Lower Greenville’s easygoing spot for New Orleans standards—fried seafood platters, crawfish étouffée, and grilled oysters—carrying forward a longtime local lineage at the original Dodie’s address. Noted by the Dallas Morning News and appreciated by locals for its lively Mardi Gras spirit.

The gumbo is tangy and different from what I am use to eating. Fried seafood was tasty and crispy. I enjoyed the frued green tomatoes but I do not recommend the sauce with shrimp unless you enjoy a tangy sauce. Service was good friendly staff.

Charlie’s Seafood Kitchen is a true gem! The crawfish is incredibly fresh, the portions are generous, and every dish is packed with flavor. The crab fingers in garlic butter are absolutely delicious, and the flounder topped with cream sauce is top-tier — easily one of the best I’ve had. Every plate was a 10 out of 10. If you love seafood done right, this place is a must-visit.

Family owned restaurant specializes in Cajun cuisine. Nawlins style decor enhances the dining experience. Emily was our waitress and her attention to our every need was outstanding, Great bar and the coldest beer on tap. Appetizer choices are plentiful. The seafood fondue is a must. Fresh oysters and boiled peel and eat shrimp is a good start. Two gumbos- seafood and chicken and sausage. Try the crab cakes too . Anything fried is delicious. In season, try the crawfish it’s mouth watering good. Half crawfish tails and half crawfish etouffee was an awesome plate. Save room for the house prepared key lime pie dessert. Lower Greenville Ave has enjoyed this location for 30 plus years Once you visit you will see why it has stood the test of time.

Google
The server was great. I had the Rockefeller oysters 6 for 27$ .. they tasted good but I believe they used packaged oysters not fresh. Each oyster had 2 or 3 oysters on it. That would mean they served me old/used oyster shells and just added new oysters on top. For 27$ they should be fresh. And I’ve never seen a fresh oyster come with 2/3 oysters in it.. very disappointed.

Google
This was my first time trying this place so I didn't want to order too much and be disappointed, but I was. The crawfish was spicy🌶️ but it lacked seasoning, it tasted as if it was packed with Old Bay seasoning, it was not juicy as I'm used to and the body was bigger than the tail, no one I know eat the body of the crawfish, I prefer small crawfish. The gumbo was good, I rated it an 8 out of 10, but I definitely will not be going back, I just feel like nothing else will be well seasoned. Also they have a gnat problem , they kept flying around my food and some was In the restroom as well, quit a few in the men's restroom, said my partner. The staff was great though

Google
Absolutely disgusting experience. I came to celebrate with family and friends, and it turned into a total nightmare. The manager had the nastiest attitude—rude, dismissive, and clearly didn’t care about customer service. My friend and I both ordered the crawfish étouffée, and somehow mine came out looking completely different—pale, watery, and absolutely flavorless. It tasted like someone dumped crawfish into dirty dishwater and called it a meal. No seasoning, no flavor, no effort. To make it worse, the place was infested with gnats. We spent half the time swatting bugs away from our food like we were at a picnic in the swamp. Disgusting and completely unacceptable. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. This place is a joke.

Yelp
This is a mixed review. I like this restaurant. The food is always above average to really good. The flavors, temperature, and presentation are always "on point" Ambiance - it is a restaurant in a small strip center in a part of town with challenging traffic and parking. If you can park your car, you can find a table. Now the kicker... I eat here every 4 to 6 weeks...not enough to be recognized as a regular by the staff; but, frequently enough that I know the menu. On 8/18/25, I went for lunch. There was a new bartender/server behind the bar. I asked her if she was new as I hadn't seen her in the restaurant before. Her attitude was a combination of nonchalance, cultural arrogance, and deferred service. I had to wait over 5 minutes (yes, I timed it) between getting a menu and drink and having her return to ask - yes, ask - if I was ready to order...not, "may I take your order" ... all the while chatting with the chef and sucking on a straw in a styrofoam cup full of something - in full view of bar customers. As I placed my order, I asked a question about the price of an extra side since it wasn't on the menu and got "I think its $$$" ... not a definitive answer & they lost out on some additional $$ as I really wanted a side of red beans & rice to accompany my shrimp creole. Here's the kicker....this person took it upon herself to alter the amount of the tip that I left on my check. She rounded it up to almost double and to make it a round amount to her benefit. I'll be calling this fraud to the attention of my card issuer and directly to the restaurant. UPDATE - after informing ownership of the issue, a more than generous "make good" was given without solicitation. Going back...yeah, probably. Staying if I see this employee - definitely not.

Yelp
Incredible service and amazing food! My wife and I had the pleasure of being served by Emily, and she made our experience at Charlie's Creole Kitchen unforgettable. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about every dish on the menu. We ordered the Rockefeller oysters, boudin balls, etouffee, and a classic shrimp boil--and every bite was perfection. The oysters were fresh and perfectly broiled, the boudin balls were crispy on the outside and full of flavor inside, and the etouffee was rich and comforting. The shrimp boil? Absolute fire. Loaded with seasoning and served piping hot. Emily checked on us at just the right times, made great drink recommendations, and had that rare mix of professionalism and personality that really elevates a meal. If you're headed to Charlie's, ask for Emily--you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Cajun cheese fries 5/5 Jambalaya 3/5 - the rice and sausage were flavorful but the chicken was a little dry for me. Étouffée 3.5/5 - good flavor but the crawfish didn't taste very fresh to me Cheesy pasta 2/5 - I know it's a kids dish but I expected it to be a little more flavorful. It was really bland and my kid only took a few bites of it. Service 5/5 - our server was quick to bring our food and checked on us. The place is casual and it was easy for us to find seating. Street parking in front and back but was full so we parked a block away.

Yelp
Food was amazing, and the service was great. Staff was so professional and welcoming. The blackened catfish was a hit and highly recommended. This will be my go to place for blackened catfish from now on.

Yelp
Crab Cakes taste like stuffing with no crab. Flounder stuffed with crab was great. The crab was good a not like a stuffing. grits was perfect. Crab claws was great Jambalaya was ok . This place is for your older crowd 50 an up.

Yelp
first of all, our server, Emily was absolutely wonderful. She was so patient as hubby made up his mind. I had fried oysters, which were absolutely perfect, correct size, perfect breading, hot, and crisp. hubby had the fried catfish and fried shrimp combo. More food than one person needs to eat. I didn't care for the coleslaw, it was way way too spicy. But as far everything else is concerned , this is my go to place for fried oysters.

Yelp
1) Boiled Crawfish looked a promising bright red. Pull the tail from the body. Shuck the shell of the tail off to get to the fibrous meat flavoured with piquant, aromatic Cajun-Créole boil mix. A section of corn on the cob & red new potatoes as accompaniments.  I like eating the yellowish-brown "butter" from the head, but found it for the most part tasted stale. Perhaps the crawfish was frozen which is detrimental to the delicate crawfish butter.   Or the Boiled Crawfish had been cooked earlier and had been reheated hours if not a day later which allows the butter to lose its freshness. Anyway, it didn't have the superior flavour of what can be found in New Orleans or West Feliciana Parish.   2) 1/2 Crawfish Étouffée , 1/2 Fried Crawfish:  Excellent, fried, sweet, fibrous crawfish tails covered with what may be corn starch created an Italian fritti like lightness & subtle crispiness. French fries were equally well finished. Must eat them soon to retain that exemplary just fried liveliness.  Étouffée sauce has a buttery, golden reddish, brown tone. Smoothness comes from the toasted, brown roux. May be red mostly from tomato sauce. Just a touch of Cajun-Créole spice blend. If there were any Cajun-Créole Mirepoix of onions, celery, bell pepper, it was finely food processed.  Soupçon of chicken broth to round out and give Umami to the thickened sauce. This version has flavours which are understated & subtle, but can be considered bland by some.  Rice acts as a barrier between the fried items from the Étouffée sauce.  Small, toasted white french bread to sop up the sauce.  The Cole Slaw was sweetened vinegar based with pronounced herbal french thyme, mixture of cabbage and what may be red bell pepper which was supposed to be a palate cleanser between bites of the Étouffée. Problem was its extreme, hyper saltiness which negated its role in refreshing the palate.  1-2a) Abita Purple Haze Lager Raspberry Lager was thirst quenching and had a light fruitiness which was especially appropriate for some of the saltiness that was encountered.  Service here is perfunctory. Not unfriendly, but disinterested. Passing the time and doing just enough to get by. There wasn't any "Laissez les bons temps rouler." joie de vivre at Charlie's Créole Kitchen. The food has its ups and downs.  3- stars for mediocre food & service.

Yelp
just moved around these parts so I came here to try out a neighborhood spot and get some crawfish. I'd go again IF I was super hungry, it was just OK. also had gumbo (not pictured). for some reason it had a sour kind of taste -- like it had line in it.

Yelp
Fun neighborhood place with awesome Cajun food!! We tried the blackened salmon, etouffe/fried crawfish, and the "Homicide Detective" pasta. Everything was wonderful! Hot, fresh and served super quick by our friendly waitress. We ate so much we couldn't finish everything! Soooo good!

Yelp
Anyone who doesn't love this place is crazy. The ambiance is casual and relaxed. I saw notes about service, but we experienced the polar opposite. We never went a few minutes without someone checking on us. It was a team effort. We had the seafood fondue, which was AMAZING. The reason I picked this place was the crawfish monica... we have tried it multiple places and never loved it like we had in NOLA. But when they say better than jazz fest, at least I know they know why I love it. And it was delicious. We also had the shrimp po boy... the bread was amazing. I could have taken more sauce but it was great. We also did the fried catfish, shrimp and crawfish platter. Everything was perfectly cooked. Go. Run. Its a great place.

Yelp
Soooo delicious! Wish there was better parking. But the food is worth it. The seafood pasta is enough for 2, I always have leftovers! It has broccoli, zucchini, & squash. The catfish is seasoned very well. The Cajun fries were better than I thought they would be

Yelp
Start with we are very picky seafood family - overall average spot; but we realize a major neighborhood FAV for many and do not discount that - parking is great - front and back of restaurant. Lunch service was very nice - quick and attentive. We had appetizers that were ok; nothing got us excited so the fish did have fat on it which many places do - we just like it taken off and we understand it's not easy job - just had to take it off ourself. Crawfish dish was very strong fish smell - taste - cream base was good but passed to another family member to eat just too strong for overall taste. Prices are high but they do offer some lunch specials - looking around we thought should have ordered the poor boy sandwiches possibly might have been a better choice. Just not for us.

Christie H.

Yelp
Maybe we wasn't light enough, not sure but the customer service from both waitress SUCKED!

Nick B.

Yelp
Would not allow paying customers to use restroom inside. Instead had a bouncer directing to "port a potty's out back". The port a potty's were in the parking lot behind the bar next door with a long line. My wife and I had already ordered drinks and an appetizer but tabbed out before ordering our meals. There are a lot of good restaurants in this area. Please don't waste your time or money at this restaurant that doesn't value its customers. To not allow paying customers to use the restrooms is not fair to your customers regardless of what day of the year it is. Understandable to not allow just anyone to walk in and use your facilities, but to shut them off to your customers is the opposite of customer service and therefore deserving of a negative review. This is not a negative review of the staff, but a negative review of the ownership.

Yelp
I've only been here once but I'm excited to go back. The smells alone are worth it. Everything here tasted awesome - make sure you go very hungry. You won't be bummed!

Yelp
Great drinks and atmosphere. Appetizers were well priced and great tasting(Onion rings, fried shrimp, and stuffed peppers). We watched a couple games before leaving for the day. Friendly servers helped make the day for us.

Yelp
Really good Cajun food in lower Greenville. We started with the boudin balls and tamales. The boudin balls were a good size and came with a mustard based sauce. The tamale was stuffed with seafood and deep fried, I like this better than the boudin balls but both were good. I enjoyed the seafood platter- catfish, crawfish, shrimp and a crabbed stuffed shrimp. The batter had great flavor and everything was fried to perfection. Great options. I subbed the fries for dirty rice and I made the right choice. The rice is packed with flavor and one of the best I've had.

Hailey F.

Yelp
Really good food with quick service. Their house dressing is really good, and I also really enjoy the crawfish Monica.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor & Don't waste your time or your money! The first time I tried this restaurant was maybe back in 2018/2019 & I remember feeling like I had a positive experience, specially because of my excitement for what seemed to be a decent option to finding something close to authentic New Orleans food. Being a NOLA native myself, I always said that I would definitely be back to visit this place and was so excited to one day introduce this place to others. Fast forward, I finally decided to re-visit this place again years later, & I even brought some of my favorite New Orleans natives with me because I was really expecting the same great experience from before. To my surprise, our experience was completely different than what I had previously experienced and unfortunately for me I had overhyped the experience for my guest. This place was extremely disappointing for everyone in my party. We went on a Sunday, which is a busy day for that area. We thought the restaurant was packed because of the full parking lot, however everyone must've been elsewhere as it was pretty dead inside the restaurant. We were advised to seat ourselves, which we did. The restaurant itself is dingy & and we immediately noticed the saucers and silverware weren't clean. But even still, everyone knows sometimes the best restaurants are the holes in the walls, so we decided to stay. The food is not good, at all. Two of us ordered roast beef po-boy sandwiches that came with a side of fries and onion rings, fully dressed. First of all, they used sliced roast beef deli meat, and instead of an au jus sauce, they provided a thick brown sauce that they referred to as gravy. If you've ever had an authentic roast beef po-boy, you'll understand why this is a big No No. They probably need to rename it as a "roast beef sandwich" on the menu because it's definitely not a po-boy. The worst part was that myself and my other guest who ordered the same dish both fell ill with food poisoning later that evening and two days later, we are still trying to recover! My other guest ordered the catfish with red beans, and advised their fish was severely under-seasoned, but mediocre at best. Their side of red beans was supposed to include smoked sausage and they never found not even one piece of meat. They also fell ill immediately after leaving the restaurant. To put the icing on the cake, this establishment has an additional service charge if you wish pay with a card, as cash is preferred. So for all 3 meals with the tip, everything came to $94. To avoid the additional service fee I paid in cash, & it was directly handed to the waitress. However, for some reason on the way out of the door we were flagged down by the owner/manager and questioned about paying the tab before leaving, as it was apparently still showing open on her end. Had we been of a different ethnicity, this question probably wouldn't have been asked. It would've been much more professional, had the owner/manager checked with the waitress before hounding us down on the way out of the door. Overall, our experience was horrible, and we will never return to or recommend this place to anyone else ever again. Being a native of New Orleans, this place is not representative of authentic New Orleans food.

Debi P.

Yelp
Muffuletta not the best and not like NOLA. My husband was more pleased with his oysters.
google avatar

Josh P.

Yelp
So this was our first time here. When you first walk in, you are greeted with a great atmosphere, like in New Orleans. The food was just delicious. The Cajun tamales were a first, and I have to say they were just excellent. The crab meat and the spice of the jalapeño, I thought, was a great combo, and the batter was good too, not soggy, just crisp. The boudin balls were good; they had a nice flavor to them. The catfish, I thought, was cooked great, the batter was well seasoned, and the fish was nice and hot loved it. The coleslaw was an exciting taste with all the seasoning in it. It was pretty good. Overall the service was great staff was attentive. Well, I will be back to try more food. I have to say I am content, terrific.

Michelle K.

Yelp
How can I give 0 stars?? We wanted to try a new place and made a bad decision coming here. One of the worst experiences I have ever had eating out! First - I have had authentic creole food from New Orleans and this place is a fraud! The jambalaya we ordered came out all stuck together looking like it had been sitting in a pot in the back all day. Not fresh at all, mushy and ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR! We send it back to the kitchen and then we're told that it can't be removed from our bill because we said we didn't like it and we didn't say anything was wrong with it. Supposedly this is their new rule that you have to say something is wrong with it to get it removed from the bill Ummmm anyone with eyes can see that was not fresh and could be made better by an amateur. The fact that you have a rule about how a customer has to word something when sending food back already tells me this is a trending issue in your restaurant! Probably means your food quality needs to be reassessed! When a customer sends something back to the kitchen - proper service is to ask if we want it replaced or just removed from the bill. We were asked if we wanted it replaced but after tasting the sub par catfish (again no flavor), canned red beans, we definitely didn't want to suffer through anymore food. Is this place actually out here charging for food that people don't like, is not fresh and fraudulently claimed to be creole?? Wow! It was claimed that no manager was on duty but I could call him if I wanted to - LMAO! A manager should always be on duty to resolve escalated issues. This place is so over hyped and the service is cringe at best. No utensils were given - had to ask for it, no one came to check on us after our food came out, FOOD WAS A SORRY EXCUSE FOR CREOLE! Don't waste your time coming here! Tip: Some of the best Lousiana food here in Dallas is at the The Daiquiri Shoppe on Pioneer Pkwy! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Love this place! Good Creole food. My favorites are chicken and sausage gumbo, soft shell crab po boy, and blackened chicken po boy. The half size po boy is about a regular sandwich. I only order the full if I am REALLY hungry. Their Cajun fries are AMAZING!!!

Yelp
Whether i walk in or order online, Charlie's has always been a hit with me! My fave is the Crawfish Monica....so filling and creamy and delicious....i absolutely love it. I always request extra sauce....cause yeah, its that good. Service is wonderful, they always take care of my extra requests in my online orders. Will be back again soon!

Yelp
Hole in the wall spot right on Knox Henderson. Ambiance - 3/5. No frills. Exactly what you expect. Service - 3/5. We went on Fat Tuesday so I'm not sure it's a fair assessment, but didn't have the best service. They were running around trying to keep things afloat. I think the most notable thing was that I noticed employees fighting or getting mad at one another in front of customers - pretty awkward. Food - 4/5. Crawfish Etouffee was great. Big potion and comes with bread. Good flavor and not too spicy. My husband got a pound of crawfish - and it was pretty small. Doesn't come with any potatoes or corn. I'd say it's not worth it.

Yelp
Best gumbo - the chicken and sausage is delicious. Also, the stuffed mushrooms are insane. Must must try!

Yelp
I have been going to Charlie's for over 30 years, back when it was called Dodie's. It has it all. Great food, great service, ice cold beer, always very clean, and laid back atmosphere. Me and my brothers would usually take my dad there for his birthday or father's day. I went there last week and had the muffuletta. It was awesome. My daughter had the fish tacos. she was very happy she ordered them. They were very good and with generous portions of fish. I'm looking forward to going again soon.

Kiona W.

Yelp
The food is alway delicious when my family and I come here. The picture I took doesn't do any justice. You can sit where ever you want. The service is always friendly. I most definitely recommend this place.

Emily W.

Yelp
As someone born and raised in Louisiana, I'm somewhat of a tough critic of cajun food and I know it can be hard to find in Dallas. Some places just can't get it right. But, I had the "Crawfish Monica (Better Than Jazzfest)" and it was delicious! Jazzfest is known for the Crawfish Monica and this was just as tasty. Salad was good too. Liked the vibes in there. Happy with my experience. Would eat again!

Frederick C.

Yelp
Last night we celebrated a birthday with about 16 people. The waitress was amazing, was able to get our orders out and fresh. The food was amazing. I have recommended this place to the world, truly love it. Hats off to our waitress. Be back soon. Thanks

Oprah B.

Yelp
The service was weird. Our waitress was great but the bartender was rude because we requested new drinks after we tried them and they were flat... The food was okay but not worth the poor customer service..

Yelp
The foods are all good. The service was okay. The restaurant has a New Orleans ambiance.

Yelp
This was my first time at Charlie's Creole Kitchen and i was pleasantly surprised! From the initial look, I thought it was going to a lot of fried bar food. And although there was a lot of fried options, I was still able to taste the actual fish or food under the batter. It was well seasoned and flavored. I was really happy with the crawfish etouffee. There was a lot of crawfish in and the the sauce with the rice paired very well. The fried oysters were juicy and plump! The fried cat fish was big and you could actually taste the fish! The seas food gumbo unfortunately was just ok and wasn't anything unique. The fried green tomatoes were also okay but didn't really stand out.

Yelp
First time here! We came a little late, near closing time. We were still taken care of and enjoyed our meal. The environment is casual. For appetizers we tried the the crab cakes, which were decently sized and priced, and my husband got raw oysters. He never had oysters before and the staff was helpful with suggestions for all of our questions. I added some of their house made spicy pepper sauce which was in bottles on the table with my crab cake along with the creamy dipping sauce they provided. I think it brought the whole thing together and I enjoyed the flavor, it was sweet and spicy with a touch of smoky chipotle. For entrees we both ordered items from the specials list. I got a blacked salmon dish and my husband got a crab po boy. The fish was cooked to perfection and flavorful. I did ask for their mashed potatoes as a substitute for the garlic rice that comes with the dish and I was given a nice large portion which was served with cheese on top. I have been to NOLA and I found the taste of the po boy to be authentic in flavor and style. We both really liked everything we ordered. There are some really good choices on this menu and it was hard to decide. We are both excited to go back and try more options. Despite being too full for dessert, we did order key lime pie to-go.
google avatar

Vashti T.

Yelp
I would really like to give at least 4 stars because the food was on point but the service was HORRIBLE!! & really I'm all about service. Honestly I was nervous about how the food was going to turn out. The ambiance wasn't great, the music was turned on until we were already there for like 30 minutes. So let me just say this, order your food to go. I ordered the NOLA Crawfish Combo - Crawfish Étouffée w/shrimp instead of crawfish tails. Also, the fried green tomatoes were FIREEE! P.S. Don't order the salad, they give you 1 small sliced tomato

Yelp
The slaw is so different but delicious. Spicy and crunchy !!! Absolutely delicious!!!! Waiting on the catfish now!pictures to follow

Yelp
I got sick from eating the soft shell crab. I ate one of two. I told the waitress they were nasty, and she replied, "I'll tell the chef." She didn't offer to not charge me or reduce my bill. Me and a dining companion also noticed a price difference between the menu and our bill. Waitress told us there's a $3 charge for substitutions. I didn't see that anywhere on the menu. I may have missed it, but even if so, that's an outrageous amount to swap their nasty coleslaw for a salad. I won't be going back.

Theresa C.

Yelp
Came on Friday night, they were busy, but did not hesitate to acccomdate us! Very pleased with food! Chargrilled oysters were bomb, and the seafood fondue. My Husband and I are Catholic so Friday we don't eat meat. We will be back! Plenty of seafood options!

Yelp
Popped in on a random Saturday, looking for an alternative to Pappadeaux. We ordered the Cajun tamales, crab claws seafood pasta, and fried shrimp. I lived in south Louisiana for a period of time and like to think of myself as sort of a creole food expert. To start, the coleslaw, it isn't mayo based (they do note that on the menu)- it's pickled. It had a very sharp taste, slight unbearable. The shrimp is fried with a corn meal batter, not my personal preference, but it was slightly seasoned with a lemon pepper seasoning, NOT creole like you'd expect. The salad, honest lettuce with dressing, was pretty lack luster and came straight from the fridge. The seafood pasta was completely bland and lacking flavor. The crawfish tails were over cooked to the point that it was rubbery and hard to swallow. On the upside, the crawfish tamales were pretty good. Maybe, it was so spicy that flavor is hard to achieve, but there was enough crab in the inside and it was fried really well. Lastly, I order the crab claws. They were a solid 4/10. The meat was cooked the right amount of time, however everything was DROWNING in butter. So much so, that you can taste the milk solids. The inside of the restaurant looks like if a diner and a creole restaurant had a baby. Nothing too crazy. The service was cool, a lot of people came after us and you could tell they couldn't keep up. Others didn't get as much as a dedicated service as us. However, there doesn't seem to be more than 3 people working the waitstaff. If you're looking for a cool place, they definitely had the air conditioning freezing. Overall, I wasn't a fan of this place and I don't think there were enough redeeming qualities for me to come back.

Yelp
The food at this restaurant was so good! Fried oysters in jalapeño sauce was amazing! I ordered the blackened catfish and shrimp but they forgot the shrimp. They fixed the issue right away and brought me a side of shrimp. The service was great, I hope to come back to this place soon.

Yelp
I was sorely disappointed in the charbroiled oysters. The butter was barely melted which made the garlic overwhelming

Yelp
I can't get enough of this place. The boiled crawfish are spectacular. When I walk in I hear the Cheers theme song "sometimes you wanna go, where everybody knows your naaaame". They know my name here now. I even come get crawfish mid week. If you aren't a boiled crawfish fanatic like me, you can still enjoy everything else on the menu. It's all good!

Yelp
Went for lunch and did not dissapoint. I love the house dressing offered on the salads and the stuffed crab on the Urban Lunch was flavorful, tender, and just good! I like the way they do their fries as well, crispy and not soggy. Service was excellent and friendly. Great music too. Will definitely be back as it's a great spot 3 min away from our house.

Yelp
I love a good etoufee, gumbo, creole and frankly, most anything with rice. I found this place by searching cajun in yelp and it wasn't too far from where I was and the pictures looked amazing so I made my way. I'd arrived right after lunch hours (3:00pm) and was told to sit anywhere and I did. I was presented with a basket of butter and crackers to complement whatever was the be delivered later, so I appreciated that. I ended up trying a couple things and nothing really stood out to me. Honestly I remember while eating the seafood gumbo I said to myself, 'this is not that great, but I am hungry,' so I finished it. It contained oysters, which I am not a fan of, but that is a personal preference--but overall, it just didn't have that "cajun" gumbo taste. The crawfish etoufee was the biggest disappointment as it was very bland and tasted like it was out of one of those jars in the store (I've made better myself) and the fried crawfish was extremely small. The fries, french bread and fried shrimp were good though. Overall, the "soupy" type items--which is what I wanted when I walked in-- just lacked everything. I may return for fried items and the description of the blackened Salmon sounded good, but we will see.

Yelp
Service is great. Quick and attentive. My husband and I ordered the Cajun tamales, Crawfish poboy, and blackened catfish with crawfish etouffee and dirty rice. We were amazed with how great the food was! Cajun tamales is basically a fried jalapeño popper stuffed with crab. It is a MUST! Definitely returning!!!

Yelp
I had high hopes for some good Cajun food. Mardi Gras and all. I'm dumbfounded. As a Decorated Chef, Former instructor a Le Cordon Bleu...I don't know what I ate. It wasn't Cajun/nor Creole, pot cooking. From the canned soup base for the gumbo (it was the color of campbells bean soup), maybe Eckeridge sausage ( chicken and sausage gumbo), tge rue definitely was undercooked, to the jambalaya I was absolutely dumbfounded that they had the audacity to call this cajun/creole cooking. Sterile, had the odor of canned Campbell's bean soup.
