Cha Redefine

First time here! Overall Good experience. The tea tastes good, but the only downside is that it doesn't seem like the store accepts cash. But besides that, the prices are good. I purchased the Peach Oolong Cha, and it tasted great. The music was pleasant, and the restaurant was nice and warm since today is a cold day outside. Definitely will come again 😊.

High quality tea, no boba but tea is delicious by itself. Modern day tea with no frills, simple menu. Plenty of seating for casual chats, free wifi, no outlets. Street parking and parking ramps.

I’ve been visiting this location a lot recently and their tea always taste good. However today it really ruined my experience. Placed online order and paid for my order in advance. Drove 20 mins there, and figured out they were not even open. I called them and they refused to cancel my online order from their side. If you knew you wouldn’t be able to open the store then the basic manner would be turning off your 3rd party food ordering app. Waste of my time and money and I still need to dispute the charge through credit card company. There was another confused customer also paid for his order in advance, waiting at the door for a while and trying to grab attention from a staff member inside and figure out the refund issue. But the female staff member was intentionally ignoring both of us even though she could see us. I had to call them and talk to that staff member over the phone while we could literally see each other through the glass. Customer service 0 STAR.

It's wonderful that you've had positive experiences at all Chardefine locations! The avocado with orange tea sounds like a delightful choice, offering a perfect balance of fruits and the creamy goodness of avocado.

Light and refined flavors. Absolutely delicious. The Da Hong Pao Chappuccino was great. Interesting menu with good season items as well. Also friendly and helpful staff. Loved this place!

Wow! Such a beautiful cafe and even more delicous drink! My friend and I loved the blueberry oat milk matcha latte. It was beautiful even when mixed due to the spirulina. And at 50% sweet it was still a delightfully sweet afternoon treat. This drink was actually worth the $6.50 because it had 5/5 aesthetic and flavor, and the matcha was prominent yet balanced. Worker was friendly, and although he said the drink was "not that sweet," when he told us he gets it 25%, I am glad we went for 50% (similar to a typical 70% sweet at many a boba shop). I would come back here if in the area just for this drink. Was pretty empty on a Sat late afternoon, but I hope they stay just busy enough so I can come back without a crazy line (one can dream).

Food [3.3/5] Fresh strawberry green tea. Average drink, nothing special. Not much of a strawberry taste. [3/5] Peach oolong cream foam cha. The foam was not as smooth and silky as I expected it to be. The peach flavor was barely there. Service They were pretty quick at preparing my drinks. Experience Parking was easy, but I had to pay $1 at the parking structure. Easy to find the store.

Came here since I had time to kill between my appointments. Cha Redefine is just right outside of the main streets of old town Pasadena, parking on the streets nearby are available. There are some bar area and tables to enjoy your tea at. Service is also fast. I did like their classic black chapuccino, but wish I was able to change the sweetness level. Nonetheless a good quick boba fix!

I've been steadily making my way through Cha Redefine's Top 10 menu. tldr overall they're decent, the ingredients are fresh, and I see them surviving for a long time at their home in South Coast Plaza. Best drink I've had here so far is Coco Avo: strawberry, coconut milk, and avocado smoothie with agar boba 1. $6.5 sri lankan ceylon - pretty standard, was not expecting the whip cream topping; recommend to reduce the sugar level to 25% instead of 50% if keeping the cream; still prefer a Hong Kong milk tea (also ceylon black tea base) 2. $8 Coco Avocado - a surprisingly nice mix; the tanginess of the strawberry and the savoury sweetness of coconut milk and avocado pair together beautifully 3. $5.5 Da Hong Pao chapuccino - tastes like an oolong milk tea; not really getting a peach taste, unless their #2 is actually listing two separate drinks; standard 3. (Update) it is listing two different drinks as same rank #3; the peach chapuccino is quite good, I'd also highly recommend this one. 5. $8 Matcha tornado - the taro paste was surprisingly more purple than I would have expected; the texture and taste was what I was hoping for (the more traditional taro paste served at sunright tea studio and other taiwanese brands), but that color... not bad but I wouldn't get again 9. $6 osmanthus cream foam cha - delivery forgot our boba straws; I will say that foam top is THICC. when i finally got to the osmanthus tea, it was that delicate floral flavor I was expecting. You get to choose between their various foams (avocado, taro, vanilla). I went with avocado this time cause it's such an unusual option to see. Don't love it enough to stick with it though. The prices are maybe about $1 more than outside the mall but them's the mall upcharge to make that rent so not unexpected. I'm guessing avocados either still have a shortage or are just generally expected upcharge, so a warning that those drinks are about $8 each.

Favorite spot in the area for quality matcha drinks. The staff are always friendly and quick. It's so easy to grab a drink here and then walk around to shop after. This location seems smaller than the other stores however it's never packed and there's plenty of seating inside.

This is the second time I've had bad service at this location and sad it is trending. Came here with my wife and a friend after hiking. Ordered our drinks and when we finally got them we realized there were no boba straws out. So we asked for them but were told they have ZERO boba straws and we were just told, "Sorry". How does a boba shop not have boba straws? It would've been different if we were told when we were ordering, but they didn't say anything. So we got our drinks and then couldn't drinks them. Other customers were surprised by it as well and didn't know what to do. Why are we paying money for something we can't enjoy? Ridiculous, not sure if I'll be coming back to this location

The tea actually very good! We love it! The service was good as well. The environment is good, not crowded. The music a little loud but is ok. Anyway, the tea is really good.

Cha Redefine is a small tea shop combining modern taste with traditional tea. Their Sir Lanka Ceylon MT is pretty good and I really like the innovation they are doing here with their drinks. But to me it seems like they're missing some of the marks. I wish their tea strength was a bit stronger. The drink is really creamy and I really really like the candied pecans on top, I think that's so smart. Besides that though the service was great! They're super kind, answered any questions I had about any of their drinks no problem. Overall, I like the drink still! I will definitely be back :)

All the drinks were subpar. I do not recommend this boba place. There are so many other boba places that are better in Pasadena. Service sucked, drinks sucked.

Super friendly service and cute shop. However the portions were small especially for the prices. Parking garages near by and just something to pick up while you're doing other old town shopping

Not great. Stopped in to give this place a try while I was in the area and ordered the jasmine jade green tea with taro foam. Drink was pretty small for the price and too sweet even at my adjusted half sweet level. The tea wasn't very strong at all and I found it really odd that they put the taro foam at the bottom of the drink and poured the tea over it. In my experience with boba, the foam usually sit on top so you can choose to mix it in as much or little as you want. Not my favorite boba/drink place especially where there are so many around or nearby much better quality.

Service was pretty quick, inside vibe is eh, okay with some seating. The coco avo was actually really good though! Very creamy avocado smoothie with fresh tasting strawberry/mango chunks and boba (I switched the agar for brown sugar boba just because I don't like crystal boba)! Would get again! Blueberry oat was not a fav.

They make some beautiful and delicious drinks which seem to be a step above in quality, taste and price from some of the more typical boba tea joints. Both drinks we got were great, but I really love the Blueberry Oat Milk Matcha Latte. I'd say Cha Redefine is a worthy spot for a treat.

Cha redefinin' up tea! I'll say that I'm a sweeter tea gal, loving the fruit teas. So when I got here I noticed that there were fresh fruit drinks! Thank you for servin' us up some of there real good stuff. First thing is first -- Where do you park? There's street parking (pay via the app) and there is also public parking lots that you pay with a fee. Just be mindful of the parking signs. The teas itself are refreshing as I can taste the flavor behind it -- not too strong to overpower the fresh fruit taste, but just enough to know you're getting the benefits of green tea. Drink: Fresh pineapple green tea - refreshing and not overly sweet. So good that I wanted to get another one. You can taste the real pineapple! It's so good that my fiance - who's doesn't enjoy tea as much as me - even stated that it's the best tea drinks he's had... and he's had his fair share when he tastes mine. He practically finished my drink!

I visited Cha Redefine and tried their Blueberry Oat Milk Matcha Latte. I enjoyed the variety of textures in each sip, from the powdery yet bold matcha to the smoother tastes of the blueberry oat mixture. I think one flavor that I didn't enjoy too much was how sweet and strong the blueberry was, but as a layered drink, this really hit the spot. Although not too big, the interior has a very relaxing, zen feel to it that reminds me of an outdoor, woody area. If you are comfortable working in tighter spaces, this would be a worthwhile trip and break from the faster paced streets of Old Town Pasadena.

Lychee chappuccino was ok. Not enough flavor to be honest. It was weird to have a cold drink put into a hot drink cup and closed sipping lid. I would have liked something to stir my drink because that would have made the drink taste better possibly? On the counter by the window they have a somewhat repulsive (dead?) dusty dark green rose bouquet displayed and even have a note to customers saying please don't touch me! Honestly just throw the damn thing away, it does not look nice lol The store itself is gorgeous though and there is a lot of fun merch to purchase as gifts for tea lovers. That is about all that redeems this place.

Did I order 3 out of 4 of the seasonal taro drinks? Yes. Do I regret it? Not at all. Fresh taro elevates a drink so much that I couldn't resist trying out almost all of them, especially since I knew it wouldn't be here much longer. I loved the Taro Taro the most since it was a taro overload with fresh milk sandwiched between fresh taro paste and taro cream top. The Taro Tornado was gone before I got a chance to drink it but I was told that taro and coffee was a pretty good combo. I, unfortunately, couldn't taste the matcha much when it was mixed together in the Taro Matcha so that was slightly disappointing. That said, if you want a classic drink, get the Ceylon Cha Latte which is the most popular drink - and for a very good reason. It had a twist to it since it was topped with honey roasted pecan, giving it a good crunch. It's located in Downtown Pasadena so it's in a walkable area where there's a lot of other great restaurants and cafes nearby. Parking is going to cost money in structures nearby by it's conveniently located. The service was fast and there's some indoor seating inside if you want to relax and talk with some friends.

Cute spot for tea! I got a peach oolong which is brewed fresh (it took like 15 min). The tea itself is really good quality and tastes very fragrant. I ordered it 50% sweet and it was perfectly sweet. The cafe itself is really small and can get quite busy on the weekends. They have wifi, but I don't think working here is ideal because of limited seating and they do not have restrooms. Each drink is about $5-6. Street parking or park in the parking garage.

I went around 11am and it wasn't busy at all. Very quick service from two sweet girls. :) The ambiance was a vibe. I got the blueberry oat matcha! A little pricey. I would get the drink again and would love to try the other drinks.

What a cute tea shop on Union street. I stumbled upon this as I was waltzing around old town. It's a quaint cafe with an interesting menu. Drinks were pretty good and you can adjust the sweetness level up to 0%. The tea was made pretty well, but it's not made traditionally as they state. True traditional tea making is stronger with a cleaner taste. I enjoyed my peach milk tea and the Thai tea was pretty good. I could taste the oolong and the peachy aromas. I enjoyed the modern twist with the milky foam.

Good spot to pop in and check out at least once if you like boba or matcha/tea types of drinks like I do!

1st time here, and wasn't sure what to order. Decided to be a little adventurous and get the blueberry oat milk matcha, while my partner ordered the jasmine tea. We both got less ice and 25% sweetness, and it was exactly what each of us wanted on this hot summer day. Super refreshing. The service was fast and friendly, and the interior had a cute aesthetic. Overall, I'd come back to try more drinks.

Cha has my favorite tea of all time. Their strawberry green tea is delicious but everything else about the establishment is awful. The employees are always SOOOOOO rude, the store usually smells really strongly of cleaning products, and a lot of the time I have to wait way over my time when I place a pickup order. Today I picked up my order and my drink was like 1/3 empty. I politely asked the employee about it and she just rudely said that's just how the drink is and walked around the corner to chit chat with the other employee and drink a tea herself. So tired of this place and how its employees treat the customers. The employees honestly ruin everything about it for me. I'm not sure how to reply to a comment on yelp because this is the first review I've written. That's how awful I've felt because of the way their employees have treated me that I felt compelled enough to finally write up a review. I can't seem to find anything on here about replying no matter how much I try and look it up. But in reply to Joanna's comment, I ordered through google.

A very mid experience. They have a cute interior with very limited seating. The Cha Cha Lychee was smoothie like and was topped with pistachios. This was part of their summer limited drinks. The pistachio topping definitely threw me off. Overall, I didn't think the 2 flavors mixed well and I couldn't drink much of it. Not sure if it was just this flavor but hope to try something different if I come back. There's also parking garages and street parking within walking distance.

Mango mango tasted super good and my friend got the fresh strawberry green tea which I think he really liked since he drank it super fast.

A new favorite in this part of town. I ordered their rose latte, and subbed in for oat milk (which by the way, they do have dairy-free options if you needed it). The rose latte was not overly sweet or too overpowering with the coffee. The rose flavor could've stood out more but I feel it wasn't artificial to start and I liked the rose petals they added, so I'm happy with the drink.

NOT COMING BACK!!! This place used to be a good place for milk tea, but the quality has gone down significantly recently. I ordered a large milk tea with no ice and this was what I received. The cup was basically 1/3 empty. The staff tried to say it's because the new cup is 22oz instead of 20oz, but she also accidentally said the drink would fit in their regular cup. How does that make sense? So if I order a large drink I'm basically receiving the same amount as a regular sized drink but in a bigger cup? Don't scam your regular customers like that. With this price which is higher than average, I deserve more.

Delicious and it's nice and fragrant and even has a nice slushy texture which helps quench the thirst on a hot day. Their avocado foam was interestingly refreshing (not too sweet and pleasant) and I'd definitely order again. 5/5 drinks 4/5 staff (not the most friendly) 5/5 ambiance 4/5 price (was a bit on the pricier side $7.50 for a cup) Definitely Would come back!

I always get the da hong pao here, can't go wrong with it. Normally it's 75% sugar and 50% is good imo. Has good tea taste.

4 stars I came here on a whim since 21 Choices was way too crowded. I ordered the blueberry matcha oatmilk latte, which has blueberry puree, spirulina, and matcha ($6.75). The blueberry flavor is subtle and works well with the matcha. The drink was perfectly sweet to me. I thoroughly enjoyed my drink, but do think it's pricey. I love this little tea shop. It's so cute and their drinks seem to be very creative and I'm curious about the ones I haven't tried, but I'll have to wait until next time to try other drinks. It also looks like a very neat place to sit down with a friend or study alone. Minus 1 star for no free parking nearby. (This is why I don't come to old town as often as I'd like.)

Got some for my office. The drinks are not bad. One of my staff love the strawberry fruit tea. I wish we could customize the fruit tea by selecting more than one fruit. I got the dirty avocado. It is so-so. There is a better place for that drink IMO. The mango mango was interesting per my other staff. They like how the drinks are not overwhelming sweet. They like the subtle sweetness of it. Definitely will come back.

Happy to be back in Pasadena again and had to stop by one of my favorite drink places. They had seasonal drinks but went with their classic blueberry matcha.

I love how everything is hand crafted here and doesn't have much of the artifical powder flavoring like most boba places have. This is real authentic artisan tea and drinks right here. Expect great quality and freshness. I got the coco mango drink which has fresh mango, coconut milk and topped with house made avocado smoothie. It was so smooth, creamy and delectable! Perfect for a summer morning

The quality of the tea is superior to most Asian tea shops in the Southern California area. The menu offers a variety of interesting seasonal Asian flavors but does not make you susceptible to diabetes after consumption. I like the avocado foam, a tribute to Asian countries that use avocados in dessert dishes or beverages rather than in savory ones. I've purchased their loose tea leaves and it is worth every penny (Sweet Oolong Peach). The coffee drinks are decent too. Some notable favorites include the Rose Latte (coffee/espresso), peach chappicinno, seasonal drinks (orange or strawberry cloudy). The barista is friendly, the space is small but well designed. Parking in the area is terrible.

I have been wanting to try Cha Redefine for a while now and made the trip to try the one in Pasadena. We tried the Da Hong Pao Chapuccino (oat milk) and the seasonal Taro Tornado. I felt like the teas were pretty underwhelming and couldn't taste much tea flavor. I liked the taro and taro foam though in the Taro tornado.

After eating at Daphne's, we went to Old Town Pasadena. I was waiting to try Cha Redefine. They are finally opened. I had the iced Rose Jade Oolong tea. At $5.00 for a medium tea, it's on the expensive side. I don't mind if the tea is good. I know a good oolong tea when I drink it. I have three types of oolong teas at home. This oolong tea had an unpleasant after taste. DJ's rating: 1.10/5.00 Would I come back? Definitely not.

I was looking for a place to get a drink while I was shopping in Old Pasadena and did not feel like going to my usual places and I came across this unique tea shop. I dont really go past Colorado unless I got dinner plans or going to a chocolatier but this place is a hidden gem. They have so many unique drinks to satisfy just about anyone. It was really hard for me to choose. One of the drinks that piqued my interest was the Blueberry Oat Milk Matcha Latte. I am semi allergic to blueberries but my allergic reactions vary and so I still wanted to try. Plus, I took my med before sipping the drink. The girl who took my order was so knowledgeable and kind. I loved her professionalism. I got my drink not long after and how was the drink? It was so good. Just the way I like it. Not sweet and it is on the bland-er side but I really liked it. I dont know how accurate but it was also like 80 kcal or something. I am kind of into oat milk these days so it was perfect for me. That distinct somewhat bitter matcha flavor was very prominent and yet wasnt overpowering that it blended very well with the natural sweetness of blueberries. I am excited to try other drinks Cha Redefine offers in the future. I also noticed they have several bakery options to your liking. Cha Redefine has another location in DTLA as well.

Don't buy it. It's just sugar water. It doesn't taste like tea, and it's so expensive

Seeing the long line as we passed by, we figured that this must be the place to go for tea in the area. After eating somewhere close by we walked over to Cha to grab drinks for the road. It is awesome that they use fresh juices; however, the pulp from the juice shouldn't make up such a large portion of the drink. After only a few sips of the drinks we were left with mainly ice and pulp (see picture). The boba itself was about average, not the worst in Pasadena, but not the best either. It is clearly a very popular spot, but just not our "cup of tea."

One person working the entire place. It takes 15-20 to get your drink. This place is disappointing compared to the Arcadia location. Why can't they hire more people?

Ehhh I had the Cha Cha Lychee and I thought it was pretty mid. There are parking structures around this area. The interior is cute though, quite "insta-worthy" like most places in Pasadena but there were limited seating. The taste of the whipped cream and lychee juice with pistachio didn't match up and left a weird taste in my mouth. I didn't like it and threw away most of it when I left. Standard drink pricing from $5-7. Would I come back? Probably not.

I was very impressed with Cha Redefine! It's a small little cafe, but the interior is so cute. I ordered the Sri Lanka Ceylon Cha Latte with boba after seeing how popular it seemed to be. Although it was a bit pricey, I was not disappointed. The milk tea was delicious. It's clear that they use high quality teas here. I was skeptical about the whipped cream and honey roasted pecans on top because those aren't toppings that's I associate with boba, but they ended up being delicious and complementing the milk tea very well. The service was great and very fast. I definitely recommend Cha Redefine!

Cha is an amazing boba place and I do recommend. The employees are always friendly and the tea is always delightful and outstanding. The place always smells so good and the store is always so clean. My regular is always the Coco Avocado and I can say it is always amazing and I never get tired of it. Recently tho i felt like trying something new, I asked one of the employees what they recommend and they recommended Peach Chappuchino with Taro Foam. Wow. It was amazing and the Taro Foam definitely adds a kick to it. Overall this place is amazing and I recommend for Tea lovers.

The coconut latte is the best drink I always get that drink I've been a customer for a year now and I love the service and the customer service I really do feel like I'm getting the full experience thank you to all the workers for making these amazing drinks and for having such a clean store

I came here with my friend a few months ago just to try the boba. The drinks were amazing. Lately I've been getting the Blueberry Oatmilk Matcha Latte and it's just splendid. The employees are always so kind and I am always asking them for new drinks to try. The store is always so clean. Overall I do recommend Cha redefine for boba and tea lovers.

I got the Thai Milkshake Latte half sweetened here, and it was perfect. It's not too thick, with a frostier consistency. Use the boba straw to make the most of it! I loved the subtle flavor, but half sweet was also a must for me. There isn't a lot of seating, but most people were just taking the drinks to go. Nice beats in the background.

Tried the fresh strawberry green tea with avocado foam and it was definitely a unique drink. I'd say the drink tastes primarily of a floral green tea and sipping on the avocado foam hits you with the strong avocado flavor. To note, certain specialty drinks only come in a large size. Next time, I'd want to try some of their milk tea drinks. Seating is limited inside with only three small round tables and a bench along one wall.

please don't go here trust me i'm doing you guys a favor. we went today and got 2 drinks the strawberry green tea and blueberry matcha. I don't know what these other reviews are on but they were both horrible. it was our first time here and they asked my friend do you want foam and he said yes because he thought it was regular foam as I would think too. instead they gave us avocado guacamole tasting foam on strawberry tea. not to be rude but we both drank it and almost threw up. i love avocado smoothies but this drink was something else. my blueberry matcha tasted horrible there was no blueberry taste it just tasted like bitter expired matcha. the service was also horrible when I asked for them to remake my friends drink without foam since they gave him the wrong information they began rolling their eyes and forcefully remade it (it still wasn't good). i really tried to like it but will never return. it was so bad. go to any other tea spot in the area.
