Chanceux - Review - Latin Quarter - Paris - The Infatuation

"Just steps from Notre Dame, behind an antique wood-and-glass façade, sit some of the best toasties this side of the Channel. The pastrami with housemade pickles and Swiss cheese is a stunner, but the mushroom melt on hearty rye toast—with garlicky almond pesto rosso and a creamy blend of gorgonzola and mushrooms—is the one to beat. Each sandwich is served halved, perfect for admiring those impressive cross sections or sharing with friends. The industrial-chic dining room is nice enough, though with its high, backless stools and intense overhead lights, we think you're even better off digging in at the nearby Square René Viviani, a scenic park with the perfect view of the cathedral." - Emily Monaco

Was very busy when we arrived so we ordered take out. We got the Mushroom Melt (hot sandwich) and Bun Jambon (cold sandwich). Our favourite was the Bun Jambon it was sooooo goooooood. Highly recommend. The Mushroom Melt was okay but got a little heavy towards the end. Look at those cross sections!

One of the best, fresh gourmet sandwiches I've ever had. Good quality ingredients amazing flavor and fresh- in-house bread. Lovely service. the server (possibly the owner) was very polite. Might stop by this place again. 5/5

I had the Mushroom Melt and was surprised by how filling it was — I felt full halfway through, but it was so delicious I couldn't stop eating. Ended up finishing the whole thing and enjoyed every bite. A very satisfying meal!

Very good food from a limited menu which was further limited when we came to order but I didn’t see anything on the display that I didn’t want to eat. Coffee was good and tea too, if not quite what I’d ordered. Staff appear untouched by any sense of urgency normally associated with catering but respond to encouragement. Small but a good atmosphere and just far enough away from the tourist trail.

Great experience, the service was fast and everything was very good. We had the clafoutis for dessert and couldn’t recommend it enough 🫶🏽 Location is easy to find and close to the center, in a very typical neighbourhood of Paris.

One of the best - if not the best - place to have a brunch in town. First, the food is simply delicious. The recipes are perfect, balanced, a careful mix of flavor. I can’t begin to imagine the amount of time the cooks needed to achieve such a results. Second, drinks are very good. A good coffee isn’t hard to come by in Paris, but it’s always appreciated. Lastly, because of its location that makes it ideal for moving after wherever you want in town.

Perfect place for a breakfast ! Cozy , a bit hidden but easy to find. I took a sandwich with a tuna salad and my husband took bacon bun breakfast, everything is super tasty and served really fast.

Very cute cafe located near the Notre Dame. It’s inside a quiet alley which is great for doing some work or a quick catchup with friends. They serve hot and cold sandwiches and we tried the portobello and schnitzel sandwiches. Serving wise it is super generous especially the huge chicken patty. Overall flavours are above average and good for a simple meal. Loved the coffee though, super rich and delicious. We got the 50% offer off the Fork and it was quite a steal! Would definitely recommend that.
