Where to eat and drink at Daikin Park while watching the Houston Astros. - Houston - The Infatuation

"If there’s one thing Houstonians are passionate about—besides all things Jose Altuve—it’s barbecue. So of course Daikin Park hired its own pitmaster to slow-smoke pork ribs and brisket for Astros fans. Order the Mc RBI Sandwich at The Butcher for a smoky pork sandwich loaded with tangy escabeche pickles on a potato roll. This sandwich’s portability makes it easy to fist pump for Yordaddy’s homer without dropping your lunch." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene

Don’t let the gas station fool you. CtB express has a stand alone counter with a super friendly server (Katelyn) and really good food. The meal was an exceptional value…a bit salty with mild horseradish but overall a great spot!

I love getting dinners here to take home. The turkey is delicious! Great prices! Friendly staff! Yum!

Used to go here all the time when I was taking courses at ECC '18-'19 and discovered it. For the price, you can't go wrong and honestly I'd rather go here than the flagship location. You can get a meal that includes meat and sides for a price that's better even though it's the SAME product. The flagship location everything is ala-carte. Here, you can get the "butcher bowl" which includes a meat and side, or do the meat and split your side for $9.49. I don't know if they still do it but you can pay extra for more meat. In any case, it's an amazing and filling lunch where you get the roast beef sliced and cubed up, mashed potatoes, and their mixed vegetables with gravy on it or on the side. I think you can get a roll too if you want. The portion is substantial, too. Apparently you can do it with their daily specialty meat as well though I assume the price would be different. Haven't been there in a while so I was stoked to see it still there and still be just as good. Staff was extremely kind as well.

A MAZING!!! Our food was delicious as always. The same quality as the original. The woman helping us was so pleasant and thoughtful. She had a good line and took it in stride. Even through the mask you could see the smile on her face. Update: Her name is Kaitlyn!

Seems to be a different experience after 6pm. If this was my first beef on weck I'd never have another. Beef bordering on well done, sliced thicker than usual. Of course I'll try them again but pay closer attention I guess.

This is one of my favorite lunchtime stops. They have daily specials that always hit the spot, not to mention the sides and soup.

It's kind of a noisy environment during the lunch hour, aside from that it's good food without a long wait.

You shouldn't have to take your order to the speedway gas register to cash out and how about having bags large enough for your order, and how about having someone working the register that's a little intelligent 8/4/2019 2:51:39 pm reg:2 penny h./ Food is not that great and the girl working the carving station didnt know how to slice the meat with the grain.

Yelp
I only knew about beef on weck from reading a few blogs about what to eat in Buffalo - roast beef on a salt and caraway bun, served with horseradish. Read another tour blog that said you can try it at Charlie's. I like all these ingredients (a lot), but didn't expect this sandwich to blow me away... IT DID. They give the inner sides of the bun a little dip in the beef au jus, which makes this sandwich so juicy. The meat was warm, soft, and pink. Side pickle perfectly crispy. Cool historic atrium to eat in. You can't go wrong here. (Note: this review is for the Charlie's outlet in the Ellicott Square building, just noticed, oops!)

Yelp
Don't let the gas station setting fool you. This is as good as the original location. We sat down and stayed a while but I saw many people order whole meals to go which is convenient if you're in a hurry. Though I am born and raised in the area I regrettably live in the culinary wasteland that is Colorado Springs. Charlie The Butcher is just one of those great Buffalo institutions that you can depend on for great food. Beef on Weck with a side of horseradish. Yes please! Big tip - make sure you have them dunk the bun in the au jus! Adds huge flavor and moisture to the bun! Bonus - there is also a Tim Hortons in the same building if you need a donut and coffee afterwards!

Yelp
Place was dirty - floor and counter You have to bring your open food to gas area to pay that is gross No restroom available and that is law for a restaurant and rude to disabled folks making a mockery - thus Yelp can remove this but ADA complaint can be issued - ADA complainants need to be noted on here Clean up and do not to rude to customers Place down the road is just as dirty - ck out the condiment area and restrooms at that place

Yelp
This place is amazing. I went on recommendation from a coworker who lives in Boston. I had the Beef on Weck. The bun really makes the sandwich - it has salt crystals on it that make the sandwich really pop. The meat itself was pretty lean, which I am a huge fan of. The parking lot is small, found a spot without issue though. This just became a regular spot for me when I visit Buffalo.

Yelp
Food is as good as their flagship location. Was in there today and my guest pulled a tootsie roll sized piece of glass out of her mashed potatoes. Turns out the potatoes come from a supplier and are not made in house. If that isn't off putting enough, the manager didn't seem to respect the gravity of that situation. Someone could have died or been seriously injured. My guest wasn't looking for compensation but when you find broken glass in your food I would say that justifies some sort of "olive branch" extension. I'll be back but I'd revisit that vendor relationship if I were Charlie.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in WNY. 3rd generation butcher decided to start carving for his customers. Beefonweek us only superseded by their grilled prime rib. Grilled vegetables and soups are unexpected delights and their malts and floats bring me back. If you are headed there, pick me up on the way!!!
