Great food and even better people. Charlie’s cafe is family run and community central. The owners knows every single regular and is often having meaningful conversation with them sometimes along side his son or other family members. I can’t tell you how many times they gotten me out of a pinch when the laundry mat next store has a broken coin machine or just eats my money. This morning that exactly happened and they gave me cash back(even though they don’t formally support that) I went to get my laundry started and the woman working there walk my sandwich over to me in the next building! Truly made a bad day so much better with such small acts of kindness

The coffee is great at Charlie’s. The sandwiches are great. The chai is great. But even more than that, Charlie and all the people who work there are warm and friendly and make my day better.

This is great place if you enjoy restaurants with character. Unfortunately, the bagel breakfast sandwich was just okay. The bacon was extremely thin. The cheese seems like low end cheddar cheese you’d buy at a super market. The bagel itself was alight. Nothing special. The owner is super kind and helpful though.

Fun , friendly proprietor . Nice place to relax across the street from serene precita park. Spring 2025 " Thursday evening pizza" - don't miss this weekly, family & kid friendly popup. Grab a slice of natty,s famous pie, top it off with a cold beer or glass of wine.

Nice and friendly neighborhood cafe at Bernal Heights. Makes you feel at home every time. This is a great cafe for both families and singles, almost like a community center. They have also books and toys for kids. Open until late afternoon. Large parklet in addition to the indoor seating. It's a cool place to have breakfast, lunch, or just coffee. Good free live music on Saturday or Sunday afternoons on most of the weekends. On Friday mornings, Bernal Bakery brings yummy fresh bread and pastries, accompanied by soft live music.
