this place is situated in the heart of la flotte one of the nicest villages on the island. it is less snobbish then the rest of the island and you can see real kids and real vacation attractions... the restaurant is only with 8 tables do you better book ahead. the menu is with a few options but since the chef is almost alone in the kitchen i can understand why. every dish is extremely complicated so many ingredients and tastes (i would take of of few) but it is so good! it definitely deserves a star or a fork ! the price if fair certainly for what it is. after a period on the island and in the area it is definitely the best french restaurant by far. don't hesitate book it today. they sell home made cornichons (pickels) buy one too!

This chef and his crew do a great job of utilizing local ingredients to create beautiful dishes to test your palate. The wine list is extensive. The chef came out and went over the menu and checked on us regularly (he knew our knowledge of the French language was limited, and he spoke English well.) If you'd like a Michelon quality restaurant in a beautiful little town on an island in France. This is your place. Made reservations online. Highly recommend reservations.

Our meal was lovely, prepared and served in an intimate, charming dining room. We had appetizer with local mushrooms, breast of veal with flavorful seasonings and sauce, and cognac souffle -- all delicious. Our party of 5, enjoying a reunion, had a very special evening here. A close distance from the Harbor, the restaurant greets us with a warm and cosy atmosphere. The Michelin registered restaurant offers an original menu that we enjoyed thoroughly. Special mention for the lobster and the soufflé. Why not a star for 2026?

the Risotto was delicious, which accompanied the Lotte, which was probably a couple of seconds from being perfect. the citrus fruit tarte was also very good, with a very thin and very short pastry, not to sweet... perfect.. happy, that i found that place, not much open at the moment... 😉no

Surely the best value for money fine dining experience anywhere in my experience anyway. 3 courses at lunch is only 33 euros and this quality of food in London for example would cost I would say at least £100 a head. Just fantastic. I’m sure my uploaded picture doesn’t do the starter justice :-(

Very good food and service!! Eventough communication was a bit hard because we did not speak any french the service was great. Owners where very helpfull and polite wich was great the food was even better. Wine was also very good!!

Another year, another stay on Ile de Re, and another fantastic visit to the Chai!Chef Favier is an artist, and his wife Florence is an incredibly attentive host. The setting is very romantic, and the dishes so creative! Highly recommended for a special night out in La Flotte!
