Way overpriced. I’m not sure how you justify charging $20 for this. A French Dip is the simplest sandwich to make. Assumed for $20 it would be big. Nah. Flavor was pretty good. But the amount of food for the cost isn’t worth it.

It was suggested I attend this restaurant. The hosts and hostesses are very welcoming and have amazing presentations. The servers we'd had are very diligent and kind. The dishes all taste great.

Sat at the bar on a slower Tuesday. Didn’t understand the burger of the week came with a tomato aeoli, (against my personal preference against mayonnaise) and once the bartender noticed, offered a new bun and apologized at no fault of her own. Thank you Brooke and the team for the service and excellent meal.

Second time visiting and so far consistent. It’s a sports bar setting with multiple TVs and channels. There was plenty of parking on a lunchtime Saturday. It wasn’t particularly busy and noise level was appropriate for the level of guests. I ordered the Shaved Brussels Salad with grilled chicken, goat cheese and dried but plump cranberries: A nice hefty portion with moist chopped chicken and super fresh salad with citrus vinaigrette on the side - as requested - without onion or bacon. It was exactly what I wanted, and I barely left a cranberry on the plate! My mom had the same side salad (without chicken) as her upgraded side with the Smother Me Naked bunless burger plate. It was cooked as she requested at medium well. Mom couldn’t stop talking about the cute, tall waiter and how nice he was. My husband concurred that he was very attentive. Mom’s only complaint was the weak coffee brew, but she likes it extra mean and dirty (as in extra strong), like mud, so can’t blame the restaurant on her preference. What she really wants is espresso, and a sports bar is not the time or place! Hubby enjoyed his Chipotle chicken club with bacon and cheese served with sweet potato waffle fries. No complaints. He’s a man of few words but enthusiastically said it was good. Our meal prices were $15-$18 each and worth very penny. Mom wanted dessert, but we were on a mission, so next time. We will be back!

We recently decided to give this restaurant a try and had a mostly enjoyable experience. Our meal started with chips and guacamole, which were fresh and delicious—a lovely beginning. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Club, which had great flavor but could have used a little more chipotle mayo to bring out the zest. The bacon was a bit chewy, but the chicken itself was nicely prepared. I chose tater tots as a side, though they could have been a bit warmer and less oily. My wife went with the Prime Rib French Dip, which had good flavor overall, though a touch more seasoning could have enhanced it. The accompanying Cavatappi pasta was tasty but arrived slightly cooler than expected. My mom ordered the smash burger, which she enjoyed, especially with the above-average fries. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant overall, though we noticed a few small areas that could benefit from a bit more attention to detail, like a few flies near the window and some dusty areas. There was also a seasonal gourd that, while charming, appeared to be past its peak. These are all small adjustments, and we’re hopeful they’ll be addressed, as this spot has a lot of potential.

Went here after supporting my niece's gymnastics event. I was surprised by the food and service in how mid it was. I got the fried chicken sandwich BLT and it was barely seasoned. The size of the chicken was OK, more bread than meat. The ranch that was put on helped it. The Buffalo chicken dip was fine. It's probably better than the sandwich. The waiter completely ignored my table. I had to get his attention. The outside seating was nice and warm. Not sure if I'll try this again. Maybe

Pros: Diverse menu Delicious food Opportunities: Takeout portions are smaller (but not bad) Items missing from order I'll give it another try, because we enjoyed our meal, and the menu has something for everyone. They just need to train the take-out window staff a little bit. They were very polite, but the opportunity for them is to check the accuracy of the order before the customer picks it up (especially when you're being tipped) The outdoor seating is great, haven't dined inside yet. UPDATE, 2 YEARS LATER: I've been here a dozen+ times more since the original review, and we're big fans. One of our top 3 go-to places in South Charlotte.

First time being here in a while and i just have to say the service , the food and atmosphere was amazing Our Server (Amir ) was Fast , Friendly & Made Sure The Drinks and Food Came Out Wonderful!! loved how they had every sport showing on the tvs , even the alcoholic beverages were fantastic!!! Definitely will be back !!

What a perfect "neighborhood" spot for a great meal! We had the fried mushrooms, the black bean burger and the new crab cakes. All were exceptional. The crab cakes have a lot of meat and little filler which is THE benchmark of a great crab cake. Liz, our server was fantastic!

A hot summer night and here we were, waiting with a massive body of other people for a table. It was crowded, every table occupied, plus there was a long table set up in front of the bar for some sort of party. It was Saturday night. We waited and reviewed the menu, which on first glance is sandwiches and burgers, but there are other more sophisticated options. Seated, we had to yell to converse with Sydney C., our server. There is a pretty good wine list for bottles and wines by the glass. We opted for their Malbec ($9). It was too hot to eat much so we had a Smother Me Burger ($17.95) which my wife enjoyed. I did the Fish and Chips ($17.95) which was a sizeable serving and was very good. French fries were so salty that I asked Sydney if I could have it replaced with normal or no sale. No problem. She snatched my plate and returned with fries that were still steaming from the fryer. We think that a repeat trip, not on a weekend, is in order to give us a better idea as to who they are and what they can produce.

We love this place. Not all the menu items are great but there are some really amazing items- white bbq chicken pita, # 7 burger, chicken tenders, nachos. We take our dog all the time and the servers all remember her.

Char Bar has been completely upgraded, from the space to the menu. The food is delicious, especially the shirmp tacos, and the service is excellent. Staff are friendly, the food comes out hot and fast, and everything ran smoothly even on a packed Sunday night. We had burger, nachos, sweet potato tots, and fried mushrooms, all were great. The outdoor seating is a major plus, very comfortable and enjoyable. They don't have a liquor license yet, but you can easily grab a bottle of wine from the nearby Hariss Teeter. Prices are reasonable, and the menu offers plenty of great choices. The Smother Me Naked Chicken and Bacon Burger are favorites. It's a perfect neighborhood spot for a casual meal with family or friends. Definitely coming back to try more.

Love the Char Bar 7 in Greensboro. Ordered my favorite Prime Rib French Dip. The sandwich was very good, as usual but the juice was super salty. The CB7 chip fries were overcooked and salty. So disappointed in the food. Server was sweet and accommodating. This has a great outdoor seating area but with 90+ degree weather dining in the air conditioning was a better option.

Ordered take out. Had shrimp tacos and smash burger. Both 5/5. They have a pick up window on the outside so you don't have to go inside. I did see the outside seating area which looked nice. I look forward to dining inside next time.

When I was seated, I was told the live music would not begin until 830. This was at 6:30 ; we ordered and then the music began , 20 minutes later, two tables away from where we were seated? We asked the waitress to please ask the manager to ask them to turn it down just a little. Didn't happen. We were unable to hear each other at all. The food was okay but then we couldn't pay our bill?? We even took the bill to the bar, but no one would get it for us. We finally paid the bill and we left. I will never EVER return. Huge huge disappointment and waste of money.

Good food and great atmosphere for friends and family. A good weekend spot to hangout.

After looking for a new place to watch football a friend recommended Char Bar on Carmel Road. Nice TVs and lots of them ! There isn't a bad seat in the house. The food was really delicious and the service was great! The hubs had a salmon dinner and I had a steak salad. Both were just delicious. We had a fantastic view to watch our poor Raiders lose another game so to keep our spirits up we ordered a delicious cheese cake dessert which did the trick. It completely made our meal just fantastic ! It was delicious! Great menu, delicious food and lots of screens, Char Bar 7 located on Carmel Road is now in rotation! Two thumbs way up!

WOW. just had the absolute worst dining experience in years. Service was terrible. Food was cold, and order was wrong. Tater tots had freezer burn (and were cold, yuck)! both tables on our sides had issues with incorrect checks. Waiter never bothered to re-fill our drinks. We had to order another glass of wine/beer from the bar. Way too expensive for US foods pre-cooked bar food. Manager was completely useless, not supporting staff when clearly our waiter was first day on the job. Do not recommend and will never step foot in this dump again. Icing on the cake - most tables were empty, not bussed and the floor was filthy.

We love char bar!!! The ambiance is amazing. Seriously SUCH an upgrade from their last location. The renovation is amazing and all the decorations are beautiful. The food is amazing. The shaved Brussels salad is my go to. So filling and so good. The beer battered mushrooms as a app is amazing and the smothered chicken is so good. Everything I get is delicious and you really can't go wrong. The menu is rather pricy but it is all so good. They have a full bar as well with TONS of TV's showing sports, so fun! The service has not been good the past few times we have gone which is why I'm giving them 4 stars. We go for lunch and there are always not a lot of guests in there. It takes a while for us to be seen, then we will be sitting there for a while, needing something and haven't seen anyone for an extended period of time. Lots of time with drinks empty. I've tried to give them a second chance but we repeatedly get this experience. I would still go back though the food and ambiance are so worth it!

I come here almost everyday and the food is great almost everything on the menu is good to me. The service is awesome too and the place is like a modern barn and they have outdoor seating as well, overall just a great place to go.

So, I'm gonna have to say no to this place. Yall need a second bartender on Saturdays because the one from yesterday was unfriendly as ever, and I've never felt more like a burden sitting at a bar. He did not say hello when I sat down. Did not ask if I'd been there before. Never checked on me while eating my food. Possibly one of the few cackling hostesses at the host stand could've helped him out instead of screaming across the restaurant if people were cut or not. Onto the food, which was decent. The breaded mushrooms were incredible, I'd recommend those. The CB sauce, which tastes like RR campfire sauce, was difficult for the bartender to describe for some reason. The burgers were mediocre, so I'm not sure why you guys are known for them. All in all a subpar place & Not a memorable experience.

So I'm a little hesitant to write this review, but ultimately want to go ahead so that hopefully our takeout dining experience next time is better. My fiancé and I live super close to this restaurant and eat here either in-person or get takeout at least once every 2 weeks. We SWEAR by this restaurant and bring all our friends here when they come over or are in town. Our go-to on weekends is to get takeout from here, and unfortunately we recently had a really bad experience. My fiancé always gets either a burger or chicken tenders. Two weekends ago he got tenders and tater tots for takeout, which costs $18 when you order online, and what he got is pictured. There has never ever been this much open space on the takeout dish and we were just really disappointed. The sauces he asked for weren't given, the tenders were small and dry, and barely any tater tots given at all. For this to be our favorite local spot, which we rave about it's consistency, this was a big disappointment and we have been super hesitant to order takeout from or go in person since because we don't want to waste our money. $18 for what we received is pitiful, and unfortunately even the chicken tender that looks picked off of was completely untouched by us- meaning this is how it was served.

Decent place for lunch and a beer. I've tried multiple things off the menu and they're good. Not great, but good. The pasta I just got is overcooked. Almost mushy. Also suspect they didn't salt the water to boil the pasta. Another visit. Hayseed chicken entree. Chicken is overcooked - or had freezer burn. Tough to cut and lacks flavor. Shaved Brussels with bacon needs salt but otherwise good. Broccoli is good, as usual (but not as fresh as you it could be).

Delicious food, awesome staff & great drinks! Nice place to watch a good sports game. Only issue is their take out service. Wish they would create a designated carry out space (preferably outdoors), so folks at the bar won't be exposed to dogs & their owners carrying DOG POOP inside!

Went to CharBar today for the first time and loved it! Southwest salad was yummy and the service was great. Definitely will be back!

10/10 food and even better service. Shrimp tacos amazing. They have completely changed the restaurant and upgraded it throughout. Plethora of good options and outdoor seating is heavenly.

We have not been to Char Bar in awhile due to life circumstances, but we used to regularly go there on Monday nights. Laura is very good and makes a great drink based on our needs, but tonight, the food was suboptimal. The new Chicken dip appetizer has way too many cracker crumbs on top of it and was not good. On many occasions, we have had the chicken nachos and we have specifically gone there to have them. They were far less than what they have been in the past. They were not hot, had limited toppings, and just did not taste great. Nothing was piping hot and everything came out quickly. The food quality has gone downhill and we will not be back for sometime. We do hate this as the restaurant is close to us and we left huingry tonight.

Char Bar is a wonderful family owned local chain with a few locations around the Charlotte Metro. Primarily you'll find them in suburban areas giving each place a local watering hole vibe. This location here on Carmel is my favorite. They have an abundance of TVs set up so it is a great place to watch the game. Their menu is a bit more elevated than your typical bar food, but in my opinion their mvps are their burgers and wings. Their wings are reasonably priced and have several options for flavor. My favorites were the dry rub and the hot. You can also choose to have them charred if you like your wings blackened. Just be warned that having them blackened definitely changes the flavor. I also have to highlight their Das Pretzels. It comes with three smaller pretzels as opposed to one large one. They are soft and delicious, perfectly salted and served with queso and beer mustard. Makes for an amazing game day snack. Aside from this they also have reasonably priced beers that they serve in icy cold mugs. Overall if you have one of these nearby your neighborhood I would highly recommend giving them a shot for a casual night out.

Awesome food. Service, ambiance. TVs all over. Closes later so even if you come in at 10 pm they aren't trying to run you out.

Best fries in town and I liked my salad but it is loud!!! The service was good. The next time I will eat on the patio because I will go back. I keep thinking about those fries

We really love the new location on Carmel Road! Liz is the best and always ready with our drinks before we sit down. Food is great and atmosphere is lively and fun.

So happy when this replaced McAllisters Deli. LOVE their steak salad. You might wanna go on a weekday since wknds get hectic with the bar crowd and we were there two hours just for dinner but still worth it

Love their "create your own salad" however they are very skimpy with their salad extras. you can't find the avocado, corn etc. They need to go to Bad Daddy's to see the correct portions of salad extras. Ambience is nice, location great, service good.

Have been coming here for years since the old location and it has gotten so much better! A special thanks to Lexi for giving us great service on our last visit!

Had a wonderful time at Char bar yesterday with my friends!! Excellent food and service!! Served by Liz who is very good and very kind! One of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte? Salads are outstanding. Brussel sprout yesterday- delicious!!

It isn't that good and no longer worth going to despite the convenient location . Food is consistently meh; I don't know where they source their meat but the steak and prime rib French dip have chewy pieces every time. This last time, my daughter had to spit hers out it was so bad, and my husband was unable to finish is $22 French dip sandwich. There are a few options that aren't bad, but really aren't that good either. Service is inconsistent; our last (and final) experience included forgetting orders (food and drinks), bringing out adult meals before kid meals with a 10 min lag in between (if you go out to eat with kids, you know how bad this is), and never checking back in to make sure everything is right, good, and refilling our drinks. Ambiance was good; loud enough that made it kid friendly, tvs for distraction, nice outdoor patio. Overall we won't be returning because the food and service is so poor.

Love our server Liz, she is great every time. And their build your own salads. So convenient and clean. They change their drinks a lot which can be disappointing. Also, they sell Kraft Mac n cheese which is odd considering the price $$$?

Had a team lunch on Wednesday 7/17 and Amir took great care of us. Attentive, helpful with menu and any special requests. Good variety on menu, great food and great service!

Had lunch at CharBar on Carmel Rd. today. Food was great, drinks were great, service from Liz was excellent! We will be back.

Visited to catch an NFL game and have to say burgers were great, beers cold and there was a special, TVs all over and plenty of space to watch. Brennan was my server and she was attentive and polite. I am definitely coming back.

I tried the blackened salmon and vegetables which I really enjoyed. The salmon was seasoned and cooked just right.

Our server Liz was awesome! Great service with a smile. Burgers were delicious too :-)

What an incredible new spot for an amazing restaurant. I ate many times at char Bar 7 in their former Charlotte location and always felt that the food was such high quality but the spot felt old. Since they've moved to this new spot- the ambiance, atmosphere and style fits the exceptional food experience. The best part- it's delicious food, great service, beautiful atmosphere- all without any pretentiousness. I went with a girlfriend and our children after soccer, gymnastics and our usual Saturday chaos. When we arrived, we wanted to sit outside but the patio only accommodated groups of 2 per table. The hostesses didn't dismiss our expectations of an outdoor lunch. They contacted the manager and created a kid table for 4 and then an "adult table" for myself, my husband and my friend. The day got even better when we met the BEST server we have ever had, Chene (pronounced "Shane"). If you do eat here and he is working-request him. You WONT be dissapointed! He is incredibly personable, and all 4 kids became instant fans of their new friend. He was attentive, friendly and super on top of his game. If that guy isn't running his own restaurant (or business, enterprise etc...) in the next few years I would be shocked. He's a true gem in any business! We ended the awesome experience with a visit from the regional manager Greg. He checked in on our experience (which I love) and then gave us a really cool overview of the history of char Bar 7, as well as how incredible, kind and down to earth the ownership team is. Overall, we had a really incredible experience at this location and will 100% be repeat customers. Extra points for a create your own salad section. Can't wait to create my next one!

I have just had the most traumatizing and awful experience at this establishment. In my 30 years of life. What I was subjected to tonight was the most insane treatment by a restaurant staff I have ever experienced. First, I have been a paying customer at this restaurant prior. I even ordered my lunch from here earlier the same day. I ordered charbar after getting home from picking my son up from daycare. placed the order online through their website. It said they had a delivery option so I selected delivery. It told me expected delivery time was 7:36. I waited until 7:48 and called the restaurant to see if they had an eta.. The girl, and I say girl because she was clearly young, picked up and was not professional at all, I asked her if she had an eta on the order to which she responded huh? like its supposed to be at your house? and Im like yes I placed an order online, to which she says "we do not deliver you have to come pick it up.." obviously I am beyond confused as I paid a delivery fee and have waited now an hour. So I say how long has it been ready? to which she answers its been sitting up there for 25 min. I asked why did no one call me then? and she just says yeah idk but you can come pick it up. I said fine, I want to speak to a manager when I get there. So I put my 3 year old in the car and drive there. I arrive at the restaurant and my order is not there and everyone around acts like they have no idea what I'm talking about until the girl I spoke to on the phone finally comes forward and states yeah no we don't deliver. The restaurant doesn't deliver, like its through a third party. and Im looking like.....so....you deliver...through a third party...I ask to speak to the manager who is casually strolling through speaking to tables, laughing carrying on while I stand there holding my toddler. Then another young kid comes up to me and states " we aren't like blowing you off she's just talking to tables" and i'm like right but I am standing here holding my son and he is starving... so finally she comes over and starts explaining how this is new to them, not apologetic at all, and tells me its through uber and the uber driver should be otw. I check my phone and finally get a text from their chow "something" app and says my driver will arrive soon. First notification I had received about a driver at 8:02. Mind you it was to be delivered at 7:36. So she says well what would you like for me to do, and I asked her to refund the order and stated I would drive back home and get the food. Well I drive back home and guess what food ISNT THERE. So I call back and explain who I am and I am told oh yeah the driver just walked back in and said he turned around because when we refunded your order it cancelled it and he wasnt going to get his tip. At this point my mind is literally blown at these people. I said okay I will turn around AGAIN and come back and get it but start explaining how they should report that behavior of the driver to the service they are paying for this delivery service. I stated going forward that while I empathize that this is new for them that that is not the customers issue and they should have hammered this out before rolling it out and asked if they would walk it out to my car if I pull up so I don't have to unbuckle my son again. she said yes that's no problem we will run it out and I said okay I will call when I arrive. I drive back. I pull up and they stare through the window. At this point its now 8:30-8:40, I call and the manager says hey this is the manager, (her name is Josie btw) "you know none of this is our fault, its certainly not my 16 year old hostess fault, not my fault and not the uber drivers fault, and when you called back up here she said you had some choice words. At this point im like WHAT?? she's like yeah you said we need to get our sh*t together. I said no I never said that and say can I just get my food. She says no we arent bringing it out to you. They actually refuse to bring me my food after I have driven there and back FOUR TIMES due to their ignorance. After they told me they would bring it out!!! After everything I have went through. Also can't even email the Charlotte area manager because its an undeliverable email. I have never in my life experienced something so insane at a restaurant and these people should be ashamed of themselves. and Josie should not be managing ANY place of business. I will be posting about this on instagram ,Facebook, and tiktok, google, and escalating as far as I can because I truly cannot even begin to explain how livid I am. NEVER been treated so poorly. To withhold a hungry child's food because you're honestly unprofessional ignorant and incompetent is disgusting behavior and to make up lies that I cursed at staff when I did NOT ? Why would I even want you to give me food for my child if I had cursed at you?? Hope that kids Mac n cheese and lemonade was worth exposing how you treat paying customers and children.

We had frequented this place for to-go orders, so I was pleased with the food, but my husband had a terrible experience where he was treated poorly, so we won't be going back. He stopped by one afternoon during the President's Cup weekend hoping to order something for me and to have a drink at the bar while he waited. The bar had available seats, but the manager stopped my husband at the door and said that there was a $45 entry fee. My hubby was confused and asked why, but received no explanation. He then asked a gentleman sitting at the bar who he had seen before if they paid an entry fee and he said no. I'll leave others to draw their own conclusions, but we won't order from this place anymore.

Not sure why my review was removed but I posted a few weeks back that we can no longer stand coming here because of the strange music. Please consider a different playlist. Food and service are always great and it's walkable to our house but that music. Yeesh.

I selected maybe because the food was outstanding the atmosphere was awesome however, our service sucked! Our waitress was slow. We had to ask another one to check on our food, and when she brought the food, she sat in front of us and walked away not asking if we needed anything or if we were good in customer service myself, I would totally have failed your restaurant because of your customer service, if you can work on that it will be an amazing place. I would come back again for the food, the atmosphere and the bartender as my server other than that get a new staff.

So glad to see Char bar reopen! It was packed Saturday night! Great neighborhood spot. The managers, servers, hosts were all super friendly. The environment had so much great energy and the food was really great too. Everything came out piping hot and quick - the way it should be. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals - mostly burgers but all amazing! We had the nachos, sweet potato tots and, fried mushrooms as apps. Can't wait to go back and try more food. All reasonably priced. That shrimp taco was looking delicious ! They don't have a liquor license yet so we just hopped into Harris teeter for wine. I'm sure they'll get it soon.

$7.00 for this? Very disappointing but suspect they are having staff problems. Sure tired of saying that!

Wow -- high hopes for this place but what a disappointment, in every way. Food -- I got the Fish & Chips ($19)...there's about the same amount of fish as you get at a McDonald's and the chips are sliced potatoes that seemed to have been steamed. And of course, even though I arrived 10 minutes early, both were ice cold. Patrons -- a bunch of children were walking up to the door as I arrived spewing curse words as they were seeking out their friend, the hostess...who jubilantly pushed open the doors and brushed me aside. And the help -- the gal at the front was apologetic enough over the ruckus but brushed it off because "that hostess is c-a-raaaazzzy"...and of course there's that. As the saying goes...what we permit, we promote...so I won't be back.

The atmosphere is loud with conversation, and very inviting. The fried mushrooms were crispy and fresh. The fried black bean burger here was well prepared and served with a great sun-dried tomato aïoli. I enjoyed my dinner
