9 Marvelous Museums in California for the Curious Kid

"For 50 years the antics of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock, Lucy, and the rest of Charles M. Schulz’s iconic “Peanuts” gang delighted readers nationwide from their home in America’s funny pages. By the time the last strip was published on February 13, 2000 – a date that, incidentally, coincided with the artist’s death – Schulz and his creations had long since established themselves as a treasured piece of Americana. The idea to create a museum showcasing Schulz’s artwork was first proposed in the 1990s by Schulz’s wife, Jean, along with friends and admirers Mark Cohen and Edward Anderson. At the time Schulz was still illustrating daily “Peanuts” cartoons and showed little interest in the project, but his enthusiasm grew as plans for the museum began to take shape. The museum’s groundbreaking in June of 2000, not long after the Schulz’s passing, seemed a fitting tribute to the artist’s career and his lasting impact on multiple generations of fans. The museum, which opened in 2002, celebrates more than just the cast of “Peanuts”; it also explores the art of cartooning and the life and unique worldview of the creator himself. Though some exhibits include work by other artists – in 2011 the museum examined the influence of comic strips on the work of Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and 16 other noted artists – most focus on the strip, exploring objects, aesthetics, and themes in Schulz’s work. It’s an approach that allows fans to fully appreciate the evolution and scope of Schulz’s beloved cartoons, which tackled a wide array of social issues alongside its depiction of the day-to-day trials and tribulations of childhood. Permanent exhibitions include a recreation of Schulz’s studio, a tile mosaic composed of 3,588 “Peanuts” comic strips, a wall featuring some of Schulz’s early artwork, and a labyrinth in the shape of Snoopy’s head. In addition to its exhibits, the Charles M. Schulz Museum also offers a variety of classes and events to inspire and foster budding artists of all ages. The museum is located in California’s Sonoma County where Schulz lived and worked for nearly 40 years." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Immerse yourself in Peanuts lore where it was created. Rotating exhibitions and family programs keep it lively, and it’s regularly highlighted by Sonoma County Tourism and local press. Pair it with nearby campus stops for a full Schulz day.

This is a gorgeous museum, very well thought out and laid out for the maximum display of the history and passion of Charles Schulz. His creation of the Peanuts comic strip is such a great story and the museum tells it perfectly. There are some interactive exhibits, a lot of memorabilia, colorful displays and several videos running to tell his story. When going through the museum, there's an area with glass display cases and drawers underneath them that are all labeled, make sure you look in those, there's a ton of information and history. Upstairs is a studio for you to create your own comic strip, they have guest artists regularly, a giant gift shop full of Peanuts souvenirs and even a cute cafe. The tour is self guided and you can take as much time as you like. We're from the older generation so the Peanuts comic strip is super relevant for us and we ended up there a couple hours reading nearly everything! Upstairs in the gift shop is where the original museum is located and there's some fun history up there too.

If you are in Santa Rosa and would like to be nostalgic, please visit the Charles M. Schulz Museum. There was over 200 cartoons to read, sculptures to take selfies with, and lots to learn. They even had cartoon strips as tiles in the bathroom, which was quite creative. There were interactive areas, such as a photo “booth” where you can be Lucy the psychiatrist and spin the wheel. Once you have laughed, chuckled, and snickered as much as you want. Stop by the gift shop and grab a postcard, pen or pencil, a cup, books, and much more. Enjoy 💕 No food or drinks. There are stairs to the second floor. Children are more than welcome.

Google
A wonderful place to visit, explore and learn. The staff is friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. Kids of all ages are welcome and will thoroughly enjoy the exhibits and the beautiful surroundings. Especially rewarding for those who are fans of the work and humor of Charles Schulz and the characters he created.

Google
It's a nice little museum and I'd recommend it to any Peanuts lover! They have a small gift shop with unique gifts from the museum. FYI- you can get some of the stuff online but I believe you just pay shipping. The staff we interacted with was nice and helpful. The grounds are clean and well kept. On the second floor they have a room where you can trace peanuts and make comic strips or Snoopy's house. If you take your time you can spend 2-3 hours here. The price for admission is decent also at $12 for adults and $5 for youth. I do believe that I saw online that the prices are going up soon.

Google
A lovely experience for any peanuts, snoopy, or small museum lover! Showing just a few photos- this place was so charming. Lots of history, OG peanuts art and of course, photo opportunities! The museum staff are so lovely, and gifted me a bracelet. Would definitely come back again next time I'm in Cali!

08/02/25 This was our second time visiting the Charles M. Schulz Museum, and we loved it just as much as the first! There’s something really amazing about being surrounded by all the Peanuts art (regardless of it’s a copy or the original) and seeing the backstory on all Schulz’s characters. Overall, the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center is fun, relaxing, and full of little details that make you smile. We’re glad we visited a second time and would definitely visit again! 🐶 🐾

Google
This museum is amazing!!!!! So much to do, and see. Great in depth history of Charles m Schulz and peanuts. We spent 2 hours here and could've done another one but we were on a timeline. The food at the café is a great value and good tasting!! We had the hot dog, tacos, chicken pot pie, and pizza. Next time we come we will definitely do the ice skating. There's a small little gift shop when you enter the museum that has GREAT stuff, and a larger one next to the gift shop. Be advised they sell different items so if you see something you like, buy it because it probably won't be at the other one. Overall 10/10, wonderful museum.

Google
This was an unexpected highlight of our trip! I honestly didn’t know a ton about Peanuts and went because my college age daughter wanted to go. It is such a well put together and loving tribute to a man that Santa Rosa clearly loved. A big, modern building with bright, vibrant displays. Worth a visit on your way through, great way to spend a couple hours!

Yelp
Finally!! After years of following the museum online, I was able to visit during a trip to San Francisco. The Schulz museum was so nostalgic and inspiring. The exhibits and activities were very engaging for people of all ages. There is also an ice rink and cafe on the property. In addition to the exhibits- crafts, books in a variety of languages, and photo opportunities kept us busy for hours. The museum is a loving tribute to Schulz and the peanuts.

Yelp
I grew up reading Peanuts comics in the Sunday paper. It was always a weekend ritual while I ate my breakfast. I wanted to take all the kids from my youngest son to my nephews and niece to the Charles Schultz museum to share a great past time from our childhood. This would be my second time visiting the museum. We arrived on a Labor Day Monday. The museum is located in a nice area in downtown Santa Rosa. Parking is accessible in the large parking lot and street parking. As soon as you walk in there are picture ops in the front and in the lobby with Charlie Brown and Snoopy statues. The 2 story museum is polished, organized, and quite spacious filled with various exhibits of Peanuts memorabilia. The staff and volunteers are all friendly and welcoming. There is an activity room upstairs where kids can do arts and crafts which is a nice touch. There are plenty of amazing photos ops all over the museum from the infamous Lucy psychiatric booth to a large mural of Charlie Brown trying to kick the football made of thousands of old peanuts comic strips. Overall we enjoyed our experience at the Charles M Schultz Museum. During our visit it brought back great memories and nostalgia. Unfortunately the kids could not relate too much to the Peanuts memorabilia but they did have fun looking at the peanuts comics and interacting on the hands on activities. It was great to be back.

Yelp
Had so much fun taking my husband here for his birthday! It was so nostalgic exploring all of the exhibits, looking at all the comic strips, and visiting their ice skating rink. We loved seeing all the Snoopy and Peanuts memorabilia, and had a blast learning all the history behind it. So many photo ops around the entire museum and in the gift shop. The artwork was incredible. Such a fun, and educational activity for kids and adults alike!

Yelp
I've always been aware of Peanuts but have never been an avid reader, so I've learned a lot about the comics and Charles Schulz visiting several months ago and again this past weekend. This visit I was able to arrange the "A Day in the Life" tour with Ken as the tour guide for $40/person, that I was so bummed I couldn't do with my friend my first visit. This price bakes in the admission fee, so the net cost of the tour is $25 for adults. I was pretty disappointed and think the time would have been better spent self exploring. Ken seems like an absolutely wonderful person and likes talking about his time as an educator but was very repetitive and unaware of it - he detailed our agenda / route through the museum several times. He asked if anybody knew about something (as an engaging / surveying question) he had already talked about (other tour members would chime in and say he already discussed it). While it was heartwarming to see Peanuts fans volunteering in their retirement at the museum, this tour was $160 for four people - really supposed to be a highlight and trying everyone's patience. What has me writing in though is that he misstated a lot of facts that were on the exhibit. As an official museum and research center run by his family, I expect the official tour guides to provide accurate information or just admit when they don't know. For that matter, it seemed like he knew his script but didn't know much else (even what was on the exhibit literature). He said that Charles was deployed within two days of D Day but the exhibit said otherwise. Ken also mentioned that Charles did all the animation for Charlie Brown Christmas Special, which also was not true. Perhaps being diligent about sharing correct facts doesn't matter to kids and seniors on a field trip, but tour guides represent the organization and along with the various typos found throughout the exhibit (like the family tree has a person being born before their descendent because the year is wrong), I see this museum is a labor of love but lacks quality control. It is a much slower pace here with reservations for tours being required three weeks in advance - and they require a phone call to lock in the reservation even if you initiate the conversation over email. The person checking tickets is idly playing mobile games on his phone. There's lots of photo ops. I think a mini movie about Charles Schulz would be nice, rather than just an intro by his second wife about the museum's design. It's a small museum overall and not interactive. I'd recommend this place for Snoopy fans, but not really a must-do otherwise for out-of-town visitors.

Yelp
A must-visit for Peanuts fans! The museum is beautifully laid out with original comic strips, behind-the-scenes sketches, and fun exhibits that show how Schulz created his characters. There are interactive areas for kids, a little theater playing classic Peanuts specials, and lots of charming photo spots. Staff are friendly and the gift shop has unique memorabilia you won't find anywhere else. A really sweet, nostalgic stop whether you're a lifelong fan or just looking for something fun and different to do in Santa Rosa.

Yelp
This is a great place to stop and enjoy the arts. It is for both adults and kids so you can see the history of the cartoons how they started and know the origins. The price is worth it as well as you take your time and walk to see the various displays from when each character was introduced. Or the holiday theme and things like that.

Yelp
Charles Schulz was creator of the Peanuts and our favorite beagle Snoopy. He lived and worked in Santa Rosa, so this museum is dedicated to him and his work. It ended up being one of the highlights of my trip, it's as far from a tourist trap as you can get. It's easy to drive here with plenty of parking in the various areas, mostly covered by solar panels as well. The museum has a small gift shop with the ticket area, discounts for students are available. The museum is open to explore and has a replica of his office, exhibits about his life, plus tons of original artwork and how his comic spread throughout the world. There's an outdoor garden and adjacent learning center that hosts children summer camps. The center is much larger, with a cafe, ice skating rink (hockey and figure skating), and a giant store with more exhibits about merchandise from around the world. This is both an educational and fun place to visit, it's worth a few hours!

Yelp
Phenomenal! The exhibits are fantastic. Learning about the history of peanuts and exploring the CS displays was a real treat. The museum is interactive, engaging, and fun for all ages. It doesn't take long to wander through the two exhibits across the different buildings, but every stop is worth it.

Yelp
This was a super cool, somewhat spontaneous, stop during our trip to Santa Rosa, but we are glad we stopped in! The Charles Schulz Museum is full of wonderful Peanuts memorabilia and truly focuses on the great work on Mr. Schulz's life. While the children's museum next door offers more fun for young children, this was a great stop for our young boys to learn about some art, culture, and history. Any Peanuts fan should stop here and if you're on the fence, don't be! Just go and check it out, I doubt you'll regret a visit here. You can easily spend a few hours here and all ages will find something engaging! Enjoy!

Yelp
It was a drive to get here from the South Bay but it was worth it. My family and I are huge peanuts fans so we made our way to check out this museum. Entering was easy as we just had to pay for our ticket up front and keep our receipt to get in. The lady checking our tickets gave us a detailed summary of the layout and we got to it. After the long drive we took a bathroom break and I thought it was really cool the bathroom had cartoon strips around the bathroom stall. Added a lot of character to the space. We took our time to browse the museum and I did so much reading of almost everything in there. I learned a lot about the creator Charles Schulz which was really cool. The museum is small but it has a lot of character. We ended our day there watching how the Christmas episode was finally able to get aired as it celebrates its 60 anniversary this year. Stopped at the gift shop and made our way to check out the rest of surrounding areas. This was such a fun family activity and well worth the time and price of admission. If you have a library card you can get a kids ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket which I did for my kiddo. Great way to enjoy the museum.

Yelp
Three buildings and one childhood memory - Snoopy. Returns to the place where the creator first began, marking the start of a dream that grew and extended into an achievement. The affordable price clearly tells the story of Snoopy's rise. The clean, open space allows both children and adults to fully enjoy the joy of drawing. Next door, the ice rink offers a great skating spot for all ages. The Snoopy museum and gift shop are also must-visits, making this a perfect destination for family fun.

Yelp
As a longtime fan of the Peanuts comics and nostalgic holiday specials, this museum visit was such a wholesome and heartwarming experience! Admission was very affordable. My group arrived around 10 AM with no issues finding parking in the private lot. One of my favorites was the tile mural of Charlie Brown and Lucy, composed of thousands of Peanuts comic strips. I also enjoyed learning more about Charles Schulz's life and his creative journey. We spent about two hours roaming the museum and taking photos. We spent time relaxing in the creative room with some coloring and crafts, and even caught a special screening of Snoopy's Reunion in the museum's theater. There's a small gift shop with cute museum merchandise. Just a short walk down the street is the Warm Puppy Cafe and Snoopy's Gallery & Gift Shop--perfect spots to wrap up your visit!

Yelp
Being a Snoop-a-holic, this museum is one of my most favorite places in the world! If you like Peanuts or cartoons in general you will love the history, the kitsch and the fun vibe here! I also love all the artwork throughout the museum - not just the strips, but the cool murals and the statues. Kids AND adults alike will love it here! Tons of parking and the price is also very reasonable.

Yelp
WHEN: Sat @10am Came here at opening time so we were able to snag a spot in their parking lot. There's free street parking too if it's filled. Figure since it's the weekend it will get pretty busy. ADMISSION: $12 Adult (Age 19-61) $8 Senior (Age 62+) $5 Youth (Age 4-18 and College Students) $2 EBT Cardholders FREE Children 3 and under This museum is so lovely with lots to see. There's also a theater to watch episodes, both and new. They post a viewing schedule just outside. I was surprised at how small the gift shop is then I realize they sell merchandise only exclusive to the museum. Lots of nice goods to buy! The exhibit itself is 2 floors covering a few different exhibits. They do rotate out different items every 6 months to keep it interesting. The museum docents are very friendly and knowledgeable so ask them anything! They are so nice! The outside area is nice too and you get a nice view of the place and its lovely architectural structure. If you look up at the tree, you'll find Charlie Brown's kite. Some of the large sculptures may be on tour so it would appear missing. Spend a good hour and a half. After that, cross over to the Ice skating rink! It's a short and easy walk.

Yelp
We LOVED this museum! So glad we noticed it was nearby. Learned so much about Charles Schulz and the comic strip we loved. Great for families. Would visit again. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Cute piece of Americana history located in Santa Rosa. The Charles M Schulz museum is dedicated to preserving a lot of the Peanuts creator's original artwork, Charles M. Schulz. Museum goers can see where the artist's inspiration came from, the evolution of the popular comic characters, and a glimpse into the personal life of the famous creator. The museum opens at 11am and it was relatively easy to get through in an hour's time. There is a theater where short clips/videos are shown but if you would rather walk through and read books and original comic pieces, there is plenty to browse through. The grounds outside are well maintained. The small souvenir shop has quite a few cute items for sale. All proceeds from ticket and merch go back into the preserving the museum's history.

Yelp
If your kids love Peanuts and Snoopy this is a must go activity. We spent like 4 hours here. My son could have stayed in the "reading room" all day. An entire collection of all of his works to browse! It was neat to hear about the life of the author and be in his city. There is also a map online that will show you all of his characters around town. One of my kids loved tracing comics in the education room. The video and props for photos were well done. Facilities were thoughtful and staff were helpful. We got 2 free tickets through our library for the "discover and go" program. I'd come again just for my son to read all day!

Yelp
We arrived early right when they opened. On a Saturday..it was steady busy and some points very busy. But never felt over crowded or loud. It was our first time at the museum. Every staff member we talked with was very friendly and helpful. They know their stuff they tell you about different exhibits if you want. Or you can walk around every where just reading and looking at everything. Parking was right next to the museum. A few hours later we were hungry. We walked across the street to the Warm Puppy Cafe. It's in the same building as the ice ring. It's like a simple little restaurant with things on the menu like grilled cheese, hot dogs, garden burger, grilled chicken sandwich, tuna melt, pulled pork sandwich and clam chowder. Drinks; Hot chocolates and sodas. Pretty expensive for the offering. They have inside seating and out door seating. We noticed what time it was after we ate. We went back to the museum for the special event they had. Matthew Sandager was there. He was pretty Interesting. He did a meet and greet after. We looked around a little more. We realized we didn't go to the gift shop across the street. We did look through and bought a few things at the gift shop in side the museum. Maybe when we go back. We bought a membership for the year.

Yelp
This is definitely a place to visit when in the Sonoma Valley area... it's in the Santa Rosa community, not far from the STS airport. Admission is inexpensive at $15 per adult and the museum is actually pretty decent in size and has plenty volunteers there to help provide info and stories along the way. The exhibits are nice and the curation is very professional and perfectly set up. Everything will help tell a story about the life of Charles Schultz, as well the Peanuts characters. We enjoyed our visit!
google avatar

Denise N.

Yelp
If you are near Santa Rosa and grew up with Charlie Brown...this is a must visit! It's more for adults to indulge in...but learning more about how Charlie Brown evolved was pretty neat! Check out the ice rink, cafe and also the two gift shops. I hope the legacy of Charles Schulz continues forever. He was an awesome cartoonist.

Yelp
This was an interesting museum about Charles M Schulz - Charlie Brown & Snoopy are very popular in my household so it was neat to see the beginnings of the original comic strip to now what it is today. There were two floors full of displays of magnified comic strips, an interactive photo op, history of Charles M Schultz's life, a room to color pictures of the characters or trace characters on paper to take home, & lastly an auditorium to watch Charlie Brown cartoons. Children under 5 may not have the patience for the museum part, but the coloring room would be exciting for them.
google avatar

Kimberley H.

Yelp
I love all things Snoopy and have since I was a kid. I won't like the museum was very underwhelming. It requires a ton of reading. Not very many interactive things to view or see. I also wish the gift shop had more options. I'm glad I went. But honestly wouldn't recommend.
google avatar

Sujin J.

Yelp
The most fun and educational visit we had checking out this museum! Everybody knows Snoopy and Charlie Brown all over the world! So have I, I thought! Meticulous historians preserved any valuable pieces including the the scrap paper that Charles's secretary saved out of the trash can when Charles Schultz was throwing out!!! A little bit out of the way and you need a car from SF but we strongly recommend to make this excursion to make your SF trip much more fun and memorable!!! And Bonus-- The Russian River Brewery is close by so you can hit that up on your way home!

Yelp
Visiting the Snoopy Museum was an absolute dream come true! It felt like stepping into a time machine and being transported back to my childhood. Every corner of the museum was filled with nostalgia, bringing to life some of my favorite childhood memories. The exhibits were wonderfully curated, showcasing everything from iconic comic strips to special behind-the-scenes artwork. It was more than just a museum visit; it was a heartwarming experience that made me feel like a kid again, full of wonder and happiness. Do not forget to catch the short films at the auditorium. You are able to leave the museum, to catch a Film and then return back to the museum. If you love Snoopy as much as I do, this place is an absolute must-visit. It perfectly captures the essence of childhood magic, and I left with a heart full of warmth and gratitude for the timeless charm of Charles Schulz's creations.

Yelp
There's nothing in Santa Rosa, and this museum is the only reason we drove up here from Socal. If you are a huge fan of Charlie Brown and the gang then it is a must visit! I even considering to be a fan member for $50 (you'll get a pin for it) but then thought it won't be a good idea since I dont live close by. The entrance fee is $12. It is so worth it. I got a good amount of chuckles reading the comic strips. It has everything you want to know about Mr. Schulz. He is truly a talented man who was used by God When you're there, form forget to visit the bigger store across the street. Parking might be a bit hard. But keep on mind they also have parking at the back and at the gift store across the street.
google avatar

Joanna L.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday around 4pm. It was quite the drive from South Bay Area, but definitely so worth it! There's a large parking lot -- I'd recommend parking at the museum side first. The museum is two floors, as well as an outdoor exhibit area. Since we came relatively close to closing, there weren't too many people inside. The exhibits showed so many old Charlie Brown cartoons, as well as some history behind Charles Schulz and his creation of Snoopy. There were many interactive exhibits, like ones where you can put headphones on and watch Snoopy, photo booths with interchangeable floating cartoon texts, and arts and crafts with different Snoopy poses. The museum itself isn't huge, but the cuteness of the exhibits allowed us to stay in there a long time. There's a gift shop inside the museum, but also a larger one on the other side of the street, next to the ice rink. The ice rink has public skating (on certain days and times) and a cafe inside. Next to it was the larger gift shop, with more Snoopy merchandise. Definitely a must-try experience if you're a Snoopy fan! The experience was worth the far drive, and I will definitely take more friends when they visit.

Yelp
We try to come twice a year to see the new exhibits. I wish we lived closer as there are so many good exhibits. This month's exhibit was The Beagle Scouts. I had no idea that the scouts had names. It was a very eye opening exhibit. I don't recall most of the comic strips with the Beagle Scouts. I was very glad we went to see the exhibit. They also had an adorable photo opportunity in the back of the exhibit. It's a campfire with everyone sleeping on top of their tents. The fire comes apart so kids can play with it. Being October they showed The Great Pumpkin in the theater. They also showed a Beagle Scout film that was cute. People were laughing out loud during both movies. If as an adult you pay attending there are clips of adult humor in the movies that you won't grasp as a kid. In the back patio they had an exhibit of Linus sitting in a pumpkin patch with the 2nd largest pumpkin in the giant pumpkin contest. It was a great photo opportunity. If you love the peanuts you need to come to this museum. It's heaven. We're members and keep coming back. Most of the exhibits rotate. They also have a mini gift shop. They have more items for sale then they have on their online store. I was able to pick up a polo shirt for my dad. It ran me about $35. You get a 10% discount if you are members. They have lots of great gift items. Plushies, books, mugs, food containers, art supplies, post cards, bags, alarm clock, vase, mints, ect.

Yelp
Our first time here, we celebrated the NYE Noon Balloon drop! Such a cute museum, with two stories of things and exhibits to explore! So many photo opportunities, lots of kid friendly crafts, and it has a cute little shop in the lobby! Plenty of space, even an outdoor space that lead to other rooms! Bathrooms are clean, and the ice skating rink and cafe next door is even cuter! Can't wait to bring my daughter back here this year during another family friendly event!

Yelp
Cute little museum if you are a Peanuts fan. Only worth it if you are nearby and nit driving a few hours out of your way here.

Yelp
I did not know about this place. I was staying in Ukiah, Santa Rosa is only an hour away, so I decided to drive down and see the ice rink. What a pleasant surprise to find this museum as well. The price was only 12 bucks to get in, and they also offer a military/veterans/senior discount. The senior discount brought it down to only eight bucks. Extremely reasonable. Everybody was so friendly and knowledgeable.. There were lots of exhibits and comic strips that covered peanuts over the years. It covered peanuts, Mr. Schulz himself, and where he got some of his inspirations, the different characters, including minor characters, and characters that were only part of one storyline, merchandising, the peanuts comic strip compilation books, (I had several ...) and international peanuts. A funny story, a newspaper in Russia was running peanuts without permission. Mr. Schulz's take on it was basically, if being stolen is the only way I can get into Russia, so be it. Yes, he finally did get into Russia with permission. From everything I saw, the man was extremely down to earth. I liked the video, there were interactive exhibits for both the adults, and the kids, and there was also a very nice recreation of his studio. I learned a lot while I was there. I want to come back, because I'm sure that the exhibits rotate. Thank you for a wonderful time that I didn't expect to have.

Yelp
Cute local museum with many snoopy photo ops. It was to nice to learn about the history of snoopy, where Charles Schulz drew his comics and how he became famous. On the second floor you can make a zoetrope or follow along a sketching session. It is $12 per person, you have to get tickets in person. There is an ice rink and gift shop across the street, both snoopy themed as well!

Yelp
I won't share more photos to keep the element of surprise. But I absolutely loved this museum. As a crazy Snoopy fan, I was so excited we are staying close by and able to make the trip to it. It's a great layout, has a few fun activities for both kids and adults. The videos, descriptions, and items were are all so great. Staff is absolutely so friendly! This was so great to see, I was in pure joy. Pricing is fair, I didn't think twice as I bought our tickets. It's overall a smaller museum but we spent about an hour and a half in there! I highly recommend!

Yelp
As a Snoopy lover, this place is a must visit. I loved seeing people of all ages enjoying the exhibit and I'm sure they felt like a kid again. There's free parking right in front of the museum and it's also within walkable distance to the skating rink and gift shop. There's also a gift shop inside the museum too and I recommend checking it out since they have exclusive products that aren't available in the other store. Discounts for seniors, students, military, young audiences and Museums for All beneficiaries are available. The exhibits are perfectly curated and not overwhelming at all. One of my favorite spots was the comic-style photo area (which by the way, you can customize with pre-written phrases, how cool is that?) Upstairs the recreation of Charles M. Schulz office feels warm and nostalgic, (also this lady who worked there was dancing and helping all visitors, she was lovely!) I enjoyed the activity area so much, which provides seating, materials and activities such as color Peanuts-themed art, try origami or even create simple animations. The staff is welcoming and this was such a wholesome experience. Definitely planning my next visit.

Yelp
A friend of mine recommended this place, and we didn't have high expectations since we thought it was a small museum. However, I decided to visit for my birthday and was pleasantly surprised. We arrived at 11 AM on a Friday, just as they opened, and ended up staying until around 3 PM. We spent a good portion of our time in the drawing/education hub, which was incredibly engaging and interactive. There were plenty of worksheets to take home as well. I also picked up some cool merchandise from the museum store. If you're planning to buy something, I'd recommend purchasing from the museum store rather than the regular Snoopy store.

Yelp
If you love Peanuts, come visit this museum to learn more about Charles M. Schulz and his famous cartoon characters. Santa Rosa's proud legendary cartoonist admits Charlie Brown's somewhat his alter ego. There's a photo op at Lucy's psychiatrist table and many cartoon strips on display to read and browse. Nostalgic!

Yelp
Me and the hubby live in Southern Cali and don't get to come up north too often but this place has been on my bucklist and I was so happy we finally were able to go! We came on a Sunday morning before our flight back home that evening. Parking was easy and it cost around $12 a person to enter the museum. We didn't know what to expect going in and were honestly surprised how much we enjoyed ourselves. We explored the museum, read the comics, took so many pictures, watched a movie in the theater and drew and colored to our hearts delight. We loved learning about how Charlie Brown and his friends were created and we loved how Charles' memory and work have been preserved.

Yelp
Fun place to spend a few hours at. Kids loved the cartoon strips, video about the museum, Sparky's office, dr is in booth, and the cartoons at the museum's theater. Lots to explore.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our experience here on a weekday afternoon. It's a charming stop for anyone who knows the beloved Peanuts characters. It's not too large, so it's easy to go through in a leisurely way in a relatively short amount of time. We were met with friendly front desk staff, as well as enthusiastic & knowledgeable docents along the way. We saw June 2024 exhibits of Peanuts Evolution: The 1960s, Cowabunga, Peanuts! (highlighting the link to skateboarding/surfing), & Snoopy in Orbit (Snoopy's connection to NASA)--all were cute. The art pieces by other inspired artists were impressive. You can watch lots of videos. You can see Schultz's belongings & accolades. There is a small outdoor area. The photo opps are all over. We spent time in the art room on the second floor where you can color, trace, draw, & make origami with all the materials & books you need at hand. You can leave artwork behind on a big bulletin wall. A cartoon was also playing on a tv. It was a very comfortable, relaxing space. There is a small gift shop & penny souvenir machine located there as well. The restrooms we used were well-maintained. Just show your receipt for in & out privileges.

Yelp
A great historical account of Charles Schulz and how the Peanuts gang came to be. Lots of art and pieces from his life, and a lot of interactive areas and breakout areas for kids! :)

Yelp
A wonder little museum detailing the life and creation of the Peanuts gang and their creator Charles M. Schulz. After roadtripping to SF, I convinced my family to drive a little further just for this museum. I am glad we did! It was so fun and had so much to see and learn about. Cute photo ops and a room where you can do crafts. Their restrooms are very clean. Small gift shop when you enter/exit, everything was nicely priced (both the tickets and the merchandise). I would definitely recommend coming here!

Yelp
This is a fun little excursion. My mom is a crazy Snoopy fanatic so our friend drove us here for half the day. There's a small cinema room that shows an interview of Charles M. Schulz. There's lots of art and different cool things to learn about. It's all fun and enjoyable. There's a little cafe and ice rink nearby. There's also a bigger gift shop in another building. Definitely a must visit.

Yelp
This is a great spot for young and old! Fun and inspirational images from Schulz and put you in instant happy mood when you encounter life sized CB at the entrance! Nothing short of a memory lane back to your happy childhood in the 70's... These were the reasons why you need to stop in!

Yelp
My daughter loves Snoopy so what better way to take her to the Charles Schulz Museum! It was better than I would have expected. There was a lot of history to the making of Charlie Brown and the gang which was very fascinating to me. They had a wall that was outlined as Charlie and Lucy (I think) but when you got closer to the wall it was comic strips in black and white, which was really cool! There was a cafe there for breakfast and lunch items that looks into the ice rink. The ice rink had a senior game going on which was nice to watch. Then beyond that building was a larger gift shop. It was a really good day trip and great to see the evolution of the cartoon.

Yelp
Cute little stop with friendly staff. Entrance for adults is only $12. Plenty of parking. Even EV charging available. You can probably run through this in 30 mins or spend 2 hours here reading everything you can. There is a "store/art gallery" across the street which is free to visit.

Yelp
I loved it!There was a little bit of everything. There were statues to take pictures with and appreciate and a lot of the history behind Peanuts. There is even food accross the street. Also an ice ring, I did not try it but I saw many try it. I only tried the hot cocoa outside of the food place and it was not good, I even think it went bad so I did not finish it but there was too many people so I did ask them anything. I would give it a try ordering it inside instead of outside of the warm puppy cafe. The gift shop was ok, I was hoping to find more goodies but that is fine. I did not find things that I wouldn't otherwise at tj max/homegoods or other stores. I loved the museum portion tho!

Yelp
Loved the Charles M. Schulz Museum! Tons of original Peanuts art, fun Snoopy sculptures, and a super cute courtyard. The recreated studio gives a peek into Schulz's world, and the theater showing Peanuts specials is a nice touch.

Yelp
Charlie Brown Museum known as the Charles Schultz Museum is fun and interactive. Lots of pictures of the cartoons, a theater showing a documentary about Charles Schultz, a theater with Peanuts cartoon movies, and an art room where you can trace Snoopy cartoon characters, different sculptures, Charles Schultz office furniture set up the way it was in his original office, a wall panel from his daughter's bedroom that Charles Schultz drew for her and much more! In the art room, you can make your own still movies and your own origami Snoopy house. There are pictures of different characters you can trace . They provide you with different size tracing paper so you can use the paneled paper and trace one character in each panel or one large piece of paper and trace the characters in whatever way you want. There is a gift store and upstairs is a display of dressed up Snoopy stuffed animals. You can take lots of pictures with different sculptures! Going to this museum was so much fun! Even our 7 year loved it and she is the type that easily gets bored! The art room was her favorite place!!

Yelp
Fantastic place to visit! The museum is chock full of memorabilia and has a rotating schedule of exhibits. Entry fee is very reasonable and there are several guides around that are happy to share their knowledge with you. The gift shop is very small and somewhat overpriced, however that is not really the focus of the museum itself. When done, step across the street to the ice area and the fantastic Gallery gift shop to view more memorabilia and see many displays of Snoopy and the gang--including a fantastic huge circular stained glass window on the second floor that is mind blowing---its that beautiful.

Yelp
A very sweet and darling museum with regular rotations about the work and life of Charles Schulz.... spacious, well cared for, and they even have the great pumpkin in their courtyard!! across the street is a larger gift shop with an ice rink! there's a small cafe too but the quality of the food isn't that great. if you have kids it's probably a whole day affair, but without kids, easily a half day and then you can take a drive out to visit roadside bakeries or wineries i'm really glad we went, very pleasant and wholesome time
