A Guide to the Best Wineries For Day Trips Just Outside Philly | Eater Philly

"Set on five lovely acres with a casual, fun ambiance, Chaddsford produces sparkling, sweet, and dry wines from familiar European grapes like pinot grigio and cabernet sauvignon as well as French-American hybrids such as chambourcin, noiret, and the floral vignoles; winemaker Gabriel Rubilar crafts easy-drinking, well-made wines while more serious reserve styles are also available. The winery is open seven days a week, offers lawn space for blankets and a shaded picnic area, welcomes walk-ins though weekend table service reservations are recommended, and requires reservations for immersive experiences like the hour-long Barrel Room tasting; fall winery tours are led by head wine educator and manager Rachel Rhan." - Eater

The wine, vibes and hospitality is top tier. For red, white or sweet wine lovers this winery is it. Friends and I went for the adult trick or treat event and tried five different wines paired with food. Awesome tour guide and learned a lot about the history of the property. Perfect for Sunday fun day!

We love chaddsford! We do a lot of their events for example the adult trick or treat and others. Not sure how long they have been doing this $25 pasta and glass of wine deal but i do not recommend it. The pasta was terrible! It just was not good at all. No flavor at all, consistency was bad. I know they don’t have a kitchen on site but it could have been way better. Now will that keep me from coming back absolutely not. We’ve been going for years and we will continue to attend and support because we generally love the location. We love coming to buy a few bottles and hang out at the tables and chill. We love the events they have every so often. AND obviously we love their wine! I loved that they are trying different things but the pasta & wine deal is a no for me. But everything else is solid! I love when they have food vendors sometimes too. It really is a beautiful peaceful and fun environment that’s family, friend or date friendly. For others dog friendly lol Some of my top faves are spiced apple, sangria, Good vibes only & Niagara!

Google
I really enjoyed my visit to this winery. The ambience is warm and inviting, and the staff are incredibly nice and welcoming—truly a highlight of the experience. While the wines themselves aren’t exactly my favorite, they’re still enjoyable, especially when paired with good company, some cheese, and a few crackers. Overall, a charming spot worth visiting for the atmosphere and the great service.

Awful management, customer service and ticketing system. I purchased tickets for an event and had issues that l needed to speak to management about. I emailed the winery 2x about the issue requesting management to contact me and called and left a message. I was told by the hostess that management would call me back. They never called me back or acknowledged my email. The first issue is the ticketing system is blinded and doesn’t show how many tickets are available, which should be shown. The second issue is that my request to contact me was ignored not 1 but 3 times. This is completely unacceptable and the poorest level of customer service l have ever experienced in my life. The staff and management need to receive training on how to provide quality customer service and acknowledge customer issues. Their approach is they just ignore you as they simply don’t care. The event that l attended which was the Adult Trick and Treat was also a disappointment, and certainly not worth the money they charged. Thier parking lot also has no lighting, which is a safety concern when it’s dark and you are walking to your car.

Google
Wish there was something lower. Now wines are good. But if u get a gift card online it can’t be used in their stores and to order online costs u a bottle in shipping alone. That is not biggest complaint. When we tried to use in store manager was going to look into it and get back to us. Month later still not a word. Wrote company three different times again not a word. If that’s their customer service well there’s tons of different wineries around that will treat u better.

Google
This winery is truly amazing, everything here is so perfectly planned out and set up to make an amazing experience. The staff is super friendly and goes above and beyond to make your experience memorable. In particular I had the pleasure of being served by Aidan, hes just a good guy, there's no other way to put it. Hes very knowledgeable on the wine list and helped recommend an amazing wine.

Google
Lovely winery. Numerous sitting rooms and plenty of outdoor seating. Great staff and even better wine. The events are nice as well.

Google
I really enjoyed the rustic ambiance of this winery. They have dry wines and sweet wines. The only fruit wine they had was an apple wine. I chose a sweet wine flight and everything I tried was very good. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Yelp
The adult trick or treating was such a great event! I have multiple food allergies, so finding safe food can be sketchy for me, but ever single booth had a prepackaged (no cross contamination, yay!) food pairing that was top 9 free, and it was an equal swap! they did amazing, and our tour guide was fantastic too!!

Yelp
After a long day, visiting Longwood Gardens, I did a U-turn on the way to my hotel when I saw Chaddford Winery. When I arrived, I was the only one there and I knew they were getting ready for a private event in just over an hour. I selected the 2023 carbonic Cabernet Franc, which was a great value at only $10 and I really enjoyed it. It won a sommelier's award as a top 10 Pennsylvania wine. The winery is very cozy with multiple rooms. I sat in a comfortable leather couch and thumbed through a wine book that was on the table while I enjoyed my wine. Employees were friendly and remained busy on work related tasks.

Yelp
My fiancé and I visited here for their adult trick-or-treating event, and overall it was a fun experience! Our tour guide, Melanie, was amazing....super friendly, knowledgeable, and made the visit really enjoyable. The wines, however, were just okay in our opinion. We went through the full lineup with paired treats: Fall Sangria Spritz, The White Standard with Old Bay Kettle Corn, Dry Rosé with Hop & Spicy Cheese Curds, Harbinger with a churro cookie, Good Vibes Only with chocolate hazelnut, and Spiced Apple with a pumpkin spice cake pop. The pairings were cute and seasonal, but the wines themselves didn't wow us. Overall, a fun outing for the atmosphere and the event, but the wines didn't quite live up to the hype. But we did hear of some possible paranormal activity going on...that might bring us back! Overall the experience was fun, but we aren't quite sure if we would return.

Yelp
This is such a great spot to hang out on a nice sunny day! They have some outdoor seating but check ahead if there is an event it will be hard to find a spot but if you can't get as table there is lots of space for set up a folding chair or picnic blanket. I would also recommend on days where there are events to get there right at or just before opening - especially if you don't have a reservation. The staff is so friendly and we didn't have to wait long when we went to the bar to get drinks. The property is really nice. I got the white wine flight and it was really refreshing! I really like that you can bring your own food so we grabbed sandwiches in Kennett and brought them with and then ordered some cheese and crackers there to eat with some honey we brought. Definitely add to your list of places to go this summer!
google avatar

Kalani G.

Yelp
Had a great first visit to this Winery! So glad I got to finally visit Chaddsford for their summer kickoff. They had several food trucks, live music and great vibes. Another bonus was they offered wine flights, not just wine by the glass and bottle and the flights were under $20 which was a great deal. Friendly people and very family friendly make this place a win.

Ari C.

Yelp
Update: The winery has since responded claiming that I reserved tables for 20 people--this is simply incorrect. My actual reservation was for a table of 6 and two separate tables for 2. This is visible on the screenshots I posted. After I sent a message asking to modify the number of guests, THATS when I was informed that this wasnt allowed. To be clear, there were no rules or limitations posted anywhere on their website regarding a limit on how many firepit tables a person can reserve. I'm not sure if that has changed after this incident, but it wasn't posted at the time this incident occurred. Their attempt to twist the facts feels manipulative and frankly, gaslighting. It's one thing to mishandle a reservation--but to misrepresent what actually happened in order to justify abruptly canceling it without my confirmation is unacceptable. This kind of behavior shows a serious lack of integrity and accountability. This experience was not only disappointing--it was disrespectful, especially with the follow-up response.

Yelp
A quaint, homey experience. Think of it as a cross between your favorite neighborhood bar, with elements of a wine bar. Staff was super friendly, and the seating in the tasting room is perfectly cozy for a date or group outing with friends. Really enjoyed the Sparkling White, the Vidal Blanc, the Harbinger and Timing is Everything. The Spiced Apple wines are perfect for the colder months - be prepared for debate as to whether you prefer it chilled or warmed. I also highly recommend this the sangria. It has a very unique flavor - fruity, light, floral, sweet and fruit forward. Perfect for the warmer mont

Yelp
Wine selection and service was top notch. Fun way to spend the day - the location is lovely.

Yelp
I haven't been here in many years still a great vibe I enjoy the openness that Chad Ford has. The staff was nice or wine came quick and are crackers and cheese was a nice time very nice for date day or night.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped here last weekend. It was a rainy day so not a lot of people were sitting outside but the hostess told us we could sit wherever. I ordered the spring flight and the ladies that helped me out lined up the bottles and glasses so I could take a insta worthy pic! They were great sports about it haha. The wine was delicious! We enjoyed our time there and can't wait to come back for an event :)

Renee U.

Yelp
Recently attended a wine tasting. It was a wine and chocolate pairing. The staff were very knowledgeable and entertaining. It was fun to see how the chocolate would change how the wine tasted. We had a great time!

Yelp
A lovely way to pass a few hours deep in Delco! Or maybe Chester? I don't even know but the area is very lovely and the wine here was even more so. I don't feel the need to do a tour or guided taste testing or anything like that, seen one winery or brewery you've seen them all. But I do enjoy a nice wine flight and wedge of cheese. Especially whilst on a comfy couch. The little bistro area was the perfect and most comfortable setting for enjoying good wine, cheese, and company. I appreciated the hospitality of the staff here. Their apple wine is what keeps me coming back, but everything I tried was great. I really loved the sangria as well. Good cheese, good wine, and a cozy setting...all the trappings of a great afternoon!

Yelp
Stopped in after spending many hours at Longwood Gardens 5 minutes down the road. We were greeted by a cheerful fellow who explained what was on offer. The place is like a rustic upscale barn. We grabbed the couch and comfy chair. There are a couple of wine books to pass the time. My wife enjoyed them. We got a couple of flights a dry Chardonnay varietal, a red blend standard with 90% Marshall Foch 10% Chancellor, and a Merlot varietal. My wife subbed the last with a sweet rose. The white was ok. The red blend was all Foch and we liked it. It is easily distinguishable from most other grapes. It was delicious. The merlot was very dry and I should have had it before the Foch. It was tasty and had good flavors. A nice early afternoon stop. Mark & Nancy.

Yelp
Beautiful winery with great service. All the employees were extremely nice and accommodating. Fell in love with almost all the sweet wines lol. U can bring your own food but there was a pizza food truck on site and it was pretty good! I def will return to pick up some bottles for girls night:)

Yelp
Enjoyed a tasting on a Friday afternoon. Chaddsford is cozy and inviting with a few different seating areas that include tables, couches and large armchairs. The service was awesome and very friendly. Our expectations were more than met by the wines. We really enjoyed the Vidal Blanc and The Red Standard. I would really recommend checking this place out if you are in the area. I will be making a point to get back here when the weather is nicer and we can enjoy their outdoor spaces.

Yelp
I took my dad to the holiday wine tasting at Chaddsford Winery and had a wonderful time! We had five tastings, some snacks, and got a really thorough overview of all of the wines and how to pair them. After, we grabbed a glass of wine in the main area & had a terrific experience. Everyone was so nice and we had such a fun time. We'll definitely back!

Yelp
First time visiting this winery. Seated in an isolated tiny room, no atmosphere, no server so we left. Large groups were there but we weren't given the option to be seated amongst other people. Very strange experience to say the least.

Yelp
Well. ( yawns) so this was my first time going to a winery and I just wasn't impressed. I don't know what I was particularly expecting, I guess I thought I would have some oohs and aahs but nope it was just a mediocre experience of expensive wine in a fairly small building. I came to their chilli and chowder festival and it was packed with so many people. We were able to visit each station and sample two of their wines which were the 17 presage which had flavors of honey, peach apple and pear. We also sampled the 16th standard which had flavors of strawberry and black cherry. The wines were okay and I did heard their ciders were delicious. Overall Chaddsford Winery host many different events throughout the year. If you go out to their back parking lot you can see a beautiful view of ducks in a lake. I'll visit another winery to get a different experience but not sure if I'll be rushing back to Chaddsford.

Yelp
Chaddsford Winery is about a 45-minute drive from my house but it was well worth the trip. The winery is beautiful and quaint and the staff is very friendly with fast and efficient service. I took my mother wine tasting and we had a fabulous time. It was too cool to sit outside so we opted for the indoor tasting room, which had a relaxed vibe. We went on a week day so we didn't need reservations. We each got a tasting flight -- I had the Something Sweet with Sunset Blush, Sangria and Niagara. My mom did a mixed flight with Traminette, Harbinger and Dry Rose Redux. Although the Something Sweet flight was a little too sweet, the Sunset Blush was perfect and I took a bottle home. Sofia, the wine associate, was very pleasant and took the time to discuss the history of Chaddsford Winery as well as share food pairings for each wine. You can tell she loves her job, is very knowledgeable and contributes to a culture that is intimate and welcoming. I'm looking forward to returning and sampling the Fall Flavors wine flight.

Yelp
We booked the Festive faves wine tasting for our first time visiting the winery! Our guide, River, was knowledgeable and answered so many of our questions about the winemaking process. Both the wines and pairings were well thought out and delicious--we only wish the website specified where each element of the pairings was from because we were on a hunt for them afterwards.
google avatar

Bari D.

Yelp
Informative and fun wine tasting in the barrel room. Nice pairings and good conversation.
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
I love it here! The sweet flight is my go-to and during this rainy stormy day, the I side tasting room was comfy and cozy. In the cooler weather, the fire pits come out and can be reserved. Great space! The people are super nice & helpful recommending things in the area too. Definitely make this a stop!
google avatar

Theresa S.

Yelp
Come here all the time with our two small children, great place for some good wine, social distancing, and outdoor time. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the wine is great! I typically stop in to buy a few bottles regularly as well to take home. The only negative is that unless there is a food truck there, the food available is very limited.
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
The wines here were a 4, but the service was a 10, so that is why Chaddsford Winery earned itself a 5. I will preface this by saying that we came for a 4:30 wine tasting, which was at the end of the day, so we had the privilege of having the staff to ourselves. Lucy, was our main server, but was more of a concierge. She was unbelievably knowledgeable not only about the wine, but everything it would pair well with. She was great conversation and able to handle all of my friend's off the wall questions. It's a shame she is going to be moving to Portland (which will be perfect for her) but at least they still have amazing staff like Kate who joined us at the end. Wine-wise, we are a fan of reds. The reds for the most part were solid, but standard. The one that stood out was the Harbinger. We could really taste the black cherry with hints of vanilla! My friend bought a bottle. I especially liked theory Apple wine cold (it lost a little flavor warmed) and the holiday sangria (which was excellent warm). I bought bottles of both. As for the whites, we only tried the Presage, but we both loved its refreshing taster of Asian pear and apple. So much so that red-wine loving friend bought a bottle. Lucy and Kate told us of the many events at the winery through the year including "Adult" Trick or Treating, Slushy Fest, Bacon Fest, and jazz and country music festivals. We anticipate coming back many times for these!
google avatar

Yelp
Eh. This place has potential, but I just wasn't impressed. This was my first time going to a winery so I really wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, but this was pretty underwhelming. The "table service" is just a reserved seat on the patio -- which doesn't overlook anything by the way. On a Saturday afternoon, I expected it to be vibrant, but the ambiance was severely lacking. Wine was just okay also. We really didn't get a history of the winery or anything like that. For all we know, this could've been someone else's wine just rebranded. We saw that many people packed a lunch to come here, which I thought was a little strange. However, I understood when I noticed the winery just resold DiBruno Brothers items at an insane markup on their menu. They have a food truck that comes in, but I want going to spend almost $20 for a personal sized pizza. In all, I was left confused by Chadds Ford Winery. Probably wouldn't come back unless the ambiance and food selections were better.

Yelp
We were there Sunday 3/26 for the food truck festival. We purchased vip tickets, and very glad we did! Our host Corey was amazing as was the tour, the grounds, and most of all the wine. We had an absolute blast and would and will go again. Cant say enough good things about the winery

Christina L.

Yelp
Went to a wine tasting yesterday . Staff was nice and very knowledgeable about the wine . Our host River was amazing and made the tasting fun. I enjoyed the wine and the pairings.
google avatar

Kaitlyn G.

Yelp
We came here for my best friends 26th birthday back in July and it was absolutely perfect! For a Saturday at about noon, there was plenty of outdoor seating. There happened to be an event happening -- like an adult summer camp with games and wine (an absolute dream!!), the food truck of the day was a crab cake truck that was BOMB and they had the wine popsicles flowing! We brought our own cheese board, birthday cake and few other snacks but they do have some things available at their little snack stand in conjunction with the food trucks! Would totally recommend to a friend and I'll for sure be

Yelp
I had such a fun time at the Halloween event, hope to do it and other things in the future
google avatar

Shalisa B.

Yelp
I love the winery and it's especially beautiful in the fall. Today was my second or third time visiting and my friend and I went for the adult trick or treat event. It was such a nice day and the event was just long enough. We had 5 different tastings and 4 of them were paired with local goods. After the trick or treat tour people were able to have picnics and buy wine by the glass for consumption on the grounds. I bought a couple of bottles to take home. It was the perfect day, I just wish we could have went into the store to browse more wines.

Bonnie B.

Yelp
Great day trip! Booked the Artisan Tasting for a birthday weekend kickoff and it was so much fun. Nick, the host, did a wonderful job explaining each wine in the flight and giving an overall history and snapshot of the property and wine making process. The buildings are really cool, so many historic details. They have a food truck with homeade pizzas. The wines are light but tasty. Highly reccomend their new sparkling rose - not too sweet, perfect for a sunny afternoon!

Cara D.

Yelp
Beautiful winery with great service! We recently got engaged at Chaddsford winery and the staff was beyond accommodating in making all of our plans happen! Lisa was a huge help in planning our party at Chaddford and making sure that we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend this winery!
google avatar

Kaylee H.

Yelp
Chaddsford Winery & their crew are always impressing me! From their affordable, delicious wines (and slushees!!!) to the staff's professionalism and kindness during their tours. Corey & his team are always an upmost pleasure to work with. I definitely recommend CFW for any fall day activity or private event.

Yelp
Visited: Saturday - April 28, 2018 - 1PM BaconFest 2018 First time visit was a truly fun experience. I was directed to park along the perimeter of the winery - parking was a breeze. Several food trucks and food stands offered bacon and non-bacon related food products. Oh yeh, had a couple wine samplings and bought a couple bottles of wine. I had many fine conversations with fellow-fest attendees. A band played while the sunny, warm, weather enhanced the experience.
google avatar

Rena H.

Yelp
I spent a lovely afternoon here with some friends. We made a reservation for outdoor seating and they allowed us to stay at our table a little longer than we were supposed to. The wines we had were delicious and refreshing. My favorite was the sparkling white. We brought our own glasses to drink from as well as our own food, but there was a food truck near the tables. Our waitress was so kind and extremely knowledgeable of their wines and what they would pair best with. I've been very cautious with dining during Covid, but Chaddsford Winery took every precaution seriously and I felt safe and respected throughout my experience.
google avatar

Suha V.

Yelp
Plz if you're going to serve white wine , serve it chilled and NOT room temp. That's just a given

Rob C.

Yelp
My wife and I had some friends visiting for a long weekend so we took them to a tasting at Chaddsford. It was really great, a very affordable and informing tasting. The wine is decent, but layout and ambience is amazing. Large and beautiful property. A great place to spend a few hours with family and friends. The staff was very polite and helpful. We decided to buy a bottle and drink it outside on their patio, which was great because they had a fire pits and a heated tent set up. Also had a food truck there with great food options. Very kid friendly, we had two kids under 3 and many other groups had kids with them. Our friends loved it, it was a big hit!! There are also several great restaurants and antique shops right by the winery. Great place to attend an event or spend a afternoon! Highly recommend you try!!

Tina E.

Yelp
We attended the Adult Trick or Treat at Chaddsford Winery today. Our tour guide was fabulous, but a male employee at check in was rude and condescending on two occasions when members of our group asked simple questions. I work in the service industry and it is unacceptable to treat paying guests disrespectfully. This put a damper on an otherwise nice experience.
google avatar

Jon T.

Yelp
My family and I had a great evening at this winery. The evening we went reservations were full but walk in are accepted. There was music and areas to walk around. The wine selection was small and served in plastic cups. I am not sure if this is due to covid or the event they had but it def draws from the feel of being at a winery. Felt more like an outside festival where they have wine and beer served. All in all the environment and atmosphere was relaxing and an enjoyable evening.

Yelp
Lovely location, but not so great wine. You can get a partial tasting for $10 or full 11 wine tasting for $15 (although they give a military discount). There was a food truck in front when I visited. But I see this place as more as an events center that makes its own wine than a traditional 'winery'. Why do I say this? While Chaddsford makes wine it doesn't grow their own grapes, which are sourced from PA or its immediate surroundings. As an advocate of the theory that growing good grapes is the most important part of making wine, to me that's quite a no-no. That theory was proven in the tasting. I did the full tasting, and found most of the wines were "Meh". More than a few ended up in the dump bucket. One positive exception was the Blush, which was made with the Stuben grape - quite the novelty for me. I also liked the Holiday Spiced wine made with Concord. When heated up, the Holiday becomes a mulled wine - and without even having to add your own spices.

Yelp
Wine slushies. Live music. Outdoor seating. Gorgeous grounds. This is what one can expect on a summer day at this winery out near Longwood Gardens. It's not too far from Philadelphia (less than an hour), but it is still far enough away to give you that feeling of "getting away from the city" for a bit, so that's nice. Before indulging in our wine slushies, my roommate and I purchased tickets -- $7 each for a tasting and keepsake etched wine glass -- and headed inside to the tasting room. On our way in, we passed through the store, which is stocked with some cute wine-gear and plenty of Chaddsford wines. I wasn't a complete stranger to the business before my arrival. I'm a big fan of the Niagara wine and have had a bottle of Sangria sitting on my wine rack at home since my boss gifted it to me for Christmas last year. (It was, however, nice to actually *try* the Sangria..) If you like lighter wines, you'll like this winery. If you're more of a cab, syrah, merlot-type of person, eh. They have some options, but their specialities seem to be the sweeter, more-accessible wines. I really enjoyed the Chaddsford White, as did my roommate, and we both purchased bottles. A new favorite of mine is also the Sunset Blush. I chose that one for my slushie outside and it was deliiiicious. What capped off a great day? When purchasing a few bottles of wine, the lady ringing me up asked if I had a good time. She seemed genuinely interested, too. I just thought that was so nice. Maybe that's something small, but it was really appreciated. I'll be back this fall for their October trick-or-treating event and can't wait!

Yelp
Ok - I preface this review with saying - I absolutely love this place and have loved it for years!! I like the location - the events/festivals that they host during the spring/summer months. The grounds are lovely and the outdoor seating is spacious - especially if you bring your own chair and blanket. I love to do this when live bands are playing. I live in the city, so going out to this countryside retreat that is only 35 minutes away makes me feel that I have taken a lovely day trip hours away. Now onto the wine selections. I usually like to go when there are wine tastings events because the costs are usually below $10/pp. I enjoy tasting all that the winery has to offer. I really enjoy the whit proprietors reserve - one of my favs (if you enjoy a dry white - go for it). The Cab/Merlot mix is great for a red. If you enjoy the sweeter wines - try the niagara and sunset blush. I recommend this as a cool "day date" - what can be better than spending time at a winery with wines that actually taste good.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the Winery. Wines were yummy! Cheese and pretzels were a good paring. The wait staff was excellent. Very informative and helpful. Would highly recommend the experience!

Can you say super customer service I placed an order 1 day and it was delivered via FedEx the very next day!!! Awesome Please remember to support our community

Yelp
I am fan of this place. While visiting a good friend in Delaware she purchased a Groupon for a tasting at this place. We went on a Wednesday at 2pm and did not leave until 6pm. So you already know we drank all the wine...lol The tasting included about 7-9 different wines. Our host was awesome...very thorough and didn't seem to mind our chattiness. The tasting amounts were generous hence why the tasting alone was over 45 mins. Afterward I ended up buying 3 bottles to take back home. Then we got a bottle, crackers and cheese to take to the front patio. We killed that bottle and ate all the crackers and cheese. I should say I really killed the bottle since my friend had to be the responsible one and get us back safely....lol I will definitely make my way back here again!

We stopped here on a whim. We were headed back to Pittsburgh. This winery was surprisingly great. The guy that helped us out had just started in the business in July. He seemed to know so much about wine in a short period of time. He provided us different tastes of wines that were not even on the list. We loved everyone that we tried. We only got maybe 4-6 bottles to take with us. The reds and whites are very good. One of the interesting facts that we learned here. They had a bad harvest a couple of years ago. They use growers from other wineries in North East and NY near our house. Our favorite winery in NY is Johnson Estate Winery. They use their grapes to produce some of their wine. This is a cool place. Nice atmosphere. Seems like a cool place to go have a glass and hang out. Check this establishment out.

Yelp
I had been here years ago and was out off by the overly sweet wines they were offering. Went recently and was presently surprised at the wines that were available now. The samples I had were all very nice, fruity without being too sweet. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Brought my gf and her husband here for a surprise late bday gift and we enjoyed our time here, I believe it was more the company than the experience that made this visit nice. I got us all tickets for the Adult trick or treat pairing on 9/30/17 and i have to say i was a bit let down by what they paired the wines with. There were 5 stations, some had more than 1 to try. But the treat pairings really could've used help. My bf was literally pointed out that one station had peanut chews and peeps. One station I believe was station 2 literally had cookies that looked like they were grocery store brand just set out on a plate, then there wasn't enough put out so one guest just reached over and grabbed them all. We just wanted to get our cider and ale at the same time so we can get out the cramped hut. I would suggest maybe next time they have these treats in individual cups or more than 1 person manning the fort bc i felt so bad for the 1 guy trying to pour wine and beer and put out snacks. Giving this place a 3 start bc I really enjoyed the wines and loved their cider; although I have to agree the pours seemed a bit lite for the price we had paid. The person who hands you your passport also gives you a bag of Herr's chips. You get to keep the Halloween wine glass which was nice but make sure you clean it out before your 1st pour bc there was a bunch of cardboard box bits in my friends glass. I have to say my favorite station was station 5, the sorbet & ice cream. We all thought the sorbet flavor was good but we all got the same weird paper bits in it, like a paper mache had got in it, but the 2 ice creams were realllllyyy good. I wish they sold that icecream in the shop I would've bought a gallon, but the guy serving us said it was from Gemelli's in West Chester. I didn't know what to expect of this place, I will return for more wine and cider purchases but maybe no more tastings. I definitely recommend bringing more snacks or buy some from the shop, or buy from the food trucks there and just sit back, sip, bite & enjoy the live music.

Yelp
I live around he corner from chadds ford winery. I have purchased wine at Christmas for gifts but haven't really enjoyed it for many years. My daughter and I went a few weekends ago and sat for some great music, some nice wine and a cheese plate from the food truck that was there. It was a nice crowd. The music was nice, great sound and not too loud. I like their sangria and the store inside is newly redone and looks great. Weekends they are bringing in food trucks so the food is always changing. Reasonable prices even though it wasn't my favorite cheese. Fun place, relaxing and tasty!
