Where to Eat MICHELIN-Starred Indian Cuisine in London, Dubai and Beyond

"One-MICHELIN-Starred Chaat, located inside the Rosewood Hong Kong, reimagines Indian street food classics. The name, meaning “to lick” in Hindi, hints at the irresistible flavors on the menu. Highlights include oyster pani puri topped with Kristal caviar and a Delhi butter chicken in spiced tomato and fenugreek sauce. From the tandoor, the Badami chicken tikka is juicy and aromatic, thanks to a marinade of almond, black pepper and yogurt. Street food, but make it luxe." - The MICHELIN Guide

"‘Chaat’ means ‘to lick’ in Hindi, as the food here is so finger licking good. The menu covers an extensive range of pedigree Indian classics from spruced-up street snacks to ambitious creations based on tradition. The tandoori oven is put to good use as evidenced by their juicy, perfectly spiced black pepper chicken tikka. The glazed kitchen lets diners watch the chefs in action as they deliver an entertaining experience." - Michelin Inspector

The food was excellent and delicious—the samosa tart was a visual delight! Some service aspects could improve, though. We were with kids and requested a soft seat with more space, however this cannot be arranged, as it felt a bit cramped and wasn't kid-friendly. For the birthday cake, staff mentioned it might take a while if ordered through them from the downstairs cake shop. So we headed down, bought it ourselves for efficiency, and handed it to the manager to add the birthday message when serving. Unfortunately, they missed it, killing the surprise. They had to take it back to the kitchen to add on the message, and serve again. It would be much better if the celebration cake serve correctly in the first time.

This was the day when I wish I have a bigger appetite than normal - every dish was worth having. Twice. Samosa Tart was such a unique take on an Indian classic; the taste was authentic with a play on texture - a lot of thought was put into the ingredients and how they complement each other. As with the Old Delhi butter chicken, the sauce had everything tangy yet lightly sweet, spicy yet so smooth. I’ll admit I filled some of the sauce onto my plate and had it just by itself. Don’t judge, you’ll do the same if you try it! Grateful for our host Monica who patiently walked us through the menu and how they continually evolve it through listening to what the customers like. Nice bit of history and context that made the night extra special.

food was so so good!!! everything so rich and flavourful and MAYBE they decreased spice level for us BUT it was a nice level of spice and complemented all dishes well. i LOVED the fish curry - the fish was so fresh and the sauce was so good for dipping asw. butter chicken was good as expected; my dad rly liked the burrata palak one but i was not as big of a fan; beef cheek was delish as well - so soft it's unreal. only complaint is that the chaat is a bit dry vibe was super nice too and the service was really good! i will be back to eat again

One of the best Indian food but very pricey. The quality is amazing of course, as it's in a renowned 5 star hotel. Must be booked restaurant. As it's always full. The service and atmosphere is amazing and they are real tentative. The best is the lamb chop and the tandoori chicken curry. Also the beef cheek.

Top tier Indian cuisine in Hong Kong! We had the lunch set menu and everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The food was more spicy than I had expected but it was still enjoyable and gave a nice flavourful kick to my taste buds. Moreover, the waitress was very attentive and took her time to explain every dish’s cooking process as well as its flavourful profile. Furthermore, the atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and relaxing which enhanced the dining experience. To sum it all up, I highly recommend this culinary experience!

I loved the atmosphere and service. I was however disappointed with how spicy the food was. Every dish was too spicy. Even the butter chicken was spicy. I've never had spicy butter chicken before. I am a super taster and find spicy food just takes away from any flavors. I also found it very expensive.

Fantastic food and service. Best Indian food I’ve had in a while. The lobster mango curry is mind blowing. The lamb biryani has an innovative twist and yet super delicious! I also loved the samosa tart (what presentation!) and the chaat tandoori platter. Hard to pick a favourite dish since Everything was perfection. Can’t wait to be back!

IG: @jojo_gourmand Hidden deep within the Rosewood Hotel Hong Kong is CHAAT, aptly named after the Hindi word for “to lick.” The irresistible fragrance, impeccable quality, and distinct layers of flavor and texture make it hard to resist the urge to lick each plate clean. The samosa here is a revelation, reimagined into a cone shape that intensifies in spice with each bite. Packed with jackfruit meat, sweet peas, and garam masala, it immediately awakened my taste buds. The tandoori wagyu beef cheek, unbelievably tender, paired perfectly with yogurt Kashmiri chili sauce, striking a beautiful balance between salty, sweet, and sour. TIME TO RAVE ABOUT THE OLD DELHI BUTTER CHICKEN because the one here is unlike any I’ve tried before. The chef uses two brands of tomatoes: an Italian brand for color and sweetness, and a local brand for a touch of sourness. A generous amount of cashew nuts and caramelized onions adds a refreshingly creamy texture, while the sweetness from honey adds body. (A new core memory) The finesse and expertise of the chef and service team truly push the boundaries of what Indian fine dining can be. 🗺️ Indian Regional Cuisine ⭐️ Michelin One-Starred 🏷️ HK$600+
