"The heavily spiced chapli kebab burger, crackled with pomegranate seeds and slathered in “inferno” sauce, may be one of the best burgers in the city, but the sizeable menu spotlighting Indo-Pak specialties is also worth exploring. Watch for special hours during Ramadan." - Faiyaz Kara

Google
The food was excellent! The beef ribs were absolutely amazing — highly recommended. After experiencing a lot of disappointing meals in Orlando, I’m thrilled to have finally found a fantastic place to eat. Looking forward to coming back next time we visit Orlando.

Google
I have eaten here several times. The food is always great, and the staff very friendly. I love their burgers and wings. The Inferno Burger has a delectable sauce but it definitely has a bite to it so be careful with that if you can’t handle spice.

Keisha Townes

Google
Every dish, from appetizers to dessert, was fresh, visually appealing, and full of flavors!!! The portion sizes are plentiful and the wide menu variety offers something for everyone, the expert and the novice!! The staff is knowledgeable and able to answer questions regarding menu ingredients, products, and make recommendations based on stated preferences. Charcoal Zyka has definitely become a favorite!!!

Zamin Shaikh

Google
The new owners have revamped the restaurant with a nicer atmosphere and made sure their most popular items such as the Portuguese chicken and the Beef short rib are always available. By far the best food I’ve had in Orlando this Ramadan! 10/10 perfect meal

Jamie San Diego

Google
Charcoal Tyka was AMAZING! It’s a little hole in the wall place but a must try! The food was amazing and the service was so good! We will definitely be back

Aamina Tauseef

Google
Charcoal Zyka has a great diverse menu! Butter Chicken: the gravy was flavourful and enjoyable, but the chicken itself didn’t quite meet our expectations. Inferno Burger: A house special that stands out! I’d recommend it for anyone who loves a good spicy burger. Beef Brisket sandwich: Tasty and filling, but the BBQ flavour was too intense for our liking. Overall the meal was satisfying, especially if you’re in Orlando and looking for halal options.

Google
First time trying this restaurant and it was pretty good. We had the beef short ribs, biryani, deluxe burger and ribeye steak. Everything was hot fresh and seasoned well. The customer service was superb Rahman was very nice and made sure we had everything we need with no wait. The best part was it was halal. A must try if you’re in the mood for a great variety of dishes.

Google
Food was delicious. Didn’t feel like cooking today so took the family out and have to say the customer service was exceptional. Tahmid who took our order was excellent. He made sure we got our food on time and made sure it was to our liking. The Portuguese chicken and Inferno burger was delicious. Definitely recommend taking your family to this place.

Yelp
Found this place on our at back to Miami. Given the reviews, we came in to check it out. Now, the inside is average looking, tables and chairs but it doesn't matter because the service and food was great. We were attended to immediately, placed our order and quickly got our food. Tried the butter chicken, tandoori chicken and kebabs & naan. Everything was flavourful and plenty of food for the three of us. The mango & regular lassi was also great. I saw in another review that bathrooms weee dirty. That wasn't the case when we attended. Overall, it was a great quick meal.

Galib K.

Yelp
This family owned restaurant is very welcoming and the servers always make me feel like I'm family. Sometimes I am stuck between Indian food or American food, So generally I order the lamb Biryani or the Inferno Burger but I have never been disappointed with anything on the menu. Halal food like this is hard to find in the area, and I've never had such a delicious burger that gives Houston a run for its money.

Munib L.

Yelp
We dined in on a Monday early evening when it was not so busy. The staff was nice in welcoming us and took our order. The food also came in on time but I am sorry to say it has got to be the worst food I had in Orlando. The steak was hard as a rock versus all the reviews that says it's melting soft. The chicken tikka Biryani was bad too the chicken was raw cooked. We also had a cup of chai (tea) which was just terrible. I had no option left other than complaining about the quality of food. The guy was nice and offered us to choose something else from the menu and took away the previous order. Since we were traveling we had to have something to eat so we decided to order a chaat, a chicken Karhai and some naan. This time the chaat was terrible but naan and karhai was good. I am surprise now all these reviews rate this place best in town unless the chef was having a bad day when I came in. Only giving them a two star because of the excellent customer service to remediate the mess and clean atmosphere and quick service Food wise i would rate them 0 If you are in town you are better off dining else where

Yelp
No nonsense, clean, family run restaurant in a strip plaza. Hard working and friendly staff. A very wide range of cuisine: Indian food plus steak sandwiches, BBQ brisket, jerk chicken, gyros! Quite an array, and it is all very very good. High quality, everything tasted great. Even the French fries. The garlic naan was excellent. Good for takeout but plenty of seating is available. Plenty of parking. Good prices and portions. Not a cheap place but certainly reasonable prices, especially for the quality. Sandwiches, biryani, salads, wraps. Hard to believe they can make all these things and do it so well. But they do. Definitely will come back when I'm in the neighborhood.

Anthony D.

Yelp
Not hard to access from S John young parkway. I wanted an Indian restaurant close to where I was getting my car serviced at Coggin Honda 1.3 miles away. The samosa chaat isn't meant to fill you up and staved off my "hangryness" until my tandoori chicken came out. My lunch partner ordered shrimp biryani with medium spice. If you don't do spice then I advise to get mild or not spicy. Medium was an exciting experience for me. The tandoori chicken hit the spot and the pieces are decent sized. Free WiFi kept the kids entertained without using my cellular data.

Shariq I.

Yelp
It says they open at 11am. We arrived here at 12:30pm doors were locked and we waited outside for 20 mins. Called multiple times and no answer. Would not recommend. Poor service.

Lovers L.

Yelp
Food was okay. Definitely Not the best Indian food. I ordered the naan it was different from other Indian restaurants I've been to. The Rice was dry with seed Spices mixed in rice. I was expecting gravy with the beef. The sever was trying to be accommodating.. the lamb was not available. So I got the beef instead . The Beef was tender and flavorful . Not impressed should've kept driving.

Ryan F.

Yelp
The tiki masala with some garlic naan was wonderful. Services was very friendly. Space is a little plain but the food isn't.

Erin G.

Yelp
I stopped by for Orlando burger week and fell in love with their chicken sandwich. They were offering a special and I had not been here in a few years. They offer a variety of American and Indian food. The chicken sandwich is marinated and then grilled to order. I could smell them cooking it. It is on a plump bun with lettuce, onion and tomato. My server recommended the addition of cheese and it was spot on. My husband liked the chicken sandwich so much he asked me to swing by and pick up a couple more. The fries are fresh hot and cooked just right. We want to try the ribeye next time. Pros: Great service- Second visit the server remembered I like mayonnaise! He was prompt and friendly. I did not have to ask for anything. Good food at fair prices - I went one day at lunch and they had a fair amount of customers. Socially distanced of course. They have tables outside Observing Covid precautions. This important to me so I felt safe getting food here. There are not really any cons but it is not the fanciest place in town. The decor was simple but very clean. They offer bottled sodas and drinks available in a cooler. We are going to be regulars at Charcoal Zyka

Aamir S.

Yelp
Great location, easy to get to with amply parking. Service was 5 stars. Excellent. Food itself was also very good. Had the garlic naan and chicken Tikka Masala. Highly recommend!!!

Maria K.

Yelp
This was an okay spot with halal food. We tried the Buffalo Chicken Wrap (decent flavor) and Jerk Chicken Wrap (very bad, tasted like it had just been seasoned with salt and pepper). Mango lassi was good. Good service, but their air conditioner was not working at all and it was ~85° inside. Not a bad spot to grab lunch, but there are better Indian spots in Orlando.

Avi B.

Yelp
Great place for a quick Indian bite. Convenient as well for anyone staying at the hotel nearby. Would love it if they got a bit warmer with the ambience

Ryan A.

Yelp
Basic Indian food. Naan is light on garlic and butter, portions not really generous. Had tikka masala (lots of oil) and jalfrezi (light on peppers). Not much protein and what there was was kind of fatty.

Nasif H.

Yelp
This place is a staple for families who eat halal/zabiha in south Orlando. Sometimes we frequent a place so often that we forget to look them up on websites because we know the location by heart and we could give a damn about what the reviews say. I get the Portuguese chicken delivered to my mom's house for almost every holiday I'm unable to attend. Whether you eat halal or not, you're gonna enjoy everything this place has from the inferno burger to the goat biryani. You'd be hard pressed to find better quality meat for the price you're paying at Zyka. Oh yeah, on a good day when the beef ribs aren't sold out, do yourself a favor and get a slab.

Kam S.

Yelp
Love their peri peri chicken and jalapeños burgers. Restaurant is clean and good service. Would highly recommend this place.

Heather F.

Yelp
We came here the night before our flight out of MCO. This is a local family owned restaurant with Indian food. It wasn't busy this night with sit in customers but they had a lot of takeout orders. They greeted us immediately when we walked in. They offered us menus and I noticed this was slightly different than other Indian restaurants I have been to. They have the option to build your own curry and I thought that was cool. Although I did not choose that option, I like that they offer it. I went with my usual chicken tikka masala. You know when your hungry and your not in the mood to switch it up? That was me! The chicken tikka masala tasted exactly as expected. The only thing is, I wish I would have gotten it spicier. Some restaurants make their sauces milder to accommodate Americans, so mild in one place is hotter than others. I got mild since I was not sure. I could have handled medium! We got garlic naan as well. It was crispy but not too hard. Very flavorful dishes and great service.

Doug D.

Yelp
Yum!!! This place was a nice surprise. Not a fancy facility whatsoever but whatever it lacked in Decour it made up for in high-quality food. The garlic Naan was quite simply the best I've ever had. Light and fluffy and expertly flavored. Somosa Chaat was amazing. The Vegetable Samosa was quartered and topped with chickpeas and a delicious broth. Aloo Gobi was a little heavy on the oil but had excellent flavor and texture. And finally the tandoori chicken came out on a sizzling hot plate perfectly prepared.

Asfandyar A.

Yelp
The food is great and staff is nice. This place is probably the only desi spot out here that I liked. Tandoori chicken is flavorful. I also ordered the jerk chicken wrap and the Inferno Burger both of which were great! I wasn't too big on the chicken tikka masala but that's just my opinion you can try it for yourself. Garlic naan was great too.

Josh T.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Service was amazing. Ambiance was also very good. Waiter took the time to explain what all of the items are on the menus. I didn't have anything I didn't like

Shakira N.

Yelp
This place has the best vegetable samosas and dipping sauces that go with it. They're crispy and delicious with a little spice for a kick. I used to get them all the time when I worked nearby and now I drive 40 minutes when I have a crave :)

Pervez Z.

Yelp
Best Ribeye steak I ever had. This is a hidden Gem. We stopped by to try some Indian food but their American food selection was even better. I fell in love with nice juicy BBQ Ribeye. Other Items were right on point as well. We have received very quick and pleasant service. If you are in Orlando, this is a must go place.

M R.

Yelp
Low key establishment serving very authentic Indian, Portuguese, and even American staples too. Employees are friendly with accommodating attitudes. We used to pick up food from here all the time when we lived in the area. Wish there was something in our new area that was this authentic!

Rajh C.

Yelp
I was a little hesitant when I saw the menu American on one side and Indian on the other . But I am so glad I gave it a whirl ! The furniture itself was a little worn but really who cares I am Not going to eat the furniture ..the place was clean and the young man who took our order was just so delightful. We ordered dhal Tadka , tandoori chicken saag paneer and naan .. The wait was about 20 mins .. but everything came out fresh ,perfectly spiced , hot and yummy. So if you are heading out from a lovely stay at the Marriott or Ritz .. give it a try .. I am going to give this 5 star because the food was brought to us with a smile and was very well prepared

Ann J.

Yelp
We tried Zyka recent trip to Orlando. Tried their chicken Tandoori, curry, biryani and inferno burger. Food was fresh, delicious and served hot. Highly recommended!

Asma A.

Yelp
We ordered half Portuguese chicken with spicy rice. It was ok tasting, soft tender meat, well cooked through. We also ordered tandoori chicken and samosa chaat. It was ok tasting, it's easy on spices and soft meat. The samosa chaat was ok, the samosa was cold from center, it's shall was hard, served with really watered down green chutney. However, it didn't have the taste to get excited and return back to the restaurant.

OJ K.

Yelp
Very nice staff who were working overtime to help large groups. Restaurant has weird seating arrangement. I ordered butter chicken, which was decent but different than any I had before. The sauce definitely wasn't that tangy usual although it was good/okay, just not what I am used to. Also the chicken wasn't in chunks but thin strips, making it hard to find in the sauce.

Shakeela K.

Yelp
The naan were great but the curry was horrible Over priced. Not worth it. The tea was old I had to ask for chutney

Rabia J.

Yelp
I gave this place a try again and i was not at all disappointed!! Great improvement food was fresh and delicious!!

Refik N.

Yelp
Food was really awesome- i'd go there again a d again. Desi tea was kadak and good too. The only reason i am giving them 4* because of the waiting time and the management. I waited there and found out that two other guys took my place- that sucked. . .

Amalie M.

Yelp
Had lunch here yesterday Day driving up you would think it's a hole in the wall but it's actually very nice inside. I believe they only had one person working so there were dishes on some of the tables that needed to be cleaned up but once we were seated the foods was amazing. I had chicken and it had all the right spices the garlic naan was exceptionally soft and good. Their prices were very good.

Dave W.

Yelp
What an awesome and unique place to get very flavorful halal food or Indian cuisine. It's spotlessly clean and the service was very accomodating. We were there on a Saturday night and it seemed everyone brought their entire family. There were multiple large groups. So, bring the whole family with you! Why not? The entire clientele appeared to be Muslim or Indian based in the garments worn but that's fine with us. Nobody minded our caucasian and oriental selves and they kindly served up some extremely tasty food. I will say that some of the items do not have a mild-spice-setting so prepare to get your spice on! The funny thing, to me anyway, was that I saw the kids in most of the families eating hamburgers while their parents dined on more traditional meals. The dichotomy of immigrants going here to reconnect with tastes of their homeland while their kids snarfed down burgers was so much the american melting pot experience. Prepare to be assimilated!

Hina M.

Yelp
This has to be my favorite halal restaurant in Orlando. Every time I go to Orlando, I have at least one meal at charcoal zyka every day. They have Indian food as well as a whole menu of American food. My personal favorites are the crispy buffalo chicken wrap and the inferno burger! I haven't yet tried their Indian food because their American food Is just so good. For those who only eat halal and never get to eat yummy burgers elsewhere, this is the place to go to!!!

Hans D.

Yelp
If you're around the Orange County or Seaworld neighbourhood for a conference, stop here for lunch! Looks like a hole-in-the-wall and feels like it but the food was awesome and service was very friendly. Samosa Chaat Butter Chicken Goat Vindaloo Fresh naan 2 diet cokes = $30 I got a healthy appetite. Most people will never finish this much but they'll be happy to provide you with a doggybag. Did I mention it's also take-out?

Mercedes Y.

Yelp
One of the best places for Indian cuisine. Great for my lunch break too!! Always fast and friendly service!

Aeman J.

Yelp
Nice family dinner place was not very crowded and service was good. Place looked average i tried fried crispy chicken sandwich and chicken tika sandwich they were not too bad but chicken was dry. Wish they had some nice sauce with tikka sandwich burger.

Manuel P.

Yelp
WOW!!! The short rib was literally falling off the bone. Huge portion, worth the price $18+. The Portuguese chicken was fresh as well as the wings. I also got the biryani, very spicy but tasty. Good pricing on everything. Will be back again.

Mercedes E.

Yelp
Omg, this place is a MUST HAVE. Affordable, delicious and with great service, too! We tried some of the Indian menu items (butter chicken + goat vindaloo + vegetable samosas + garlic naan) and it was all delicious! Not easy to find a yummy, yet affordable Indian meal. However, we ate like royalty for under $40 (with tip included)! Can't wait to come back and try some of the American menu items, I don't doubt that they'll be just as delectable.

Tania Q.

Yelp
Very clean place, seating is well organized. We ordered Portuguese chicken, short rib, and inferno burger - All three items were amazing. The chicken is very similar to nandos and perri perri. The burger was juicy, and soft. The short rib just melted in our mouth. This is a must stop if you're in the area. Very quick service, gentlemen greeted us with a menu, explained the options. We even ordered food to take with us back to Miami. They packed it very well. I will make sure I stop by every time I'm in the area.

Huda A.

Yelp
Charcoal Zyka is one of our Orlando halal favorites. In a convenient location with lots of parking, it offers both western and eastern dishes. There's something for everyone. I'm a huge fan of the Portuguese chicken, short rib, Buffalo chicken wrap, and fresh naan. Everything is made fresh and tastes great. Must try!

Kiana G.

Yelp
10/10 every time. I'm usually reluctant to eating Indian food anywhere outside of my Indian household but Charcoal Zyka can have my business any time, as they supersede my standards tremendously! Be back soon.

Sanaa R.

Yelp
South Asian and American mix! Great Idea - Amazing Food! Im a huge fan of their biryani - and you also have options to make it mild - very spicy Their food is always fresh the meat is tender and filled with flavor

Food L.

Yelp
Bad experience. Came in for Carry-out and the food took over 40 minutes. We ordered two simple Chicken wraps. A Family of 6 came in after I placed my order and they ended up getting their food before I did!?!? Slow, Very slow service! The food was good though but not enjoyable when you have to wait such a long time for something so simple to make. Don't think I am going back. There are many more Indian restaurants in Orlando with fast service and delicious food.

Christoph G.

Yelp
Restaurant isn't fancy but the food is really good, can recommend to anyone liking Indian cuisine.

Amin A.

Yelp
Straight up, good food. We ordered the 1/2 Portuguese Chicken and Goat Biryani. Honestly, the portions were so large that we could have probably shared. The biryani was a delight. I eat biryani all the time, and I can verify that this place is special -- it was flavorful, spicy, and amazing. The chicken was also delicious. It was cooked perfectly, and they added a BBQ glaze with it. We ate it with 2 naans. 5 Star, highly recommend

Michelle P.

Yelp
I feel really sad. Sad that I haven't gone here sooner! It's in the small plaza before you turn off Young John and head towards the Freedom Middle and High Schools. The food was AMAZING (focusing on the Indian half of the menu, they do Portuguese grilled food as well). I was pretty tame with my food choices...it's been awhile since I've had curried anything and was resisting my infamous habit of ordering two days of meals in one go when I find an Indian restaurant. I had a mango lassi, garlic naan, appetizer samosas, and chicken tikka masala (they can make it spicy although if you want real spice I always lean on a vindaloo). Everything came out piping hot and in hearty portions. Service was great. I know we were really hungry when we got there so I'm grateful for their service for sure. Prices are very fair for the portions. Cannot confirm is the food is Halaal so please check but they do offer a good variety of paneer and vegetable centric dishes as well.

Mohamed N.

Yelp
Really delicious food. They have almost everything, all meat is halal. Vegetable Samosas were really delicious as well as the butter chicken

Tahirah B.

Yelp
Husband and I love coming here! It's a little treat to ourselves since it's quite a drive but the food is so good and fresh and tasty! My husband LOVES the ribs. Everything on the menu is quite delicious! My fave is the chicken tikka masala

David R.

Yelp
4 stars for an array of options, flavorful food, at a reasonable price. I stumbled on this place while browsing through Yelp. I noticed they had Indian food but they offered Portuguese BBQ chicken. Well I just happen to be Portuguese and figured let's give it a shot. My wife likes Indian food so we can kill 2 birds with one stone. We started with Samosas and they were phenomenal. I'll also mention the restaurant had just opened and we went in expecting to wait for our food. Unlike other restaurants I've been to, they were ready upon opening time. Not just turning on the grill. I got the Portuguese BBQ chicken and was thoroughly impressed. Is it the same flavor you get walking down the streets of Lisbon? No but it's pretty damn close. There are other "authentic" Portuguese restaurants in the area that offer this same dish, but you can clearly tell they don't use a charcoal grill. A key ingredient in making this chicken is the charcoal pit or grill. That's the authentic part. Charcoal Zyka lived up to its name and the chicken really did taste like it was properly grilled. The seasoning and the sauce are on point and this dish, for 10 bucks, gives you half a chicken and a side. Typically we eat this dish with French fries and rice. This isn't a place you go to for scenery, or entertainment, but the food does all the talking. Good work guys, I truly enjoyed my meal. And thanks Yelp for leading me there!

Jason G.

Yelp
Flew into Orlando this weekend for a quick visit, and desperately needed dinner at ~10pm after flying in from California. On the way to the hotel, my wife was searching yelp for something that was still open, on the way to the hotel, and had a chance to satisfy our current no-carbs diet. Chacoal Zyka seemed like it might fit the bill. First impression as we pulled into the lot - their sign says "Indian & American" food. Uh oh. My history of ethnic places that don't focus is not good at all. Then we see that on their windows, they advertise foods such as rib-eye steak, gyros, and jerk chicken. WTF? If it hadn't been late and we didn't feel stuck, I'd probably have driven away right then. So we braved it. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food here. The stews were rich and flavorful. The tandoori chicken was juicy and had a nice little kick. My kids enjoyed the onion naan. The main issue we had with the food was that it was significantly oily. Not that this is unauthentic, but pools of oil floating on top isn't ideal. Service was good, although the kitchen was a little slow. Overall, this was a good meal at a very fair price. I'd happily eat here again next time I'm in town.

Elisa R.

Yelp
This is why I LOVE Yelp! We found this little gem while searching through Yelp and figured we would try it. It was the perfect place for my husband and I, he loves his Portuguese chicken and I love Indian food (which he doesn't), so to be able to get both in one restaurant was a huge win win for us :) The place is located in a little strip mall and didn't have much going on with regards to the ambiance and decor of the place, but this is one of those places that you come for the food not the ambiance. The service was also really good and quite quick. We ordered the samosas to start off with and OMG, amazing! They served 2 huge samosas for $2.50 that had huge amounts of flavors inside a beautifully served flaky, crusty dough encasing. Highly recommend this as starters! I then ordered the shrimp korma and my husband of course got his Portuguese chicken. The Portuguese chicken was extremely tasty, they did a great job of char-coaling the meat and allowing it to have that smoky flavor with the combinations of great spices and hot sauce. The shrimp korma was pretty good and for $9.99 a good price. I ordered a mild, but next time would get the next level of spiciness, because I feel like it was lacking in the spice department, but I believe that is my fault for ordering it mild. I also got a mango lassi, which is a delicious refreshing Indian drink that is yogurt based. It is not that sweet but perfect when combating spicy food. I highly recommend this little hole in the wall and will definitely come back to try more items on their menu!! Oh and PS Yelp currently has an awesome deal where you pay $13 and get $20 worth of food. Great deal :)!!!!
