"At the glitzy Capitol Hill steakhouse where Nadine Brown spent more than a decade, she rose from server to wine director and was a driving force behind the restaurant being awarded the local restaurant association's “best wine program of the year” in 2017 thanks to her tireless pursuit of interesting pours; she left that post last fall." - Warren Rojas

All around a really good dining experience. I walked in with jeans, t-shirt, and tennis shoes and felt under dressed. But, the staff was fantastic and very helpful. They waited on me very well and kept the drinks filled. In the restaurant row of the Grand Sierra Resort, it’s worth the trip into this casino to eat here. The aesthetic of the place is calm and a good place to relax, eat with a friend/loved one, or even a classy business meet up. They have a great selection of food. I chose the 21-day aged ribeye. Delicious and perfectly cooked. The creamy Yukon mashed potatoes were also amazing and complimented the steak every well. I would definitely come back and eat here again.

This evening my table had a phenomenal four course meal. Presentation was spectacular. Timing of serving different courses was on point. Exceptional service by our waiter Forest, who went above and beyond to see we had a pleasant evening. He deserves a raise! Best service we had in a while. You could sincerely tell that he has passion and pride in his work. We especially appreciated the chef coming out to our table to spend a brief moment asking our thoughts of the meal. Fully pleased with our experience. Only one small recommendation was the TV just to the side of our table with the sports game on , it was a small distraction from the rest of the lovely dining atmosphere.

We had a fantastic birthday dinner celebration at Charlie Palmer Steak! The cocktail list was impressive, especially the Poire d'Or, which I absolutely loved, and the service was top-notch. The ambiance is elegant, and every member of the staff was professional and attentive. Our server Landon was super fun and felt like the perfect fit for the vibe here. We loved his service and he treated us so well! We started with the classic Caesar salad, followed by the New York strip with peppercorn sauce, a half lobster tail, and a side of mashed potatoes. Everything was perfect and I loved the lobster tail. For dessert, we enjoyed a flawless creme brulee, and to top it off, they brought out a complimentary pineapple cake with birthday candles. Like, so thoughtful. The beer list was also very European and well-curated. My fiancee had a German beer. I'd highly recommend Charlie Palmer for a fun and memorable night out!

Food was amazing, atmosphere was great. But the service we received from Forest our waiter was the best. Thanks for the great experience and delicious food. We will definitely be back

Had a really nice mezcal and chartreuse cocktail. The steak was perfect, as was the fois gras. Lobster M n C to comfort the pallet. Dessert was ok, can’t remember what it was but pic provided. I would have preferred the cheesecake or something with chocolate

My husband and I had come to Charlie Palmer‘s steakhouse to enjoy a date night. Little did we know we would have the best night of our lives on a Tuesday. Our waiter Albert was extremely attentive and friendly. The food was exquisite and when we got hot towels towards the end of our experience, I was sold that that would be our very favorite place. We really enjoyed this amazing restaurant inside of the grand Sierra. We will definitely be back thank you.😊

Google
Forrest was our server and he was just amazing! It was our first time coming here to Charlie Palmers and always wanted to try the happy hour. Forrest was so attentive and service was just all around fantastic! And food was amazing! Everything amazing! Wow!

Lori F.

Google
Our server Blair was unmatched professionally! His attention to detail and his warm manner was a very nice touch! Not to mention the food was amazing!! We had several appetizers and a couple of entrees and everything had a unique flavor but not overdone. Yes a bit pricey but it was a very nice experience!

Yelp
I had the most amazing experience. I proposed to my girlfriend last night and it was beautiful thanks to Stephanie, the best manager. She made sure to set up my table before arrival, brought out special appetizers and champagne, on the house! The waiter was great and the chef cooked the best meal I've ever had. I can't wait to do my anniversary here every year.

Yelp
When in Reno... I always make a reservation at Charlie Palmer Steak. It's basically part of my Reno ritual at this point, and for good reason. I love starting my visit with a few drinks and appetizers at the best happy hour in town. :) Afterward, I'll take a break and wander the casino floor. A bit of gambling before heading back (a couple hours later) for my dinner reservation. My perfect rhythm to an excellent Reno evening! *Service- Excellent, always! *Steaks- Melt-in-your-mouth, cooked to perfection, superb! *Espresso martinis- Very tasty, well shaken - keeps me coming back for more! *Meals- Each one beautifully prepared, flavorful and reliable no matter how many times I visit. I've never been disappointed @CPS now that's saying something! ;) Charlie Palmer never misses, love the vibe and can't wait to return on my next trip to Reno. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I've always had a great time, experienced excellent service and indulged in many amazing dishes throughout the years at Charlie Palmer's. When playing at GSR, I will be here for our best dinner. This is the best restaurant at GSR whether it's you and your honey, or a large group. I'd even dine alone here. The menu is ever changing with delicious specials. One of my memorable specials was the lobster pasta. It came with lobster still in the shell but in pieces. This way, you know you're getting lobster! I always get a steak here. It's usually a ribeye or tomahawk. They always make it perfect or will make it right. They have a nice variety of sauces. My favorite are the bearanaise, chimichurri or peppercorn. The bread choices are exquisite with the fancy cinnamon butter or regular. The branzino is always delicious. They didn't have it last time so we had the Chilean Sea Bass in Tomato risotto. I'm not a big crab cakes fan but they were good. The roasted chicken was the only dish I thought was okay. The meat was just a bit dry. Overall, there's a low probability for disappointment here. Even when they've been short staffed, we're all understanding to the unforseable. (I am usually here with at least 3 or more people.) You just have to visit Charlie Palmer's if staying at GSR. They're the best!

Yelp
Made reservations for 7pm for a party of 5 to celebrate a birthday for a friend who's not from here, we were seated on time, although the table was set for 4 not 5, and pretty quickly greeted by our server who was great! This is where it goes bad, 2 of our party had cocktails, one had a regular iced tea and the rest had water, the cocktails came quickly as did the waters. However, the iced tea took over 10 minutes to get to the table-it's iced tea not anything fancy. The glasses smelled like old dirty dishwater. While placing our order we mentioned some food allergies, one being specifically to fish and the other being shellfish (2 different members of the party), this is important as we go on. Crab cakes were ordered and since it came out and nothing was said about the possibility of fish contaminating it, it was eaten by the party with the fish allergy, as soon as it was consumed this person realized that there may be some sort of fish contamination and ended up having to take some Benadryl. Luckily an ER visit wasn't needed!! Pretty bad when the allergies were mentioned prior the order being sent to the kitchen. The menu has crab cakes as an appetizer, this should read crab cake because there is only one, very misleading. 3 people in the party ordered the 8oz filet minion Oscar style. Big mistake!!! The crab on the steak smelled and tasted like it was from a can! We all ended up scraping it off! One of the steaks had to be sent back cause it wasn't cooked medium rare but rare, the second steak came out again with the stinky gross crab all over it only this time with more crab juice! Gross! 1 person ordered the scallop appetizer and they were ok, but with the above possible contamination they were worried that their meal may have been contaminated with their allergen. The only safe meal seemed to be the chicken! They did try to make it right by comping a couple of things and giving us free desserts but after going through this for 2 hours we were done and wanted to go home so they were declined. A larger party was sat after us and their food came out around the time that ours did!! As a local this is the most disappointing meal I've eaten in a while and will not be going back or recommending them to people I know, in I will recommend that they do not eat here.

Yelp
As you know, I am a loyal customer at GSR, even with the lower comps, lol. Quality/Quantity - What a GREAT happy hour! One of my favorites in Reno. Definitely my favorite in GSR. Steakhouse Burger - My regular go-to dish. When possible, I will do a split plate as I am a light eater. And today was ladies night! So free champagne! I was so happy!! My wife kept the champagne coming.... Last visit I was with my daughter, wife, and another female friend; I think the ladies got me drunk... Atmosphere - Beautiful looking location. Maintained well, even with the remodel done so many years ago. Service - 5 stars, from all the visits! Thank you. Today was new employee training day; actually, last time it was too. But you seem to have a good "partner" system. Today, Brittney did a great job training. Price - Inexpensive during Happy Hour, thank you! Plus a generous tip!!! Owner Comment - Congrats on your 16+ locations. Looking forward to visiting your NY, Napa, and LV locations. Wait, why does your website only have 3 locations...? The internet says you have 12 locations.... Confused.

Yelp
Happy to return here for an amazing steak dinner. Enjoyed the Royal Filet Oscar which is an 8 ounce tenderloin topped with King crab, asparagus and béarnaise. It was cooked perfectly to my requested temperature of medium rare. The Brussel Sprouts are a favorite of mine. The bread basket also came with a deliciously flavored strawberry butter as well as a salted butter. Prior to our dinner we started with drinks in their lounger area during happy hour. Drinks were half off during this time (4-6pm). So good. Dine here if you can. You won't regret it as you will tremendously enjoy the service and the lovely atmosphere.

Yelp
We had dinner reservations on a Saturday night, and service was impeccable. Donovan was our server, and he made sure we had a great dining experience. Food bordered from just ok to good. Tomahawk was a bit chewy on some parts, and the French onion soup was a bit on the salty side. We all loved the ahi tuna, side dishes, and drinks. We were able to use our casino comps from Grand Sierra Resort which was an added bonus.

Yelp
We ate her for my mother in law's birthday. She loves Grand Sierra Resort and Charlie Palmer's Steak Restaurant was located here. We were a huge party of 13! The ambiance is very nice for a celebration. The menu is interesting because you order your meat and then you order sides for the table so that everyone can share the sides. It took me a while to figure it out. The meat was delicious, the sides were so yummy. The service was exceptional! As soon as a dish was empty they would clear it out. It's an expensive dinner but for a special occasion it was well worth it!

Yelp
This is a review for the Charlie Palmer Pigs and Pinot event 2025 at the Grand Sierra Resort. All different kinds of pork dishes created and prepared by the Charlie Palmer chefs. Delicious dishes with Indian, Mediterranean flair. Pork belly melt in your mouth dishes. Pork chops and tenderloin, all paired with pinots from different wineries. This is my introduction to the Charlie Palmer cuisine and it was an event that I will never forget. Excellent food, courteous and friendly staff.

Yelp
First time visit at Charlie Palmer's Lounge. I had Happy Hour. Nice and quiet, open, classy and great bar staff and cocktails. I recommend the Espresso Martini (I took a photo). They use actual espresso, not cold brew!

Yelp
This was our first time at Charlie Palmer's Reno. We have been to the one in Napa. Not quite sure why we have never been here but we will definitely be back. We went with another couple because they invited us for my wife's birthday. They ordered Caesar salad and filet. I ordered branzino and it was amazing. Wife had prawn linguine. She loved it. Said that the prawns were the best she ever ate. Forest our server was exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable and very personable.

Yelp
Preparation - we made a reservation and brought a bottle of wine we were saving for a special occasion. We also reviewed the menu on line and had conversations about what we were excited to try. Arrive - seated - server comes to the table and offers to open our wine. Fine. Curious that didn't ask to decant it - but okay. We ordered two cocktails - saving the wine for dinner and we also put in our order for the A5 Kobe Beef Tartare. We were so excited to try it. Sadly - it was basically eating shallots and dijon with a hint of beef. Why would you cover up such high quality beef with super strong flavors? We finished our appetizer and still haven't seen those cocktails. We also didn't receive any bread. Server returns, we ask about bread, order our other items and asked about our cocktails. Oh we're kinda backed up tonight. Sure - but those guys next to us came in after us, ordered cocktails after us and they are already enjoying theirs. Hmmm. Next up - Royal Filet Oscar - Med/Rare. It was RARE.. REALLY RARE. Like cold inside. He enjoyed the pork chop and couldn't even eat the orecchiette - it was a garlic bomb. We mentioned that to the Server and he comped our corkage for the inedible side. The decor is dated. The servers/management seemed sloppy and semi-interested. For the $$ you spend at these Steakhouses - you expect more. And the Reno area has so many great places for steaks - I think we'll skip Charlie's in the future.

Yelp
Charlie Palmer was an above average steakhouse. The service was great and the food was very good. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. His assistant was very attentive and personable. I ordered the Prime Bone-in Tomahawk which goes for $159. The steak itself was amazing with a nice seared crust and perfect seasoning. I do not understand the tomato it seemed a little excessive. I would have preferred some kind of greens. My wife order the filet which was cooked to perfection. We ordered sides of lobster mac and jumbo asparagus. My wife said next time she would get the lobster mac alone it was so good. It is on the pricey side but with the 20% locals discount it makes the price stomach-able. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be back at some point.

Yelp
Drinks are fabulous! Happy Hour is 50% off certain yummy items! Service spot on! Oysters are soooo good!
google avatar

Lav L.

Yelp
We came to try their most popular happy hour, everything on the happy hour menu is 50% off. Lamb lollipops - there are 3 pieces, glazed with balsamic vinegar, on a sweet side, which I love. If you don't like sweet, you may find it too sweet. Baked potato - comfort food, can't go wrong, yummy. SV5 - not as sweet as I expected, I don't drink alcohol a lot, so find it too strong for me, but I am sure other drinks will find it ok. Steakhouse Burger - they split it into 2 for us, the sweet part is they make into 2 dishes instead of just cut the burger into 2. Very thoughtful! Although the HH menu is limited, but there are great food choices, highly recommend!

Yelp
Charlie Palmer steak located in GSR! Yummmm! Had such a great dinner here a few weeks ago! Our server was Blair, which I adored him because he has the same name as my dog! He was attentive, nice, gave good recommendations! I got the filet. I had a glass of champagne. Both were great! We got the Au gratin potatoes and the mushrooms. Both were amazing! It doesn't stop there when you sit down you get this amazing bread, sourdough and regular rolls! It comes with butter and strawberry butter. Would come back again for sure. My girl and I also got the wedge salad to share, it was huge but delicious! The restaurant is beautiful!

Yelp
We came here for my best friend's 30th birthday. It was a short wait to be seated we had no prior reservations. The beginning service was great. We go a few orders of drinks. We were disappointed that there wasn't the usual verity of bread we only got 1 type and it wasn't the best. We got our food in approximately an hour after get our appetizer again we kept ordering bread while waiting but happy to say the food was great for the most part. Here is why I am giving them a 1 star review. We got the bill and were curious to see why our bill was $1,100 dollars. Upon review we notice that their A5 wagyu steaks were charged $249 for the 6oz when on the menu it said $150 and 2 - 4oz $200 when menu states $100. I called the sever over and asked if this is correct he said yes. Then I contested saying are you sure can you bring a menu he said you know what let me bring the check back and double check. So he comes back and say sorry this was a "system error" while normally I'm accommodating and understanding but this was a big red flag because a 100 up charge on multiple items is a crazy system error. I hate to do this but they also did nothing about their mistake besides changing back to original price. Sucks because I did like our food but you should not try to take advantage of people. Maybe because we look drunk or people of color I don't know but I stay at GSR all the time and I will not be coming back there!

Yelp
We were excited to try a new steakhouse that we've never been to, unfortunately we wish we hadn't. We started off with French onion soup, when we received it we were told they used provolone cheese. Hmm...unusual as we are familiar with it being made with Gruyère cheese. It gave the soup a much different taste than what we are used to. Then we tried the bread and it was super dry. Putting butter on it didn't even help. We decided not to order steak since they were charging $80 for an 8oz filet. We've been to many different steakhouse restaurants and we've never paid that much for a steak. Not a good experience. Will not be going back.

Yelp
Charlie Palmer is a great place to go for a date night, night out with friends or just wanting to grab a quick drink! We went for a date night to conclude our stay cation and it was great we decided to go down and enjoy happy hour which was a great decision because I got to get two appetizers I planned on getting at dinner early for the price of one! The oysters and lamb lollipops both were good. I will say I wish the lamb had a bit more seasoning simply some salt and pepper would've paired nicely with the tomato jam which was amazing but without it the lamb left me wanting for more. The oysters were fresh and refreshing. Our bartender at the bar was great she offered to take our pictures and was very personable and we'd go back just to have her serve us. After we concluded at the bar we went to be seated. Our server was great she asked us our names if we were celebrating anything and continued to call us by name the entire time she was amazing and very personable as well. Our food was again great! Not pictured was the seafood pasta that my partner had that was amazing I will say they asked if she wanted it spiced and we said yes but we couldn't tell if they spiced it haha. But it still didn't disappoint our server was so attentive they initially brought out the pan roast and she caught it before they sat it down and got it fixed for our correct meal. I had the lamb again (can you tell I like lamb) while this was a different lamb I have some of the same critiques I wish they would've salted and peppered the lamb more without the compliments it was a bit flavorless when you didn't take a bite with something else. I think a nice brine before cooking could help because it was the inside of the lamb more so than the outside. Overall though we thoroughly enjoyed our time and will be back!

Yelp
A calm and quiet night in the steakhouse was what I needed. I was treated as I walked up and offered a seat anywhere. Sitting at the bar and having James and Brittany take care of me was a great choice. I ordered the CAB Filet at MR and it was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the broccolini and make sure to request bread! The French onion soup ahead of my meal is what really inspired me to leave this review. Great menu and excellent food! The ambiance was calming with little distraction. I look forward to future dinners with clients here.

Yelp
It's usually pretty busy when I visit - the food is good - a bit pricey , let's just say I was very very happy with the experience. I sit at the bar and enjoy the moment. I say down and the staff greeted me very quickly- I was kinda caught off guard how fast they were - I am very pleased about this- my order was taken and the food came out really fast- the beet salad was amazing- the beets were small and I thought there would be more- the greens were fresh and filling. I had the 6 oz filet - I should have gotten the 10oz- it was good , but just not enough- the mushrooms were fantastic as were the broccolini - mmmm - I was happy and I will be back- I'll sit inside next time to see what the dining experience is like-

S C.

Yelp
The service was great, but their food and atmosphere was average, no wow factor with any of the three main meals! The restaurant had a cold atmosphere! Disappointed!

Yelp
First time visiting Reno and we heard great things about the Grand Sierra so we decided to check it out. The food here was very flavorful, we thought that the steak was much better than the lamb lollipops, they were a bit bland and a bit watery. Our server Forrest was a cool guy, very respectful, but we felt he was a bit too attentive. Some parties wouldn't mind it, but we felt it was a bit over the top. The ambiance was pretty, quiet and luxurious. Overall it was a good experience if you have the money to spend. Would definitely recommend splitting one of their beef dishes!

Michelle W.

Yelp
I ordered the filet with crab on top. It was absolutely amazing. Best dinner I have ever had in Reno. I will be back every time I visit. Our server Brian was so knowledgeable, he was patient and answered every one of our questions. Brian made my 50th birthday special. This dinner was an EXPERIENCE and was EXCELLENT. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Finally happy hour has returned. Recently a last minute decision to meet a friend at Charlie Palmers yielded a happy hour mini buffet. HH is offered only at the bar, which was perfect. That's where we wanted sit. Bartender informed us we had 15 minutes left to HH. So picked a cocktail quickly- you really can't go wrong with their espresso martini. Simply amazing, wanted a second but knew the first one was going to sneak up on me later. This martini would make a killer brunch cocktail. Sad CP doesn't do brunch. Then decided on three dishes to share. The roasted spiced cauliflower was actually OMG delicious. The perfect middle eastern spiced on cauliflower roasted in butter. Mmm. The steak skewers, three nice medium rare steak bites on an arugula salad. And the ahi tartare- nice cubes of ahi floating on a cloud of guacamole served with fried wonton chips. At half off drinks and food, the total bill was $74 with tax. $37 each wasn't bad for a glad Tuesday is over celebration. The bar area was nice and quiet, which made it very pleasant to enjoy a catch up conversation. Considering the bar area is just off the casino floor, I never really heard the casino noise at all.

Yelp
Decided to give them a try on thanksgiving. The restaurant is really nice. Ordered to go at the bar, the customer service was great. I ordered the crab cakes 6/10, lobster mac 8/10 and broccolini 7/10. The wait was 30-45 minutes picked up in 35 minutes and brought back to the hotel and the dood wasnt even warm. I definitely disappointed. Dont know if id be back.

Yelp
We went for happy hour. They have a pretty good food and drink menu for happy hour. It goes from 4-6 sun-thurs. Service was prompt and friendly. We thought the food was decent. The ambiance was nice as we sat at the bar butt the table areas seemed intimate.

Yelp
Happy hour has returned. And it's still as good as it used to be before the Pandemic. 1/2 price appetizers and cocktails. Espresso Martini to die for. Although today I opted for the Gin Cocktail I think it's called French 775 .. excellent. Today our group opted for: Prawn Cocktail, Thick Slab Bacon, Ceasar Salad, Roasted Cauliflower and Lobster Bisque. And shoestring french fries. Not a crumb was left (there were 5 of us) Last week we tried the Crudo and a Hamburger, both good, but the hambuger was a little pricey at 1/2 price (half of $37 .. that's alot, even at a Steak House). See photos. Only negative about it (but not for me), is that you have to sit at the bar for Happy Hour .. no table service. I don't mind, some do.
google avatar

Helen H.

Yelp
Everything here was good but I wouldn't say it was Anythign that special that I would come back for. A lot of peopel had the steak and said it was well cooked. I personally had the PEI mussels and the lobster bisque- both were good. Price was probably right in line for a casino high end restaurant.

Yelp
I never used to like Charlie Palmer. My last visit to this steakhouse was close to ten years ago and until recently, I hadn't returned because I felt the service wasn't good and the steak was subpar. I came back last night because it was my good friend's birthday and he wanted to dine here. My expectations weren't high, but I'm happy to report that it was a MUCH better experience this time around. The service from our waiter, Erewyn, was top notch. He was personable, attentive, and a total pro. My food? Also top notch. I tried the lobster mac (delicious), potato purée (also delicious), the grilled asparagus, and the main event - an American Wagyu Filet with a red demi sauce. I never thought I would drop $100 bucks on a steak, but I did, and don't regret it one bit. The marbling and flavor was eons above a normal filet. The red demi was an excellent accompaniment, though not required. Best of all, I asked for a medium doneness and actually got that (last time I was here my steak was way overcooked). Based on last night's experience, I would definitely go back.

Yelp
We had a great dinner with excellent service last night and just wanted to recognize Alexander for making the extra effort to make the evening enjoyable in spite of our grumpy 4 year old. The 21 day aged ribeye and salmon were cooked perfectly and all of our little requests were accommodated without hesitation. Thank you!

Jason U.

Yelp
The service is excellent, the chef takes care of a lot of details. There may be things listed on the menu, but not available because they're not to his specification. Steaks, sauces, sides, all on point.
google avatar

Brian P.

Yelp
find myself coming here at least once a week whenever I'm back in town for work. Whether you're sitting at the bar or at a table, the atmosphere is always welcoming and enjoyable. The food is consistently great--honestly, I could drink the peppercorn sauce, it's that good. That said, on my last visit, the scallops were unfortunately over-salted, which was a bit of a letdown. But overall, this is still a top-notch steakhouse. If you're looking for a budget-friendly steak spot, this probably isn't the place for you--but if you're after quality, it's well worth it.

Yelp
Julián was incredible! 10/10 service and food was definitely worth every penny. It's a nice steak restaurant and the perfect expresso martinis. The service the restaurant and vibes were amazing! Thank you Julian for being so helpful and amazing with h the menu options.

Yelp
Great happy hour. Had the steakhouse burger and French onion gratinee. Great service, even split all the portions for the both of us without us even asking. Great spirit forward cocktails. Clean restaurant and nice ambiance, easy to forget you're in a casino.

Yelp
The bar happy hour is good, limited menu but it is half price, I had the burger so good. Prawns next very good. Leslie, Bianca, James all are very attentive. Robert is just a little extra. Very kind, sweet and personable. Thanks Robert.

Yelp
This is the second time we have had dinner here. The first time was amazing! Good food, service and the bill was pretty good. The second time most of the food was great, service was good but not as good and the bill......... Crazy! Our waiter mentioned a seafood special. Did not mention the price. I think that if you are going to advertise a special that is $220.00 dollars just for that plate you should probably mention that when you talk about the special! This over 3 times the cost of the most expensive thing on our bill. I would have never ordered it. The pasta was very andante and I did not eat it. Just a warning to ask questions.

Yelp
We had 7 pm reservations for a party of 8. We checked in and said that 3 people canceled. This deduction of guests seemed to push our reservations back almost 20 or so minutes. While our waiter was nice, the rest of the dinner was kind of a mess. After our drink order was given it took almost 15 minutes to receive our drinks. We let our waiter know we had tickets to Fantasies in Chocolate at 8:30. We put in our dinner order and this took almost an hour to receive our food. Five minutes before our food came, a mystery bread basket was put on the table. The food was ok. I ordered the 8oz filet mignon medium rare and it was a little too cooked. My husband ordered the salmon and he said it was dry. Halfway through my steak, the waiter remember to give our table actual steak knives. Prior to, I was just sawing away with a table knife. The only bright moment was that I had GSR's players card and received a locals' discount of 20% on the check. I understand that there was an event, but maybe they needed to staff accordingly.

Yelp
Wow! First time here, but have eaten at steak houses all over the US. Had a wonderful experience this past weekend. The food was incredible!!! Service was very good! Had the beet salad, must try beets were perfect! I heard there was a new chef, so I would guess he is very good because all the food was amazing! Thank you!

Yelp
Can't believe it's been several months since the last visit.. Made reservations for 5 pm thru Open table- However, the bar was open, so we snagged a few seats .. So glad, they always have the same crew attending the bar!.. Fast and efficient service.. Menu changed (seasonal items).. so instead of the beet salad, got the crisped slice cauliflower, Steak skewers, and the steakhouse burger.. Love how they bring out everything timely, and split nicely on separate plates.. Cannot beat the happy hour menu and also drinks! This will be a regular dining option.

Yelp
Went here for NYE dinner, had a 6 pm reservation for 3. Sat promptly and greeted warmly. Drinks were brought and salads came out, then it went down hill!!! They took forever to clear plates, main dishes can out cold and they forgot about the sides so they came out 10 minutes after main dishes...not the kind of experience you expect for a 480$ dinner!

Yelp
I went by myself to celebrate my birthday dinner. I was pleasantly greeted by a couple hostesses who confirmed my reservation, any food, allergies, and that I was celebrating my birthday. My waiter was Brian, who was most pleasant and very attentive throughout my four course chefs choice dinner. The first entrée was a shrimp appetizer that I don't remember the name, but it was to die for good. It reminded me of what a crabcake consistency is, but it had a little bit of kick to it and infuse with some pork belly, and the flavor palette was top-notch . The second course was kind of risotto blend with truffles and feta cheese. The flavors were good, but I really did not care for that type of pasta The third course much to my surprise was a beautiful filet mignon not medallions cooked perfectly to my medium rare request, and I was in heaven With the flavors of this steak. The fourth course was an amazing dessert, which I am not a dessert person, but I ate half of this beautiful, coconut, lime infused cheesecake, ball, and crested with white chocolate drizzled with honey and roasted macadamia nuts. I have never enjoyed a dessert as much as that dessert. Then to top it off, they bought me a little slice of a fudge cake brownie something that had fresh raspberries and raspberry drizzle which I took with me because I could not eat anything else. This by far was one of my favorite meals I've ever had and the service was exceptional and I thank you Brian. The rest of the staff was amazing how they supported their tables and other tables if needed to be and the young gentleman that packaged up my leftovers was so polite. I will be back again, and I certainly would suggest anybody that has a pallet for a good steak to come to this restaurant - you won't be disappointed

Yelp
Never again!! We had a party of four!! We have been to this restaurant many times before and the food was great!! Last night all the food was burnt and tough, including the French fries!! We ordered the ribeye steak medium, $95.00 for a disgusting, dry, tough piece of shoe sole!! The floor manager was unprofessional and stood around talking to his staff joking instead of tending to customers!! Never Again!! They have fallen!!

Yelp
We went for their happy hour. Everything was clean and service was quick and friendly. The happy hour food was good. They had unique options... not just a burger and wings. I would recommend this place especially for happy hour.

Yelp
I get the special insider "cut of the week" emails weekly and finally got around to using it! It's a special deal they offer for locals which features a prefixed menu and is a food + wine pairing experience. You can use the special on Mondays through Thursdays between 5-6:30pm. They change the menu weekly which is amazing! They also have a seafood version of this deal. We came on a Wednesday at 5:30! It's easy to make reservations through Open Table. We were seated promptly and service was good throughout the evening. There were times when we felt like our waiter actually checked on us too much. I'd rather have that than not enough! Our menu included a cranberry and feta salad, 6oz filet mignon plus sides, and valrhona chocolate cheesecake. Plus we got complimentary bread to start. The salad came with a white wine and the entree came with a red wine. I got my steak cooked medium well and butterflied. Everything was absolutely delicious! Servings were decently sized. Flavors were plentiful. The food paired very well with the wines. My friend who joined us was disappointed to see that the wine pours were limited to once glass per wine. I guess when he has been here in the past, the experience included several refills of each wine. I was happy with my two glasses, it still seemed like plenty for me! This special comes out to $65/person which is incredible for 3 courses plus 2 glasses of wine. For perspective--on their regular menu, a 6oz filet mignon steak by itself is $65 and you have to purchase sides separately. I will definitely be coming back for this deal again soon!

Yelp
We are so happy we were not discouraged with the lower than average star reviews. This surprisingly is such a great steak house. We enjoyed everything. The oysters were fresh. The shrimp cocktail also fresh. The steak was absolutely perfectly cooked. We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts and just delicious! Service was wonderful. A bit pricey but if you're considering wanting to stay local and not leave the resort this steak house is just perfect.

Yelp
Some of the tastiest food we had during our trip to Reno. The bread was delightful and we enjoyed all of the dishes we ordered. The burger, ribeye and mac and cheese.

Yelp
Something went way wrong this evening. We ALWAYS have a steak dinner at Charlie Palmer's Steakhouse when we stay at GSR. I specifically look forward to a great Ribeye, I've never had a ribeye so tough anywhere. The quality of the food was so disappointing!! The bread was good. Staff was a little quorky this was even before the food arrived. TOUGH Steak! Over cooked fries, two anchovies with Caesar salad, missing Baked potato! The manager did attempt to make things right and I appreciated that. But my whole dining experience had been ruined at that point. I left hungry and DISAPPOINTED.

Yelp
This is solely based off of the happy hour, it was truly wonderful. Our waitress was very attentive, my friend and I ordered the SV5 which was amazing, and it felt like the food came out immediately taking over the table. I ordered the cauliflower hummus and the piedmontese burger and my friend ordered the bacon wrapped scallops and the fried zucchini. The hummus was amazing and it felt like there was such a generous service, and the Piedmontese burger was actually a double patty burger with truffle parmesan fries. There was so much food, and considered the price we both ordered an espresso martini for dessert. We split the bill and it was $45 each before tip. My friend read that we saved $85 during our happy hour time. This was a great experience and I hope to come back soon to try different menu items!
