An East Lansing institution blending Chinese and Korean comfort dishes since the 1980s. Frequently recognized by City Pulse’s Top of the Town and celebrated by MSU alumni, it remains the go‑to for late‑night fried rice, jjajangmyeon, and bulgogi.

This place has the best food ever! I mean it’s always hot, fresh, and tasty. I have so many things I want to try. I’ll be back today however for my rice and my noodles. It’s the next day and I’m still full. Edit…. I’ve become a Charlie’s girl regular lol. This food be so good, plenty and reasonably priced. Last waitress could have done better.

Haven’t been back in years—still just like we remembered. Prices are fair for a college town, portions are decent. Mapo tofu and beef chow fun are solid picks. Skip the Chinese broccoli. Between Mongolian beef and chicken, definitely go beef. As someone who usually eats authentic Chinese food, this is about as guilt-free as Americanized Chinese gets.

The food is great and the service is excellent! The Pad Thai is so yummy 😋 you can choose how spicy the noodles are and all dishes come with vegetables.

The bibimbap at Charlie Kang's is delicious, and tastes as great as I recall from previous times eating there while in Michigan. The fresh vegetable spring rolls were nicely filled. All went down well with a lot of oolong tea. Another guest in my dinner party had the pork egg rolls with there cashew chicken. They said everything was delicious and the egg rolls were cooked perfectly. The server was friendly and professional. He was even surprised how quickly I ate my food. Parking is in an adjacent parking garage, but the walk to the restaurant isn't terrible.

3rd time ordering and 3 time regretting that decision. Ordered sesame chicken. Taste microwaved. Chicken was dry like jerky and the breading was just falling off. The sauce taste good but to avoid getting sick by the old chicken it went in the trash can AGAIN! My family will not waist money at this establishment again. Must have a ton of family leaving fake reviews... Beware!

I cannot recommend this place more! Been eating here since the 2005. This food and staff are phenomenal. Highly recommend!

I’m not from the area, so I was really hoping to find some great Chinese food. I’m from Florida, and we don’t have many good Chinese restaurants back home. Unfortunately, this place wasn’t much better. The egg rolls were so greasy that oil was literally dripping off them. The crab rangoons were the best part of the meal, but the beef egg foo young was a big disappointment — the gravy had no flavor, and the patty was watery and messy enough to drip all over my hoodie. 😫 On top of that, the price was ridiculous for what I got. I do not recommend!

We were not planning on eating much when we stopped by, but as soon as we looked at the menu, we couldn’t help ourselves. The food was fantastic, service was on point, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I absolutely recommend this place to any visitors, alumni, or students.
