Champs Sports Bar & Grill

Stopped here with a large group of guys on an annual golf trip. It was pretty busy when we got there but the service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious! Myself and one other guy had the Philly sandwich, both of us loved it. We ate in the outside area, which was a nice option. The inside has a cool atmosphere, definitely looks and feels the part of a sports bar, with 2 levels. Super cool place, would definitely stop again if in the area.

Typical sports bar look, great burgers and pretty good long islands. Fries were super fresh and hot! Service was friendly and quick, plenty of room for a stroller. We will be back for sure.

Champs Sports Bar in Lake Geneva has an awesome atmosphere and is the perfect place to hang out with friends after a day at the beach. They serve Spotted Cow on tap, which is always a hit, and the cheese curds are top notch. A fun and tasty spot to relax and enjoy.

Thanks for giving us a very pleasant experience after a very disappointing one at a nearby bar. We were welcomed in by a friendly person on the door, and then our waitress was very pleasant all around. Our waitress- wish I caught her name-was friendly, checked on us with perfect frequency, got everything right, and quickly got 2 TVs changed to our game for us. The burgers were just okay, a little greasy, but overall we had all our needs met happily!

The experience was terrible. We walked in, sat down, and it took over 10 minutes to get served in an empty bar. Mind you, the waitresses were 5 feet away at the bar, talking and doing nothing. We ordered and the food was made pretty quick. However, it sat on the bar staring us in the face as the waitress was outside smoking. She then came in and proceeded to eat food while we sat and watched our food get cold on the bar. After 12 minutes, she came over and grabbed our food. We both got chicken wraps and one order of fries. You have to pay for the fries as you only get an old dried out pickle slice as your side. The fries were cold, and the wraps had no guacamole, as stated on the menu. Whatever, we ate the food and wanted to leave. After being done, waiting for our check. When I mean waiting, I mean waiting…… not even a check in for more drinks… NOTHING. Waiting in agony to pay for our food and leave. I finally had to get up and ask the bar manager to close out our tab. Our waitress was sat at a table, the entire time we were eating and waiting for our check after, talking to her coworkers. He asked who our waitress was, and I said I have clue. Terrible service, and sub par food. Will never step foot in here again. Don’t waste your time or money. *I wouldn't bring kids here either*

Will never go back food was horrible. 1st of all ordered garlic fries they tasted sour. We had chicken strips which were frozen ,chewy , and some crunchy stuff. Soda was flat. Service was good though. Also they take cash. This place needs a make over all around

Really nice outdoor seating area, very busy and really slow service. When we finally got our food about 45 minutes after ordering my badger burger tasted like the smell of cow manure I couldn’t eat it and my boyfriends was just as bad. All of our food was cold and soggy, and ended up being about $75, definitely not worth it at all. Very disappointing.

The wife and I ordered a nachos appetizer with fajita chicken. We were not expecting such a huge order and had tons of leftovers to take back with us. Our server was great and right on it with everything. Even with drinks and it was half off appetizers our bill was $12 and change. We will definitely go here next time we are in town.

$2 for a slice of cheese on a unassembled flavorless burger. No pitchers, and who watches Savannah bananas.

Wisconsin has a bad reputation for not giving two f@@@ about customers. They will screw you over at these restaurants. They close when they want.. Stop serving when they want. My husband placed an order to go and didn't get the losers name who took the order not that that would even matter in Wisconsin. No accountability. He gets there and they tell him they stopped taking orders. My husband is not insane because he talked to somebody who took our order for dinner. It's 5 o'clock around the clock in Wisconsin. Everybody stoned from buying their weed in Illinois over the border for the weekend or the shrooms. Right now where I live. The only sober people are my husband and I. How could you make ILLINOIS look good? The writings on the wall. Time to leave the STATE because it's good for absolutely nothing. You can get a DUI here and keep on driving. Because this is the drinking state. They don't give a rats ass about a sale for two dinners. Because they make all their money and booze. Not to mention the last time we had their food it's nothing but greasy fried garbage. I've been a business owner. For 37 years and I only love to do good reviews. But the pain of these losers and losers get you to a point to where you have to do a bad review. So if you're coming on vacation, don't come here to eat, just drink and you could do that anywhere!!!

The food was disgusting. The restaurant was very nasty and dirty. Even the service was awful. Overpriced with worst quality food. Don't eat here.

By So the staff was great the food ok. The beer was cold so we started with curds. They were good I do like them and it was a large portion. We then had a Philly it was ok. I was cold and hungry so it fit. We had chicken nuggets, I think taquitos, and a wrap. We were all hungry. And every one ate it all no leftovers. Every one seems to like it. It was super busy and we managed to get a table we were lucky. The bathroom was small for the place only two stalls. A easy to access and close to everything. Probably reply fun in warm weather. Try it for yourself. It been around for a long time

Such a fun sports bar. The place was packed and we sat wayyyyy on the side of the bar. I was a little concerned we wouldn't get any service over there but we did and it was perfect. Ordered a few drinks and food. The server kept our drinks full and checked on us often. Would be a great place to watch football too.

An employee kicked us out for supposedly flushing a roll of toilet paper down the toilet. That was not acceptable or accurate, my friend and I were just trying to have a good time with no problems and we were kicked out because of other individuals. Will not be coming back to this location. This employee rolled the roll of toilet paper to us under the stall (which is very unsanitary) and after our use of the restroom picked on us and didn't let my friend even wash her hands after, just kicked us out. Again I do not recommend this bar, if this didn't happen I would have recommended it for drinks only.

If you pay for TouchTunes they will turn it off and waste your money!!! They completely ignored all the money I put into their machine.

Server mark is a dog, he's a hound, he's the best server around. This place is THE BEST!!! If you have the chance to come you'll leave a changed person.

Frozen burgers, watered-down drink specials, terrible toilets and stupid staff. Run away! Go to Magpies instead.

Solid sports bar in town. Drinks seems a little pricey for Wisconsin, but really can't complain. The one thing that was annoying was that the pool table is right on top of the dartboard and when it gets crowded it's really hard to do both the same time. Enjoyed that the waitresses were coming up to the table so you didn't have to wait in line at the bar every time. Would definitely come back if I needed a drink in the evening.

Food decent. Drinks good. Staff amazing! Ambiance is very sporty. Pool table and basketball hoop to impress or embarrass yourself in front of everyone

This place was good overall. Some things to note: they don't serve food until noon (might be different on weekends but not sure), they don't have sweet potato fries, their menu has changed a bit, but service was pretty good and the food was well made. I would recommend them.

Best bar/restaurant in Lake Geneva Wisconsin ! Order the Taquitos Mondays are kinda cool

Visited Lake Geneva last week and had a great time everywhere we visited, with the exception of Champs. We decided to have drinks and an appetizer at Champs while watching some March Madness. We walked in & saw a couple of stools at the bar. As we started to sit down, a guy with dark hair, facial hair, and glasses told us those weren't seats & to find another place. Alrighty then, our mistake for thinking stools at the bar might be an actual place to sit. So we found two stools on the other side of the bar and decided what we wanted to order. The bartender, a big older guy, was hateful and rude. My friend couldn't see the name of the cider on the tap valve, and he acted like she was stupid. On top of the unwelcoming, rude treatment from workers, the place was generally dirty - sticky bar, food all over the floor, etc. We had a drink there, but decided against ordering food & pretty quickly went elsewhere. Check out some other options if you're in Lake Geneva and looking for a sports bar. There's bound to be something (actually anything) better.

We were in town and stopped to grab some food. It was a little before 8 o'clock and figured grabbing dinner would be no problem. We sat down, told our waitress we'd like to eat and she handed us the late night menu. The hours on the menu were 9-12.. but whatever, we were starving, we'd eat anything. My husband ordered nachos with meat. $9.99 and then $3 extra for meat. They were the crappiest nachos I've ever had. They came with the gross round tortilla chips and nacho cheese with ground beef dumped on top. That was it. The fries I ordered were terrible and the taquitos were- well, frozen taquitos you get from Costco. Terrible experience, we'll never be back.

Love Champs! I've been coming to this Lake Geneva Classic for decades and it holds a lot of great memories for me. A great sports bar with lots of TVs available to watch any game that's going on, as well as some games you can play (basketball, pool, darts, and a golf video game). Their bar is large and they offer a wide variety of drinks and good beers on tap. They always have New Glarus on tap, which I'm a big fan of. They also have fantastic specials throughout the week--like their $2.50 1/4lb burgers every Wednesday night (at least in the off season, not sure if that applies in the summer too). Speaking of summer, in the warmer months they have a large back patio that's very nice to sit in. They also have live music and different events going on throughout the week. It's not the cleanest bar, but it's also not the dirtiest. Kinda average on that front. The servers can be hit or miss but ours tonight--Amanda--was fantastic. She was super friendly, attentive, helpful, and nice. We really enjoyed our night here and will continue to come back here for years to come!

Great food and service you can't go wrong with champs. Inside bar areas very comfortable and the patio is tough to beat.

Champs is a fun spot to visit if you're just in the mood for drinks (nothing I've ordered here food-wise has been worth the money). The service is quick and the vibe overall is fun, especially if you're watching sports. They've got a couple slot machines and an indoor basketball hoop, plus a pool table but it's usually too crowded to play. Champs has plenty of seating and some good people watching seats at the front of the bar. Would recommend it more for hanging out and not for lunch or dinner.

We tried the chicken phili sandwich as well as Italian beef. Both sandwiches were just ok. Service was very good and the atmosphere was fun.

It's a great place to hang out and be loud with friends all while playing some bar games on New Years Day! We ordered gyros and fries!

Just went to Champs in Lake Geneva. Worst service I ever had! Literally 1 hour just to get a few beers and chicken nachos. These Nachos were a gourmet price with an easy bake oven skill level. It was the same nachos you get at the public pool. If you should happen to go to this place everything is a la carte as well. Do not sit it the pool table area cause you will be forgotten! They need a better menu, cooks, and more servers. Never again! This place should take lessons from Nikko's Red Tavern in Woodstock.

I love Champs! The menu is straightforward American bar food, it's cooked right behind the bar and right in front of the whole restaurant. Is basic, but I don't think they are worried about Michelin Stars here. There are plenty of good beers on tap, which I think is more what the bar is going for. The most fun things are the basketball hoops, inside and out, the pool table and darts. There is so much to do in Champs, bring you kids and have fun. FYI, $3.50 1/4 lb burgers on Wednesdays. My son had two!

Great food, service, and beers! Stopped by for lunch and they had a pop up food truck Sunday menu. Got the burger and some loaded anchors with pork! Add some local beers with that and it was a hit! Cash only for pop up menu/beer was in-house so CCs accepted.

Champ's is an embarrassment as sports bar and doesn't deserve to be on Lake Geneva's main strip. They're preying on tourists who don't know any better. At first glance, inside and out it looks like a pretty cool place. But that all changes when you start talking to most who work there, including the managers, and taste their food. The service is awful and the food is bad sports bar food. You could do just as good ordering from a concession stand at a high school football game. (No offense to high school concession stands.) The ONLY reason I stopped in on Sunday, Oct. 1st was because they told me, when I called earlier in the week, that they did indeed have the NFL Sunday Ticket. I also know they have many TVs, well set up for watching multiple sporting events. But I when I arrived with my family to watch many NFL games, the 15 or more TVs were all on the same noon game. When I asked the manager to put on another game she said that she couldn't and she didn't know what the NFL Sunday ticket was and that this was the only game that was on. (And it wasn't even the Packers.) I had to go to the outside back bar, which I had multiple games on, to have that bartender come in and put on the multiple games that the their many guests wanted. The manager also told me and the fans who showed up that day to watch some NFL football, that they wouldn't turn off the music on the PA and put the volume of any game on, even the featured regional game. The outside bartender cam in later and put the game volume on for the paying customers. My family ordered some bar appetizers which was quite poor. Nachos were like movie theater nachos. I also had to clean the plates and garbage from our table, while our waitress sat on her phone near the bar. We all left at halftime, when my son called me and said, Magpie's - a few blocks down the road - also had the Sunday NFL ticket. What a difference! Magpie's is such a good place to hang out and watch the game, with a great atmosphere! Champs is awful.

Came here once in the off-season, and it was still fairly busy. Sat at the bar, had a few beers and the obligatory cheese curds. Cheese curds were honestly up there with some of the best I've had. Saw some other reviews here mentioning service, and although ours wasn't awful- I could see it. There's a basketball hoop and a pool table despite not being a very large place. All in all, worth stopping in, and I'd go again when in town.

Is just a bar. Low quality food. Dirty tables. Very disappointing. Some or most of these reviews are lying about how good it is. A menu with about 10 items on it which is ok but half of the ingredients they don't got so it was sad. This bar should be on an episode of bar rescue. I would say tho that the staff was pretty nice tho.

The owners need to sell, get an owner who actually cares about food quality and sanitation. This place would be so much better if obvious changes were made.

Walk in...$1 PBR Monday special....they see us reading the menu...we walk to the back bar and they cover it with an envelope Nathan's hot dog went from $3.50 to $8.00 with the taping of an envelope....only excuse we got was because "not on holidays" FU Champs...six hungry people walked and and went elsewhere to eat !!!! Good thing you got that extra $3 on the PBR...missed out on a $200+ lunch....you're false advertising jerkoffs ...that's one middle finger for each of us !!! On Yelp next... Their response was sad... "We do $1 beers and specials to get a gd local crowd during the week we offer great specials why do y think we would do $1 beers on a holiday? One of our busier holidays? also I like my socks. I Don't need your business" I guess it's all about locals and wearing classy M***er F***er socks.... NEVER AGAIN

Great for watching sports. Bar food is pretty good - recommend getting there early on game day if you want a seat. Staff is friendly and fast.

Terrible, awful, waitress was lousy, bad bad attitude Place was loud, drunk people all over the place Shrimp didn't come with what it should have. Burger didn't even come with fries, seriously? $15 and no fries. Avoid this place, very disappointed

Like I've always said... can't beat drinking in an old bank. If I had one last meal, the deep fried pizza rolls from Champs would be the appetizer. If you're lucky, you'll get a side dish of bartender/server Amanda. She may not be an angel, but after a quick glance and interaction with her, you'll be singing "Hallelujah!"

Went there for new year's and it was a male mid 40 year old bartender that was so rude never thought I would experience a racial situation but when it was my turn to order he looked at me gave me a look and helped someone else. Disgusting!

Stopped in for lunch, chicken tenders, Wednesday hamburger special 3.50, had onion rings, terrific, cheese curds also quit good.staff was great, attentive and took great care of us. Clean restrooms beer garden in the back. All good will be back.

On a day when the lakefront spots were crazy busy this sports bar served its purpose well. There's a nice beer garden outback but that was full so we sat inside near the bar. Not super clear if they were understaffed that day or if you're supposed to go up to the bar to order. Either way, after waiting awhile the bartender came over and took our orders. After that things moved very fast. Cold beers fast. Lunch food orders fast. I had the walleye sandwich and it was very tasty. Worth checking out if you're looking for a less busy more laid back atmosphere compared to the lakefront.

This place wasn't too bad! Sports bar obviously but food was pretty good for a sports bar. Came with some hungry people.. okay.. it was really just the 3 of us but.. ordered a lot off the menu. The grilled cheese and soup, app platter, grilled wings and firecracker shrimp. If it wasn't for the bar/ wine selection this place would've gotten another star! Food was pretty good!

Stopped in for a late lunch today while visiting the area. The place was busy, and only had 2 servers for the entire place. We were patient as the staff were hustling and doing their best to serve everyone, they get 5 stars. What brought down the rating today was the awful food. We ordered nachos, a cheese quesadilla, some fries, a couple high noons and a soft drink. The nachos were store bought chips with cold nacho sauce. The quesadilla was tiny, cold and the cheese wasn't melted, but hey, the fries were piping hot and good. Left there dropping $60 for this highly disappointing smattering. Oh, and everything is served in paper contains and small paper plates. Sorry to say, I can't recommend this place, in fact, I suggest going a bit out of town to get more bang for the buck.

My sandwich was so bad my wife wouldn't return it I did not want to argue with my wife just Payton I would not recommend this place. I'll be good for a beer with their food. Horrible, horrible, horrible horrible

I recently visited champs looking for a place to eat but also a place to have fun, and man did they deliver both of those things. I ate in the outside beer garden and the service was outstanding, my food came in hot and very quickly. I will be returning to champs many times this summer.

Real decent sports bar. Food is okay, but not "fantastic". The beers were ice cold and fresh. Staff was attentive and friendly. Parking situation kinda sucks though - make sure you pay before you park. I was safe, but saw a ton of cars with tickets

Service was good and quick but the food was underwhelming and super mediocre. There were bugs in our drinks although that's not totally their fault, food was greasy and unseasoned. The pizza rolls had NOTHING in them there was like a piece of sausage and that's it. I wouldn't reccomend there's plenty of better places around here.

Pre-cruise Bloody Mary stop. Had a few Bloodies and some cheese curds before a lovely water front tour of the lake. I would come back for some bar type vittles when in town.

Bar is dirty. I sat down to have a beer and it was wet and sticky. I asked the staff to clean it and it No luck. They didn't really know their beers and, at 4:45 on a Sunday, they said their kitchen was closed. Outdoor area has opportunity to be nice and they had a decent band, but not enough to make me want to come back.

The bartenders are great. We love that there is an option to sit outside as well. Live entertainment is also great. A lot of positives here. But... a big negative.. while sitting at the bar inside we were sitting directly across from the food condiment "station"... we watched two employees(cooks I believe) continuously grab lettuce with their hands and put in their mouth and then stick their hand in the lettuce again. That area behind the bar is also an eyesore and needs a good cleaning. Not saying we wouldn't go there again but we definitely would not eat there again because of what we observed.

Went here with hubby for lunch on a Thursday. The special of the day was chicken sandwiches for $3 each. We weren't sure what to expect because of some of the negative reviews on Yelp, but the food and service was amazing. Our server seated us promptly, even encouraging us to sit at another table because I noticed our table was clammy. Apparently the laminate on the table was a bit scrubbed off. The inside is full of sports equipment, with tables made with golf bags and bowling balls, tvs around, more sports equipment, a hoops machine and at least one pool table. It is large and airy and has a casual vibe to it. They have many daily specials, so be sure to check out their website. We had our drinks promptly and the waitress did mention the special of the day. We decided to order a cheese quesadilla, a chicken sandwich with BBQ and ranch on the side and a basket of garlic parmesan fries which we were going to share. We received our drinks promptly and the food rather quickly afterwards. The quesadilla had about six pieces in it, chock full of oozy, gooey cheeses. There was a good sized container of sour cream and salsa for it. It was hot and full of flavor, very good. The chicken sandwich was a thick, moist piece of chicken on a very fresh, soft large bun (hubby's comments on bun). The BBQ sauce was tangy. The ranch they brought was a pre-packaged brand but was nice for my half of the chicken which I ate without the bun. The fries were way overpriced at $5 for a basket, although I can say the basket was rather large and they were really good. They were thin and crispy and covered in a layer of parmesan garlic topping. There fries were hot, crisp and super tasty, but it would be nice if they reduced the price and the amount of fries. Our server was efficient, coming to refill drinks promptly and bringing the check as soon as we were ready. The bill was around $21 and we would definitely go back when it town. Don't listen to the negative reviews and give them a try.

The worst place I've eaten in a long time. Had to ask for water twice. Had to ask for Utensils twice. Got charged for a drink I never received. Terrible service. Ordered a burger with no bun and literally got a patty, no tomato etc. never coming back

Worst service ever server brought my wife's shrimp basket out ten minutes before my beef sandwich and then blamed cook did not even give me a copy of bill just said I owe 46 dollars worst customer service I everhad

Champs is a great place to visit in Lake Geneva. We went here every night that we were in town for a wedding. There are only a couple of awesome, party bars on the main strip and this is definitely one of them. Not only does Champs have a fun (and free) basketball game inside (and outside), but it has an amazing back patio too! When you walk in, you may not even know it is there, but it is awesome. There are also heat lamps out there at night so you can enjoy the ambiance (and cool vines back there) even during the colder times of the year. The food at Champs is okay. Nothing to brag about, but definitely solid bar food. If you don't want to spend a ton of money but want something to fill you up, this is a good place to check out.

I was with a group on 20. A work function after dinner getting together and the manager came over and said to one of our group- our bartender is uncomfortable because she says you took a picture of her. She did not take any pictures of her and even showed her phone pictures. The manager said well I have to check and when I said if I was a bartender she said well you are a guy implying that gender has anything to do with pictures being taken. I will never and anyone I know will never go here again.
