Go to Chang’s Kitchen Restaurant for the dry-fried wings - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation
"Chang’s Kitchen Restaurant is right across the street from San Tung and their legendary wings. But in the window of this Sunset Chinese restaurant is a sign proudly proclaiming that their dry-fried wings are “San Francisco’s BEST.” While we have yet to find any that topple San Tung’s spot on the throne, they’re undoubtedly excellent, and you should absolutely order them. Also pay attention to the other Chinese dishes, like salt and pepper pork, housemade scallion pancakes, and mounds of green beans with pork. If you’re quoted an incomprehensible wait time at San Tung, this is your best backup plan. And even if you're not, it’s always easy to get a table, no matter the size of your group, and you’ll leave satisfied.
Food Rundown
Dry-Fried Chicken Wings
You’re coming here, you’re getting the wings (and in case you forget, just look at the many photos of them plastered on the walls). They’re slightly spicy and a bit on the sweet side, but all around delicious.

Green Onion Pancakes
Starting things off with these housemade pancakes is the move. They’re not overly greasy and maintain an audible crunch around the edges.

Shanghai Styled Rice Cake
Served simply with cabbage, pork, and the occasional carrot, this is a great dish to round things out.

Shanghai Steamed Dumplings
These are fine, but missing any identifiable burst of soup. We’d skip these and focus on the bigger entrees.
