First time here. Will definitely come back when it's warmer and lined with flowers on the outside. The place looks Charming on the outside too. The inside felt very cozy, casual but classy. The staff was great and very attentive. And the food was comfort food who is complex flavor and not overwhelming. Well done chef!

I had my wedding in June 2025 at Chamard Vineyard. This is absolutely a perfect wedding venue and the winery & vineyards are stunning! I cannot say enough good things about my experience. My wedding was about 30 people. Amy, the even sales manager, ensured my special day went smoothly and thoroughly. She was super attentive, professional, and quickly responded to any questions. The staff serving at my wedding especially Nella and bartender Mark went above and beyond to provide such an amazing atmosphere. The attention to detail was superb, the food was amazing (my guests were raving about the salmon and filet mignon), and the decor set up in the barn reception was immaculate. Chamard even accommodated our wedding for the weather (luckily we were able to be outside!). I cannot wait to visit again, and I cannot recommend this wedding venue enough.

My God what a wonderful lunch and a delicious wine we had. This will be our new go to spot. I can't wait to try dinner here. Garrett our waiter was so accommodating and friendly. Don't miss this spot, especially if you just went shopping at the Clinton Crossing Outlets....

🍷 A Hidden Gem for Wine Lovers! 🍷 This charming winery truly exceeded expectations! From the first sip, every wine—whether sweet or dry—was bursting with rich, memorable flavor. You could tell the care that went into each bottle, and the tasting experience felt both elegant and welcoming. The view overlooking the peaceful pond added such a serene and romantic ambiance—it’s the kind of place where you just want to linger. 🌅 Sitting out with a glass of wine and soaking in the scenery was an experience in itself. And the appetizers? Absolutely delicious! Thoughtfully paired and beautifully presented, they complemented the wine perfectly and turned our visit into a cozy little culinary adventure. Highly recommend this winery for a relaxing afternoon, a date, or a peaceful escape into nature’s beauty—plus, those wines are worth coming back for!

Google
A must for anyone who loves amazing food and tasty wines. My husband and I found this place by chance, and we're blown away. Garrett, our server, was helpful, informed, and delightful. We both had different wine flights. Loved the Stone Cold White, Stone Cold Red, Sirah, and bubbly. Highly recommend the pistachio crusted salmon, Mac n Cheese, and the coconut dessert. The grounds are delightful and well kept. Don't pass this one by..

I have been to several vineyards in CT and really think that this one sets itself apart. The food was unique and I enjoyed everything I tried. The wine was excellent and reasonably priced. The environment is beautiful and upscale, but still fairly casual at the same time. The staff was very friendly even during a busy time. Finally the grounds are beautiful and walkable which also set this vineyard apart. I would recommend making a reservation before your visit, and cost wise I would say a little more expensive than average, but worth it for the unique menu. I will definitely be visiting again!

My friend and I visited Chamard Vineyard & Bistro. We had a lovely wine tasting in their tavern. We dined on Roast Duck and had a luscious white wine followed by an outrageously delicious Crème Brûlée. Their chef is phenomenal! I could eat his cuisine every day. Chamard has an amazing staff. They are attentive but never pushy. Our waiter was outstanding. We found out that Jacques Pépin had dined there the night before. I would have loved to have seen him. What an incredible man and chef. We're looking forward to revisiting Chamard soon.

As a wedding planner/coordinator, I had the pleasure of working with Chamard Vineyard for a wedding I was contracted for. Amy the sales manager was very responsive, organized and such a kindhearted person to work with! Because the weather was 50/50 with rain they worked with me and the bride to create her vision with plans and backup plans. They were very accommodating at the fact the bride wanted an outdoor ceremony. We were going to have to move the timeline a bit to make it happen and then miraculously the weather lucked out! Nella, Nicole and Mark who were the staff on site were all super friendly and helpful for me, the couple, vendors and guests. Gorgeous venue, great food and great people! Thank you all!

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I've had, ever. Our server, Garrett, was incredibly informative and attentive, while at the same time giving us space to enjoy our food and conversation. We got a bottle of the malbec and the assortiments de fromage. All the cheeses were excellent, however, the brie combined with honeycomb over the warm baguette took the prize. For our main courses we ordered the half duck and the chicken forestiere. Cooked to perfection, with a fantastic crisp to the skin. Don't skip out on dessert, highly recommend the crème brûlée. The quality of the meal exceeded expectations for the prices charged. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
What a nice treat in a sea of fried clams and lobster rolls!! An excellent selection of traditional French cuisine using local ingredients paired with local wines. The 19 Chard was very good. Enjoy!

Yelp
This is a great place. We stumbled across this place somewhat accidentally and were pleasantly surprised. We were able to get a seat overlooking the vineyard and it was incredible. Our bread was hot from the oven. The muscles were plump and juicy. My Crocque Madame was amazing, with a perfectly cooked egg and great ham. and were pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
This was my first time eating in the bistro.. cute restaurant, once it started to fill up the acoustics were better. Our server was very attentive.. I wanted a side of vegetables and he made it happen without a problem! The Mac and cheese is delicious, we loved it. Also really enjoyed the fries and mussels. The watermelon salad was a little blah, but overall great meal! We each did a flight as well, their wine is yummy! Very good ambiance to the whole winery..

Jim O.

Yelp
For a vineyard they serve terrible wine! Almost undrinkable. The service was friendly and prompt. The building is pretty and there is outdoor seating in better weather (we went in January ) We will probably give it one more try when we can sit outdoors.

Yelp
Nice for a light summer meal. Tuna salad fine, chicken pesto sandwich fine, service very good, ambiance relaxed and easy, wine inexpensive by the glass. Ask for a window seat in either the dining room or tasting room, deck is great for dining if not too sunny, rainy or cold.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I typically only write reviews for either exceptional or terrible experiences. Let me also say that I am usually a very health conscious person. If I order a burger, I'm the annoying type to remove the top bun to make it a little less guilty. The Four Mile River Farm Burger at Chamard Bistro is an experience. Don't worry about remembering the name, it's the only burger on the menu. Which also says a lot about it. There wasn't an ounce of guilt experienced while eating this thing. It is perfection. I literally closed my eyes and savored every bite slowly. I don't know what they put in this masterpiece, but the flavors blend so perfectly, it is astounding. Note to the chefs: do not change the recipe of this burger. You've reached nirvana. The rest of the experience was exceptional as well. The service is spectacular and the wine is delicious. The servers are knowledgeable and recommend things well. Now back to this burger. Oh my God.

Yelp
This is one of my parents favorite restaurants, when they come to visit us in Clinton. We were disappointed the past few times we have visited, with the food quality (seemed to have gone downhill in recent years). This being said, were extremely impressed on our visit last weekend. It seems that there were a few new dishes on the menu, and the classic french fare was re-imagined with attention to quality and flavor. This said, the service though extremely professional and courteous was a little slow. It took a while for what appeared to be the one server working to make her way to all the tables. It was busy for a Sunday afternoon! This said the young lady who served us made us feel very welcome and did her best to take care of us, and ultimately was extremely gracious. We love sitting on next to the windows overlooking the vineyard. You really can't beat that backdrop, and we love the intimate setting of the bistro. We look forward to returning soon!

Yelp
This might be one of my more frequented restaurants, especially for a nice lunch. I always get the Madame croquet, because where else can you get it?? It's been consistent over the last ~6 years which is a huge testament to the kitchen. I love being able to see the kitchen. Service is always good. Can't wait for the stone cold red to return to the menu. Love checking out the art on display, as it changes just about every time we come.

Yelp
Chamard has exquisite food. The atmosphere is nice and you can eat outside at the picnic tables if you wish and can bring your kids and even your dog. A little pricey but it is well worth it in my opinion.

Yelp
Charming place for lunch! This was our best lunch ever! Kayla our server was fantastic! She was very helpful and kind. I enjoyed a flight of wine, which was 3 2 ounce pours of your choice!! We started with the Camembert en croute. Life changing pastry with melted cheese and sliced apples with a caramel sauce. The croque madame and chicken cordon blu was served hot and delicious! I would definitely return, and recommend this great place!

Yelp
Last Saturday, I sat in the tasting room section, but ordered from the bistro. The tasting room is nice, but kind of a tight fit. There was live music (man with guitar), and that was really nice - especially being in front of a fireplace. Food: my friend and I both ordered the grass fed burger. I asked it be served without the bun. The portion was perfect, and the food was tasty - especially the fries and both sauces. The burger was $18, and based on the quality of the food and the portions, it was worth it. Downside: we each ordered a glass of the same wine. When we received our bill, each glass was $12! Way overpriced, in my opinion - we would've prefered to just order one whole bottle - I wish the waiter would've suggested it. Overall, I would visit and order food from the bistro again! The deck and outdoor ambiance are amazing (weather permitting)

Ron C.

Yelp
Been going here for years however this past weekend we ordered a veal osso bucco for $42 and it was the size of an appetizer. I tried to contact them two different ways and go no response. Foods always good (and expensive) but this was crazy bad. Too bad Based on this coupled with no response, I doubt we'll ever go back. Similar in a way to LaForresta- great food but crazy/rude management.

Yelp
Saturday late lunch venue. Great place! Refreshments: Had the tasting wine flight - any 3 glasses from wine menu. Very good option as you try 3 different wines for $15. Food: had the salad to start, friend had the Camembert which was actually a whole wheel of cheese covered in pastry, far too much to eat as came with baguette too! I had the chicken which was delicious. Gnocchi also good. We didn't need it but had dessert. The raspberry cake was not too sweet. A lovely walk after lunch around the grounds. Would def recommend this place for a lazy weekend lunch!

June H.

Yelp
I've only been there once and I took my daughter for lunch. Food was excellent and the prices were a little high but the ambience was beautiful and you're paying for that privilege.

Christine L.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant in Clinton on beautiful grounds the food is delicious and reasonably priced great wine choices!

Yelp
We went there for brunch on a way home and were very surprised of the high end quality of food. Service is good but slow. Duck dish was amazing. We will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Took myself to lunch at the bistro. I don't drink so i just ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. Not very interesting- just grilled chicken w a slice of dry ham, aioli, bit of spinach and some swiss cheese, little side salad. Roll didn't taste fresh. Edible but for $16, not great. Doubt I will return.

Yelp
This is a great find. Nestled in a working vineyard, this beautifully decorated space offers fine service and good food. They serve an excellent burger, generous omelette, interesting sandwiches, and tempting entrees. My most recent pork schnitzel was perfectly cooked, served with red cabbage, and spatzele. Service is spot on. This was our second visit and we'll return.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this vineyard. My daughter and I try to visit here for lunch every other week. Their food is delicious and the wine is as well. Beautiful property.

Yelp
I don't usually go to the Clinton Crossing outlets without stopping in at the Chamard bistro for lunch or dinner! Their Camembert en croute is literally beyond words. Amazing baked cheese in a puff pastry served drizzled with a caramel sauce, apples, pears, and a fresh baguette. A must try! I also have enjoyed their grilled cheese, grilled flatbread, farm burger, and Parisian gnocchi. The bistro itself is part of their vineyard. It has a beautiful New England style decor and is open year round - enjoy their outdoor seating and beautiful vineyard views in the summer or sit near the fireplace and enjoy some full bodied red wine in the winter.

Yelp
Love this place. The menu is absolutely awesome. Great place for lunch or dinner. You may want to make reservations to ensure a table. Every time we go we just walk in and are lucky enough to get a seating at their high tables. They also have a wine tasting room which we have not tried but maybe next time. The food is always delicious, can't go wrong.

Yelp
Has been one of my favorite lunch stops! Enjoyed the food, loved the location and ambiance. Unfortunately, my background, I'm a foodie and a French food/ atmosphere aficionado. In all of my prior visits, alone or with a friend, everything was "coursed" appropriately and thus was leisurely and enjoyable. This time, alone, I ordered both a salad and a main course. The space was not crowded and there were plenty of tables. I was perhaps just under halfway through the salad, enjoying the salad and an accompanying glass of wine when my main course, a "hot" one arrived! I was stunned. If I sent it back to the kitchen, it would have been dry & overcooked. I hadn't even considered my wine for the main course yet. Talk about feeling like bringing "bum rushed"! I had them pack up the rest of my salad and my main course, skipped a second wine and left. It'll be a long time, if ever, before I make it back there again but, based on their service, I doubt they'll care ... BTW, I was appropriately dressed for a summer afternoon and behaving appropriately

Vicky S.

Yelp
food service and ambience all 5 star! Stumbled upon this place and would make a point of going back. Book first, we were lucky to get a table

David C.

Yelp
Beautiful setting with serene outside seating .Enjoy lunch or Dinner with peaceful views overlooking the vineyard. In house Wine is a must . Food is amazing .Inside atmosphere is lovely and enjoy the cask made bar have your favorite drink by the fire Highly recommend.

Yelp
It's a bit of a drive, but I'd honestly go back there just for the baked brie alone (forgot what the dish was called). Their baked brie, apple, and honey combination was delicious - I hope they bring it back the next time we go (this was in April, by the way).
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Really loved the food!!! I had the filet special and it was phenomenal! Steak frites was also very tasty. My husband had the tuna special and it didn't have much flavor- he had some food envy. Oysters were okay but came prepared with a sauce and fish eggs. Usually like them just alone. The desserts were great. Creme brûlée was delicious! I think we will go back. However- wish they had some beer or liquor options for drinks too.

Laura A.

Yelp
Had a delicious dinner with lovely glasses of wine - Stone Cold Red and the Chardonnay - finished off with yummy desserts. Service was great. We were taken good care of and left alone to enjoy our dinner and conversation. Loved the ambiance- looked out over the vines and watched the sunset. Overall wonderful time; will be back.

Yelp
I have been to Chamard several times and every time I go I am always truly impressed. They are an incredible bistro experience. Between the classic clean New England ambiance, superb service, picturesque location overlooking Chamard's vineyards, and decadent as well as consistently delicious food and wine this place defines dining perfection. I will note that this place is a tad high end in terms of menu and wine pricing, but they use the freshest and what I believe to be as local of ingredients as possible. We love the burger. The meat is always fresh and beautifully seasoned. The accompanying greens are delicious and the fries are out of this world good (somewhere between a cross of a fry and a potato chip crispness). We have also had salads, soft shell crab sandwich (a special), the duck à l'orange, and mac and cheese, which were also delectable, flavorful, and filling, but not heavy. Desserts never fail to disappoint. Chamard also has a diverse offering of wines. The stone cold white and red never disappoint and are appealing to many palates, the Cabernet Franc is full bodied with berry notes and a warm delicate finish, the roses are not overly sweet like many in it's class, but rather delicate and floral, and the chardonnays are crisp and clean without being bitter or unpleasantly tart. All in all you really can't go wrong with anything you select. The bistro offers samples before committing. The best value is order a bottle for the table, they allow you to recork and bring the rest home. My best recommendation is to make reservations in advance (they are on open table). The bistro is not overly big and they are always busy. Wine tastings are very reasonable and are a great way to try wines before eating at the bistro. If you are looking for a classic New England outing at any time of year Chamard Vineyards is a wonderful place to experience higher end dining at its finest.

Yelp
Super dinner. Enjoyed the wine tasting room first - came home with three different wines. For dinner we first shared the watermelon salad. Perfect on a very hot day. - red and yellow watermelon with small piece of a very nice blue cheese plus a light, lemony oil & vinegarette dressing. Lovely. Barbara had the poulet that was roasted just right with nice crispy skin on the leg. I had the lamb loin over a spring risotto. Very tasty, cooked just right rare/med rare. With our dinner we had more of two of the wines we purchased. With the salad we had their semi-sweet rose - when very cold it was delightful, refreshing and not sweet (estate grapes!). With my lamb I enjoyed the canenmere - soft and alive with great flavor. Only the dessert disappointed. We weren't really hungry by this time but had so enjoyed everything we had the raspberry Napoleon.. Just average. Still, a great dinner. Friendly, professional service. Well worth the 75 minute drive. The Bistro and vineyard are a lovely place to spend the afternoon or evening. We look forward to coming back.

Yelp
Dinning at the Bistro is like dinning in a French Chateau. The Bistro pairs delicious foods with the wines made on the property. Many of the vegetables and fruits that are sourced for the bistro are from Chamard's on premise garden. Very much a farm to table atmosphere, Chamard Vineyards is a fantastic place to sip great wine and enjoy delicious food with family and friends. I hope you enjoy your visit! Cheers! Yelp
What a wonderful afternoon! We had a nice stroll through the vineyard then went inside for a late lunch. The Frose was the best I've had! Our server, Lindsey, was so nice and suggested a few dishes. The food was so good and her suggestions were spot on! We had a few wine flights which were very tasty and unique. All in all, an excellent experience and we look forward to returning!

Yelp
Should be a 4.5, but what the hay. Charcuterie Plate, Baked Camembert en Croute, a green salad with pears & walnuts and the rib-eye steak were all excellent. The olive appetizer was OK but could've been more interesting wit mostly pitted calamatas and a few green types added. The accompanying baguette was really good. Order the pomme frites if you get a chance, you will not be disappointed. Good service and good wine to boot. We sat at the low tables which turned out to be a nice quite place when the music started in the bar area. Good music, but if you like to talk to your table-mates while dining, you won't have the chance in the bar area.

MaryAnn P.

Yelp
We were on our way home from another event and stopped in on a Sunday afternoon on the chance a table would be available. It was the most pleasant meal we have had in a long time. Relaxing atmosphere, attentive and informative staff , delightful wines and delicious food. Our server Kayla was extremely helpful with her recommendations and just so nice. It was a great end to what had started as a stressful day.

Nathalie R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Nice staff. Excellent food. Definitely worth the trip, especially on a warm sunny day when you can eat outside. Also went there as a work teambuilding event several years ago. We had a family style farm dinner and wine tasting and it was wonderful!

Yelp
The wine is good for CT, the food is fantastic, every time. Not to mention the chef is fantastic with food allergy substitutes. It is a beautiful setting especially if you have a nice day and can overlook the pond w fountain. Walk around the Vineyard and do yoga in the Vineyard w pradipika. Awesome location. So lucky to have this right in Clinton.

Yelp
I was a here a few years back when they first opened. We did a tasting and then split a cheese plate and the Croque Madame. We thought it was pretty good and a nice addition to the place. Yesterday we returned for a dinner and got to experience how well this place has developed! The food was fantastic. They still had some of the items we saw before, but they also had some amazing specials. We started off with the octopus as an appetizer. It was so tender and delicious. For entrees we got the soft shelled crabs and these wonderful venison tenderloin medallions. Best cooked and seasoned venison I have ever had. The food was just amazing. Shamelessly licking your plate in public amazing. It is a little bit pricey and we did leave a tad hungry, but this place has definitely made my "special occasions" list.

Danielle C.

Yelp
Beautiful setting and delicious wines. Loved the charcuterie board and yum to the frozee on a hot day! Not many tables on the deck so make a reservation. Lovely spot... close to outlets ... and feels like Tuscany.

Yelp
Went for our anniversary dinner to the bistro. We went early to check out the tasting room and it was Friday night so there was live music. The guitar player was good and the bar was packed. We found two seats at a communal table and met a a very nice couple. We started with two wines each to taste. We each liked our wines and chose a full glass each of the one we liked best. The food looked delicious too. So we moved to the bistro for dinner. It's cozy and we got a nice table. My husband had the special which was swordfish and he said it was delicious. I had the crab cake appetizer and the artic char. Yummy. We also had some shrimp cocktail and a few raw oysters too. We split a flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Very good. My only complaints would be the lighting in the tasting room was perfect when we got there then the lights got brighter- not great. Temp in the bar was chilly too so bring a sweater. Definitely visit Chamard. The sparkling Sauvignon blanc was superb.

Yelp
It's a shame to know that in these difficult times, while others are doing their best to care for their neighbors, others are taking advantage of hard times. I experienced this with Chamard Vineyards on Saturday night. They offered a lovely take out dinner for 2, of coq au vin which included salad and charcutier. We also ordered the French tart with cream for our desert. We picked up our food and left a generous tip only to come home to a half empty tin that included 2 chicken legs and a thigh. The salad tin felt empty but there were a few leaves in there, almost enough perhaps for 1. The charcutier consisted of 2 pieces of cheese and a slice of meat. Again, not enough for 2. When I called in to try and make it right, I was put on death hold and eventually decided to hang up. I thought I might throw the chicken in the backyard for the wildlife, but my husband convinced me to just nibble on the bird bones. The flavor was okay, certainly not enough for 2 people. The tart was okay, certainly not homemade. Overall, a disappointing Saturday night. Shame on you Chamard!

Yelp
Chamard's wine is pretty good (I especially like their Stone Cold Red) but I was especially impressed by the new-ish bistro this time around. I've been to the winery for tastings a few years ago, but hadn't been in yet for lunch. We started with one of the greatest guilty pleasures of all, Camembert en croute - oozy, gooey cheese with salted caramel sauce, apples and pears, and moved on to the Four Mile River Farm burger with aged gruyere, bacon marmalade (sigh), garlic aioli and arugula on brioche. Grass fed beef makes all the difference, friends. I also tried the amazing salad Lyonnaise with frisee, smoked bacon, poached egg, brioche croutons and dijon cider vinaigrette. Our server was lovely and understood that we were in a rush (spa appointments, can't be tardy!) so he was as swift as he could be though the wine tasting and lunch. The bistro is definitely not an afterthought at Chamard - now, for me, it's the main attraction!

Yelp
This was an awesome place and I can't wait to return with friends to expand the experience! We just stopped for a glass of wine after visiting a local garden center. In addition to a nice glass of Cabernet and Oaked Chardonnay, we tried the excellent cheese assortment and smoked fish appetizer. The service was perfect. Everyone from the greeter to the seater to the waiter was spot on. We enjoyed the wines and apps very much. Probably a 5 star experience but I reserve those for places that consistently are excellent (my thinking is that a place that is able to do a 5 star job every time should enjoy higher rankings that a place that only gets it perfect once). So I'll update the rating when we return and if it's like it was this last time it's an easy 5 star place. Try this one with a big group of rowdy friends or just you and the love of your life. Just a phenomenal experience!

Yelp
This place just rocks! Not just is the food superb, the staff (Morgan, Carianne, Cooper) are fantastic. Special requests are easily accommodated. The menu is seasonal farm to table. Continental with French, Swiss influence plus some American favorites. I have not had anything here that I thought was bad. This is just an update to my prior review to say that this place has stayed consistent. I highly recommend it!
google avatar

Gavin R.

Yelp
I really like the ambiance, the staff, and the Connecticut (kind of) wines. I really wanted to like all of the food, the smoked salmon appetizer plate was very good but the entrees were not so great. I had the duck, and it was not outstanding, my wife had the rib-eye and it was really fatty. I will go back, but I might stick with the appetizers next time....
google avatar

Frank N.

Yelp
Very good charcuterie! We had to ask where they buy the zingy dijon mustard and they shared it with us! I had the gnocchi with mushroom, truffle butter, and asparagus. Nice and light, very good dish. Dishes are a bit pricey. Waiter was very helpful!
google avatar

Nirbhay K.

Yelp
We visited the tasting room and decided to sit there itself and have a late lunch. The burger was one of the best I've ever had anywhere in the world (and I've had many!). The flatbread was great too. We liked the Reisling the best of all the tasting menu wines. Fantastic ambience, location, service. A must go!
google avatar

Yelp
Had dinner with my girl friends. The place was so cozy and beautifully decorated. The food options were great. We are decided to get burgers, which were so delicious. I can't wait to come back here in the summer when it is warm out! Highly recommend this place! Plus they helped me fine a wine for me and let me taste many wines until i was happy with one.

Yelp
Not thrilled, my daughter ordered steak medium and it came well done. Food was very salty and dessert was way too sweet

Yelp
I was here with my family a few days ago when it was not busy at all. The service was terrible and my food was not hot but the waitress never came to see how our meal was so I couldn't ask to have it warmed up. I wrote a review and they must have removed it. Will not be going back to this place.
