Chào Bạn

"As its name, which means “hello friend” in Vietnamese, suggests, Chào Bạn is the epitome of friendly and easy going. In the kitchen, Chef Madame Hang gives traditional Vietnamese recipes a new spin with modern techniques and much aplomb. Her nem rán cua (crab spring rolls), deliver balanced flavours and contrasting textures. The menu’s Dac Biet section is a treasure trove of her creative signature dishes." - Michelin Inspector

Delicious and authentic food at Chào Bạn! We loved the fresh rolls with pork & shrimps, fish cakes, beef in lá lốt, grilled pork with mắc mật leaves, and especially the stuffed squid with pork in tomato sauce. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Warm service and a cozy atmosphere make this a must-visit in Hanoi!

We were a bit worried we wouldn’t get a table without a reservation, since this is a Michelin-listed restaurant. Luckily, we came on a Friday around lunchtime and only waited about 10 minutes before being seated inside. The staff welcomed us warmly, which made a great first impression. We ordered two of the 3-course lunch sets for two people, and everything was delicious. The seasoning of each dish was on point, and the soup that came with the ribs had a unique flavor we'd never tried before – it was surprisingly good! If you're visiting West Lake in Hanoi, I highly recommend stopping by Chào bạn for a meal. It was one of the most satisfying dining experiences we had during our trip!

A quaint quiet restaurant outside of the old town. Beautiful ambiance combined with unique dishes that delight the food palette of modern Vietnamese cuisine. I had the fried pork spring rolls, so good we ordered another round. The pork ribs were fall off the bone good and a Vietnamese take on BBQ. I will be coming back hopefully soon.

Looked up "Michelin Guide" on Google maps and this restaurant caught our attention. There weren't many customers when we got here at around 5:30, right when the restaurant reopened, so we got a table right away. After going through the menu, My girlfriend and I decided to get 4 dishes which included pomelo salad, grilled pork, pork ribs and the stuffed squid in tomatoes sauce (we actually ordered 5 but sadly the waitress came back and told us they ran out of clams). All the dishes came out really good and we both agreed that all the food is "refreshing" with all the herbs. Definitely worth coming if you are in Hanoi!

Love our meal. The fried spring rolls were exceptional, the pork ribs were fall off the bone with great flavor and the grilled pork was full of flavor and tender. So far this wins for best meal in Hanoi after being here for 3 days! Will definitely be back.

WOW let me just say that I’m blown away. I’ve had many spring rolls in Hanoi and these are by far the best fried spring rolls. Perfectly crunchy while the crab and filling is soft and light — it’s a lovely contrast. And these ribs!!! They come recommended for a reason!! Absolutely do not skip! The location is very quaint and sitting down feels like I’m in my grandma’s home for family dinner.

Absolutely amazing Vietnamese cuisine with some really unique and interesting dishes! We ordered the coconut shrimp, chicken, rolls, and vegetables - everything was delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the shrimp were peeled and prepared flawlessly. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Great food and atmosphere, really deserving of the chefs choices and Michelin guide deserving. A great choice with loads of flavour and speedy service! A must try in Hanoi.
