Chaitanya Assal Malvani Bhojangruh

Visited Chaitanya for the second time, and it’s still one of the best places for authentic Konkan Malvani food in Dadar, Mumbai. Truly one of the rare restaurants that serves genuinely authentic seafood Chaitanya easily ranks at the top! The place is always crowded, so be prepared to wait outside for at least 20–40 minutes. The seating area is small, but the food makes it completely worth the wait. Prices depend on the current fish rates. We tried the special prawns thali, which comes with double portions of prawns fry absolutely delicious. Also had the surmai thali with two fried pieces, and the taste was awesome. The bhakri was soft and fresh. The best part was the unlimited solkadi, along with tasty crab lollipop. Service was quick too—food arrived within 5–10 minutes. Highly recommended for seafood lovers!

The food was really good. We tried bombil thaali and surmai thaali. Bothe the fish fry were super good. The curry was with teppal or Sichuan pepper and super good. My husband loves sol kadi and the unlimited rice, kadi and curry did not disappoint him. We even tasted modak which was a delight when had with ghee. Samadhan the waiter was super helpful and friendly.

It was amazing to be and meet the roots always. If you miss Assal malvani food. This place will complete your cravings. Its good restaurant for family, friends and couples as well. Service top notch, food top notch and worth each penny you will spend. Vishnu hosted us, and took care all the needs during we were there. He knows all the foods so well and suggest nicely. We have bombil fry(Bombay Duck) do not miss this one. Then we took mutton thali in that u will get nicely cooked mutton and the malvani gravy of mutton was awesome. Along with that there was kaleji masala (liver gravy) one more fantastic preparation of assal malvani food. Don't miss having it with kombdi wade(its made of traditional flour mixed and fried nice and fluffy) or ghavne (Rice flour). Along with this all, they will also serve Solkadi (its a drink made of nice blend of wild mangosteen fruits along with some garlic and coriander, its amazing drink) do not miss this. And to conclued this tasty food have parole (made of Rice flour and grated coconut,sweetened by jaggery with lot of ghee) You must visit to this place and do try the amazing food of Indian west costline. This place will not disappoint you at all..

Must visit in Mumbai, the traditional malvani seafood restaurant at Dadar West . Every items served was heavenly and the quality is heavily satisfactory. The best starter is bomble fry and finish the meal with the smooth ghee modhak. Special prawns thali is something never miss here. It's quite a small place, you many need to wait in reservation to get a seat . Mondays looks less crowded. No dedicated parking infront but you can park nearby. Customer service was too good, enjoyed every bite of the food . All the Thankss from Kerala.

We recently ordered the Special Sprons Thali and Chicken Thali, and both were absolutely delicious! The flavors were authentic, the portions were generous, and everything was served fresh and hot. A special mention to Mangesh for his wonderful service. He was attentive, polite, and made sure we had a great dining experience. I recently had an incredible meal that truly showcased the best of Konkani specialty cuisine. The fish thali was exceptional, featuring incredibly fresh seafood. The Surmai fry and prawns were standouts—perfectly seasoned and fried to a crisp perfection. A major highlight was the unlimited Solkadi, which was so refreshing and authentic it reminded me of a home-cooked meal. Beyond the food, the staff was polite, professional, and very prompt with their service. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a genuine taste of the Konkan coast!

The perfect place to have Malwani sea food. I have visited the place multiple times and it’s always been the best food. Carb lollipops and the butter garlic crabs are pur go-to dishes. Other than that we share Rawas thali. The veg delux thali is too heavy for one person with normal apatite. If you’re in Dadar, make sure to try seafood thali here. It’s a gem.

We randomly visited this place after our Darshan, it’s very near to the Sidhivinayak Temple. We ordered a Thali, which had multiple dishes and all were good. The best was Kokum Sharbat. The price is very affordable, the sitting is cozy and comfortable, staff is great. Must visit.
