Is there a zero star option? This place is a joke. Similar to other comments I have seen posted here, a friend and I decided to hit a few breweries on the PubPass and drive out of our way to start here. When I pulled my PubPass out, the gal behind the counter said, " sorry, we don't accept those anymore". I asked why? She said because so many breweries have been struggling lately due to COVID that they decided to stop participating in the promotion.
Interesting I said, because this place is packed, and so is every other brewery I have visited this year. Then I asked, are there other breweries in the book that have also decided not to participate? She said no, just us. I attempted to give her a business 101 lesson by telling her that the whole reason for the booklet is to get customers into your establishment who otherwise may not have come. It's called marketing. Nobody just drives 20 minutes for one free beer. They get their free beer and then order 2 or 3 more. (That's a net gain in case they were wondering, but perhaps they struggle with math and economics .)
Then they tell their friends about the place, and they come back again and again.
We figured that we were already there, so we each begrudgingly paid for one beer. Those were the first and only beers they will ever sell us. Like many people who purchased the PubPass, my friends and I frequent these places and meet up with friends on a weekly basis. The two free beers they were unwilling to honor likely cost them hundreds of beers from just me and the people I know. Not to mention all of the other people who had the same experience I did.
Well, that decision backfired on them. Their stinginess and lack of business ethics not only lost them this customer, but will have a ripple effect down the road. Shortsighted decisions can have long term ramifications. . We'll see if they make it!
