We had an absolutely amazing experience at Chandler’s. From the moment we walked in, the service, food, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor, and the ambiance made the entire evening feel special and relaxing. A huge thank-you to Caleb and Bo-Dee for going above and beyond to make our night truly memorable. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism elevated the experience even more. We can’t wait to come back—Chandler’s never disappoints!

This was my first time here and it was lovely. The restaurant is low lighting except for in all the places it matters which made for the perfect lighting. Our server and his assistant waiter where amazing. We sat right behind the band and although it was loud it wasn't overly loud. They started us out with a delicious amuse-bouche. I wish I could remember exactly what it was, but I know that at first it seemed bland and then there is a burst of flavor. Very tasty. For wine we order a glass each of the the following wine. -Patz & Hall, Sonoma Coast, ca '22 *Was very easy to drink but very oaky -Joseph Drouhin, Pouilly-Vinzelles, fr '21 *Was so crisp and smooth. Wonderful We ordered the crab cakes, they were delicious. I wish they had been slightly more crispy. The sauce was delicious. We both ordered the filet mignon, it came with a broccoli and a tomato topped with yumminess. I ordered my steak medium well and my husband ordered his medium. They came out well crusted and cooked perfectly. (made us think of the steak from the matrix.) In addition we order the Yukon potatoes and the asparagus with hollandaise sauce (which could have used 3* the sauce). I also ordered the crème brulee and it was also well crusted. The crack was perfect. The butterscotch flavor was good and not to strong. Although I kind of wish it had been a standard crème brulee custard. The decaffe coffee was also very good.

During our temporary move to Boise, my boyfriend and I frequented Chandlers, spending both of our birthdays and Thanksgiving becoming a date night favorite. The staff is exceptional, warm and accommodating, and the atmosphere is always welcoming! Among our personal favorites on the menu were the tuna tower, boat scallops (can be ordered individually as an app), burrata salad, salmon gravlax, sole amandine and of course the chocolate soufflé-order in advance if you want to avoid wait the 15 min prep. The food was always prepared to perfection and we’ve always felt great after dining here. Truly appreciated the level of care and attention of service leaving every visit as memorable as the last. We will definitely miss this restaurant! Tip: Your valet will be validated next door for dining in.

First time ever coming to Chandler‘s. Our waitress Kim was extremely kind. She had amazing suggestions. We did receive some steak tar tar, which we were unprepared for what that actually was. Not a fan, and she graciously removed the appetizer and offered any type of replacement if we would’ve chosen. The food was incredible. The presentation was beautiful and the mahi-mahi was delicious. Hunter, the server assistant was on top of it as well! What a fantastic fun way to celebrate 40 year anniversary.

Heard this was the best place to eat in the entire state. I don't know if my standards are too high, but I don't believe the restaurant lived up to the hype. The atmosphere was fantastic- very calm and comfortable. Service was beyond exceptional. It was phenomenal! Our waiter Zach was attentive and smooth, never annoying. The experience was memorable. The food, not so much. It wasn't horrible or impossible to eat, but it wasn't any better than anywhere else that costs less than half of what my party spent. It was a very pleasant experience, but the food left a little to be desired.

Abasolutely 1st class experience. Atmosphere is a fine dining experience. Low light, good conversation, nice table cloth and utensils. Fine wine menu, impeccably cellar’d. Food was amazing. I tried both the smoke + silk and a red light drink and they were both very good. For dinner I had the tower of tuna, crab cakes and carrot cake. Everything was delicious, especially the crackers rhat came with the tuna, and the lady that was singing was great.

We visited Chandlers Steakhouse on 1/6/26 for a birthday dinner and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were greeted warmly and, thanks to our reservation, were seated right away. The ambiance was exactly what you'd hope for in a fine dining establishment: warm, inviting, and dimly lit. To top it off, there was a live jazz band playing, which provided the perfect sophisticated backdrop for our evening. Our waiter, Mark, was exceptional. He greeted us warmly and already knew we were there for a birthday. He walked us through the water options and provided excellent wine service for my fiancee's Washington Syrah, ensuring she tasted it first to make sure it was to her liking. The Food: Bread Service: Do not skip this! The house-made sourdough and French bread were served warm. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we loved the olive tapenade that came alongside the whipped butter. The Filet Mignon: My fiancee ordered the 10oz True West Prime NW Filet (medium-rare). It was exactly as expected: juicy, delicious, and finished with a slight char on the edges that we both loved. The Prix Fixe Menu: I opted for the 3-course meal. The Wedge Salad was crisp, and the Braised Bone-in Short Rib was incredible. The meat literally fell off the bone at the slightest touch of my fork. It was served over a parmesan risotto that was equally delicious. The "Chocolate Bomb": For the birthday dessert, they brought out a chocolate lava cake with freshly whipped cream and a hot fudge drizzle. It was the perfect ending to the night. Final Thought: Be prepared to pay a premium for the food and atmosphere, as this is definitely not a cheap meal. However, for a special occasion where you want world-class service, live music, and perfectly cooked steak, Chandlers is well worth the investment.

The food at Chandler's always delivers, it would be nice to see them change things up a little bit. We eat here 2-3/year, I'd bet, and over the years, not much has changed. We enjoy the Jazzy Lounge ambience. This past visit, however, the service was lacking. My wife and I were out celebrating a special occasion and there was a significant period that we were completely forgotten about. I literally had to get up and ask about our first bottle of wine, that was coolered, after we sat with empty glasses for 10 minutes. I have very high expectations for a $1k dinner and this was not it. What's crazy is that I recently was on a cruise that had better table service. 4-night cruise for 3 = $1000. Dinner for 2 at Chandlers = $1000

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and had heard mixed reviews from friends, but I wanted to form my own opinion. Let me start by saying that the service was excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our entire visit. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the high price point. I ordered from the three-course Prix Fixe menu. For my starter, I chose the Lobster Bisque. It was rich and had several nice pieces of lobster, which I appreciated, but overall, the flavor was surprisingly bland. For my main course, I ordered the Veal Piccata. I love piccata, but this was unlike any version I've ever had. The menu described it as having a "lemon butter caper sauce," but what arrived was a creamy onion sauce with capers. I couldn't taste any lemon, and the onion flavor overpowered everything else. The veal itself wasn't the best quality, with noticeable connective tissue and fat. The broccolini was fine but unremarkable. However, the mascarpone polenta soufflé was outstanding (rich, creamy, and delicious)! Honestly, if I could have just ordered a plate of that, I would have been completely happy. For dessert, I chose the Fromage Blanc Cheesecake (made with goat cheese), and it was fantastic! It was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Honestly one of the best cheesecakes I have ever had. Overall, my meal would be a 3/5. I would return for the cheesecake and polenta soufflé, but my husband's experience sealed the decision not to come back. He ordered the Ribeye (medium rare) with the $35 Oscar-style addition, which included Alaskan King Crab Béarnaise sauce and asparagus. For a steakhouse that charges hundreds of dollars for some cuts, you'd expect the steak to be cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, his was rare, not medium rare, and the center was inedible for him. I tried the crab sauce and found it extremely salty and fishy, and to make things worse, he found crab shell pieces in it. The asparagus spears were large, tough and bland. It was a major disappointment for him and he was too upset to return the dish despite my suggestion. For our anniversary, the restaurant kindly brought out a complimentary Chocolate Soufflé, which was a thoughtful touch. Sadly, the first bite (without the toppings) was flavorless, without even a hint of chocolate. It desperately needed the chocolate syrup and Grand Marnier cream to have any taste at all. All in all, it was a very disappointing $300 meal. Exceptional service and a couple of standout dishes couldn't make up for the inconsistency and poor execution in the rest of the meal. We will not be returning.

I've eaten at all of the top 50 steakhouses in the United States. And when you run the numbers, Chandlers ranks a staggering fifth best! We were recently in Boise and revisited this delicious upscale eatery. While I'd realistically rank Chandlers down around 25th (in my personal opinion), that doesn't prevent it from being a fabulous steakhouse! It's a very good place to have dinner in Boise. The steaks are incredibly tender and professionally prepared. Chandlers even offers American Wagyu from the famed Snake River Farms and imported Japanese Wagyu. The lobster bisque and scallops were both very good but better exists. However, the complimentary bread service is spectacular, as is the olive tapenade butter that accompanies the bread.

A friend recommended we stop in at Chandlers while we were visiting Boise. We already made dinner reservations at another restaurant with friends so we stopped at Chandler's prior for an appetizer and a cocktail. It was just after 5:00pm and they just opened. We grabbed a seat at the bar which was perfect as we could see a 2 price band was setting up to play just off to the side. The restaurant was already busy with diners. I can't remember our bartenders name but she was excellent. Very efficient and professional. The young man who was the bar back was watchful and attentive as well. I would expect this from a high end steakhouse and they delivered. We first ordered cocktails, a gin & tonic and a dirty martini. The gin& tonic was delicious, served in a gin goblet. The dirty martini was served in a proper martini glass instead of a coup glass like so many places do these days. Thank you! A proper ice on the pond dirty martini filled to the rim! For appetizers we shared fries and a shrimp cocktail. The fries came out hot and crispy with 3 sauces. My husband said the shrimp cocktail was very good. We were lucky to enjoy their live band while sitting at the bar. I really enjoyed the vibe at Chandlers and will drop in for dinner next time we are in town.

Visiting my sister here in Idaho we had to come to Chandlers. We arrived a little early, so we waited in the bar for our table and there was a live band playing, which gave the bar a cool jazzy vibe. We were taken to our table and the ambience in the dining area was beautiful. I love a good ribeye and this one was exceptional with a light crust on the outside, which is high end for sure. Of course you pay the price for great food but you have to do it at least once in your life of course I've done it hundreds. What can I say? You only live once!

I have never been to Chandler's and had a bad experience. Whether you're sitting in the bar just having drinks and appetizers with friends listening to music or having a romantic date. This place always serves beautifully. This particular night was a holiday and I had the prefix meal. I chose the duck two ways, with an autumn salad and carrot cake. The duck was super flavorful moist and tender with a tangy and sweet cabbage and creamy polenta. The polenta surprised me the most as it looked really harsh and almost dry but when you cut into it it was rich and creamy and paired beautifully with the duck The clunky version being my favorite.

As a lifelong Boisean who dines out several times a week, Chandlers is hands-down my favorite restaurant in town. The service is consistently impeccable, and the food is outstanding every time. I truly appreciate the reliability; there's something comforting about knowing exactly the level of quality you're going to get with each visit. The ambiance is equally special and elevates the entire experience. I honestly can't say enough good things about Chandlers.

We were in Boise visiting family and my girl had been to this place before and raved about it. To be honest going in I was a bit skeptical about foolishly associating upscale and anything in Boise. Fooled I was! Chandler's is probably the best steakhouse I've ever been to--doesn't even come close to any steakhouse in any major metropolitan city. Greeted by the friendly staff outside and as we walked in the friendly faces continued. We were sat in a booth right behind the musicians we started with some oysters which were absolutely delicious--cleaned and shucked to perfection, we asked our server if we could simply try the carrot and ginger soup and when we did we just had to order it, it's a must. We had the prime grade New York strip cooked (medium) and it was absolutely finger licking, melts in your mouth delicious. So tender, juicy and flavorful, didn't need any of the sauces that they so nicely provided. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We will most certainly be back with an appetite.

I think this has to be my favorite steakhouse in the US. They are very high-quality food and service standards. Not to mention they serve fresh Idaho potatoes, which are delicious. It's an elevated and elegant experience with very high-quality food. If you're in the Boise area and are looking for a nice meal, I would highly recommend.

I was looking for a really good restaurant to take my husband to just because I love him. Chandlers was recommended to me by my boss. Well let me tell you, this place was the best restaurant we have ever gone too. The food, service and atmosphere, not to mention the free valet parking were spot on. The price was very fair for what you get which was nothing but perfection. We will definitely be making Chandlers a regular place to go from now on.

Chandler's does elevated dining so well. From the atmosphere in the restaurant, to the gourmet food, they can do no wrong. There is no bad option on the menu, everything I've tasted has been divine. I got the Alaskan halibut with asparagus and mashed potatoes and it was delicious. Chandler's is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion! The service we received was next level. They know how to do fine dining well!

We ordered the crab cakes and the shrimp . They serve the shrimp with this sourdough toast- ooooohhh- I could eat that for every meal for a week. Our bartender was amazing funny, quick, attentive. They have a piano player that brings it all together. This is ALSO close to everything in the middle of town.

Classy, nice interior with a nice bar. Live music that set a chill mood. Service is top-notch. Limo Salad was good. Excellent food all around. One of the specials tonight was the Wagyu sampler that had a 3.5 ounce cut of three different regions (Australian, Japanese, and American). Japanese won easily with American second and Australian in third. Came with Belgian french fries which were excellent! Halibut and filet were both delicious. A good steak should never need a sauce and this was the case here.

We went to Chandler's for dinner boys a week and it was our favorite stop for the entire week! To start with the service was beyond compare. The servers were happy and friendly.

I really wanted to like Chandler's but it didn't live up to my expectations. Please do not get me wrong, the food was good, just a little less than the mark I believe they should be at. I ordered the carpaccio as a starter. Carpaccio is thinly sliced raw beef usually lightly seasoned with olive oil and some herbs. This is so you can taste the meat and the seasoning. The carpaccio at Chandler's was drizzles with a horseradish sauce and Dijon mustard. I could only taste the horseradish and Dijon. I really wanted to be able to taste the main component of the dish and it was lost. The smoked rib eye... I asked how it was smoked and if it could be cooked to medium rare. The waitress said it could. I asked about the a la Rossini as I do love a good reduction and foie gras is one of my favorite things. The steak was good, but not medium rare. It was light pink in the very middle... The reduction was a bit sweeter than I like and the consistency of the foie gras was undercooked and a bit slimy. Overall a bit underwhelming. The sides I had included the mac and cheese, potatoes au gratin, and the rosemary potatoes. All were good, but just good. The bread service included sour dough and a leaf bread with a tapenade and herbed butter. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Though this level of restaurant should blow you away with what they offer, and this did not.

Everything you could want in an upscale steakhouse experience! Incredible ambiance? Check. Exceptional service? Check. Fantastic food and beverage menu? Check. This place is not to be missed when you're in town!

I was taken away of how nice the restaurant looked inside. It's simply decorated with a nice wine bar. The greeters were pleasant, warm and welcoming. The wait staff was unbelievable - they gave you the feeling that they wanted to work there and took pride of the restaurant. Very attentive, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Coming from San Francisco and being a meat eater, I didn't think much. I felt nothing can compare to San Francisco's Steakhouses. Boy, was I wrong. The food was excellent - cooked to perfection to the way you like it. It was one of the best lamb chops I ever had and I had many. The lamb chops were not overwhelming - the spices brought out the taste of the meat without the lamb taste and after taste. It kind of melts in your mouth as you chew it. I highly recommend this if you eat lamb. The pork chops were amazing. It's one huge piece cut like a rib, about 3 inches high. It was nothing I had ever seen before. The lobster bisque soup came with a tiny glass of sherry that you pour into your soup. The summer salad looked fresh with no wilt leaves. The special fish of the day was excellent - nicely seasoned and cooked just right. Presentation of all dishes were excellent - color, layers/height, smell, arrangement, garnish and served temperature hot. The highlights were the soufflé and chocolate bomb. The chocolate bomb is like a mousse in a chocolate covering. The serve staff prepares it at the table. It's enough for at least 2-3 persons after a delightful dinner.

A visit to the bar was clouded by the blond cocktail waitress. She would behave differently with the males when a woman would leave the table and would hold her menu in front of her chest when dealing with a woman. This needs to be fixed to keep an elevated level of service. Disappointed.

Chandlers did NOT disappoint! We wanted to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary somewhere special and I made reservations easily through the website. We had high hopes just from Yelp and word of mouth, but had no idea it was this caliber. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the get-go. Valet was friendly and courteous. Checking in was seamless, inviting and welcoming. The decor was classy and cool at the same time, with a moody yet warm dim lit feeling. We we early, so opted to hit up happy hour in the bar. The bartenders were prompt and attentive...ordered the cosmo and it was delicious. Nice touch to have potato chips as bar munchies. We were picked up at the bar by our host, who offered to take our drinks to the table (never had this level of service anywhere before!) with cheerful chatter on our way to be seated. We were quickly attended to by our attendant, then followed by our exquisite waiter, Daniel. Started off with the Huckleberry Lemon drop and a limousine salad with butter leaf lettuce, onion straws and Roquefort dressing. Both were exceptional. I had the corn fed 10 oz filet mignon and Gouda macaroni and cheese. Husband got the 16oz ribeye with truffled frites. Everything came out timely and at the perfect temperature. The steaks literally melted in our mouths, and though the trio of amazing steak sauces (bearnaise, chimichurri, cognac peppercorn) were magnificent, the steaks really didn't need them. The haricot verts and tomato provençal almost seemed unnecessary. Gouda mac was decadent and cheesy to the point of glutinous. Frites were crispy without being oily. If perfection was a meal, this would be it! Service was so wonderful. As a sweet touch, they knew it was our anniversary and we received a complimentary chocolate soufflé. I don't know how we had room, but we made it work. We had an Irish coffee as a dessert compliment. Soufflé was soft and hearty, with a decadent chocolate sauce and whipped cream. The Irish coffee had coffee brewed to order and though heavy, it was a nice cap to the night and dessert. I want to celebrate every day here!

We came here with some friends on a Friday night for some dinner. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. My steak was dry-aged but it wasn't as nutty as I thought it would be. I ordered the cowboy cut 24 oz for $70 and it was a pretty big portion. It was bone-in and cooked to perfection. I had a taste of my husband's duck two ways and it was delectable and seasoned well. Our friends ordered the lobster and the Japanese A5 wagyu. The a moelle steak topper also wonderful. The ambiance is romantic and really nice. The service was excellent.

Favorite food in idaho for sure, the service and attention to detail when it comes to the waitstaff is unmatched and the live music is just the cherry on top!

What is not to love, Amazing food, ambiance, live music, elegant and romantic! Jeff our waiter was very knowledgeable and professional explaining each dish to make our mouth water with anticipation! I had the 55 dlls, prefixed menu that incudes soup, salad or vegetables, 4 different entrees to choose from and dessert!

To me Chandlers is easily the best restaurant for food and service in Boise. I've been there many times and have never been disappointed. This past weekend we attended a wedding reception held there. There was no difference in the quality of the food or service, even when serving 40 people. Each person could order from a menu with choices of appetizers, salads, entrees (4 choices) and a desert to take home. All food was hot, cooked perfectly and everyone was served at the same time. This perfect orchestration just blew me away. Everyone that attended was praising the food and service.

Upon entering i was told there were no spaces available at the bat. Suddenly a more accommodating hostess announced that therr were indeed space. A seafood and steakhouse? The filet I asked for was medium rather than medium rare and couldn't be "charred because of our ovena" ?? Ryan and Datee bar staff were very gracious and helpful. Would not recommend the " wild mushroom soup. I asked for a Belle de Briellet stinger Not available. A beautiful hotel and restaurant but a 4 star want to be.

Everything was absolutely Amazing. The service was the best I have had in years. I think Chandlers I the best restaurant in Boise and one of the best meals I have had.

We recently dined at Chandler's in Boise, and it was an outstanding experience. Our server, Craig, a knowledgeable sommelier, was such a wonderful guy, really enjoyed our experience and we have mutual friend master sommelier Chuck Furuya, Craig and his team did such a great job so passionate what they do. This is more on me, nothing to do with the restaurant, but the way the seating is set up if you're looking for more of a musical vibe with live jazz, asked to get set somewhere out in the open area, not in the various wine rooms. on the other side if you're looking for more of a romantic dinner and the wine rooms are perfect. The food was extraordinary. We enjoyed a Wagyu steak, which was incredibly tender and flavorful, and a perfectly cooked Bone-In Short Rib. The sides were equally impressive. To top it off, we indulged in a Grand Marnier Chocolate Soufflé, which was the perfect ending to our meal--rich, sophisticated, and indulgent. Overall, Chandler's offers exceptional food and top-notch service, making it a must-visit steakhouse in Boise. Can't wait to come back... o

It's really good food but for how expensive it is I don't think it is worth the money, service and Ambiance is great though just a little overpriced

The service was great. The thing about steak is that I always think to myself that I could have had this meal at home at half the price but I had to just make myself enjoy the moment for what it's was, a celebration. My anniversary, no dishes, no clean up afterwards, just back to the hotel. All the food was great but two martinis, a couple beers, two appetizers and one steak, fries, and marrow side and bread service. Almost $300 including tip. That's a bit much for my liking. But again ambiance and service was great.

Erik was the best server we had. He was attentive, paid attention to all our needs, and made anything we wanted happen. I truly believe everyone needs to experience this level of service once in their lifetime cuz it was truly a pleasure.

Celebrated our 50th Anniversary at the steakhouse with our closest friends and family. It was an amazing experience.

The food was literally horrible. The Amuse Bouche tasted like it had been sitting in a warm refrigerator for a week. The scallops were at least several days beyond their expiration date; the tomato that accompanied the filet mignon was rock hard and mostly flavorless. The carrot cake had no flavor but sweet. The filet was of decent quality and cooked to order but was cooked to order and edible. The only good thing about the crab cakes was their very small size. I've eaten here a number of times in the past and the food was of decent quality and reasonably priced. This was overpriced low quality very tired food. A $300.00 meal I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Absolutely loved our visit to Chandlers! Our server, Bodie, took such good care of us and was wonderful the whole time! I've been wanting to try Chandlers since moving to Idaho because I heard that they had A5 Japanese Wagyu. I wanted to see if their quality was just as good as what I'm used to. My usual birthday tradition is to splurge on A5 Japanese Wagyu, which I would get at Morimoto's in Napa. I was surprised to see that Chandlers' A5 Japanese Wagyu is slightly less expensive per ounce, so I ended up getting the 10oz vs. the 5oz. It was absolutely delicious! So rich and the texture is like butter -- definitely worth the price! Make sure to order it with their recommended temperature. My steak came with two sides, so I got the creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. I was surprised to see that the portions were pretty substantial for fine dining side dishes. Definitely not complaining though -- both were delicious and well-seasoned. My husband got the smoked ribeye which was also good. I'm just personally not a big fan of strong mesquite smoky flavor, but if you're into that, definitely try it! And because it was our first time at Chandlers and were there for a date night, Bodie was kind enough to bring us the chocolate soufflé on the house! The soufflé was so good, especially when topped with their orange zest whipped cream. Great texture, just had the right amount of sweetness, and wasn't too rich for chocolate. Other things to note: typical of high-end fine dining, they start you off with an amuse bouche, which was a great palette starter. They also provide you with some nice warm and damp hand towel after your meal, which made my hands feel soft afterwards. The bread service (upon request) was amazing! I'm not a bug fan of sourdough, but their sourdough dinner rolls were delicious. Their focaccia was also really good, especially paired with their champagne butter. Bread service also came with an olive tapenade which my husband loved. I also got the huckleberry lemon drop cocktail which was sooo good. I don't drink often, but when I do I prefer sweeter cocktails. The lemon drop had just the right amount of balance. Overall, we were very impressed and satisfied with our experience at Chandlers and will be definitely coming back! At the very least, I'm glad I can go back to eating good A5 Japanese Wagyu steak every year for my birthday, haha.

Let me start off by saying, I'm new to the area so simply searched "best steakhouse in Boise" and chandlers appeared so we walked in with that expectation in mind. Very pleasant staff, waitress was a delight and so friendly. The steakhouse has an heir of outdatedness with cutlery and decor which I haven't seen in a long time royal blue tinted drinking glasses reminiscent of decades in the past, along with lace doilies on the serving plates. Started with the bread and shrimp scampi, nothing memorable. Next came salads, beet salad was the best thing all night. Looking around at the patrons they all seemed to be enjoying themselves and loving their food which informs me that this place truly is top notch for the area - steak and halibut up next. Best thing about the filet was the chimichurri sauce but again, nothing memorable. Desert we took home, and wish I hadn't. Unless friends invite us out specifically here again, my money and time is better spent elsewhere.

Very nice place. Been there many times and always good. Don't know if I will go back. Party if 8 last night and they charged me $120 to open 2 bottles of wine. Way out of line. Careful if you bring your own bottle

Incredible experience as usual, our server Jeff was top notch, sommelier was excellent, and as always the manager stopped by to see how things went. We had a variety of items, oysters and scallops stole the show. Music was great, ambiance was fitting, and pace of food coming out was perfect. Best in the city, and has been for years, keep up the great work Chandlers!!

After a day reveling in the vibes of the Treefort Festival, my excitement was as high as my hunger level. As a hardcore steak aficionado, I heard whispers around town that Chandlers was the place to quiet the carnivorous call. So, I ordered their New York steak through my hotel's room service, ready for a meaty masterpiece. Expectations? Sky-high. Reality? A crash landing. The steak that arrived was less "New York" and more "New Yuck." It was as tough as leather and as flavorful as a cardboard tribute to beef. Each bite was a chewy challenge, and not even my festival-fueled hunger and a buzz could mask the disappointment. Halfway through, I surrendered, leaving the plate as a memorial to my $100 that could have been better spent on, well, nearly anything else. I really hope this was just an off night for Chandlers, especially since locals sing its praises. Maybe the steak lost its way from kitchen to room service? Whatever the case, it was a letdown this time around. Here's to hoping for a better steak-out next time, or maybe I'll just have to dine in to see what all the fuss is about.

An overall fabulous evening at Chandler's starting with the valet parking and closing with a chocolate bomb dessert! Every food item was perfect, lobster bisque, crab cakes, side salad, grilled halibut, terrific! Our server Bodie was so great, answered our questions, and helped us make decisions on wine and menu items that suited us perfectly! We just couldn't figure out why Emily Stanton's mic couldn't be turned up enough for us to hear how clear and expressive her voice could be! Clearly she can sing and loves to do it, she shouldn't be held back because her microphone only has a low setting! Let her SING! Singing louder would just strain her voice and she shouldn't have to do that to be heard. Overall, we loved the food, service & ambiance and we hope to hear Emily sing next time. Chandler's (scale of 1-5) I am a very tough grader. A 5 means the subject in question is among the best I ever had. A 4 means it is in the top 20% of similar items EVER. A 3 means it was good without any significant detractions. A 2 and it just wasn't worth it. A 1 means it's worth suing over.) so, for Chandler's in Boise, this was my experience: Gin & Tonic (Botanist Gin): 4 Halibut: 5 Scallops: 5 Sashimi (the dish was called the black orchid): 4 Flank steak: 4 Berry cobbler: 5 Service (waitress Aurora): 5! This was the best of the best places I ate in Boise, which I found to be a great restaurant town.

The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made this place feel like a second home. The food? Amazing.
