Pro tip: Don’t order too much as one order pertains a lot of side dishes from the soup, congee, greens, coconut jelly etc Don't let this simple-looking dish turn you off. The flavors are great when you combine them all together. There's only 3 items on the menu and you have to try them all. Yes, even the fish guts. This also comes with free soup, porridge, and coconut jelly. The porridge is great! Don't miss out on it. The staffs are also friendly 👍

We loved visiting this restaurant. We ate a fried fish meal which was heated over a flame on the table with some veges, and it came with noodles, some yum sauce, peanuts and more greens. The fish isn't showing in the photo because I took it before the fish came out. The people were really helpful and the toilet is lovely - there was even paper! We also tried the fish soup and then to finish we had some thach dua - coconut jelly in a cup - also yum and refreshing. Not super-sweet, which I liked on a hot day.

The lady boss here is really very helpful even though she doesn’t speak English at all. I had wished the fish was in smaller pieces. Overall, it is not too bad. They gave a free dessert after lunch. Their service here is quite okay. Except the fish is too big of a chunk which made the fish taste quite rough…. This place accepts credit card.

Probably the best meal in Hanoi! The fish is absolutely delicious, go for the grilled fish and you will be amazed with the flavour. Vietnamese restaurant for Vietnamese people (we were the only westerners) and the staff is incredibly friendly. They kept offering us things, like fish soup and a desert. Would definitely recommend, and come back!

We were very curious about Chả Cá Lã Vọng, and this restaurant did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and even took the time to show us how to properly enjoy the dish, making the experience even more special. A good Chả Cá is all about the balance of flavors and textures. The fish was marinated perfectly, infused with turmeric and spices, then cooked in a sizzling pan with fragrant dill and green onions. The result? Tender, flavorful fish with a slight crispiness on the edges, best enjoyed with vermicelli noodles, roasted peanuts, fresh herbs, and a squeeze of lime. We ordered the fish set and, out of curiosity, tried the fish gut set—which turned out to be a delightful surprise! I never expected fish gut to be this tasty, but it had a unique chewiness and rich flavor that made it really enjoyable. To top it off, they even gave us free fish soup and two coconut puddings for dessert, which was such a nice touch! If you’re a tourist looking to try Hanoi’s signature dish, this is definitely the place to go. A fantastic experience all around—highly recommended!

My first time dining here. Awesome service and food. All said by far the best dining experience and super value for money. Ingredients super fresh and complimentary soup dessert and a bowl of piping hot fish porridge that goes so well with a chilly evening. Ms Ans goes out of the way to ensure dining experience was unforgettable. Strongly recommend this nice place for a truly local fare.

They only serve fish and they serve it well. The menu is three lines long, and we ordered the grilled fish and the fish spring rolls. The grilled fish came on a burner and was stir fried with veggies on our table! Then we are given sooo many accompaniments. Rice noodles, mint, fish sauce, limes, chilies, and peanuts. You put them together at your leisure. We were also given a fish soup and coconut jelly for dessert! Amazing food!

Family run place - great and speedy service, friendly atmosphere. Tasty food, healthy quantity. They gave us a complimentary fish soup, and coconut jelly. Showed us the right way to eat all the things! Loved it!
