We loved visiting this restaurant. We ate a fried fish meal which was heated over a flame on the table with some veges, and it came with noodles, some yum sauce, peanuts and more greens. The fish isn't showing in the photo because I took it before the fish came out. The people were really helpful and the toilet is lovely - there was even paper! We also tried the fish soup and then to finish we had some thach dua - coconut jelly in a cup - also yum and refreshing. Not super-sweet, which I liked on a hot day.

The food was not served as the display - the normal Vietnamese condiments. Eventually asked for lime and chilli and wouldn't even serve it. They are shady, no menu, no price displayed. Didn't even ask what we wanted. Charged almost 500k - for the dish in the photo, a can of beer and a can of pepsi. 😵

The lady boss here is really very helpful even though she doesn’t speak English at all. I had wished the fish was in smaller pieces. Overall, it is not too bad. They gave a free dessert after lunch. Their service here is quite okay. Except the fish is too big of a chunk which made the fish taste quite rough…. This place accepts credit card.

Pro tip: Don’t order too much as one order pertains a lot of side dishes from the soup, congee, greens, coconut jelly etc Don't let this simple-looking dish turn you off. The flavors are great when you combine them all together. There's only 3 items on the menu and you have to try them all. Yes, even the fish guts. This also comes with free soup, porridge, and coconut jelly. The porridge is great! Don't miss out on it. The staffs are also friendly 👍

Probably the best meal in Hanoi! The fish is absolutely delicious, go for the grilled fish and you will be amazed with the flavour. Vietnamese restaurant for Vietnamese people (we were the only westerners) and the staff is incredibly friendly. They kept offering us things, like fish soup and a desert. Would definitely recommend, and come back!

Delicious chả cá lã vọng! High recommended! Reservation is necessary if you don’t want a long wait as they can get pretty busy.

Great taste and flavour. The fish has grilled but still has nice texture, served with lots of vegetables and rice noodle. There are complimentary congee, jelly and fish soup.

It was a tiring day, with lots of walking (due to shopping 😂) and I am glad I chanced upon this restaurant in google maps since I’m craving for cha ca before flying out of vietnam the next day. It is located a few kilometers from the old quarter so, the area is relatively quieter especially at night (at least when I visited). The restaurant gives of a family business vibe (because the staff looks like a whole family, but I am not sure 😅) and the service exudes that warmth from a family as well. Food is exquisite and a great value for money. They even offered a coconut jelly as dessert for free. Will definitely note this restaurant as one of the best ones I tried in Hanoi :)
