New San Francisco and Bay Area Restaurants and Bars: Ethel’s Fancy, Birdbox | Eater SF

"Chama Nativa Brazilian Steakhouse opened at 6935 Camino Arroyo in Gilroy, serving big hunks of meat in churrascaria style, Brazilian cocktails such as caipirinha, and desserts like crème brûlée, and the restaurant takes reservations." - Lauren Saria

Google
It was an amazing experience! Christian provided excellent customer service! He was very polite, sweet, warm and accommodating. He even surprised my son with a graduation treat! I love this place so much.

Google
We came here for lunch on the weekend. It was the first time I've been there. I was impressed with the quality of food even the end time they came around. They only thing i can say didn't hold is quality was the grilled shrimp they had at the salad bar. They were over steamed after I had gotten them when I first got there. They were perfect at first. The service was great and it was a great dining revisited.

Kimberly B.

Google
Everything was delicious, and the staff was awesome with great service. The food was amazing overall; however, my favorite dish, a garlic beef dish, was undercooked for my personal preference. I must have received the rarest cut of meat possible, which I just couldn't handle. Other than that, everything was delicious.

I stopped by this steak house twice on the way back to my place in San Jose from hikes in Carmel. This place offers extremely good value for steak lovers. Salad bar is fabulous. Cheese bread is amazing. American wagyu is served a la carte. The quality of food was not consistent since the food was better during my first visit. Ambiance is nice. Service is great.

Yura M.

Google
The service is very good. Attentive and friendly staff. Most of the meat tastes mediocre. Looks good but feels like paper in the mouth. The pork ribs were an 8 out of 10. The pineapple should either be removed from the menu or renamed, because in fact it is as sour as lemon. Regarding the cost - for an empty weekday evening, $70 per person is too much for such quality.

Google
Walked in and sat down right away. 5 mins later, we were already being attented by the waiter. All the cuts of meat were delicious along the lemonade. Sparkling water had a great kick to it. Ribeye was tremendous, pork rib was yummy, picanha was good, sirloin was tender yummmmm, I had loved everything and every minute of it. Great and BIG shoutout to Yuridia for being a good waitress and constantly checking up, Christian also was our waiter and he was great waiter. And also Brenda was a great help too. These 3 along everyone else but these 3 were making mg first experience here great. They gave great customer service. I'll be definitely going back!

Google
This place is the ultimate Brazilian steakhouse experience. I recently found out about Chama Nativa through a neighbor who had visited just a few HOURS prior. I needed a quality spot to take my mom-in-law for her birthday. WOW! Am I glad my neighbor shared this place with me! The service is beyond compare. Jose was gracious enough to place a last minute reservation for my family (we were 7 total that evening). The variety of meats are cooked to perfection. If you don’t eat meat, the salad bar is phenomenal. Not your average salad bar for sure. Enjoy a lovely lunch or dinner date or simply come to enjoy fine dining at more than reasonable prices. Children are welcomed here (they have discounted menus for the kiddos). Mine are 9 and 13 years old and they utterly enjoyed themselves. They even managed to order key lime pie and our birthday flan — both were absolutely delicious!! 😋 Hats off to the chef! 🙌🏼✨

Google
Chama Nativa delivers on every front - the quality of their meats is exceptional, with each cut perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The traditional Brazilian steakhouse experience here is authentic and memorable. What really sets this place apart is the service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The gauchos are skilled and passionate about what they do, and it shows in every interaction. The variety of meats offered is impressive, and the salad bar complements the meal beautifully. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just want an incredible meal, Chama Nativa is the place to go. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough - it's become one of my absolute favorites in Gilroy. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out on something truly special. This is definitely a place I'll be returning to again and again!

Yelp
Never disappoints Gladly got the meat sweats at Chama Nativa I did not know a cow had that many good cuts

Daniel B.

Yelp
Chama Nativa serves the best authentic Brazilian food around. The picanha is tender and full of flavor, and the salad bar has an amazing selection of fresh choices. Great service, welcoming atmosphere -- a must-visit for anyone who loves great food.

Marco G.

Yelp
Delicious food. Great service. Very nice staff. It is by far the best Brazilian steak house in the area.

Yelp
As someone from Brazil, I can confidently say this is one of the most authentic Brazilian steakhouse experiences you will find in the Bay Area. The food is truly incredible, perfectly seasoned meats, fresh sides, and all the traditional flavors that remind me of home. The owner is an authentic gaúcho who previously owned and operated several Brazilian steakhouses in Brazil, and it shows in every detail. The quality of the meats, the way they are prepared, and the genuine churrasco service make the experience absolutely unforgettable. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff is attentive, and the overall experience is amazing from start to finish. If you want a real taste of Brazil, the way it's supposed to be. This is the place. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Let me tell you something: I went on a date Sunday night, and this was by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. The food had no flavor at all. The steak was tough, bland, and completely disappointing. What shocked me the most was the behavior of the "owner." When he asked if I liked the food, I answered honestly and said I didn't. He immediately became emotionally unstable--raising his voice, waving his hands at me, and going on about being in business for 25 years blah blah blah It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional, and it completely ruined my appetite. As a paying customer, I have every right to express my opinion. I'm Brazilian, and I know exactly how our traditional cuisine should taste. This restaurant does not represent our culture or flavors. It's honestly insulting to see such bland, poorly executed dishes being presented as Brazilian cuisine. The buffet lacked traditional options we value in Brazil, and the random addition of sushi made no sense at all--it's not part of our culture, and it only shows how far they've strayed from authenticity. The only positive part of the night was the kindness of Mr Fernando and mr Juarez. They noticed how upset I was and genuinely tried to make the situation better. For that, I'm thankful. And NO I don't accept the owner apology after embarrassing and shout at me in front of everyone! You should NOT BE on customer service business! Apologizing just because I told you I was going to yelp you! So don't waste your time and money this is not a AUTHENTIC BRAZILIAN CUISINE!

Yelp
Better than Fogo De chao! What a hidden gem. They have been here for 3 years and it's the first time I've tried it. The meat is marinated very well, not too salty and the meat was not gamey. Salad bar was perfect. I'm going back for sure.

Rosa Z.

Yelp
AMAZING types of meats! PLUS their cocktails! I recommend coming here. Won't let you miss out on their food selection!

Yelp
Food was excellent, fresh and flavorful. From the buffet, all the beef and dessert . Nice hot and cold variety food in the buffet table, what also including sushi. Rib eye very tender and flavorful ,like most of the beef cut. The grilled cheese with honey and the grilled pineapple is a plus to clean the plate and continue your experience. We arrived around Noon, and wasn't busy, the service was great , attentive and cordial and making nice suggestions and keeping a friendly conversation and checking on us and cleaning the table so often. The ambience is modern and clean looking, very confortable and big. They have a full bar and a banquet room to around 50 people. They have a few options in the menu, just the buffet around $35 , the whole experience for lunch $46 and the dinner whole experience $76. Is a place to recommend and back again. If they keeping doing what they are doing now I think they're and will continue to be the best churrasqueria in the bay area. Thank you very much for the very good experience and the excellent food.

Yelp
We usually go to Galpao Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse, but wanted to give Chama a try. We came here to celebrate my birthday with some friends on Sunday. We recently celebrated my friend's birthday at Galpao Gaucho just a couple weeks ago, so my comparison is current. Upon arriving, I noticed that the restaurant was pretty empty. We came to eat in between peak hours, so I figured this was why, but since it is a weekend and since Chama charges weekend/dinner pricing all day long, you wouldn't expect your experience to differ in any way. We were lead to our table and upon pulling out my chair, I was met with an unexpected surprise....unfortunately, it wasn't a good surprise. The previous guests at our table must have broken a glass. There was a large shard of glass awaiting me on the chair. As I mentioned, we came to celebrate my birthday, so I was wearing a dress. Instead of seating us at a different table, the hostess simply grabbed a towel to brush off the chair. Seeing this, my husband switched seats with me since he was wearing jeans. I was wearing sandals and as I looked around, I noticed that there were pieces of glass scattered all over the floor around the restaurant still. We were asked if we wanted the $55 limited dining option or the $76 full dining option. Since it was our first time here and we wanted to try everything, we opted for the full option. I carefully avoided the glass as we walked to the salad bar. The salad bar was underwhelming, but we didn't come for salad anyway. As previously mentioned, the restaurant wasn't super busy. As we started our dinner, the servers slowly came out with the few cuts of meats they offered for their $76 option. I was fairly disappointed about this. The meats that did come out were the top sirloin, bottom sirloin, ribeye, filet mignon, beef rib, sausage, pork rib, bacon wrapped chicken, spicy sirloin, garlic sirloin, and pineapple. We never saw any lamb, bacon wrapped steak, chicken legs, or chicken hearts. Chicken hearts happen to be my husband's favorite, but we didn't see it once. I used the ladies' room and to my surprise, 2 of the 3 stalls had no toilet paper, Also, 1 of the 2 soap dispensers were empty as well. You would think that at such a nice establishment, they would put more care in housekeeping. Unfortunately, that was 3 strikes for me...first, the broken glass on my seat, no toilet paper in 2 of 3 stalls in the ladies' room, and 1 of 2 soap dispensers with no hand soap. I'm not sure that is acceptable when you're paying over $80/person to eat. Pricing is comparable to other steakhouses, but I'm fairly certain we've gotten more variety elsewhere. The food here was delicious though. I did also appreciate the birthday flan as well but given the distance and our experience here, I'm not sure we will be back.

Yelp
On our way into San Jose, we caught eye of this Brazilian Steakhouse right off Hwy 152, so the family decided to make a stop here to try it out as part of the celebration for my sister's graduation. We were seated promptly and they brought beverages to the table quite quickly. However, they failed to mention that each bottle of mineral water will cost $6 ... now that is steep for water; might as well order actual beverages in that case. The all-you-can eat salad bar part was so-so. They have a variety of roasted veggies such as roasted bell pepper, roasted zucchini, egg plant, broccolini, make-your-own plate of salad, bland, farmed salmon, devils eggs, salami and cheese. None of these salad bar food items were any good. It's more of a filler and to get your greens in. As for the meats... so they have these round table cards on each table where you place the green side up to inform them you are ready for more meat versus the red side up indicates to hold off on the meats. I noticed that once you "skip" a round of a specific meat cut, they will NOT come back again with that same cut, so be forewarned about "skipping." For the weekend and dinner menu, they have the following meat cuts... Filet mignon, ribeye, fraldinha (bottom sirloin), garlic sirloin, pincanha, bacon wrapped steak, bacon wrapped chicken, beef rib, Alcatra (top sirloin), linguica (pork sausage), chicken legs/drum stocks, grilled pineapple. I was disappointed that they didn't ask if we wanted rare, medium, or well-done cuts of meat. They just sliced from whatever cut they wanted, which led us to feel a lot of their cuts were undercooked/ too rare, or too tough. The only thing good (in our opinion) was the rib eye and grilled pineapple. Forget the different cuts of sirloin ... they all tasted the same. The complimentary fried polenta sticks, caramelized banana, cheese bread balls at the table were at least palatable though. Of note, during my meal, I ended up finding a worm in my dish. I think it was from the salad, which I understand can happen because it is hard to wash those lettuces, but they way the management/staff went about handling the situation after we brought it to their attention was abysmal. #1 - as soon as I pointed it out, they told me they "would inform the manager." 15 minutes later, no one came by. The meat rounds also stopped coming by. #2- after reminding them again of what I found, they took my dish and told me "they would let the manager and chef know." #3 - no manager ever came by to apologize. I am not asking for anything (ie. a free meal), but at least an apology or acknowledgement would do. Lastly, the ladies restroom was filthy. They didn't even have toilet paper holders; the toilet paper rolls sat loose on top of the toilet paper holder or all over the dirty floor. For such a nice aesthetic out on the dining floor, this was unexpected and a turn-off. For ~$75/person, this place is not worth it. If the quality of their meats were better, service was more hospitable, and you come during M-F for lunch for $49.95, then maybe it's worth it. However, as for my family and I, this will be the one and only visit.

Yelp
Went here last Thursday night for dinner with hubby and friends. Cris our server was awesome! There is one staff though that I felt she was hurrying us up. Foods are always great, and place is the same, clean and quiet. One note though, the women's restroom was dirty, so maybe next time they can check it once in a while to clean it. But, still our fav Brazilian steakhouse to go! Thanks Cris for an amazing service, it made up for the little things that wasn't so good.

Yelp
I took my husband to dinner here for his birthday, and we had an amazing time. We arrived at 6:30pm on a Thursday and it was not very busy. Our waiter was able to be very attentive. He brought us to our table and explained everything very thoroughly as it was our first time at Brazilian bbq. He even gave us helpful tips on how to have the best experience and get our moneys worth out of the all-you-can-eat! I am happy to report that they had lots of gluten-free options for the mains, sides, and salad bar. Our favorite cuts were the picanha and the ribeye. I also loved the grilled pineapple with cinnamon. I asked for seconds of the pineapple, and our kind waiter was very happy to accommodate. The grilled cheese with honey was also excellent. Don't skip out on the farofa which is at the salad bar. I enjoyed eating the different meats with farofa for additional texture. Once we had our fill of meats, we topped the meal off with crème brûlée which was very good. It had a perfectly crisp top and the custard was creamy and delicious. We would definitely come here again for special occasions!

Yelp
Me and my partner came here for the second time to this amazing brazilian steak house to celebrate our fourth year anniversary. We had an amazing time thanks to our server cris who made our anniversary an unforgettable and enjoyable experience. Kudos to cris

Yelp
We've been coming here every few months since they opened, but the last two visits were just bad. Especially our most recently one. Service has noticeably gone downhill, and the friendliness we used to enjoy just wasn't there. They brought over bread, polenta, and bottled water upon being seated. After visiting the salad bar, I had asked for chimichurri, and flipped our signs to green. We quickly got our first round of meat. We switched it back to red to enjoy. After we were done with our first round, we asked for sauces again - they acknowledged and even said "and bananas". From that point on, no one checked in. The most frustrating part was when multiple servers carrying meat ignored our table, even though all of us had flipped our signs to green. We had to flag them down just to get served, while our server was busy chatting with tables around us but never once checked on us. We had to ask again for sauces (I guess 3rd time's the charm), which finally arrived at the very end of the meal - right before he asked if we wanted dessert. My whole group left hungry and dissatisfied. Unfortunately, I'll have to say "skip this place", just like the servers skipped over us.

Yelp
Food was great customer service was excellent ambience was perfect i always come back highly recommended

Yelp
Yesenia and the rest of the crew were so incredibly attentive and friendly. This is my first time ever at a Brazilian steak house and I just hope the rest are as good as this one. I definitely will be back !

Yelp
Chama Nativa Brazilian Steakhouse is an all-you-can-eat steakhouse restaurant offering a variety of grilled meats served tableside rodízio style. Upon entry into the restaurant, a beautifully arranged and plentiful self-serve buffet style gourmet salad bar along with warm side dish selections welcomes the diner to the restaurant. The upscale interior is inviting, and this churrascaria is staffed with cordial personnel. This medium-small sized restaurant lends to a more personal service catering to its customers. Service was top tier. Everyone worked together to make the experience amazing. There is another second area available for large groups and special occasions.

Yelp
My son and I came as a special treat. We didn't know what to expect and had our expectations exceeded. The food is fantastic and you get quite a bit. Everything that came out was fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is casual classy. There were some people dressed up and some people in jeans. I would come in stretchy pants. Overall a 5 star experience.
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
We honestly may have been the only real customers in the whole place. There were two other tables, but they were in the corner away from us, so we couldn't hear conversation with wait staff. Felt like everything was designed to fill us up by the time the carne came around. Meat was ok, but very salty. Probably wouldn't go back. Rather get a prime rib at house of prime rib for about the same cost. Huge place though, so if you have a ton of people you're planning an event for, this is an option.
google avatar

Allister D.

Yelp
I highly recommend people trying this Brazilian steakhouse if you're in the Gilroy area. Because of the medium-small size of the restaurant, the service is more intimate and pays lots of attention to its customers. The servers come frequently to your table with different meats and they are quick on specific requests. Me personally, all I truly care about is the Picanha, Beef ribs, Lamb chops and pork ribs. When it comes to the salad bar, they offer unique items such as mushroom beef stroganoff, Alfredo pasta, and candied bacon. My wife and I truly enjoyed Chama and will definitely come back again. They do it right here!

Kanyon S.

Yelp
Yesenia was so gracious and accommodating. The staff eager to share and showcase delicious meats. Wonderful first time experience in Mutsun Ohlone Land #HonorNativeLand

Yelp
Came in with some friends for lunch. Wasn't bad. Meat was slightly on the salty side but not bad for lunch. Service was on point but could Have been a little more organized. Food, service and the buffet bar was all a solid 4 star. Would go back 100%.

Yelp
My wife and I live in Gilroy. This is our first time trying Chama Nativa and we were impressed. It's definitely a fancy expensive place and the food and service reflected that. The salad bar was impressive with so many options, but the meat offerings were over the top. I tried to eat as much as I could to justify the price, but after so long my fat @$$ was full. The service people were very attentive and we didn't have to wait for anything. They were on point. We paid $220 roughly for dinner for two including two drinks, but it was worth it and we would return. If only to impress visiting guests, this was an exceptional experience.
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to try this place for a while now since we live close by. Hoping it will be almost just as good as Espetus in SF. Boy were we wrong. The salad bar was a joke, horrible selection, the salad was old and not much of a selection. The meat was low quality, bland and not many options. We paid to get all the meat choices and the chicken never came out. If you want the full Brazilian steakhouse experience go to San Francisco at Espetus or at least to Santana Row Fogo de Chao. Don't recommend this place.
google avatar

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Our waitress Yessenia/YESSIE was attentive, attentive, & initiated inquiry to see if there was a special occasion (while my boyfriend was in the bathroom & before he notified her of my birthday). I highly recommend recommend requesting her area!

Tony G.

Yelp
Came here for my wife's birthday. The presentation was phenomenal, the service was excellent and super friendly and courteous. The food was so fresh and delightful. One of the best Brazilian steakhouse I have been to. 5 stars....

Yelp
I went to this place again for a second time 4 months since my last review for New Years Day with my boyfriend - we were the first people to enter for the day and they were very attentive even as more parties came in - I really enjoyed Chris, our server who had great humor as well as made sure to ask if we had any requests for meats, or dishes, which I always appreciate. Still would recommend! I do wish their cheese was more melted in their cheese and honey dish but small detail.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
Came here for the first time on a date. It was kind of a spur of the moment type situation. We walked in and were seated immediately. The place seemed pretty quaint, not super huge. I was pleasantly surprised with the service and quality of the meats and foods they have immediately. It was the middle of the week so it wasn't super busy, but I definitely felt like we had some type of special treatment, which was nice. They hand you a menu when you're seated. You can either pick your own dish or choose buffet type style. We love the meats... so no brainer we took the buffet style. Be aware whether your card is red or green they will still ask!! ... and almost every time we just said yes. Their food is so good it's hard to resist. The bacon wrapped sirloin was my absolute favorite. If you see them come around with a cheese that looks charred, grab that and take a bite with the steak, it's to die for!!! I had to try everything and wasn't too worried about wasting, it was all pretty much eaten at the end. After dinner, we ended the night with a desert, as well. I'm not really a desert type person, but the creme brûlée was waaayyyy too good. No regrets there! I would 100% recommend.

Yelp
We love Brazilian steak houses! We normally frequent Fogo De cho. When we saw a Brazilian steakhouse was in Gilroy, we had to check it out. It was my daughter's birthday so we were a party of 8. Four children over 7 and four adults. We made a reservation and we were quickly seated on arrival. Our server was very accommodating and personable. Drinks were served quickly. Now the food... The small bites that were brought to the table were subpar. The bread of some kind was awful. The buffet was very mediocre and wouldn't recommend it. The hot food options in the buffet reminded me of the free hotel breakfast that sits warm in the chafing dishes. There was dried salmon in a cream sauce and some kind of Au gratin that didn't look appealing. The salad bar was very bare bone. I grabbed some olives and piece of cheese. The meats that circled were ok. Be sure to let them know how you like your meat. We were given very over cooked beef. Once we asked for medium rare-ish, it was definitely better. The roasted pineapple was the kids favorite. I am pretty sure that's all they ate. We paid $600.00 for dinner and didn't order alcoholic drinks or dessert. The kids only ate pineapple. If i had zero expectations, it would be "decent". But after going to other nice Brazilian steakhouses, this is one we would sleep on. The food is not worth the price. We did love our waiter though! We will not be returning.

Yelp
Finally ate dinner at Chama Nativa in Gilroy. Two of us on a Saturday night, no reservations. The entrance is not near the parking lot but around to the back of the building. We entered to see a lovely restaurant packed with diners. Our server Yury explained how the Brazilian Experience works and all the details about the menu. She was awesome! We each ordered the Gourmet Salad Bar with one chicken breast and one lamb chop as our proteins. The Salad Bar had a great variety of salads, cheeses, fruits, etc. and we were pretty full after that. When the chicken and the lamb chop arrived, each was seasoned to perfection, but both were dry. May have been under headlamp too long. Overall, it was a great dining experience. The service was fantastic. It was very loud in the dining room as most tables were talking and happy - and there were even 2 birthdays being celebrated. It really added to the joyful atmosphere for us. I would actually give 4.5 Stars! Worth the price!

Azz W.

Yelp
Loved it took my bf here for his bday and it was such a wonderful experience. Live piano, wonderful service, and delicious food. I would recommend to anyone to go to this beautiful place!
google avatar

Lizzie T.

Yelp
I would give 3.5 stars Pros: great service, quick with new meats, wide spread/variety at buffet bar Cons: pricey $70, can be salty, some meats too fatty/tough If you don't mind the price and can eat, it'll be worth it since this is the closest spot in the area vs going to san jose.

Yelp
Yesenia was amazing. She is the best server. She has a great attitude and was very helpful. She made us feel like family and the food was delicious.

DEE D.

Yelp
This place was very good. Service was excellent and Marlette made sure we were taken care of. We did the full experience. The meat was great and they are not shy to serve the good steak. Been to other brazilian steak houses and the try to serve more chicken. This was well seasoned and flavored. We will be back again.
google avatar

Andrea G.

Yelp
Every meat was juicy! I expected some to be dry but not at this restaurant. You have got to order "the experience" you get the salad bar and all meats. The cheese bread balls were addicting. The service was attentive enough without over doing it. The two chandeliers in the dining room are gorgeous! A must try for date night or a special occasion.
google avatar

Nisha A.

Yelp
I rate this place about four starts for a steakhouse they had a really great salad bar selection with a lot more options than I expected. Service was great and omg the drinks were to die for along with the bread!

Jeren D.

Yelp
Food and service we're excellent. Nice to have a Brazilian ayce experience and not have to drive all the way to San Jose.

Yelp
Came to Chama Nativa the day after Feb 14 for a late Valentines dinner with the SO. Came out of Chama Nativa stuffed to the gills with a happy (and very full) tummy. Located in the Camino Arroyo Square shopping center (on the Target quadrant), Chama Nativa does Brazilian churrascaria and it does it pretty dang well. We made a reservation through Yelp a week prior, and when we arrived, we were seated immediately. The inside feels fancy, but like late 90's-tons-of-chandeliers fancy. Lots of red and the giant columns are covered in red flowers. First step at a Brazilian steakhouse is to go to the buffet! I opted for some smoked salmon, brie, deviled eggs, olives, hearts of palm, crab salad, and a little of their pasta (gotta save room for the meats!). Next step is to turn the little coaster on your table over to green and watch the meat come to you, sliced table-side. Highlights for me were the picanha (duh), rack of lamb (super tender), ribeye, grilled pineapple, and grilled cheese with honey! I think only one of the meats we tried was super dry (the non-racked lamb). Side note: the Brazilian lemonade is so refreshing! Get it. Our table also had a side of the plantain, fried polenta and cheese bread - all delicious! Service was also A+. Quick, accommodating, amicable. It was also cool to watch the gauchos walk around each table with a giant skewer of meat as if it was a coordinated waltz. In the end, definitely a spot I'd love to return to for an affordable AYCE meal with friendly service.

Yelp
After staying away from Valentines Day for decades I thought I'd give this restaurant a chance to restore my faith in the restaurant industry. Well I'm sad to say they didn't. They are the same like many others. They over book, under staff and under prepare for the busiest day of the year. We had reservations at 7pm like many. Got there 30mins early to checkin. The entrance was a zoo and so very disorganized and a fire hazard at that. The entrance/exit was being blocked by so many angry patrons. Wife finally checked-in we waited like many others inside but the door still open and so many more outside in the cold. 7pm comes and goes, 7:30pm comes and goes. The front lady mentioned it was her first day. One of the worst place to put her but she did her best I guess. The other lady getting people to bring to the open tables began to call out table for 2. Wait, there's a waiting list. Why is she not following the waiting list and going in order of checkin. This was ridiculous. Then she finally pulled us and told us we had a table, so we thought. Then another staff, tells her this is not for us, but the tables were being combined for a 6:30 reservation party of nine. Lack of communication. It was a plain mess. Then I look at the tables and say why aren't people leaving. That was the answer, no food was coming out. There were maybe 2 at most coming around to serve. No flow in the food. The faces on the people said it all, no smiles, their planned dates with their partners or family were spoiled. At the very least the manager could have came out and talked to the crowd. Nope, nowhere to be found and if he was there, he didn't tell anyone he was. I wish I could be writing about the Food, the ambiance and the service but I didn't even get that chance. We left as it neared almost 2hrs of waiting and kids were hungry. No planning at all. The least they could have done was place heaters outside so they could have kept the crowd outside warm and the inside path clear for people to checkin and go back out. This would have cost them chump change but again they would have had at-lest shown their concern for their customers. Maybe at first it was fine and under controlled but when you over book, and the food is not coming out. People are not going to leave, they will wait for their food. They will start to back up. To be host the crowd was not that big. I've seen way bigger. Will make note to never come here for Brazilian food. I'll rather goto Fogo De Chao or Taurinus. They are just not ready for prime time.

Yelp
My favorite meat is the picahna and i love the roasted cheese with honey. Great customer service, nice atmosphere. One recommendation, dont put the air conditioning on so low, I was absolutely freezing.

Yelp
Would not come back. We had reservations for 7pm on Valentine's Day and ended up waiting 45 minutes before we were seated. The hostess tried her best but was not seating people based on their reservation time. Once we were seated, the server did not approach us. The patrons next to us let us know that we had to go get our own plates and even gave us their own Yes/No cards. The meats took a long time to go around. We were seated in the back, so by the time the servers reached us, there was hardly any meat left. They hardly came back to us with more meat. After we finished eating, it took 20 minutes to get our checks even though we reminded the server several times. Overall, food was decent but the wait was not worth it.

Yelp
I love it when this place has their daily weekday specials. Price is totally worth it. The food here is amazing! I've never came here feeling disappointed. They also have a great salad bar selection. They have different options here and you can choose not to do the all you can eat. They have different cuts if you just prefer one type of meat. Their service is also very great and they do something nice for birthdays as well. Great spot for dates too! Nice and romantic spot.

Yelp
This was my first time coming to visit this place For my sister's birthday and I was very impressed with the food, service and ambiance! If you have been to Fogo De Chao and Espestus this place Is by far superior in every way! We made reservations for 5 pm but arrived early. Three employees asked if we have been helped and asked if we wanted to be seated without our full party being present! Amazing! Usually places say you have to wait until your entire party is present! When you come here please save your stomach and pace your self! You will have some many choices and will want to try everything! Their appetizers/self service bar was pretty well stocked and had a variety of food to start off with. They had a salad section, charcuterie, hot plate section with pasta, rice, beans, beef stroganoff, candied bacon and other things. Now for the main course which was grilled meat! My favorites were the rib eye plain filet minion, pineapple and grilled cheese! This was a small piece of mozzarella cheese grilled on a flat top and served with honey! OMG Chef's kiss! Like every Brazilian steak house they served cheese bread. This place also had yucca fries and bananas. Service was top notch with drink refills, changing of plates, brining more of our favorite Meats. I loved it and would highly recommend you try this place out for sure!!!!! They even had Andes mints for when you leave! They think of everything! I will be coming back for sure. It was a long drive from SF to Gilroy, but worth it 1000%!!!!

Yelp
Yesenia was a very good host. Bringing happy smile and great information to us. Yesenia stopped and offered great conversation telling us about herself and husband. Finally bringing us a beautiful anniversary dessert. Staff was very attentive and professional. We enjoyed our lunch and will return.

Yelp
I am definitely itself going back to this place. It's elegant, beautiful, and clean. The service is great, even when it's busy! The steak selection is amazing and delicious. Meats are juicy and of great taste. Their salad bar is on spot. I really enjoyed the meats. You could tell that they are cooked with love. Great job chefs! The bar selection of drinks is also great! You must definitely stop by when you're in the Garlic City, Gilroy, Ca.
