Chalet of Canandaigua Bed & Breakfast

Amazing stay! We had an absolutely fantastic time at The Chalet. The accommodations were superb and the hospitality was unmatched. Melanie made us feel so welcome and the breakfast was incredible, made fresh with local ingredients by a superlatively-talented chef. We will definitely be back! We highly recommend The Chalet for a romantic getaway or a family event. BnBs like the Chalet make one wish that Google provided more than 5 stars to give...

Wifey and I spent a few days here in mid October 2025 for our 30th anniversary. We were the only people here the first two nights. It was very quaint, cozy, private, quiet and off the beaten path compared to other FLX options. Also, Gerardo (the chef and innkeeper) is one of the nicest, kindest and personable innkeepers we’ve come across in decades. Plus he makes AWESOME breakfast! |Adam & Shelley

We have stayed at the Chalet a few times now, under previous owners. The new owners are just delightful. They are so kind and have the most soothing ASMR voices! I’d also like to point out that my wife has one of those newfangled health rings that tells them everything they need to know about their biological whatnots, and her health ring told her that she had had the best night sleep since she started wearing the thing!

We had a WONDERFUL time at the Chalet! It was our first time in the Finger Lakes region and we will definitely be back. The Chalet and the grounds are so lovely and our hosts were very gracious and welcoming. The breakfasts were outstanding!

We felt pampered by Melanie and her family, as well as Bethany They were extremely helpful in shaping our daily activities, and accommodating when we simply wanted to hang around the beautiful lodge The Lee suite was large and cozy We enjoyed reading by the pond and on the screened in porch The breakfasts were delicious and filling

We had two wonderful nights at the Chalet. Lisa was so kind, cooking delicious food and making us very welcome . We originally had booked one night but came back for a second because it was so enjoyable. Beautiful rooms and luxurious bathrooms. The house was decorated for Christmas which we loved!

The best accommodations in the Fingerlakes. Wonderful chalet, gorgeous rooms with a warm and inviting ambience. Well appointed. Excellent attention to detail. Breakfast was well tought out and delicious. The innkeepers and staff take pride in the chalet and make every effort to make your stay a memorable one. Can't wait to return.

This was our 2nd stay here and is was COMPLETELY different than the 1st. To begin, there are new owners. I wish we knew that prior to booking. This stay felt very impersonal. The best asset of the Chalet is Dan O'brien, the chef. He is an Iron Chef. The quiche was excellent. He was friendly and personable. There were a few things that didn't operate in the room. The towel warmer, we had difficulty with getting the TV to operate, and there were no robes, which is usually standard with all SELECT REGISTERIES and no creamers for coffee in the room. They new people have had this place for 2 years and have let things slide a bit. Also, the rates were higher .

This was such a lovely time for us...if the Finger Lakes are the cake, The Chalet is the buttercream. My wife and I spent two nights there in The Balcony suite...highly recommend, although following the tour of the other options, I don't believe there is a bad choice! Melanie was the perfect hostess and Gerardo is a superlative chef who leverages local ingredients to craft absolutely divine breakfasts. Five stars!

Lovely time at this authentic log B&B. Very well maintained and clean. Melanie and Geraldo were great hosts. But the food! OMG! Best breakfast of any B&B we have stayed in: crème brûlée oatmeal, Soufflé, Turkish eggs, baklava! Geraldo does all the cooking. Just fantastic. Close to downtown Canandaigua, wine country and attractions. Look no further: stay here.

The Chalet of Canadaigua is as good as it gets. It takes about 10 minutes of Internet research to realize their breakfast is expertly prepared and mouth-watering delicious. Our room was exactly as described and pictured online. My wife and I enjoyed the tub/shower. We visited in the Summer, but the fireplace - visible from the bedroom and Bathroom in the Balcony Suite - looks like it would be awesome on a cooler Fall night or Winter visit. The grounds (and there is a lot of real estate) are well-kept; and the drive to do pretty much any activity you'd go to the Finger Lakes to do is of reasonable length. The owners have great advice on where to go and what to see. They both seemed to really care that our stay was relaxing. We hope to visit again in a different season. I recommend this place 100%.

Breakfast is interesting and delicious every morning. The owners are warm and helpful with suggesting activities, making reservations, etc. They booked a couples massage for us, a hot air balloon ride (picks you up right on the property!) and a private, 5 hour wine tour with a really nice tour guide. The whole place is just so cozy. We've had a really great time, we would definitely recommend this place.

Our Silver Lining Mis-FORTUNATE (Synonyms: Lucky · Favored · Blessed) Wedding postponed, Niagara off the Table, now what do we do!? After some research I decided on a Visit to the Chalet. I have stayed in some of the finest B & B's in the North East and visited with optimism despite our forced change in plans. WOW, the Universe plays the Best tricks. As we drove up a lengthy driveway I was struck by the Beauty of the Willow Trees dancing in the wind over a beautiful duck pond with a Blue Heron gracing its little Island. As we continued up the Driveway the Chalet came into view. We were greeted warmly by Pattie who helped work through some details. Soon Margaret joined us and offered another warm welcome. They asked us some open-ended questions (Morning Beverage of choice for one), offered Insights and shared recommendations, letting us know that our satisfaction was their focus. After seeing some common areas we were escorted to our room where every detail was covered to ensure we would be getting the most out of our stay. Our Room (Lee Suite) was appointed with tasteful furnishings and offered an instant comfort. We stayed for three nights and each morning, when we arrived at our desired time, we found a carafe of Coffee and hot water waiting for us to get seated. Breakfast is three (3) courses and changed daily. Dietary needs were addressed upon arrival and any personal likes and dislikes were noted for the visit, and future visits for those so fortunate. Every bite was delicious and well balanced. As a Inspired home cook I could tell these ladies truly enjoy crafting this deliciousness each day. One suggestion (my regret) would be to take some time to enjoy the grounds. I was so busy running around the lakes that I failed to do this adequately. It is such a relaxing environment that you need to take some of that in. I will make sure to do more of this on my return trip.

Recently we stayed at this lovely B&B. It is amazingly cozy to begin with but we stayed at their lake cottage. Talk about a Beautiful and peaceful setting. We absolutely enjoyed the stay and as if that weren't enough, the owners made us feel so very welcomed. Thank you guys for that! The breakfast was 3 courses and always something new and delicious. They really do try to cater to your food preferences (which I greatly appreciate since I have so many of them). I personally enjoyed Maggie's special drink. Highly recommending this place and looking forward to returning.

If you want a BB that is top notch, come on to the Chalet. Not kidding! We've been here a few times now, and the truth is, it keeps getting better. Here are some things I like... giant fireplace to hang out, we had a see through fireplace in our room with a giant soaker tub in the bathroom... very romantic. For this stay There were 6 of us 2 family, 2 friends and we had a blast. BREAKFAST TO DIE FOR. Look, a romantic getaway or with another couple, it's an amazing stay. Pattie and Margaret are fantastic InnKeepers, rooms are cozy, kept and super comfy. Oh yea, in the warmer months, gigantic porch to sit by sip your favorite wine. You'll love it!

June will now always be my favorite month. My shiny new husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was heaven on earth. From the delicious three course breakfasts to the gracious hospitality, we couldn't have been happier. Our room was cozy and romantic and we were never bored... We'll be coming back yearly now!

Wonderful venue with all the amenities you could want. Great hosts, fantastic breakfast, beautiful interior design, and extremely warm and inviting rooms. All the small touches you could want. We had a wonderful time and will return next time we're in the area. No hotel could compete with the friendly service, quiet, and serene atmosphere. My only regret is we didn't stay a week or two!

The Chalet was everything anyone could've asked for and more. We were from way out of area and just needed a weekend away. I stumbled upon their website and this Yelp page and AUTOMATICALLY fell in love! Margaret and Patty were so super accommodating and really care about your stay. The rooms look just like the pictures and everything is so cozy. I highly recommend going in the fall since the B&B has a log cabiney vibe which makes the scenery and foliage perfect; although, I'm sure this place would be stunning any day out of the year. Margaret and Patty help you plan out your stay right down to the dinner reservations. Then, after you get back from your day, they have dessert there waiting for you! Then in the morning you are greeted to an excellent three-course breakfast. Try "Maggie's Special Juice Blend!" You won't regret it. Super yummy. And after we were all packed and thanking them for a wonderful stay, they showed us a lovely route to tour the Finger Lakes on our drive back which was so fun! This review should speak enough for itself that I will be returning ASAP. Thank you Margaret and Patty!

This was AWESOME! Had such a great time! Patty and Margaret were full of knowledge and the three course plated breakfast was better than 5 star resorts....plus, they had dessert for us every night! The chalet itself is on 30 or so acres of land. Veryyyyyy quiet and the rooms are fantastic. There isn't a better bed and breakfast around. SUCH a great time!

I was in town with two colleagues for a business trip. Instead of staying in Rochester for the night we decided to get closer to Wayland where our meeting was the next morning. We were warmly greeted by Margaret and Patty and given a tour of the property when we arrived. The B&B has three rooms, each with a fire place and huge bathtub! Once we settled in, we gathered in the living room around the large fireplace and each had a slice of chocolate cake served on the most adorable china plate with picture of a chalet on it. Can you say attention to detail? :) Shortly after dessert the huge bathtub was calling my name. I asked Patty for some Epsom salts and soaked my jet lag away. I was in heaven. If it couldn't get any better it did. The following morning we were served a three course breakfast. Each course was presented as a work of art and tasted great. They source local ingredients and honored my vegetarian diet as well! I couldn't have been happier with our stay and highly recommend the chalet for any business traveler alike!
