"Keri Buhman’s Hazel Dell cafe and creperie offers sweet and savory crepes, variations on the grilled cheese sandwich served on Grand Central Bakery Como bread, and open-faced sandwiches like the B.O.B.A — bacon, brie, and onion jam topped with arugula. The attached shop houses charcuterie board fixings like Cowgirl Creamery’s Mt. Tam and cured meats like mole salami from Elevation Meats, as well as take-and-bake dishes like onion and gruyere quiche and tomato basil bisque." - Rachel Pinsky

Very cute little French Cafe with excellent French Crepes and Super Smooth & Rich Hot Chocolate. One of the best light weight breakfast food cafe's I've ever eaten at, very high quality food! I just found out that this place is permanently closing on March 15th 2024, so come check it out before it's to late!

Google
Oh my gosh, so good. My wife and I went for brunch and it was perfect. I asked for a recommendation of something both sweet and savory. I got the piggy crepe and it was delicious, exactly I was looking for. They were well staffed and everyone was so sweet and almost every waitress stopped by to check on us even though they were pretty busy.

Google
Cute restraunt with welcoming staff and warm vibes! I came here for breakfast and had a pretty good grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup, nothing too special. My cousin had a Nutella crepe and you can't really go wrong with that. From the looks of their menu though, I'll definitely be coming back to try out their other options. (I recommend getting something different)

Google
Amazing hole in the wall. Perfect atmosphere for a French style brunch date! The Figgy Piggy Crepe was savory and sweet. The special brunch hash had the most perfect runny egg and the potatoes and broccoli were crispy under a vibrant holendaise sauce! And the Lattes were very silky and smooth! The service was top tier. Our waitress had a fun energy and a very welcoming attitude. 🙏

Google
I love french cafes and this definitely exceeded our expectations. We tried one of their savory crepes and delicious tomato bisque, which was perfect. Some bisque are too sweet, but this had a lovely balance of salt and tomato flavor. Their brie plate was utterly delicious. Now we have to debate if we should try something new next time or enjoy some well served dishes. I hope they get some escargot when we visit next.

Tucked away in a little strip mall in Hazel Dell sits this unassuming market and cafe. A friend told me about this place when we were talking about charcuterie boards. She had mentioned that this cafe makes the boards and is also a great option for other foods. I had started following them on Facebook to see what they offered. C'est la vie has a breakfast/linch menu that includes a wide variety of crepes; both savory and sweet, grilled cheese sandwiches, soup and salads. Homemade sodas, mimosas, lemonades and beer finish out the drink menu. The other portion of the space has a variety of fresh cheeses, bread from Grand Central Bakery and many prepped meals, all ready to go. The menu changes frequently and can generally be found on the restaurant's Facebook page. Some of today's specials were Greek chicken, gazpacho, Eggplant caprese bake, plum torte, and fra diavolo gnocchi with black sheep creamery fresh cheese. We sat down for lunch and ordered a elderflower drink to start. Definitely a unique flavor but fresh and herbal. The husband ordered a tuna salad with a cup of soup and I had the "fondue" which was a grilled cheese (Grand Central bread with Tillamook cheese) cut into cubes and prepped for dipping into the tomato basil bisque. My husband liked his salad and we were both pleased with the soup. It had a good flavor with a little more peppery spice than I expected. I didn't feel the heat on my tongue but as I ate it more, the sweat definitely came out a bit. The sandwich was good but I think could definitely have used more cheese. I like to see that ooey, gooey pull of melted cheese on my grilled cheese. This was just a small amount of cheddar amongst thick bread. We finished with a fresh parfait which had raspberry cream cheese, raspberries, pound cake and a kind of marmalade on top. It was also very tasty altho I found the pound cake a bit heavy. Service here is great and the staff offered a lot of recommendations. I'd like to come again to try some crepes! C'est la vie also takes reservations which I found to be a great touch.

Went to this cafe on a whim and couldn't be happier! The food looks, smells, and tastes amazing. The biscuits and gravy are especially phenomenal, the best I've ever had in Vancouver. The mimosa flights are very well priced and there's a great selection of flavors. The lavender lemonade mimosa was my absolute favorite, though elderflower is a solid runner up. The adjacent market has everything you need for a decadent charcuterie board, so I highly recommend checking out this cute brunch spot.

Google
I’m not sure where to start. I’ve been coming to this establishment regularly for the last 5 years and every time they have been welcoming, kind and just overall wonderful. I’ll miss coming here with my 2 children regularly. Thank you all for the wonderful food, memories and my favorite mimosas and cheese. Much love to c’est la vie. I’ll miss this.

Yelp
Adorable breakfast and brunch cafe nestled in an inconspicuous strip mall on 78th. Highly recommend stopping in for cozy meal or visiting to pickup something from their baked goods counter or some of their curated goods like fresh bread, coffee beans, jams, cheeses from local artisans or international imports like French fleur de sel butter. Their tomato basil bisque is delicious.

Yelp
Cute place in an odd location. Part of a strip mall across from KFC. Made reservations by phone for breakfast at 9am on a Saturday. Let them know we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation, but I guess they don't do anything special for birthdays. It is a restaurant and market. The inside was cute and service friendly. I liked the fresh flowers on the tables and the placard on our table with name. We ended up ordering the brunch frittata, which was delicious with the fresh sliced fruit, and the caprese crepe. The caprese crepe was just okay. We expected sliced roasted tomatoes, as listed on the menu, but instead got a marinara sauce. Since we were still hungry, we ordered the lemon crepe to share. It was yummy, except for the few bites with a pat of salty butter. I'm not sure why the butter isn't brushed on inside, but the salty butter slice bites weren't good. The lemon juice on it was nice and fresh. The coffee wasn't great either. It tasted old and burnt. Overall, it was just ok. Only one food entree was great, so I'm not sure we'll be back.

Yelp
Fabulous food, great service, delightful ambiance. Be sure to enjoy this gem!! Your persistence will be rewarded. The Monte Carlo, the Figgy Piggy, and the BEST tomato basil bisque made fresh every day are special selections you'll want to experience. We had to take an extra quart of tomato soup home for later!

Yelp
My friend and I bumped into the place while looking for a place to brunch. Excellent food. Both my friend and I had Tartines. We ordered the mimosa flight as well which was great since I've never had a variety of mimosas! The staff was super kind and the owner has a great story of how she opened the restaurant. It was packed on Saturday but we didn't have to wait too long for a table. I would definitely sit inside because it's so cute!

Yelp
It was a lovely meal. Terrific service. The GF crepe was amazing. I'll certainly be back many more times!

Lexi R.

Yelp
Delightful cafe. Absolutely call and make a reservation. While they will accept walk ins, the majority of people have reservations and there most likely is a wait, also small number of tables. They have cheese and wine tastings, which was a lovely surprise. We ordered drinks and crepes and a Monte Cristo on the cafe side and tasted wine and cheese before buying extras on our way out.

Yelp
The BEST tomato bisque soup that I have EVER had in my life!!!!!! Wow, it's truly incredible!!! Their homemade salted caramel sauce is the absolute best ever!!!!! I had the goat cheese and apricot jam crepe topped with arugula. It was the perfect amount of sweet and salty! My son had the cáptese crepe, very light and fresh. You really can't go wrong here! Super friendly service from every staff person there. The desserts look amazing too, but we did not try them as we were too full! I highly recommend this place!!!!!
google avatar

Amber R.

Yelp
The food and service was excellent. The staff was very nice and friendly and the food was all sooooo good. Do not skip the tomato bisque! It was the best tomato bisque I've ever had.

Yelp
I have been following their Facebook and wanting to try this place for a while, it did not disappoint! I took my mom when she was visiting from out of town and we shared a mimosa flight and each had a crepe. The "Figgy Piggy" was fabulous! The perfect ratio of ingredients and the fig added a bit of sweetness to compliment to goat cheese. *chef's kids! I'd most definitely come again. What I loved the most was the cute Parisian atmosphere and friendly customer service. We even left with a few goodies which were really good, they had some French butter that we could not stop eating on baguette.
google avatar

Jacque C.

Yelp
Loved the quaint little French shop in Vancouver!! Went with my daughter while visiting and it was truly a hidden gem! Darling atmosphere with cute Paris theme. We enjoyed some delicious crepes and a mimosa flight. All the goodies were very tasty and we certainly enjoyed the friendly staff there! We couldn't resist taking some things home-the French butter was fantastic!! We will definitely return to this cute establishment that has wonderful service provided by Kristina our fabulous server and the yummy food!
google avatar

Joy J.

Yelp
Lovely local bistro with delicious fresh fare! Great service and kind people, too. I've taken their desserts to events and given their charcuterie platters to clients as a house-hunting snack; everyone always wants to know where to go for more. I'm so happy to have this delightful restaurant in my community!
google avatar

Andrew N.

Yelp
Great food and service! Ordered their biscuit special and the crepe. Clean space and pasterie counter as well

Yelp
If you liked Mon ami cafe when they had crepes your gonna love C'est la vie, great crepes and breakfast and lunch options our favorite place to go for crepes

Suzan S.

Yelp
Given the high ratings, I expected a top-notch experience. Regrettably, myself and guests were disappointed. The crepes were overly thick, scantly filled, and served with no color on the plate - just pale crepes with sour cream on top with a scattering of salt and pepper. The weak coffee didn't taste good. Neither the cost point nor our waiting for water as servers chatted near the cash register helped this review.
google avatar

Ginette F.

Yelp
They should change their name to Its life. Nothing French about it. I don't quite understand the 4 1/2 stars rating, food is mediocre and pricey.
google avatar

Tamara B.

Yelp
Love this sweet little French inspired restaurant! Very authentic and creative. I also love that they have a market where you can buy items to take home. The service is always so great. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jill W.

Yelp
Everything about this place is wonderful the one and only negative thing I can say is it's really small but that's makes it charming. Go see for yourself you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Mary F.

Yelp
The food and experience are lovely. We always stop when we can. Just a little taste of France.
google avatar

Heather P.

Yelp
Such a lovely place to find in Vancouver. So rarely can I find food of this quality in Clark County. Highly recommend everything and anything on the menu, service is great and dining room as sweet and cozy. Great place to take guests.

Scott P.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere, great service and outstanding food. The Monte Cristo creep that was the best I ever had. Thanks Kerrie!

Yelp
Truly one the the best places in town! I meet friends her often and the food and experience never cease to amaze any of us!

Yelp
Love this place! Friendly and observant staff, friendly people, many options for all types of eaters and diets, and delicious food!
google avatar

Tina K.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place and the food I die for satisfying my cravings and believe me it's we'll worth it:-)
google avatar

Michelle O.

Yelp
Reservations are 100% necessary to dine. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and have a small dining area attached to a small deli. The food was good but I felt the menu was limited. They served sweet and savory crepes, sandwiches, open faced sandwiches and salads. Where I felt it was limited was in the selection of crepes and sandwiches. Whatever they offered as a crepe, the same menu was offered in a sandwich. What you find there would be what you find in a deli in France but not necessarily at a Parisian restaurant.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
I found this place on accident while looking for a quick bite to eat. I was absolutely delighted I did! The food and coffee were great and there's a very cute little shop attached with some extra goodies. Both servers were friendly and cheerful, and recognized that I was on a time limit and expedited my order without me having to ask. It's definitely some place I will be back to visit.
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
We've been here a few times now and can highly recommend it! Great French press coffee, delicious food options (including veggie choices), and relaxed ambiance. Service is exceptionally friendly. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp

Yelp
Always such delicious food. Organic or local ingredients along with gluten free options. Little store built in with takeout dishes to warm up for dinner. Yumm!!!
google avatar

Tessa T.

Yelp
Love this sweet little mom & pop shop! So grateful it's in our neighborhood--having traveled to Europe (France, Spain, Italy) I dearly miss being able to find good affordable wine and also source some high quality ingredients for an authentic charcuterie board... and then I found c'est La vie! And I'm so so grateful
google avatar

Yelp
The tiramisu is to die for!!! It's so delicious and creamy and just the right amount of espresso in it.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Delicious food and a great staff. Their take & heat meals are also fantastic. Crepes, beniegts--I love their food!

Yelp
The thing that really stands out here is the friendly, prompt, and personal service. Prices are high for the portion size and quality. The quality of the food is pretty average, and the house-made sodas are fresh, bright, and refreshing. The room is open and bright. There is a giant, long, wide community table that runs the length of the restaurant through the middle. It is one of the widest tables I've ever seen, so much so that sitting across from your dining companions seems pretty alienating. We stopped in for a late breakfast / early lunch, and were served promptly. The crepes were expertly prepared, but were nothing spectacular. The croque monsieur was OK, but was nothing compared to what I had in France. If you're in the neighborhood and want some crepes, you'd do well to stop at C'est la Vie.

Vanessa M.

Yelp
Bet the food is good but it's confusing telling us to enter through one door but the exit door has a wait to be seated

Bob H.

Yelp
What a fun hidden gem for breakfast or lunch. Out first time and we were delighted. The people were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. It isn't typical french fare. Yes, they do have crepes. It is just yummy food that makes the drive worth your while. It is tucked into a neighborhood shopping center. I had a tuna melt, I know, sounds boring, but it was anything but boring. My wife had a daily special bowl, that she loved. Remember, it's breakfast and lunch, so don't expect fois gras.

Deni H.

Yelp
I absolutely love c'est la vie. From dining in to taking out their incredibly premade meals. I am a big fan of their savory crêpes. The owner is terrific and most often on site. They tried very hard to please their customers and the experience is always lovely and pleasant.

Taylor K.

Yelp
Have heard about this place for years and finally went in today and I'm so glad I did! Such a cute little place that felt so cozy and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and makes me want to go back and try all the things. The ladies there were so helpful and welcoming. I will definitely be a forever customer. Thank you!

Yelp
What a wonderful place to eat French meat, cheeses, wine and crepes! Lots of choices. Our server was superb. This is a casual eatery and yummy.
google avatar

Yelp
Just adored this little place and can't believe I didn't know about it any sooner!! All the food from the crepes to tartines were so delicious! And also they had French press coffee that even came with an awesome timer so you knew when it was ready !One half of the place is the market and the other is the cafe . They do have two outside tables if you have any dogs with you or couple tables inside . We were even blessed to have met the owner in passing and you can tell she really enjoys running the place and was nice to have that interaction . I will definitely be back and recommend this place

Service here is great and the staff offered a lot of recommendations. I'd like to come again to try some crepes! C'est la vie also takes reservations which I found to be a great touch.

Yelp
Again. Wow. I love crepes, and generally dont eat them cause watch my wife look at me knowing see cant have any is rude. She has celiac disease so no gluten for her. HOWEVER! WE FOUND THIS GEM, on our drive home from our honeymoon. GLUTEN FREE FRENCH BAKERY....WHAT? Yup, gluten free crepes, gluten free tomato bisque, gluten free dessert bars and cookies. She was in ohh lala heaven. Plus they have incredible regular crepes as well. Will be back when we road trip again.
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
Kicking myself that I did not come here sooner! Quick stop in for a delightful melted chocolate filled croissant and freshly brewed (just for me)coffee!!! One of the owners helped with my order and prepared my order to how I wanted it. Will be back to dine in for sure! One thing that I especially enjoyed was the fact that they had a lunch pour wine , a dinner pour wine and then an at home pour wine! They are closed on Sundays which I appreciate too because the owner said that's her time to spend with her family and we all need time with family!

Chloe C.

Yelp
Delicious food and pastries! Quaint little place to meet for brunch. Definitely a good find!

Yelp
I love this special place. Delicious salads and gluten free and regular crepes. Great desserts and coffee options. A true gem in the Hazel Dell area.

Yelp
We went in during phase 2 of re-opening and we're happy to see the crew handling the Covid guidelines so well. They have set up a market inside and serving a limited menu which will be expanding now that we are starting phase 3 of re-opening. This was a goat cheese fig jam and arugula crêpe with a Nutella latte... Simply fabulous. My partner had a grilled Monte Christo sandwich on freshly sliced bread and it was wonderful as well. They also serve prepackaged grab and go meals and soups.
google avatar

Magdelana M.

Yelp
omg, i LOVED this place. i had the crepes and so did my mom, but she got the savory kind and i got sweet ones. the atmosphere is so sweet and cute, and the music they play is perfect! the service was awesome, the lady we had helped us choose what to get and was so kind! 10/10, go here!!!

Elsie c.

Yelp
What is disappointment? Disappointment is ordering a monte cristo sandwich and expecting a ham and cheese sandwich dipped in a light batter, lightly fried/sauteed and served dusted with powdered sugar and some sort of jam on the side and getting a plain grilled ham and cheese sandwich . that is deceptive advertising. And it wasn't very good at that. Service was fine. Would not go back. The others ordered crepes and they did not look appetizing.

Andrea K.

Yelp
Food was good. Weird that you have to make a reservation when it's completely empty inside.
google avatar

Krishna B.

Yelp
Loved this place. This is my daughter's one of the favorite restaurant . Love every time we visit.

Yelp
1st visit and it did not disappoint! Very friendly staff! Recommend advanced reservations.

Yelp
I just love this little French café the owner and all the servers are so friendly. They make you feel like you're part of the family. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is so different.
