"Established in 1875, Chamber’s Landing is the oldest waterfront bar and restaurant in Lake Tahoe. The restaurant is quite literally on the water — the bar is located inside a boathouse on a pier — and it’s known for a slushy, boozy cocktail called the Chamber’s Punch, which may actually knock you out in that high-altitude sun. So don’t forget to order a lobster roll or the pulled pork sandwich, alongside that cocktail. Chamber’s Landing is a popular stop-over for those criss-crossing Lake Tahoe by motorboat, sailboat, or the iconic old-timey wooden boat, but it’s easy to access on foot, too. Its location is adjacent to a public beach, also called Chamber’s Landing, on the West Shore." - Julie Brown Davis

Yelp
I've been going to Chambers for 45+ years. It is timeless looking at a majestic view that I have cherished my ent life. My wife and I went to our house on the Westshore on Wednesday, June 5 and decided to have lunch since we were waiting for a technician to show up at our house. The scenery at Chambers will always be a 5 but was compromised by the quality of food that we were served so rated it at best a 3. my wife ordered a cheeseburger and potato fries... Cheeseburger was well done/dry. And the big mistake was I ordered their $27 (I recall) fish & chips. when my meal arrived, both "fish" were identical, in size, which is absolutely the opposite of what a fish and chips appearance should be. Obviously the fish was purchased frozen and perhaps breaded in the kitchen,, the same size, not your typical cod. Cutting into the fish I found it tough like a well-done steak, as the breading completely fell off of the fish. The new Lessee of the Chambers Landing have a lot of road in front of them to improve their food quality.

Yelp
Very good! Food was awesome and flavorful. Service was great. Staff was very friendly and attentive, even told 'thanks for coming' while leaving, doesn't happen often. Views are also awesome. Job well done.

Yelp
What can I say about this place. It's the platinum you pay for the view. The view is truly incredible, but if you are looking for more than a view this isn't the place for you. The food was less than mediocre and I'm pretty sure everything comes out of the freezer, and Applebees does a better job reheating their food. Don't get me wrong I don't mind if that is what places do, but then don't charge 10 dollars for a kids Kraft Mac'n cheese, and top dollar for items that are not fresh. The staff was nice, and did what they could but I'm probably not coming back unless it's for the Chambers Punch and that is if I can't find a parking spot in the smallest parking lot I've ever seen for a "popular" place. I've heard this place is under new management, and they are reaping the benefits of the previous owners, because if people were basing to come here or not based upon the last year or so no one would be here based upon the food quality and prices. I hope you have a better experience than we did, but not planning to go back anytime soon.

Yelp
The atmosphere is extremely good for being in Tahoe. It's right on the water and it has the feel of a resort. The food is extremely reasonable and the staff is always friendly. I have not tried something that I have not liked. It's attached to high priced condos so I think they have to keep things perfect for that but all of us can benefit. I have also been here for just their ice cream with the kids. Worth a stop and I have been going here for years and do not plan on stopping anytime soon.

Yelp
Love this place for apps, drinks or an occasional dinner. Parking is scarce so walk in if you are worried about space. The setting is gorgeous, they have a casual dockside bar and an indoor outdoor restaurant that has local lakeside fare. This is old school Tahoe with lots of history and people have been coming here for years. I enjoy less people than Tahoe city .....make a reservation

Yelp
Probably our new favorite spot in the lake! Great food and excellent service. We had appetizers and drinks while enjoying the great view of the lake

Greg W.

Yelp
I've driven by the sign for Chambers Landing many times when traveling along the West Shore. This time we stopped and I'm glad we did. What a gem! Great service, flavorful menu and a peaceful view of the lake. If we had more time we would have a few drink in the boathouse bar. There will be a next time. Special shout out to Laurie who was a wonderful server. Hope to see you soon!

Kel K.

Yelp
Probably the worst fish and chips i've ever had. Overly fried square fish that looked straight out of the frozen foods section. Next time i'll skip the food and just enjoy the view with a drink.

Adriana A.

Yelp
Under new management. Same great service, great food, great drinks, breathtaking views. Sorry to hear that the Mexican style street corn and turkey corn are longer on the menu. They were delicious. Bring it back! Enjoyed the bahn mi sandwich and cold wine. Cocktails look amazing! Great service! Katie and Chris are the best!!

Yelp
Flippin' bomb diggity! We rode our bikes from Tahoe City down to Meeks Bay then stopped here on the way back to Tahoe City. The time of day was around 6 p.m. so the sun was still high with a stunning reflection on the water and the most perfect temperature outside. We enjoyed two Chambers Punches (AKA: Wet Woody or Rum Runner) on the dock at a table with gorgeous views and nice conversation with the guy who drives people out to their boats. In my opinion, the Chambers Punch outdoes the two competing cocktails around the lake. I could have sat there for 12 more hours, it was so amazing. I will definitely make this a stop every time I ride by :)

Yelp
Can't beat the view! Hence the 3 stars...would be two or less without... Prices have gotten out of control, and I can somewhat appreciate inflation, but $10 for a small bowl of Kraft Mac'n'Cheese is a joke! Plus no Chambers Punch! New owners need to do better...

Deanne H.

Yelp
Love the recent improvements! The outdoor bar helps speed up the wait inside. The new chambers crush is even better than the old punch! New seating is very nice as well! The bar staff seem very friendly and happy. Overall love the upgrades for the bar!

Yelp
Not quite sure where to begin? The lunch has already become a family joke. Everyone regretted going. I felt so bad that my parents took our family out to Chambers Landing. My Dad was so excited to go after family friends mentioned that the restaurant had opened under new ownership recently. The place has has so much potential, but our lunch was terrible, and it was nearly $500. There were 11 of us, 3 kids and 8 adults. Some of the adults had cocktails, but there's no way the lunch we had should ever have added up to anywhere close to what it did. The food doesn't stand up to the price point, even if it is Tahoe. You know it's bad when plates are still covered with food and no one wants a to-go box. The fish and chips were closer to fish sticks and chips. My chicken teriyaki sandwich was so salty it was inedible (they did take it off the bill). The kids mac and cheese is literally Kraft mac and cheese out of the box for $10 (my sister made come back and edit to say she thinks the mac and cheese was $16... either way...) Everyone's fries were over salted. Staff was not around when you needed them for the most part or couldn't answer questions about the menu. There was a woman who came by the table a few times and was lovely. You should be able to figure out a simple menu with good food especially at their price point. I would not recommend.

Yelp
Signs of the Lake Tahoe's popularity are evident all around its tree-lined shores. Lake Tahoe is a place where outdoor recreation and urbanite experiences merge. Even if it didn't have a view, Chambers Landing Bar and Grille would still be a go to dining experience in Lake Tahoe. The dining room is ensures that every table enjoys a panoramic vista of the mountains and Lake Tahoe through floor-to-ceiling windows. The small menu is less impressive but has some gems. The nation has been salading incorrectly for far too long, and its time someone did something about it. CLB&G salads have become a reflection of California's culinary trends. Chicken is simple meat to cook, but it's also fairly easy to screw up. We can't all be master chefs, but that doesn't mean you have to chicken out on cooking poultry. There's no doubt that our chicken was served cold and rubbery. CLB &G's chef sucked the moisture right out and left us with a dry, rubbery bird. Adding a creamy curry did not save the dish. -2 stars At a time when increased competition in the restaurant industry is putting greater emphasis on guest retention, minding all the small details of a restaurant has become a big part the dining experience. Serving a hot dish cold and not replacing with a proper meal is an amature fail. It is an indisputed fact, that excellent customer service is a must for any restaurant and if your restaurant fails to provide reliable customer service there might be a possibility that it will lose out on valuable customers such as myself. Chambers Landing Bar and Grille needs to ensure that each of its staff members undergoes the required training and is aware of the expectations that customers expect.

Yelp
If I could give this place 10 star I would! The food was amazing and the view was breathtaking. We really loved the service and the staff. We had such an amazing time at this restaurant and we will for sure be back. The only difficulty is the parking and the walk but it wasn't that bad after all.

Yelp
My husband wanted to go here and I was excited until I read the prior reviews. But then we got there and I cannot tell you how glad I am that I came here! The food was good, the ambiance was fabulous and the service was probably one of the highlights of the entire dinner. We shared the shrimp appetizer which had a mango salsa and some daikon radish to go with it 10/10. I hate old oil and poorly fried items and this did not disappoint. I also got the pork chop 9/10 - I loved everything it was amazing. The bok choy and pork chop were cooked perfectly! My husband got the burger and he loved it 10/10. We shared the mango cheesecake 10/10 and mud pie 10/10. We had reservations at 5:00pm, we left with ample time to wait for parking and we quickly got a good spot. My advice is to get there early so that you can get a parking space. We had Cassie as our waitress and she was one of the best I've ever had!!! We will return, I will get the chicken curry next time and I will try the shortcake if it is still on the menu.

Yelp
I have been coming to chambers for the last 10 years and it's a place of the heart. This is my first experience since new ownership and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Truly the food was beyond awful and outrageously expensive. The kids mac and cheese was Kraft for $10, our fries were cold and stale. The zucchini fries were actually disgusting, they were mushy and tasteless. It seems as if they were previously frozen then just quick fried. Truly awful. I'm so sad that a place of my heart has plummeted since the new ownership.

Ann W.

Yelp
We were a large group, 6 adults, two toddlers and two babies. We had a great table outside with amazing views of the lake. The server was friendly and very patient, took the kids' orders with the drink orders so their food was up quite quickly. The drinks were great, the food was excellent. Highly recommend.

Cheryl C.

Yelp
My sister and I were in town last week, so we stopped in for an early dinner. We started out with Aperol Spritz drink $19, and a Pain Killer drink $16, which were both delicious! We shared an order of Coconut Shrimp $19 & Deep Fried Zucchini $16. Everything was yummy, and we even had a nice table inside above other tables, so we managed to still have a nice view of the lake.

Todd S.

Yelp
5% service charge???? After paying fairly high prices for pretty good food we got the bill and it had a 5% service fee. We asked our waiter what this was he said he didn't know and none of the staff liked the charge and couldn't explain why it was there. Just that the owners charge that at their other restaurants in South Shore. I get supply and demand but don't sucker punch me after a meal. It leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Born and raised up here probably won't be going back to dinner here, plenty of other options at this price range. This new owners are going to find it hard to keep customers. It would be way better to add a dollar to each meal and save the heartache of the 5%.

Ryan R.

Yelp
Nothing short of spectacular. The best part of it was our server Hannah. We had the tacos and Street corn which was awesome. My wife had the veggie burger which was super tasty. The chambers signature rum drink was refreshing and not over the top like other places, we had 4. Seating was quick. Service was spectacular with no less than 4 people attending to us and the food was great. This is a must visit if you are staying on the west side or near Tahoe city.

Andriana B.

Yelp
Food it's horrible Elementary they don't want give a simple password for wifi Wouldn't come again here Place to avoid

Frank Lloyd W.

Yelp
A return visit one year later. Great view of the lake. But incredibly disappointing service and mediocre food quality. Browned stale iceberg lettuce called a salad. Waitress got entire order wrong and really just didn't care. Not a ______ to give. Then you get the mandatory 5% kitchen tip. That tells me owners are not paying a fair livable wage even when charging $40-50 per entree. The tipping and add on thing is way out of control.

Jack I.

Yelp
Eating at Chambers is all about the view .. there are some dishes that are yummy, but you come here for the view.. during the peak times and weekends it is tough to get a good view and or a good parking space. We went the other day during the week and had a few drinks (beers and mixed) and the bill before tip came to $60 ...but the view .. on the weekend we went there but all the good views were either taken or at the bar, the people said they were reserved for friends coming so we just left. If you want excellent food near by, try Dog and Bear where they have a chef that is over the top excellent or Swiss Lake Village where the previous manager of Chambers Landing has a restaurant. If you are going for the view do it during the week in early or late summer, or during off hours. Did I mention though, there is no view better .. Also top end dinning is at Christy Hill in Tahoe City or more affordable pricing is at Za's nearby both have excellent views of the sunset.

Johnny D.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my lake view sunset cocktail (Spicy Mezcal Margarita) that Katie made to perfection.

JuJu J.

Yelp
Katie was amazing. Best jalapeño Maskal margarita ever!! View unbelievable !! A must stop and smell the roses type of place

Brooke T.

Yelp
The setting is beautiful and cannot be beat. We had drinks at the bar on the pier, which is festive and the punch is good. Lunch up at the restaurant was a disappointment, so much so we cancelled our upcoming dinner reservations. The food was not good and expensive ... not a great combination. The Cesar salad that was overdressed wilted lettuce with store bought croutons. The edamame appetizer lacked any flavor. The French fries were good but my kids stopped eating the chicken tenders saying they tasted weird (I've never seen them turn away chicken fingers). Hopefully they can figure out the food situation because it's such a beautiful venue!

Dj N.

Yelp
Location location location!!! Chambers Landing Bar and Grill I believe is the oldest bar on Lake Tahoe Somehow I wish the could add more parking spaces. Anyway this is one of those special places and you know it the moment you arrive. The frozen rum drink is solid. The staff is super friendly! I ordered the ahi poke and it was good not great. The tuna had a strange color not the bright pink it should be but it might be the prep with sauces? My BIG no no with this dish is you cannot serve this with tortilla chips from a bag like Tostitos!!! Come on !!!! Please get some real tortilla chips!!!! Anyway if you have never been to Chambers, GO!!! By boat or land.

Anita H.

Yelp
I loved the food, it came out quick & tasted great. But the service in general needs a lot of work. At one point during our lunch, a different server came by to check on us because she was "babysitting" for our server. The worst part was that before we left, we decided to get some shots at the bar. My friend had nicely asked the bartender if they have mixed shot options. Then he quickly and rudely responded with "we don't make any Mexican candy shots." First of all, never specified what drink we wanted at all. We wanted to know what the options were since no one offered a damn drink menu at the bar? And secondly, mind you, I am this tan Tongan girl standing with my friend who was asking, who is this short Colombian gal. So the fact that he automatically assumed the drink choice based on what we looked like was extremely rude and racist as hell. We are here paying $15/shot. And this is how you treat us? Yeah.. let me speak to the owner.

Stacey F.

Yelp
We loved Chambers so much so we came here 3 times in 5 days. The service, the VIEW, drinks and food is outstanding. Make sure to have a reservation. We called in the afternoon and was told we didn't need one and when we got there they told us we needed one. Thankfully they found space for us. I recommend calling to confirm hours. Most places are open but they do not serve food the last hour. This is where we had our wedding rehearsal dinner. Over we love Chambers.

Rae Lynn Z.

Yelp
The views are amazing, the cocktails are good, the food was okay but nothing I would go back for. I had the Chicken Marsala, it was pretty bland and the sauce was watery and my roasted potatoes were under done and very bland. I had to use salt to help the flavor and I rarely salt food at restaurants. My friend had the filet mignon, and they cooked it well (she likes it very rare) but her potatoes were undercooked and bland as well. We agree we would go back to the pier bar for cocktails and the views, but we probably would not go for dinner. In addition, parking can be an issue, especially if you are mobility challenged and the walk back to the parking area is very poorly lit at night.

Courtney M.

Yelp
Get the Chambers Punch. Best rum punch in Tahoe, hands down. That's it. That's the review.

Jenna C.

Yelp
Came here on a random day to enjoy the beach and some food. I should have immediately left due to the poor service, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I walked up and no one wanted to seat me. I waited over 10 minutes before walking in near the bar and asking if they were still open. Waitresses walked by but when I'd try to get their attention, they'd quickly dart in another direction. Eventually was told they only had salad and pizza and that was it before she started to walk away again. I quickly said that was fine so I could finally sit down. The food was good. I ordered a cheese pizza and a salad, which I enjoyed. No one came to my table to give me water or see if I needed anything. I should have stuck with my gut and taken my service elsewhere. They clearly didn't want my money.

Gayle F.

Yelp
Love this place Great cocktails and the bartender Johnny was so great Highly recommend

Pete E.

Yelp
The dish I got -- the salad -- was atrocious. The dish my buddy got -- the fish and chips -- was quite good, with flaky, tender fish. Stick with that. We're not normally complainers, but when we complained about the salad (it looked like a bagged salad dumped onto a plate), the server graciously took it off the bill. So that was cool.

Anna V.

Yelp
If you can find a parking spot, then this place becomes worth it. Man is parking a pain but the drinks and food are solid! We loved sitting at the bar watching the birds and the lake while sipping on surprisingly strong cocktails!

Steve A.

Yelp
Brand new menus with higher prices including a $31 burger, $49 pork chop, $40 Salmon.........then at the bottom it reads " a 5% surcharge will be added to help offset costs"? "Classic Caesar " for $17 was a big let down. The punch has changed. I will say the view and fried zucchini is still great, but this place has no shame taking your money.

Sylvia Y.

Yelp
Came here for a super late lunch on Memorial Day weekend so it definitely was busy. Got the Turkey tacos and zucchini fries. Service was on the slower side. We kept having to flag down servers for everything (to place order, to get drinks, get the check etc). The food actually wasn't bad at all but just nothing special. It's the same level of quality you'd find at a college cafeteria. I would eat here out of convenience / proximity to the beach, but I wouldn't come back for a gourmet experience. Great views of the Lake from here though!

Ash A.

Yelp
Awesome food and service. Unbeatable views of the lake and the mountains. The chef made a special vegetarian sandwich for us which off the menu.

Joan G.

Yelp
Great food and service. Come for the food, stay for the view. What a great way to spend afternoon or evening. Probably one of the top restaurants in the world for views!!! Unbelievable!! Not too be missed.

Janet S.

Yelp
Don't believe the online menu. It's under new ownership. They don't have the tacos any longer or any reasonable food choices. The burger is $31 We walked out as I could not find anything in the actual menu we were interested in .

Sheila D.

Yelp
Oh, it is so sad!!!! Under new management and it is horrible. We used to enjoy going up to the grill for lunch with the kids or going down to the pier bar and grabbing a punch and chatting with the fun bar tenders. NOT anymore, with a 30% increase on food and beverage, no good children's options at the restaurant and a 5% extra charge on the bill! We are now packing our own lunches and adult beverages and taking them to the beach. The punches are not the same and the staff is so rude and rough! Don't waste your time or money!!!! The one good thing I have to say is the pier staff that help with the boats do a great job and are attentive and very helpful!

Holly H.

Yelp
Update: Chambers is under new ownership, they have lifted their absurd rules and the whole place is much friendlier and more inviting now! Happy i can come back to this family favorite once again after my last terrible experience with the previous ownership.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Food is amazing!!! Got burgers and they were so good. Get the chambers crush cocktail with a mango rum floater. You'll thank me later. ;) Service is wonderful as well. Recommend reservations. Great location, right on the water.

Antonio D. M.

Yelp
Five stars easy for the view alone. I made reservations for a late lunch but really didn't need them. Parking was a bit challenging since beach goers park there too. The hostess asked us where we wanted to be seated and the bar, with an unobstructed view of the lake, was the easy choice. I quickly ordered their signature drink, the Chambers Punch which contains a tasty frozen combination of 151, light rum, fruit juices, and a dark rum floater. I ordered two of those then ordered the tacos. While I waited, I ordered the Cheer Up which is another signature drink having Absolut vodka/soda and a splash of the frozen Punch. Tacos came and they were good. I saw another guy from Brentwood order the burger and said it was really tasty! They have a limited lunch menu and close before their dinner menu is served. Next time I'd like to eat near the boathouse, which is right on the water, and something off their dinner menu. Chambers Landing is really an awesome place to visit and from what I heard the oldest bar/restaurant on the lake. Check this place out and the view, drinks at their full bar, and friendly service will have you coming back every time you're in Tahoe.

Peter T.

Yelp
On the boat, heading into the best landing and best beach bar in Lake Tahoe.

Walter C.

Yelp
I think the food is bomb: Bahn mi Chicken Teriyaki Sando Chambers Burger (if you're hungry) Filet (excellent) Miyosaki Salmon I'm sure the rest is awesome too Thanks crew, keep rockin!

M A.

Yelp
NOT dog friendly. Chambers Landing advertises dog friendly and when confirming reservation via phone, they'll tell you they are. What they don't tell you is their version of dog friendly is tying your pup to a fence in partially sunny lawn, out of sight from tables. So, spend 10-15 mins looking for parking, walk 10 mins because they have inadequate parking facilities and get told you can't be seated w your dog. Staff were rude and unsympathetic and not willing to budge. This place used to be dog friendly. Wont be coming back. "Chambers" owns a lot of resort property on Tahoe, including a gated community and property under construction. Maybe they can afford to blow off customers. But I'll spend my hard earned money else where.

Lissa R.

Yelp
We visited Chamber's Landing last night for dinner. It wasn't super busy, but they put us at a back table, and we did have reservations. Drinks were great. The New Chamber's Crush is excellent! Zucchini sticks were also very good, and I really liked the spicy sauce. The main courses were less than desirable. Selection was minimal. Two of us ordered salads: the lettuce appeared to be old and wilted. We added chicken to both salads, and it was a very small portion, less than 1/2 a breast per salad. Porkchop looked very good. For the price, the food and service should be exceptional. I would recommend going for drinks and appetizers, but I hope they add more options. I can't recommend dinner.

Bruce H.

Yelp
Service was fast and efficient. Lovely setting and bar with views. Food was good but bit pricey for dinner. Fish sandwich was good but french fries cold and soft ..could only eat a few. Will return someday for beverage and view or hotdog down at the boathouse.
