MICHELIN Guide’s Top Picks for Bangkok’s Best Street Food Stalls

"Run by the same family for over 30 years, this no-menu spot operates by house rules: come for their renowned fried noodles and slices of beef or pork cooked in thick, brown gravy, topped with generous pieces of vegetables. The sauce offers an appealing contrast of salty and sweet, and a side of crispy, fried wontons is perfect for sharing. Insider tip: come early—the shop closes as soon as they sell out, with official hours from 11am to 3pm." - Niki Chatikavanij

Chakki

"This family-run Cantonese shop has been on Rang Nam Road for 30 years. Chakki’s owner doesn’t believe in menus – everyone is here for their famous deep-fried wontons or deep-fried rice noodles and beef topped with gravy. Once these dishes sell out, the shop closes for the day." - Michelin Inspector

⭐ Google Maps Review for Chakki (ภัตตาคารจ๊ากกี่) 📍 1 35-36 Soi Watthanayothin, Thanon Phaya Thai, Ratchathewi, Bangkok 10400 If you love classic Thai–Chinese comfort food cooked with real skill, Chakki is a must-visit. This long-standing, family-run restaurant still delivers that nostalgic wok aroma, deep flavors, and generous portions that are increasingly hard to find in Bangkok today. 🍜 What I tried and absolutely loved: • เส้นหมี่ราดหน้าปลาเต้าซี่ (Rice Vermicelli Rad Na with Fish & Black Bean Sauce) Surprisingly outstanding. The fish is tender and fresh, and the black bean gravy is rich, glossy, and incredibly flavorful without being too salty. The long green chilies on top give the dish a beautiful aroma and just enough heat. Truly addictive. • เส้นใหญ่ราดหน้าเนื้อ (Wide Rice Noodles with Beef Rad Na) Perfectly smoky from the wok, with beef that’s soft and well-marinated. The gravy is smooth, savory, and comforting — exactly how a great Rad Na should be. This is real “old-school Bangkok flavor.” • เกี๊ยวกุ้ง (Shrimp Wonton Soup) A simple dish, but perfectly executed. The wontons are plump and filled with real shrimp, and the broth is light, clean, and soothing. The kind of bowl that makes you feel at home instantly. 🥤 Bonus: Free iced chrysanthemum tea (เก๊กฮวย) served generously — cold, refreshing, and fragrant. A small touch that adds an authentic charm to the whole experience. ✨ Atmosphere: Classic, humble, and straightforward — exactly what you’d expect from a legendary shop. Fast service, honest cooking, and flavors that speak louder than any fancy decoration. ⭐ Verdict: Chakki continues to live up to its reputation: simple, delicious, timeless Thai-Chinese comfort food done right. I would happily come back again and again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended if you appreciate real wok-fire flavors.

Despite many negative reviews, I gave this place a try and was pleasantly surprised. In my opinion, the food is very delicious. The signature crispy noodles with gravy sauce are especially impressive—crispy without being too oily. Each dish is cooked individually, showing care for the customer. The sauce is a bit on the sweet side, but still enjoyable. The wonton soup is also tasty, with a clear and fresh broth. As for the service, while some say the staff seem unfriendly, I think they’re just not smiley—but they’re attentive and quick to refill drinks. Definitely worth a visit.

Crispy egg noodle - The gravy taste too salty this time round. Fried dumplings - taste well with the sweet sauce (I ordered small portion) Wanton noodles - taste well. ( I ordered dry version)

The Rad-Nha Noodles is so great also with Tao See option. The only downside of the restaurant is the service, their menu on the wall is not include all the dish they provide and the staff are a bit weird.

Completely deserving of the Michelin Bin Gourmand which they have held for so many years in a row. Which other Michelin-awarded eateries can be snappy and impatient, their service was still comforting and welcoming. Above all, the food was obviously exquisite with the best rad-na in town. Ballpark of THB 150 for each plate of noodles (some variances here and there) with 5THB for iced tea with unlimited refills.

Authentic and tasty comfort Chinese-Thai food. Great atmosphere and flavors, though some dishes were a bit too sweet for me. Still worth a visit!

Another Bangkok Michelin gem quest. I tried for the first time, Rad-nha, here which is their signature. I think it's similar to Char hor fun in Penang, except Thai cooked the thick gravy once in a big amount and just pouring it to the noodle when about to deliver. Tastewise, it is slightly different from the Penang style. It tastes lighter and tends to be bland, because they are cooked separately, the gravy and the noodles. But, still I can enjoy it. Portion, as I pick deep fried rice vermicelli instead of noodle, it's bit small to me. By the way, fried pork wonton is a must, I couldn't stop eating it as a snack. Preparation time is too long, although all ladies owner were friendly and polite. Pricewise, eventhough they give free Ice-tea refill, still kinda expensive to me, considering this is not a restaurant with cool and cozy indoor dining area. However, again, this is a Michelin awarded restaurant.

Very casual. No door. Narrow one way street. No air conditioning (I think – we were there in November, only fans). We’ve two fried noodle plates and they’re ok. The stem of the green veggie is tender and yummy (I hope is part of the leave). It was just right for us at the right moment.
