poop! This is unhealthy and unsanitary! Typically the tripa is cleaned, cut and then fried or grilled. When i noticed that my pieces were not cut, I wondered how could they have cleaned them and sure enough, they didn't...

Sonja M.

Yelp
I called to make sure my order was ready. The lady said no I called the wrong restaurant. I have proof it's the address right and they won't give me my money back and they won't make me any food. and my money is lost in cyberspace.

Patrice L.

Yelp
This is a poor excuse for food; Barbacoa . I ordered $50 worth of food for lunch , these were inedible and the other items were only tolerable bc people were hungry. I feel like someone mixed menudo day with barbacoa day . What cut of meat is this? This is the fundio you're serving people fam. I'm a CA native and after experiencing these tacos I need to express gratitude for all the taquerias I didn't appreciate enough back home. This is bottom of the bayou gator slum. Where's restaurant rescue? I'm not mad , just disappointed. Y'all need to do better . Smh .

Doug G.

Yelp
Place was terrible. Whatever they put in my burrito wasn't identifiable, I waited in the drive though for my food and it wasn't worth it. Guess they figured I was drive through so I wouldn't complain. It was pretty gross.

Bruno P.

Yelp
Can't recommend enough! Loaded up and tried the steak and chicken quesadillas which were both great and the deep fried quesadilla which was so so good.

Amber M.

Yelp
I am a taco-holic. I doubt there has been many taco's in my life that I couldn't find something good to say about. Cesar's tacos are not different. This location is an actual abomination aesthetically but we are not going to reduce stars for that because this is not a seated service restaurant so who cares. But really it looks like a check cashing store from early 90's turned taco shop. It's fine. Really. The menu has many helpful pictures and the prices are updated via sticky notes taped to the menu. I found this very useful because sometimes you want to see your food first - yanno? Anyhow the breakfast tacos are honestly legit. Fresh, tender, delicious and the hot sauce is fire, literally. The regular street tacos are good but nothing memorable. The crunchy taco order is my favorite dish. The shell is fresh fried. The lettuce and tomato and cheese is crispy and refreshing. It comes with a side of crema and that super hot salsa. Chefs Kiss. If you get the plate you get rice and beans which are of the generic variety but good all the same. I didn't order it yet but one morning I saw them preparing pozole. It looks sooooooooo good. Can't wait to go back when it's cooler (or I am hungover) and give it a try

Ariel F.

Yelp
Always give me the wrong order, I ask for 5 trompo maíz and they give me 5 fajita ... this is the third time in a row they do this, and I order by call ahead of time. They use to be good now the tacos are way too oily leaves a nasty feeling in your throat, horchata was watered down. The fajita didn't even have flavor

Joanna L.

Yelp
Be fucking for real I love Cesar's tacos. Open 24 hours for my late red meat craving. Ladies are dicks sometimes but who cares they got the good shit. Ambience is just sketchy enough to make me feel at home never been shot here

Garry O.

Yelp
What a great place to eat and low priced. What a great combination! Open at all hours, great place after having some drinks and eats before going home. This place is great!

Sarai W.

Yelp
I visited today and it was absolute trash. There was nothing special about the food all of it bland. The meat was so bland i literally had to put salt and pepper on it. The meat was also very overcooked the barbacoa was literal mush. I genuinely wanted to like this place because I heard good things but absolutely not. It was so bad I literally wanted to go back and ask for a refund but I didn't have time. I definitely would never come back again I do NOT recommend this place.

Fox E.

Yelp
It was late, and we weren't sure if we wanted to eat. And there's almost nothing good open late in Dallas. But when we heard about this place, we decided to Cesar's the day. Cesars is a really great place to eat in the middle of the night. The main downside is that there is nowhere inside that you can sit. So you have to be outdoors and if it's hot and sweaty then it's not going to be too comfortable. Cold would be worse but it's Dallas, so that's rare. The good news is that the food is actually quite good. Not stratospheric, but good nevertheless. The torta is nice and the bread is fresh, while the meats are pretty good. Adobada was good, the Carnitas was good, and I have no complaints. The Gordita was enjoyable and probably the best thing on the menu. The charro beans are pretty good as well, and the tacos are not bad. Lots of cuties too and nice service ish, considering the location and atmosphere. Prices are low and on the whole, it's just about a five-star place, although it's far from the best Mexican food you'll ever eat. Then again Dallas doesn't have as much amazing Mexican food as you would expect. Not like Houston. Anyway I just received a Cesar and Desist letter from Yelp because I've written too many reviews today, so it's time to end this one, and go write another.

Al C.

Yelp
Best tacos in Dallas. Pretty simple. Go here if that's what you'd like. Made fresh. Fajita meat is always tender and full of flavor. Really good salsa to accompany them as well.

Esmeralda F.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and I like the fact that they are open 24-hours and the tacos aren't to bad. But I have noticed that they charge a 5% convenience phone order fee!! This is crazy, is there such a thing because this is the first time seeing this. They should inform the customers who are placing an order over the phone on this FEE!! Next time I will think twice of ordering over the phone. I hope they fix the parking area with all this 5% convenience fee they are charging!

Jovanny C.

Yelp
I have been eating cesars tacos for yearssss , and still every other weekend I stop by for some tacos de pastor and some funnel cake fries 10/10 highly recommended

Jaime R.

Yelp

M P.

Yelp
I not coming back to these place I really not recommend the tortilla was dry and hard the meat didn't had flavor and for the price for some pice of fuck up food I got home and thru up the tacos

Donna X.

Yelp
Good tacos but bad atmosphere made this place more of a 3.5 star place for me...but with that unavailable, I opted to go with 3. Tripas and al pastor were the two types we opted to go with on a hot, Dallas evening. We arrived to see three plastic picnic tables, flies floating around, dirty cement and several people sitting and waiting for their food. Undaunted and, actually, a bit excited because the full garbage bins usually meant lots of visitors and good food, my husband and I ordered and sat down to wait. Flies were bothersome. As was the heat. The wait wasn't so good either; we were told twenty minutes but, in no rush, we waited patiently. Tacos came neatly wrapped on a paper plate with onions, cilantro, lime and sauces on the side. I unwrapped the foil to find piping hot, greasy double corn tortillas piled generously with tripas. Quickly adding fresh, diced onions, cilantro, a squeeze of lime and salsa verde, I took an excited bite. Crispy tripas greeted me, which was a very pleasant surprise. I devoured my first taco of the day with three unladylike bites, grease dripping down the side of my hand but each bite offered a good crunch that didn't go unappreciated. I wished for more flavor from the tripas, but enjoyed the texture enough that I gave the taco a thumbs up. I attacked the al pastor with much fervor as it looked deliciously appetizing. And it didn't disappoint; the pork was tender and juicy, fatty and greasy, fell apart in my mouth but held firm its cubed shape in the corn tortilla. I realized I could've eaten 98753425 of them had I known what I was getting before hand, and didn't even care that the grease had dripped from the side of my hand down past my wrist at this point. I'd return just for the al pastor. Now, knowing what to expect, when I return (which I probably will) I'll order before hand and pick up accordingly. I didn't mind the wait so much as the flies and heat. Worth a stop if you're near; 6 tacos for $12 was incredibly reasonable.

Gill S.

Yelp
During my taco tour, I ordered just a pastor and chicharrones. First impressions were they use a pretty good tortilla. I like that their tortillas taste like corn. Had a good greasy profile, firm in structure, but still soft. I love their creamy avocado sauce that they offer. Their trompo is fucking legit! It seems more like charred grounded up pastor than chunks , but the texture and flavor are delicious. Their chicharones were ok. I don't like that they weren't fried. The marinade and taste reminds me of a hot dog. Not the worst thing in the world but not my idea of a taco. Oddly enough, they had horrible onions and cilantro. I don't know if they produce was getting old or if they had it sitting out too long but it struck an awful chord. This isn't a deal breaker, but I hope this was just an off day. Im curious to try their other tacos, but go for the pastor. I will be definitely trying other items, but for now, its Ok.

Erica H.

Yelp
I give this place an 10 if I could!!! Great food & customer service. I will be back!!!!! :) The owners are nice and respectful. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ‼

Israel E.

Yelp
Food items were missing, everything was poorly packaged and put together. Very disappointed

Ben S.

Yelp
The pluses: the hours, the selection, and the price. 99 cents for a breakfast taco? Yes, please! The minuses: the taste, at least on some of the items. While some of the items we ordered were excellent (the nopal and chorizo breakfast tacos merit mention), the flour tortillas that the breakfast tacos came in had an oddly waterlogged texture. The chilaquiles were workmanlike and the red sauce was unspectacular -- the saving grace was the two perfectly-cooked eggs on top -- but I was hoping to give our Oklahoma friends a strong introduction to the dish, and this wasn't it.

Sean D.

Yelp
So I do delivery for several platforms.. Uber Eats, Grubhub, Amazon Flex, etc. So I'm all over DFW at all times of the day/night. If I'm wide awake at night, I'll still be out delivering until 3-4 am. My last Uber Eats delivery was at a hospital not far away. I wanted to eat before heading back home, checked Yelp for nearby taco places that were open. Surprise surprise, at 2:30am, Cesar's was open! I knew the Cliff had a couple of late night and 24 hour taco places, but hadn't experienced any of them. I had the gordita plate (crispy, with steak). Everything was great, I just wish the green sauce had a bit more fire to it (I saw someone else said it was too hot... I tried both green sauces, but I like a lot of fire). The spanish rice in particular was a stand out, very impressive for a fast food place. I just have to yank a star because the place was just... filthy. Granted, it was late, and all the employees are behind bars (literally). There was also a bullet hole in the window next to the booth I was sitting in, adding to the ambiance. Right across the street from the Oak Cliff Norma's Cafe on Davis, pretty easy to find. Staff seemed pretty friendly, and spoke good English.

Luis Fernando O.

Yelp
If I could give this place NEGATIVE STARS I would! It doesn't even earn half a star. I remember this place being the best taco joint back in the early 2000's. I went today for the first time in decades with my family & ordered fajita tacos. Shortly afterwards everyone's stomach started feeling upset & getting "the shits" from the adults to the kids. These people are literally selling expired meat to the public. It's a shame how low their standards have dropped. I highly advise people to stay away from this place. I will NEVER return here again!

Emily M.

Yelp
I see some bad reviews, but almost every time I order they get it right. And the food is delicious every time, without fail. Chicken fajita tacos aren't normally my favorite at other places...but THESE are addictive.

Kaitlin M.

Yelp
The best tacos in all of Dallas! Don't go anywhere else for your authentic street tacos!! My girlfriend and I only come here from Addison to eat tacos! Which lets be honest it's a couple times a week!!! Great salsas, great service, great desserts, great tacos!!!

Chikako K.

Yelp
I bought a groupon deal and came here. This restaurant is in oak cliff. When we arrived, we were surprised that there were no seats inside because we came here without reading anything. We got excited for the variety of foods this place offered! We quickly ordered pastor torta, pastor tacos and barbacoa tacos. Whenever we got there, we did not see many people waiting around, and because the cashier told us it was not a busy time at that time, we waited at the table for the food. After about 20 minutes, we went back to the car because it was really windy. We saw that many people were actually waiting in the car too. After over 30 minutes the cashier called our name, and we finally got the food!! One recommendation, order before you come...Most of people seem to do that. We tried the food...and was it worth the wait? Yesss...!! Except for the barbacoa tacos, which were missing some salt. Also, although I told the cashier I wanted avocados on the torta, there were no avocados. :( I did not want to bother telling them because I was so hungry by then. Overall, I would still recommend this place. I just highly suggest that you order before you arrive to this place.

Willie S.

Yelp
Nothing did at all it okay if you hungry and you can get home in time to cook something to putting your stomach but they're not something to go out your way to going buy Will I recommend them to somebody else no I wouldn't I went into Caesar's tacos I want to buy some tamales they respond to me was they don't make them they make everything but tamales this location after that I never went back to Caesar's tacos

Reena D.

Yelp
Late night craves! This place stays open 24/7 and hits the spot with fatty flavors for your midnight munchies. Ordered: I have tried the "Mojarra Frita" and Carne Assad's Fries. Both have been delicious and I highly recommend them. Service: Bland service but doesn't matter when the place is 24/7 with great food.

Kevin D.

Yelp
Tacos al pastor are way too greasy, other tacos were ok, not amazing, just simple. This place does not deserve the current stars they have.

Greg A.

Yelp
I ordered off Uber eats and I can say this is the worst carne asada I have ever ordered hands down. The meat was extremely thin and absurdly chewy. It was thinner than my plastic fork. The refried beans were like refried bean soup. I put some steak and onions on a torta with a little salsa. After the first bite I picked the steak out of my teeth and reluctantly went down to the overpriced bar/grill in my hotel. The pictures are from after my first bite and that was the way I left the plate for housekeeping to throw out! I cannot recommend this place and I'm shocked the reviews are so good.

Genesis G.

Yelp
It's Wednesday 7am and I placed an order for fajita tacos on the phone. When I went to pick up my order, the lady up front was extremely rude. Practically shoved my order at me and slammed the window closed. She did it so fast I didn't get a chance to tell her that she forgot my drinks. It's 40 degrees outside and I waited for her to get off the phone to open the window again. I was given 3 drinks individually instead of in a bag. To top it all off, I drive my 19 minutes back home just to find out I was given absolutely no onions and no cilantro. How the ---- am I supposed to eat tacos with no onions and no cilantro?!?! I even double checked my receipt when I counted I had 3 tacos instead of the FOUR TACOS I ORDERED AND PAID FOR. On top of that I ordered 3 eggs and potato tacos. I did not receive my breakfast tacos, instead I got flower fajita tacos. To top it off I paid for them to add beans and my beans are also nowhere to be found. Will not be coming here again specifically because of this horrible experience. People with no people skills shouldn't work in customer service positions. Would've been worth the drive to correct my order, if my interaction with the employee this morning wasn't so hostile

Angela B.

Yelp
This is a 24 hour taco stand, located on Davis St. in Oak Cliff. It's great for late night or a quick bite. You can walk up and order at the window, online or via telephone. I recommend the carne asada fries, fajita nachos (big enough to serve two), and the quesadilla de bistec.

Patricia T.

Yelp
My favorite place for gorditas! We pick up two gordita platters with lengua and omg, so damn good. Picking up is easy as you can order from door dash or just call ahead. They are wearing masks like preparing your food and wrap your food tightly in saran wrap so there are no worries. I never have issues when I pick up my order and love supporting them.

Khiana C.

Yelp
We drive 45 minutes for the low key taco joint. Well worth it. I get the marinated fajita tacos and they never disappoint . The green salsa is most definitely a fave! There nachos are so freakin huge and LOADED always. You may have to wait a while, but it is worth it.

Allison L.

Yelp
I shall write a poem about you... Taco's, Beans and Rice galore You may call me the taco whore. At all hours I come to eat, and see some people with bare feet. Dress code clearly not enforced, it can definitely be kind of coarse. Your patrons are one in a million, not your typical Dallas civilian. The English language is not your first, That's ok it could be worse. Pictures of your food line the walls, I can just point to them all! I think you need to server liquor, That would be the ultimate schniker! The beef tacos are ridiculous, You have indeed been very meticulous! In the heart of the Cliff is where you sit, a wonderful place for the perfect pit. With your prices and food as good as they are, You should be named the Taco Czar. Cesar, Cesar you rock my world.

Pokemon M.

Yelp
Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I feel like if you have it on the menu that everything on the menu should be good. I didn't think people can mess up a taco but apparently it can be done. And after reading all the reviews the positive ones have to be fake. Because who write they bought tripe and found l feces in it, or the fajitas meat was rotten and etc. A complete waste of $10. And I see this crappy restaurant at another location but there were no customers in it. I'm wondering if this is the front for something else. Food was just nasty.

Kara R.

Yelp
While the food here was good, it was really the service that puts Cesar's over the top. We had ordered a LARGE to-go order (think for 40 people). We were first amazed by the low price of the order, and then we were blown away by Judy and how she took care of us. She made sure we had plenty of everything and nearly refused to take a tip (which was incredibly deserved). We had a taco bar with carnitas, beans, rice, chicken, and all the fixings. Everything was still hot and delicious, even after a 30 minute car ride. The two salsas (red and green) were definitely hotter than we anticipated, but were still good. Even heated up as leftovers the next day, everything still tasted good. Pro-tip: order the horchata and tres leches cake! The Dairyland Dolls roller derby team is a definite fan of Cesar's Tacos! Thanks Judy!

Teresa L.

Yelp
3 times I've tried to order recently & been told, 45mins to an hour for a couple hot dogs or tacos. The cashier's attitude about it was absurd. Good luck with that business model, you are surrounded by competitors.

Taylor L.

Yelp
food is amazing. i come here almost twice a week. wait time is about 15mins, which isn't bad. downside is whenever the number gets called out: cannot understand it.

Aracely L.

Yelp
This authentic Mexican spot is a must try. The food is rich with flavor. We came to pick up a good post basketball game meal aka late night Grubb. We got about 12 tacos, many different kinds. We got tripa, which we highly recommend. The barbacoa is good also , and so is fajita. The picadillo was one of my favorites and so was chicharron. The salsa you get with it has a nice flavorful kick. We ordered a side of rice and beans , enough to feed two. The beans had a great taste to them . We also got a small side of sopa de fideo. It reminded me of the sopas back at home. It was simple yet tasty. I definitely had a great experience just know this is not in the best area so you're bound to bump into a homeless person or two.
