Yelp
Chacho's is decent when you aren't looking for anything fancy or anything overly expensive. It is run-down with sticky floors at times, heat lamps everywhere, dirty tables, but the food is good for that moment when you are so hangry you aren't expecting anything over the top.
I've been to this location a few times over the rest just because, "hey, there's not one that merely close to my house." Usually, when I am visiting my guy friend and we want to get some yummy nachos we come here.
The Monster Kong Nachos (1/2 or Full size) is definitely the best thing to order if you are looking for "party food" for everyone. I mean, come on, we are in Texas, Houston, Texas, a city that is filled with plenty of Tex-Mex and people who love Mexican food, even if it isn't the real thing that you can get in Mexico.
It's all good sometimes. Now, the Monster Kong Nachos, the first time I had them it was the 1/2 sized for two people, wow, "can you say, too much for two people", literally.
My favorites are the shredded chicken and the beef fajitas. Now, talk about it is marinated, delicious, far from dry meat, but juicy goodness. I was amazed!
However, the full-size nachos aren't evenly proportionate throughout the chips. One-half you have cheesy soggy-ness, another half you have evenly, but in the middle, under all the cheese, meat, beans, you have a naked chip that didn't get any of what was above it.
That tells me that it wasn't layered when prepared, but rather just thrown in the styrofoam container. Now, that isn't a big issue, but come on if you gonna do something right, do it right.
All nachos come fully with my favorite side condiment: Sour cream! So good, creamy and slightly sour. Guacamole, no extra charge, it was good with tiny chunks of avocados in it and then your choice of salsas.
Total with tax for the full-sized nachos is $27. If you are looking at the menu online via the website, it is out-dated as it reads $22.99.
Even if you order the breakfast plate it is plenty of food to keep you full all day long.
Also, you gotta get here early on the weekends because it gets packed real quick, even the drive-thru is long.
