Champagne Louis Casters

After a call to the winery, we were very well received by a friendly lady fluent in Dutch and French. We got to know about the history of the winery and how everything came to be. The tasting area was very well designed and we got to taste 3 glasses of champagne each. As a bonus, it was no problem for our dog to be in the cooled tasting area on a hot day as we were the only ones present.

This is the third time visiting this house. They have a café theme going on where they host their tastings. This house for me serves the best champagne out there. People are friendly too. Just a bit too commercial maybe. But I guess that's the new way of doing it...

We were driving through France and stopped off in Champagne. This was the first house we visited and asked if we could taste the wines. We started on the first one but the pour was so big we realised this was more of a proper tasting. When we asked if we could just purely taste the wines she said there was a sign on the door that said €20 euros each for a tasting and that in the summer they get so many people coming in to just taste and leave. Totally understand that but I think if you use your common sense and realise we were a couple coming in to just literally have a small taste to see if we would buy it. It's also nearly Christmas so it's not like the place was heaving and we weren't the type of people to be looking for free tastings. Such a shame as we were hoping to buy a case from somewhere which would have equated to more than the tasting, but I'm not going to buy wine without tasting it first. We went to a few others after who were all very accommodating.

We had a bottle Louis Casters Pinot Noir Champagne with dinner at Le Kobus in Champagne and loved it so much that next day we drove Damery to buy few bottles. We were ogfered tastings also of other Champagnes and ended up buying a mixed box.

Visited this champagne house 4 times now and they have always been very hospitable. Amazing champagne. I will come back for sure ❤️

This is a great house to visit. On my second visit they were closing to go to a wedding, but the owner remembered me and invited us in for a tasting. Their champagne is really good and at a reasonable price. Love this place.

This is a lovely Champagne house in the middle of Damery. We stopped in here because we had had their vintage Champagne at dinner a couple of times, and we knew we wanted to try to get some to take home. The nice thing about this one is that they are open in the morning and afternoon, and you don't need to make a booking before you go. They will let you try several of their wines. Since I was driving, I could only have a splash, but they all seemed really good. I think this winery is the one we brought the most bottles home from. We got several bottles of the vintage (because it was so good as so much cheaper than at dinner, only around 25 Euros a bottle I think), and a few of the others. There's quite a bit of seating for tastings, but when we arrived, it was already half full, and the other half filled up quite quickly. There are English speakers if that is necessary for you. All in all, this is a great house with great wine. If we're back, I know we'll be making this a stop to pick up more of their delicious wine. (They also sell pre-made French food like foie gras that you can take away with you as well.)
