What a great place that we stumbled upon. Fabulous margarita’s, super friendly staff and inclusive atmosphere. Great service staff and quick delivery of food and drinks. We had great food and we raved about the street tacos. We would certainly go again. Within walking distance from University of Portland.

Google
Lovely environment, beautiful music, clean, minimal and bright decorations. Indoor and outdoor dining, shady and sunny courtyard. The margarita was so lovely in a short rocks glass, beautifully sweetened. The Molecito with grilled vegetables was a delight with pinto beans. Wonder flavors and textures. Along with the roasted salsa and chips! I can't wait to return for another lovely lunch. Thank you to the front and back of house crew.

Google
My friend and I placed an order for delivery and it was literally half wrong. We ordered fajitas and they came without tortillas or toppings…it was just a box of meat. We also ordered a burrito and specifically asked for no onion and no cilantro and it came with both. As soon as we realized that we received an order that was half incorrect, we called the restaurant directly to notify and ask for a refund for the portion of the order that was wrong. We were escalated to speak with the manager and they said that they would call us back next week to tell us if they were “willing” to issue credit for the order. Absolutely disappointing. I would give zero stars if I could. You’ve officially lost multiple customers.

Google
Seemed like their food was way better since covid started, and I’ve had a lot of good experiences here lately. Then tonight. They wouldn’t answer their phone, so we ordered it online. We picked it up and they forgot our chips and salsa, which thankfully I noticed. The lady responded with, well good thing you checked! We got home and we opened our food and my $14 taco combo was missing the best parts. Pico, crema & guacamole. If I just wanted tacos I could’ve gone to one of the million other mexican restaurants and gotten tacos. Seems like this place is back to its old ways. Cold, boring, overpriced food.

Google
First timer, got a carry out and it was great. Guacamole and roasted salsa was far beyond my expectation, delicious. Tacos were also delicious but the tortillas were fair, would be better if they were a little pan fried. The atmosphere was lovely 😍. Yes, I will return. Gracias.

Google
The Food was amazing and the drinks are delicious and the perfect mix and there staff are some of the finest and nicest around town there so welcoming make you feel like you’re at home

Google
This used to be my after work go to each week. They had great nachos, unfortunately recently something has changed. The last two times I went it is clear they have switched out ingredients or where they buy from. I was very displeased with the food. I will not be returning and I no longer recommend this place. The hot sauces have also changed to be more bland. The drinks are good, but I'm sure there's other places where you can get similar good drinks as well as food. There's a reason this place is typically empty.

Recently revisited Cha Cha Cha Taqueria Lombard and I’m thrilled with the improvements! The food is more flavorful and fresh than ever. If you haven’t been in a while, it’s definitely worth a trip back. They offer a great selection of Mexican dishes at reasonable prices, and the service is commendable. The restaurant itself is a gem, with a clean, bright, and minimalistic decor, and the option to dine indoors or enjoy the outdoor courtyard.

Yelp
Best Mexican food I have ever had the. Bean and cheese burrito is heavenly and so is the tiqiuto

Taylor H.

Yelp
Ordered nachos while sitting next door at Chill & Fill. 40 minutes had passed without our food showing up. I walked over to ask for it and whether or not they deliver next door as advertised by Chill & Fill. They said no, not today -- despite the restaurant being completely empty. They also acted as if they hadn't received my order despite my confirmation email and said to come back in 10 minutes. I came back 10 minutes later only to be handed cold, soggy disgusting nachos. Absolutely not worth the $19 we spent. Never ordering from here again. How is this place in business?

Yelp
Terrible! Thought it would be the same as ChaChaCha in Milwaukie. Staff super unprofessional ignoring customers while they have conversation. Food and margarita sucked: chips way over cooked and quesadilla ok. Would Not recommend and feel the 3 starts it's has as review score is too high.

Yelp
Haven't been here since they reopened! We got our meal to go since it was near closing time. The nachos were so tasty, all of the toppings were generous and the carne asada was tender and very flavorful. For $14 , the nachos were a great deal. The molecito burrito was very rich and indulgent, and it paired well with the smoked chicken they used. Will be going back!!

Yelp
I hadn't been there since they reopened. I was really happy about that because they had a good bar - great Margarita's. And the food was always tasty. So I went in and ordered a Mango Margarita and an enchilada plate. Sadly, I was really disappointed. The Margarita the waitress mixed was probably the worst Margarita at a bar that I have ever had. The food wasn't up to the level that it was in the original Chachacha. It's a really pleasant space but I won't be going back unless they pay more attention to the food and the drinks!

Yelp
Average quality of Mexican food. It's not my favorite, yet it is a good place to go as a group of friends.

Scarlet P.

Yelp
i was kinda disappointed when I got this order. i placed it on DoorDash so I did not go inside the restaurant. the photos looked super different than what i actually received and they also said I would get 2 tacos but I only got 1. the prices were inexpensive and I still ate it and it wasn't bad but it was just wrongly advertised. i might give it a second chance but try something else.

Yelp
Such great people.... Kind. A lovely spicy salsa. A balanced and meaningful margarita. Just feels like settling in is what they like.

Yelp
Visited on Friday nite. Nice quick service, great margarita but the Arroz con Polo, dry dry dry. Do not order it, no sauce, on dry rice. Disappointed

Yelp
Found TWO bones in my breakfast burrito. Told waitress and all I got was a "sorry". Didn't even take it off my bill. I couldn't finish my food after that because I was so grossed out.

Yelp
I love when this happens: I order off the menu beyond my habits. The PowerBowl is my new, great habit. A delight of stir fried veggies with charred peppers and onions, this dish sings. The addition of quinoa and guacamole add heft. On hungrier days, I'd add beans. The veggies are crisp and fresh--the flavor and a bit of heat made each bite a treat. The service is always on point, and the interior is spacious, airy and the seats by the large windows call to me, even in this 90+ degree weather. My lunch was perfect--filling without being heavy; generous without being too much. Three cheers to me for looking beyond the fried shell salad--Power Bowl is pitch perfect!

Yelp
Felt very welcomed and valued, and the food was great! I couldn't get enough of the salsa they brought out with chips!

Yelp
This was our go-to spot. We loved the chimichangas. Our last order, however, had too many things wrong to be accidental. I was always confused by the 3 star average on here, but guess I understand now. We ordered chimis mojado style with extra cheese and other extra toppings, which were all at extra charge. I ordered seasonal veggie and my partner ordered pork. They arrived without any of the extra toppings that we paid for and not mojado style. This was all printed on our receipt attached to the bag -- hard to miss. The cherry on top was me finding a massive chunk of chicken in my vegetarian chimi... had to stop eating it because our meal felt intentionally messed with. My partner also had a random mushroom in his ?? Definitely disappointed and probably won't return after being neighborhood regulars for over a year. My guess is that the kitchen staff is not paid enough to care. We did tip 20%... somewhat regrettably.

Yelp
This is my go-to neighborhood spot. The staff is kind, the food is fresh and flavorful. They have some pretty good happy hour deals, and I love grabbing a pint and hanging out on their back patio. The vibe is exactly what you want and a neighborhood restaurant. Yes, occasionally dishes get left on the tables after other customers leave, but I've never had an issue finding a clean seat. Never. I love this is walking distance from where I live, I love that the food is consistent with other locations if not better. My go-to are the power bowl, and I love a steak burrito. Lots of great options for everyone. Vegan/veg, gluten free, kids menu. Love this place, highly recommend.

Yelp
Went here for a quick lunch meeting a few days ago. I was surprised at how open and big the space is compared to the other locations. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. My water was always filled (which I like). I had the enchiladas - a beef one and a chorizo one....I chose the "Christmas" sauce as it was both red and green. The sauce and the meat were very tasty. Overall, a decent experience. The price is slightly higher, but not that much for what I got.

Yelp
Now I understand why this place rates just three stars. The food was good, but lukewarm and the staff obviously were more concerned about closing and cleaning up than customers. I ordered the guacamole and chips ($4.95), a decent (not huge) size of mediocre guac and chips that seemed to be made in house. It is obvious when guacamole is cut with something (Imo, sour cream, tomatoes, etc.) to increase profit and this was, although not bad. Their house salsa was the highlight of the meal, containing all of the ingredients of pico de gallo (tomato, white onion, jalapeño or serrano chile, cilantro, and lime juice) roasted, then blended into a thick, creamy dipping sauce that was absolutely wonderful. Then came dinner, quickly. When the entrees arrive so quickly, you know they are closing and want to pump out orders as fast as they can so they can clean (which I observed) or the stuff is all prepped and thrown together once ordered. My pet peeve, the server brought my entree before I was less than halfway through my appetizer ... HELLO, CHIPS, SALSA, AND GUACAMOLE ... please let me enjoy them before you bring my food. In this case, it did not matter because the food was lukewarm, at best, when it arrived. I ordered two tacos ala carte ($3.50 each - one carne asada and one with "mama's braised beef") and a cheese and onion enchilada ($3.75 - with rojo - red - sauce). The enchilada was not cold, but almost, and the cheese inside had barely been melted. The flavor was actually quite good, but would have been much better properly warmed. It was obvious that clean-up and closing were more important than customers because the cleaning started well before closing time and they turned away a couple that arrived a few minutes after 9pm (closing). Yelp
Disgusting wholesome bowl. Tasted like a bunch of veggies were microwaved a long time. So gross. What a waste of money.

Yelp
I love the flavor and quality of everything I've eaten here. Always tastes super fresh and never canned.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best Mexican spots I've ever been to.. their happy hour has AMAZING prices and their food is so delicious that words won't do it justice.. I've lived in Portland basically my entire life and haven't had such authentic yet modern Mexican food in such a clean and chic spot. This place is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for great food and great prices on their happy hour. Along with every day specials and happy hour all day SUNDAY! How fantastic is that? :) Monday through Friday happy hour in the afternoon is 3-6pm, as well as 8pm-close. Cheers!

Yelp
I believe rated this highly a year ago then they had a major staff change and since then the service leaves a lot to be desired. They bring their rotten attitude in with them. The food quality has gone down and now the restaurant is closed on Lombard street. I don't believe we will go back there
google avatar

Rachel J.

Yelp
We ordered a handful of items, most of which were just okay. The nachos were the best part, but we picked up the order as soon as it was ready. I don't imagine it would've held up well in delivery.. My partner got the carnitas burrito which had a massive piece of bone? Or cartilage? Not sure but it was inedible and gross.
google avatar

Janice P.

Yelp
What. Happened? I used to LOVE this location when we lived in the area. So, when my family decided to have lunch while in the area, we went to visit Cha Cha Cha -- and what a disappointment. They've changed. Really changed. Before: hostess happy to see you Now: now ordering at the front, and THEN finding a seat - and you're lucky if you're greeted through the door. Before: (free) water, chips, and salsa served at the table by the hostess/waitress Now: get your own water. They'll charge you for the chips and salsa. Oh, and you have to order that up front. Before: Simple, great menu. And Cha Cha Bowls! Now: Cha Cha Bowl is non-existent - or at least hidden in the overly bearing menu. Before: one of my favorite restaurants. Now: I probably will never go back.

Yelp
Got the carnitas burrito, arroz con pollo, and Jamaica . All were great. It's a little pricey but understandable in times like this.
google avatar

Yelp
best margarita I've ever had! great service every time I come in here and delicious food. Never had a problem here and will keep coming back. Plus great happy hour prices!
google avatar

Odulami B.

Yelp
A great option for a large group of dinners of a centralized meeting spot in N. Portland. While I only gave it a 3, I still frequent the place as they are consistent in the delivery. I would suggest the happy hour as you can get a good meal at a great price. A few of our friends love it because their kids enjoy the food and atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
Not such a great start but the finish was pretty good... Sat down to a happy hour dinner with the tournament game on in the background. Definitely a neighborhood kinda place. We're served a very small dish of tortilla chips with a creamy hot sauce which didn't bode well for our crowd. Asked for Pico de Gallo which they gladly brought to the table. Not the best we've had--a little to salty. The main course was just right. Big Mama burritos were good, not fantastic but good. We also ordered Hibiscus margaritas which my girlfriend loved. They were quite sour and not to my tastes. Probably will not return as there are more authentic restaurants which have a warmer atmosphere closer to our home.

Yelp
My husband and I moved to the Portsmouth neighborhood in 2010, and Cha Cha Cha quickly became our regular go-to for local dining-out. We have almost always received excellent service, and the food has always been great. Last night, however, will forever be our last meal there. We arrived a little before 7pm, with two friends who had just flown in from the east coast. We got over the fact that you now need to place your order and pay at the counter. We got over the fact that the self-serve water dispense was empty most of the time we were there. We even got over the eye-rolls from our server when she brought the food or was asked for a drink refill. What we could not get over, however, was the length of time it took to be served our food. It literally took them over an hour to bring us our food. During that time, we watched several people come in, order, eat, and leave. At the one-hour mark, we finally asked what the hold up was and was told that their kitchen was understaffed and the cooks were exhausted. Finally, our food arrived, only to find out that one of the dishes had been entered into the computer incorrectly by the manager/person who took our order. In the end, management did make it right by paying for our meals, however, I have this to pose to management: - In a service-oriented field, when is it EVER ok to make a patron wait over an hour for their meal?? - In a service-oriented field, when is it EVER ok to make excuses about your lack of planning/scheduling staff?? - In a service-oriented field, when is it EVER ok to roll your eyes at your customers who have shown nothing but patience and respect?? In feedback to your new set-up (order/pay at the bar), we do not like it; nor did we appreciate standing in a hot line for over 10 minutes to place an order.

Yelp
Best Mexican food ever better than Mexico The staff is super friendly and nice and they only charge $2.99 for delivery- what else can you ask for ??
google avatar

Rain K.

Yelp
It was tasty - I had a burrito with chicken and goat cheese and truly enjoyed it. The veggie taco, not so much, a bit greasy and mostly peppers. I'd eat here again, that was a decent burrito. There are other things that I'd love to try here - we're new to the neighborhood so will be back.
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
Large menu and everything is great! Love the inside and outside seating. Chips and salsa are fabulous. The chips taste like genuine Mexican corn tortilla chips. Food comes quickly. Drinks are great. Always reliable for a good, filling, and healthy meal.
google avatar

Ellie C.

Yelp
Best place ever! I have honestly had their bean and cheese and rice burrito every time I have gone with verde because it's just that good! Others have had the bowls and liked them. Being the picky eater I am, they have always done a great job with honoring my requests. Food is always warm when I get it and always fast service!
google avatar

Hannah B.

Yelp
I feel like pretty much anyone would agree Cha! Cha! Cha! Is average Mexican. Great chips and salsa. Shredded chicken leaves something to be desired. Margarita pitchers are dank tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and service is great and always super friendly!
google avatar

Liliane D.

Yelp
I'm picky when it comes to Mexican food, and hate when it's overly Americanized. Cha! Cha! Cha! manages to embody the essence of the food they offer, while maintaining sensibilities to people's food allergies and preferences without watering down their underlying theme, Mexican! The food was exceptional, fresh and very visually appealing. We started out with the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa looked like tomato soup, but don't be scared! It's just blended "vegan" salsa. Tasty, not overly spicy or spiced, but tasty. We ordered the molcajete, which was absolutely fabulous. Served with fresh guacamole and other side sauces. It was delish. And coffee, since it was breakfast-ish, which satisfied my poor sleepy eyes.
google avatar

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
The food was quick out of the chute because it was still warm crossing the bridge in Friday night rush hour. It was tasty and I especially liked the sauces. Overall felt like good quality for the price....but the experience was completely ruined by attempting to eat a substantial burrito wrapped in a sturdy tortilla with the saddest little plastic fork ever invented. Please increase the cost by .25 and send me a fork worthy of your food!
google avatar

Pam V.

Yelp
I ordered for take out, 2 tamales and quesadilla. One of the tamales had a plastic bag inside of tamale with meat ... is this normal? Is the bag supposed to be there? I was confused. Didn't bother going back because I didn't feel like driving back that way. But I didn't finish my food either.
google avatar

Yelp
Great for a bit, meal and with family in tow. My wife and I went here on an early Sunday afternoon, during brunch time. Parking was located on the street, and that we had to jockey a little bit, we found it easily enough. The decor is purely Portland, combining a little bit of industrial and a little bit of hipster influences. The menu is very robust, with a wide variety of selections for pretty much your every need. Between my order and my wife's order, we were both very satisfied with what meals and the obligatory chips and salsa. Our customer service, though, given the fact that there was only four other customers ther, I felt like we were maybe not forgotten, but less attended to. This would be a mark against a location that otherwise has very good food and ambience. Pricing is about on par with what you would expect at this type of Mexican food establishment, you're not going to save a bundle, but you are going to have a pretty good meal for your dollar.
google avatar

Will R.

Yelp
Run of the mill Mexican fare here. Absolutely nothing special or unique about their food. I ordered a chorizo burrito "mojado style" which means smothered in red chile sauce. Sounds rico right? It wasn't. I don't know who is making the chile sauce, but it mostly tasted of water. Blah. Yuck. The chorizo inside wasn't even spicy. How do you mess up chorizo? Ask these folks. To add insult to injury, I ordered a $12 margarita..... that had a thimble full of tequila in it. What a letdown. Typically I prefer to write lengthy and detailed reviews. This Cha Cha Cha location isn't worthy of my time. It shouldn't be worthy of your's either......
google avatar

J D.

Yelp
Updating review after 5 years. They've changed their approach and no longer provide table service. They also appear to be woefully understaffed now, leading to unacceptable wait times for drinks and food. Since I've been sitting for over 40 minutes with nothing but chips, I'm writing a negative review. Oh well.
google avatar

Aaron W.

Yelp
Not sure why this place only has 3 stars on here. I've been here 3 times with my girlfriend and have had a great experience each time. Their margarita pitcher special on Saturdays will definitely keep us coming back. I would recommend their al pastor. You do order at the bar, but we still had great service, with multiple people coming to check on us. The salsa that comes with the chips is below average, but you can ask for their other flavors which are far better
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
We have eaten here for years, at least on a monthly basis if not most weeks. It would have been 5 Stars almost every single time we have come until the last few weeks. Everything has changed. The service is totally broken, tables are dirty and we haven't yet had a time where we actually got what we ordered. We watched the dirty tables around us for 10 minutes this time (pictures attached), my wife had a dirty glass (didn't find the stuff stuck to the glass until she had drank half of it) and they got her dinner wrong 3 times. She finally just ended up eating the parts she could take of it so we didn't have to wait any longer with our kid. We LOVED this place. Javier - what have you done?
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
Delicious! Great service! We ate here for the first time tonight and I LOVED IT! I had the steak and chicken fajitas and was truly sad when they were gone! I was full for sure, but they were so delicious I wanted to keep eating more. I also had a margarita, OMG, perfect! It was hard to not order another. The service was great! We were seated right away. Our server was AWESOME! He was fast and attentive, and really nice. I'd absolutely go here again, and if we lived nearby I'd totally make it one of my usual spots.
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
Stop in for a quick lunch. I had two of their tacos, beef and chicken. Both were awesome. They aren't real big but it filled me up. They have an awesome burrito that is stuff full. Full bar and large beer selection. I will return.
google avatar

Cheryl S.

Yelp
We always try to support local but this was a disappointment. If I based this review solely on presentation, I would rate it a negative 5. The food arrived to a party of 4 staggered which meant if younwere rude and started to eat before everyone got their food, it was hot and you were halfway through before the last person was served. There were 4 tables in the whole place with patrons. The ceaser salad ($10.95) with salmon looked like green slop with a side of dog food. The nachos ($9.95) didnt look much better and were soggy. The veggie burrito($6.95) was a big mush of what I can only guess was over cooked peppers, tomatoes, onions, mushy rice and beans. The peppers were roasted and I know this by their over powering burnt taste that permiated the entire burrito. The quesadilla was over powered by the sauce the chicken was drowning in ($5.95)The service was friendly but insistent on everyone buying an alcoholic beverage to get happy hour prices...we were 2 adults, one senior and one teen and the 2 adults ordered margaritas. The margaritas were nothing spectacular but decent for the price ($5.50). All in all, Taco Bell down the street would have been a lateral change. Sadly, just chachacha to another mex place.
google avatar

Zac I.

Yelp
We ordered delivery through GrubHub, however they forgot half our order. Some of the food that did arrive was good. The burrito was large and the contents had texture as opposed to a mushy mess. The steak tacos were also delicious. The fajita filling arrived but not the flour tortillas. One of the reasons I'm writing this review was that the fajita dish was $15 but it was an astoundingly small among of fajita filling (11 0z) The restaurant was responsive and helpful about the missing items and friendly on the phone but they were firm about their fajita filling amount. Perhaps that is now normal for Portland in 2018. I'm not that picky about portion sizes unless they are *noticeably* small. As I'm writing this I'm still waiting for the rest of my order.

Yelp
We love coming to Cha Cha Cha for the friendly staff, great service, and relaxing atmosphere. The food is really good too. The chips are good. Not a fan of their version of salsa. But try their nachos with pickled jalapeños. They have a nice margarita selection, which are reasonably priced. My friend recently tried the Flautitas, filled with chicken and cheese and fried just right. The dipping sauce was great. I like their Carnitas Platter. Pork is tricky, as it can sometimes be dry, but the pork at Cha Cha Cha is moist and flavorful. The guacamole has good spice and texture. I choose not to get sour cream, though the Platter generally includes it. The four corn tortillas are provided and you can make your own tacos. There is so much you will probably go home with leftovers.
google avatar

Sandra R.

Yelp
When I ordered take out from them they were busy but still had my order in time for when I arrived. The food was great the only thing I would say is for them to label their food correctly. One of my family members is vegetarian and he ALMOST ate a meat burrito because they did not label the burritos correctly, they labeled mine as his and his as mine. So please ask them to do that well other than that the place was really good!!!
google avatar

Star M.

Yelp
Some of the only Mexican food in Portland that's not sad af. Every locations got good folks and good food. I'm always happy with the vegetarian tacos and the margaritas

Trey H.

Yelp
Lady who answers the phone and takes order is very rude would not recommend and the food isn't that good.
google avatar

Crystal W.

Yelp
Nice spacious patio. Food consistent with the other Cha Cha locations... delicious mole, good salads, yummy burritos etc. The service however was well below average. Half the patio tables (7) were full and the inside nearly empty. There were three servers and it took forever to get food. Mixed up the tortilla orders and forgot to bring the second round of beer. Employee acknowledged he knew the bathroom was out of paper towels and did nothing about it. Service could really use some work!
google avatar

Yolanda R.

Yelp
The carnita tacos were delicious!! Definitely recommend and will be going back for more. Also great music playing. Happy hour is also pretty good!
