Chadwick’s definitely delivered! The Buttermilk Biscuits with the Honey butter and house jam were warm and delicious, the Spicy Chicken Egg Rolls had the perfect kick, and both the Chadwick’s Club sandwich and the Chicken François were full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The service was great from the moment we walked in to the time we were seated and served. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming staff made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely fantastic brunch. Loved the buttery biscuots, crab dip, crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, and the key lime pie and mud pie were excellent. Loved the $5 bloody marys

This place is a perfect place to go for a happy hour. I thoroughly enjoyed the crabcakes and the buffalo wings. They were cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is perfect to go after work. They have also really great prices for drinks like $5 drafts. Overall, my favorite food has to be the crabcakes and the apple pie with ice cream not picture because I ate it all. :) I highly recommend you check it out and the parking is not too bad.

I just went to Chadwick’s for brunch and loved it! The food and service were wonderful. They have a great variety of savory/sweet brunch food, mocktails, and cocktails! The fried chicken and French toast is a must! Also, the ambience is so cozy and fun!

First time here. Atmosphere is nostalgic of a quaint pub. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The blackberry hard cider was excellent. Got the buttermilk fried chicken the first night (yes I took a bite before taking the pic) the bacon gravy was out of this world. Liked it so much we went back the next night. The owner remembered us and was super friendly and welcoming. French dip was also very good. He even gave me bacon gravy for my fries. Thank you for making this trip memorable with amazing food and hospitality. Will definitely be back when visiting again. There will be a next time for sure. Also, it is down by the waterfront so you can see National Harbor from outside. We watched the fireworks for a bit on the 3rd.

It's time to grab lunch. I scoped out a few places but I noticed this place has fried green tomatoes on the menu. My tastebuds were tempted so I popped in. I sat at the bar and the vibe was comfy, relaxed with sports on all of the televisions -- a good thing! I needed a jump start so I had a Red Bull. Then I ordered fried green tomatoes to start. I like that they cut them in manageable slices sitting on top of bacon jam topped with a mild jalapeño foam. Yum, tasty! I was given hot sauce to try on the tomatoes and, yep, it is really is Damn Good Sauce -- fo' sho!! The sauce added a slight heat and was a good compliment to the tomatoes. So I was torn between shrimp and grits or French toast. I had both of them by asking for a side order of French Toast. Okay, I know the French Toast came with syrup but the whipped butter had a sweet, cinnamon taste that I did not use the syrup. As for the shrimp and grits it was a good portion. It had bacon and caper sprinkled in that those flavors elevated the dish. To top it off I splashed some Damn Good Sauce on it. By now I was getting full at this point so I made sure to eat all of the shrimps. I enjoyed the presentation and textures of each delish dish. I was told the Damn Good Sauce is made locally so I will buy some soon, yum! Overall it was good food and friendly service.

When we walked in customer service was great. They played a great selection of music during our dining experience. Our waiter was great. I grew up in Maryland so I love crabs. We got the crab dip it was okay. The crabmeat wasn't good quality lump, however the flavoring of the dip was good and the pita chips were delicious. Didn't like the jambalaya; the rice was sticky and overcooked, the sausage wasn't tasty. Overall I wouldn't recommend. The ribs were falling off the bone and were decent. Didn't like the crabcake. The fried chicken breast was well seasoned and pretty good. Overall the food was okay, I've had better.

Google
Our meal and beers unforgettable because of KAREN’s smile. KAREN is the best bartender there, by far. KAREN has great menu knowledge and ensured we had a great time. KAREN will run out of her way, works hard, and has fun! Kept the bar clean by pre-bussing the appetizers, our 1st time stepping into this restaurant. KAREN at Bar is AMAZING!!! KAREN is beyond exemplary, very patient, and very friendly and informative with menu choices. Next time you go, ask to sit with Karen. Every other “employee” (not saying their staff are lazy!) there was mostly forgettable. Tell a Manager to give KAREN a raise!!! ASAP. Or else, there will be numerous consequences…

Yelp
First time at Chadwick's for brunch and let's just say I'd easily go back! Our server was amazing, she took good care of us from start to finish. I enjoyed their espresso martini with my steak and eggs off their brunch menu. It was quite busy so highly recommended to get there early! Now that I know how tasty their brunch is, I'll have to come back and enjoy some more things on the menu!

Yelp
TLDR: Chadwicks is your typical divey local watering hole spot in Old Town Alexandria offering up variety of food. Would recommend for game watching but keep the bar of expectation mid to low. This was my wife's and I first time visiting Chadwicks we came here as a JMU Football location. The first critique was we came in and was told the TVs were at the bar sections and we sat at a table in the section but the host failed to inform us that we needed to ask the bartender for menus and silverware. We literally sat for like 5-10 minutes before I went back to the hostess to ask and that's when I was told. This interaction is on the hostess not the bartender. On to the food, we were here for brunch hours and I opted for the Monte Cristo which was recommended by the bartender that and the home fries were really good. The chowder lacked salt and pepper big time but once we added, it was decent. The clams in it were a bit chewy for my liking. My wife had the Au Jus she said she liked it but it was dry in some areas. In all I would come back here for sure to bar dive or to watch a game and grab a pub-ish bite. Chadwick's doesn't try to be something it's not and that's a good thing.

Yelp
First time visiting DC, first time staying in Alexandria, Chadwick's was the very first restaurant we tried in the area. We stayed at Hotel Indigo, right down the block, and walked here for dinner after a late flight and hotel check-in. Food was great, service was meh, location is excellent. Parking would have been a challenge had we not been staying at the hotel, which included a garage parking space. Overall, I'd recommend trying Chadwick's. We ended up finding other spots in Alexandria with better ambiance but wouldn't mind coming back.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this spot. Wasn't super busy so I was seated upstairs immediately. Took a moment for the waiter to come but he did come with water in hand. For brunch mimosas at 5 bucks so I ordered a pineapple one. I always ask the staff what they enjoy on the menu. He recommended anything with salmon. I opted for the spicy chicken egg rolls and chicken francios with a side of home fries. The egg rolls were amazing, Crispy and hot. The chicken francios was good but i wasn't blown away. The French toast had a ton of butter sitting on top of it so it made it soggy so I wasn't a fan. The play list they had going was great. The ladies next to me asked for the pandora station because it truly was a vibe. I would absolutely come back.

Yelp
This is a great bar for going to hangout and drink with friends or grab a quick bite after a walk along the river. It is very spacious and I haven't had to wait when I come. The food is also actually very good for a bar! The service is great and if you don't know what to get, they make great suggestions.

Yelp
From the moment we entered until we left, it was so cozy and family friendly. Seeing so many families on a Sunday early afternoon was a good sign. We enjoyed all of our food and we had a full spread. After church, you want a heart warming meal that meets everyone's needs, some went lighter with a wrap, and some of us went full throttle brunch with mimosas & chicken Francois! The service was friendly and attentive. It was a perfect location just off the water in Old Town Alexandria. Huge fan and I will be back over and over!

Yelp
I've been to Chadwick's twice within the past two years and it was decent. However, I recently went and I was not impressed by the food. I had the crab dip and it was very watery in consistency and didn't have much of a taste. I also expected more from the fried chicken sandwich because I've had the wings before and they were tasty, but the fried chicken sandwich was bland.

Yelp
We had our Bookclub meeting here last night and it was great. The place was pretty packed so we sat outside. The waiter was very nice. The appetizers were delicious, we had the crab dip and the green fried tomatoes. I ordered the salmon with rice and green beans, it was maybe missing a sauce on the salmon but that than that it was cooked to perfection. I also had an apple pie for dessert and they heated it up with a scoop of ice cream, it was to die for.

Yelp
I had read a few reviews about this place and decided to come for dinner... As we walked in, there was a guy lounging on a chair right at the entrance, who asked us if we were looking to have dinner...we said Yes. He grabbed a couple of menus and showed us to a table....the odd thing is that he was not standing up waiting to greet people like most hosts would....but lounging....LOL. Luis was our server and he was very nice and attentive. We got some IPAs (delish) and some really good food...I got the salmon and my husband got the buttermilk fried chicken plate. Both were really well done and deliciously prepared. The portions were adequate..not huge...but not small either... Great place with a nice cozy vibe....located in an old brick and stone buidling...

Yelp
Chadwick's will always have a special place in my heart because it is where my husband and I had our first date. We have also continued coming here throughout the years. It has a great location near the water and a varied menu. They are open for lunch, dinner, as well as brunch. It is also a big place so typically not a wait to get a table, there is an upstairs as well as a downstairs seating area and a large bar. This time we came with a couple friends for dinner and we were sat downstairs in this side area. It is almost like an enclosed patio with a big front window, stone walls, and lots of pretty string lights coming from the ceiling. In my opinion it's the best area to sit at for ambiance. We started our menu with a round of drinks as well as an order of the Spicy Chicken Egg Rolls. They were warm and nicely fried served with a sweet chili sauce. A first we weren't given small plates so it was bit challenging to eat and dip until we asked and got some. But overall a solid starter. For my entree I got the Buttermilk Fried Chicken which is typically a Fried Chicken breast, bacon gravy, mac & cheese, coleslaw, and a biscuit. You are able to swap the sides for whenever of your choosing so I got veggie of the day (broccoli) instead of slaw. It was a nice sized portion, but the taste of some components left a little bit to be desired. The chicken was moist and had good breading. But when fried chicken isn't on the bone it just is not the same. There was absolutely no seasoning on the broccoli. Thank goodness for the bacon gravy which was tasty and honestly wish I had a bit more of it. Their Mac and cheese wasn't anything special, but was fine. My husband however got the Short Ribs entree which were braised birria short ribs, consommé, mashed potatoes, and sautéed spinach. He let me have a few bites and honestly he won dish of the evening. It was a well plated and executed dish. Everything on the plate worked well together and the consommé was so flavorful and helped to elevate everything else. Might get this one in the future for myself

Yelp
Went to Chadwick's for brunch and had a lovely experience! The location is beautiful. Perfect for a nice afternoon on the patio. I ordered the shrimp and grits (confirmed gluten free) and buffalo wings and hummus with a side of vegetables. The shrimp and grits may be my new favorite in the DMV area! I also had the jalapeño cucumber margarita and it was very refreshing. Will definitely be back again for brunch or happy hour!
google avatar

Yelp
Another great experience food service were amazing. No complaints we were sat in the atrium and the decor and ambiance are amazing. If in old town stop by for an amazing experience.

Yelp
Hands down the best brunch in the DMV area. I lived in the south (Georgia/NC) for years, and I've struggled to find great biscuits, honey butter and grits in DC that compare. Until now. This place has it all, plus amazing breakfast tacos and burritos. The vibe and food are chef's kiss. Skip the fancy places in DC, and come here for the best brunch imaginable.

Brit D.

Yelp
Where is Gordon Ramsey ?! This restaurant needs him STAT ! $17 for catfish that's not fresh , burnt , way too crispy . Kids burger was dry and the fries were nasty . There's nothing that stands out as amazing. We won't be back .

Yelp
Wish we had planned to have dinner here. This is a don't miss spot. Local friendly people, friendly staff, good drinks, good food and great conversation. We stopped in here per recommendation of a Ferry Boat worker after we got off of our Potomac River tour. Good call on his part. Upon entering we were met by Nick who was tending bar. We sat at the bar and the experience began. What do I mean by experience.... Just a pleasant conversation with Nick who made us feel welcome into this foreign place. We ordered a couple of apps to soak up the alcohol. Both very good. Spicy Chicken Egg rolls and the special fish tacos. My only complaint the tacos didn't come with lime slices to squeeze onto them. This was quickly remedied with a quick ask to Nick. Also a very good sign about the food were the number of people (locals) who were coming in to pick up their take out orders. If I lived near by I would frequent this place often. As for the interior it had a maritime vibe and was well maintained.

Yelp
Visiting from California with a group of 25. We called while walking to the restaurant and they quickly accommodated us upstairs. The food was great, the service was better and the atmosphere was awesome. I can't recommend this spot enough!
google avatar

Claudia R.

Yelp
Horrible service at the bar on a Sunday afternoon early. Not super busy. Rude women behind the bar, to us and other people. "I'm hard of hearing so speak up" in a very rude way to a dad with his daughter picking up food. He was shocked. It was embarrassing and uncalled for. Bar tender bothered by having to do her job. Drinks were awful. Simple tequila on the rocks with muddled limes (nope, she didn't do that), instead we got the tequila on the rocks with ONE wedge of a lime and a slice of orange. Never coming back and I'm sure they don't care if you do or not. Several locals there since they knew each other and even they were not getting the service locals would get. Weird.

Yelp
I am bias! Let's just jump right into that! Chadwick's is my safe place! If and when I venture to Old Town I must make a stop, at Chadwick's. I love Chadwick's so much that one year my birthday plans were a total wreck! So my friends asked me to suggest a place to go next I of course chose here! My sister and I love to come here for the lemon drops!!!! Amazing amazing amazing! The bar staff is top notch! Please check them out for all occasions Brunch Lunch Dinner Bar hoping Drinks Food Vibes and just a good time!

Yelp
On Sunday morning our family of 7 gathered at Chadwick's for Brunch, celebrating s 1st birthday. Our server Augie was delightful, a perfect combination of knowledgeable, efficiency, and charm. He quickly served drinks, described menu items , and then returned with our food. The shrimp & grits was delicious as was the Eggs Benedict. When Augie learned that it was the baby's birthday, he surprised us with a slice of warm apple pie & ice cream, topped with a single lit candle! I highly recommend!
google avatar

Kyle C.

Yelp
Went last night for dinner with a friend. The service was good however after we ate. We saw a rat. We showed it to the server he confirmed. Said he would get the manager. Manager came and apologized and walked away. Never eating there. Wouldn't recommended. If they are behaving so nonchalantly about a rat. I'm really concerned what the kitchen is like.
google avatar

Myan L.

Yelp
They served some late night food while we were bar hopping! I got a quick snack of the hummas platter, the pita was very warm and the portion size of the hummas was amazing! This was exactly what I needed on a very cold night! The waitress was amazing, she was very nice and made sure everything came out okay and continued to check on us throughout our time here!

Yelp
I was back in town, and it happened to be on Monday. They still have their 1/2 priced burgers, cooked to your liking. I enjoyed it along with my Kettle One Dirty Martinis. KAILYN was great - attentive and friendly and knows how to make great cocktails. Chadwicks was very busy outside, upstairs and around the bar....seems many were enjoying the delicious eats and drinks as well, a must when in town !
google avatar

Ciara M.

Yelp
Basket of fries tasted good but it wasn't much of a basket. Got these to go to watch the boat parade. I was planning on sharing with friends but I had to be selfish and eat them all because it was small and they were mostly crumbs. I must have gotten the last of the fries.
google avatar

Moni T.

Yelp
In Old Town Alexandria early in the day and didn't have time to eat so decided to check out a nearby restaurant for brunch. Chadwick was closer and I have never been to this place before. I came here without reservations they didn't have any open tables downstairs but told me I could go upstairs to the bar and place my order and possibly sit outside. Fortunately, there was a table available outdoors. The table was dirty and needed to be wiped down, which no one did by the way. I ordered the Francois with a brunch cocktail (can't remember the name). The food was good, but definitely underwhelming nothing to write home about. I was also taken aback when I saw the small portion. The drink was ok. Another con was they only have one bathroom area and in the women's bathroom, one of the stalls was out of order. A recipe for disaster. All in all, I wouldn't come back.

Yelp
They are a solid comfortable place deserving of 3.5 stars. They are not the type of place you go for a culinary experience. They have comfort food. 1. you can walk in, they are a big establishment that can seat many 2. Food: 4 stars Crab cake - good ceviche - not so good, needs better seasoning burger - amazing 3. Drinks: 4 stars Strong, but nothing special. The look or the taste is rather ordinary especially for the price 4. Service: more like a casual diner, nice though Again, this is not a special date spot or anything. it is for casual meals.

Kristi L.

Yelp
Sat at the bar. Friendly welcome. Food arrived quickly. Outstanding: Butternut squash & Black Bean Wrap. Hubby loved his ever-so -cheesy chicken quesadilla; reliably good - repeatedly. Thank you Jordan and Charles and Eddie for a lovely evening. Happy customer :D
google avatar

Nyla S.

Yelp
Visited on a Sunday evening there was no wait! Sat on main floor and server came over immediately. Food came out pretty fast as well. To get into the food, it's nothing to write home about. A lot of the food was pretty bland.
google avatar

Emery B.

Yelp
It's been a while since we've been, but finally made it back for a brunch gathering. First of all, the service was amazing! Jennea was terrific. The Spicy Bloody Mary was a great start, but the star was the Jalapeño Cucumber margarita! I had a hard time picking from the great menu, but ended up getting the brunch taco's! Bro...these are a must! The atmosphere was good, we sat upstairs. Not too loud. Highly recommend...there's a reason they've been in business for as long as they have! A staple of Old Town charm!! Again, ask for Jennea (pronounced Jen-A)...so sweet and a great server
google avatar

Shelly I.

Yelp
Got there when they opened on a Saturday for brunch. Delicious food! Had eggs Benedict with bacon and cheese grits and biscuits and gravy. Brunch specials were their Mimosas and Bloody Marys. Service was good, asking a few times if we needed anything. Love that this restaurant is in an old historical building. Great character!

Barry M.

Yelp
The food was hot and tasty. The service was good. I would eat here again. Wee both had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken entree.
google avatar

Yelp
A great restaurant and place to grab brunch! The seating area next to the brick wall is beautiful too! My husband, son, and I grabbed brunch there with a friend. One thing I absolutely love is that it is kid friendly! We shared the French toast, omelette, and grilled cheese for my son. Everything was delicious! My son was a fan of the grilled cheese and French toast! Location is right next to the water front, so it's in a perfect location to stretch your legs after a meal. Love it here and hope to visit again soon!

Yelp
This place was the place serving food past 11 and I am so glad I came here. Customer service was good. Stayed downstairs due to a party going on upstairs. Food and drinks were very good. Ordered the: Grilled lamb burger: 9/10 I wish it had a little more of the yogurt sauce Fries: seasoned well and fried just enough for a light crisp Chadwick's reserve Manhattan: very good, do not get if not a fan of bitters

Katie K.

Yelp
Great Alexandria staple. I love sitting in the bar area. The food and drinks are solid. One of my go to spots.

Vik S.

Yelp
BARELY a 3 star. Sunday service is slow and bar staff are inattentive, portions are woefully small. I ordered tenders and fries... $12 for 1/3-1/4 sized serving (of most other places) cut into thin overly breaded strips. $4 for 1/2 serving of fries. Served room temp. Brought this up to bartender and was told, 'well have a nice day'.., literally. Everyone has different expectations, but I believe this would universally be a thumbs down. Day staff service and quality (of everything) here has suffered in the last few years. Evening/late night staff is on point. Suggest going elsewhere unless you're here at 1AM.
google avatar

Tracy F.

Yelp
The lady is behind the bar on Saturdays and Sundays are super nice! Mimosas made strong and the food is all so delicious

Jo B.

Yelp
This was a great spot for brunch! I had the eggs Benedict with crab cakes and they didn't disappoint!

Yelp
Chadwicks is one of my favorite spots to sit on the barstool with a friend and let the time pass. The atmosphere is one of an old pub, but it is off the main street by the water which makes it unique and set apart from the other restaurants of Old Town Alexandria. The food is always consistent and always very good. They have the best burger and the best fried chicken sandwich anywhere. I order these, along with a Chadwicks Amber most of the time I am there. The fried chicken dinner is also recommended, as well as any daily specials they may have. Friendly staff that makes you want to come back again and again.
google avatar

Yelp
Apparently this bar REFUSED to put the inauguration on any of its TVs after a huge amount of people requested it, as we had nowhere to watch it in the 9* weather. SO MANY OF US WALKED OUT- HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
google avatar

Justine T.

Yelp
Good food in a rustic setting. Our server was nice but rarely checked up on us and never offered to refill our empty waters. My eggs chesapeake was really tasty, but they skimped on the crab cake and overcooked the eggs/the yolk was already popped. I liked the bearnaise - it was really buttery and slightly tangy. I tried my friend's francois and it was delicious - the fried chicken was so crispy. I did enjoy my meal and while nothing was terrible, nothing really blew me away. There was also a surprise appearance of what looked like a green bell pepper piece in my fruit, which was odd. Overall, I would not come back and I do not recommend this restaurant. The food tasted good but presentation was lazy, and the ambiance and service was just okay.
google avatar

Mackinzie R.

Yelp
We stumbled into this restaurant on one of our recent family trips. Out of all of the spots we ate at over the week this was the worst. We quickly learned quick pace and attentiveness isn't something the east coast has in their waiter had guide so we will just briefly mention it. The clam chowder as my husband described it was like Thanksgiving chowder. Everything else was just fine. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat great, anything more you should head somewhere else.
google avatar

Adell C.

Yelp
Had lunch here it was ok at best. The service was great, friendly staff, very kind and quick. The food not so much. Ordered the fried green tomatoes it was a bit hard to taste them because the jalapeño sauce was a bit much as they were drenched in them. The bacon jam was actually good, but I would think that the sauces would've come on the side, especially for a food that has a delicate taste. The crab dip, as a native Washingtonian / Marylander who has been eating crab my entire life. I would say I know good crab from miles away. It was very seasoned and the lemon was so overwhelming. I could not taste any crab. It tasted like Cajun lemon sauce. The fried chicken was actually really good, we usually don't like the breast, but it was actually very flavorful and well cooked. The burger was good as well and their drinks are pretty solid. All and all it was an ok experience but not for the price.

Yelp
Great location in Old Town. Standard fare. The place was crowded on a Friday night. It was mostly couples and SINGLE MEN watching the game. I couldn't believe how many men were there. I was with my boyfriend and I wanted to send up a bat signal to let all the single women in the area know that the men are here. Lol. The service at the bar was fast and friendly. The drinks were good. We ordered a Rueben and crab cakes. The Rueben was a hit. The crab cake was meh. They said it was lump, but tasted like backfin to me. The fresh fruit that I ordered was truly fresh and delicious. Parking is plentiful. Cute, casual date night spot, and people were friendly. It looked like a great place to meet someone.

Yelp
Happy with the food and the service at this restaurant. Came here around 10:30am and was able to beat the brunch crowd that arrives closer to noon. Service was simple and efficient. We were seated and given our menus to look at and our server just told us to wave him down whenever we were ready. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and a grapefruit mimosa. The pancakes were fluffy and had the perfect amount of chocolate chips to not overwhelm you and feel like you're eating a dessert. Additionally, the pancakes had a large scoop of cinnamon butter which was enough to spread amongst the whole stack. The mimosa was light and refreshing. Even got a free half refill from our server. Overall, a good experience. Prices weren't too steep for the portion you're receiving, in my opinion. In the future, I would likely try different menu items for brunch. A great spot in Old Town if you arrive at a good time.

Yelp

Yelp
I worked with chadwicks for a special birthday celebration and they were INCREDIBLE. It was for a group of six with a unique circumstance. Both managers I talked to were super helpful. On the day of the event, everyone including the hostess were magnificent. If you ever need to stage any kind of event or happening, big or small, this is your place.

Yelp
Ole town Alexandria! Hard parking! Food good! Hostess excellent! Fried chicken good! But lamb shank over cooked! It was very busy! Pub experience! Menu is all over!

Yelp
Good burgers and salads, no issues with services. Overall okay place for casual gatherings.
