Charlotte Patisserie

Recently spent a night in Brooklyn and happened upon this delightful patisserie. To start, the cakes are exquisitely beautiful. We got several to sample, and each was an amazing balance of tastes and textures. The double chocolate and hazelnut chocolate cakes were divine, fluffy mousse and tender cake made these the favorites. The chocolate raspberry cake, black currant cake, and raspberry creme brulee were not far behind--a surprise since I generally am not a creme brulee fan. Fresh, tart, and creamy (apologies for the photo, couldn't wait to start the taste test!) The lovely lady who helped us was super informative and kind, wonderful customer service. Literally considering moving to Brooklyn to be near this place. Do yourself a favor and visit soon!

Excellent mini desserts especially the duet (5/5) and the pistachio mango mousse mini cake (5/5)! The duet is a perfect symphony of sweet, luscious chocolate mousse with a crunchy hazelnut layer - really well executed and perfect. The pistachio cake was also delicious - very fresh and fruity with the mango and excellent pistachio cake as well.

The cakes here are divine. I picked a couple up for my birthday and enjoyed every bite. Wonderful vibrant flavors and elegant presentation. This is Michelin star quality at an affordable price.

This is one of my favorite bakeries in the area. One of their signatures is “the duet” which is a chocolate, white chocolate and hazelnut cake. It’s got a mousse portion and the hazelnut crunch is top tier. They have one of my favorite red velvet cakes as well. The topping is a cream cheese frosting which is the perfect blend of tart but sweet. They have little crumbles on it. It’s such a good pick me up if I’m having a bad day. I could go on and on about this bakery. They have morning pastries that I love as well. Honestly anything and everything here is so good. When the weathers good, it’s so nice to sit in their outdoor space too!

Their desserts are always fresh and delicious. The service and prices are good. They also have a dessert called Romantica that I've never seen anywhere else and it is delicious 😋 Besides everything I mentioned above, they also have great decorations which change with seasons and special occasions, such as Valentine's Day. Update 2/11/24: Charlotte Patisserie is as wonderful now as it was when I first visited. Their prices remain reasonable and their desserts delicious. The other day I bought The Pistachio Tongues and a Galette and both my mom and I agreed that they were amazing. Their decorations are still beautiful.

The pastries are delicious. Coffee is excellent. The food is very tasty, if you wonna do breakfast or lunch you will not be disappointed or leave hungry. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You feel welcome as soon as you enter.

Cute little patisserie, all their desserts looked very standard but cute none the less. We got a lemon tart to split and it was pretty good, although I couldn't really taste the lemon. The crust and cream were pretty good though. They also had much more seating in the back than I thought there would be.

I passed this place a few times and always thought it looked cute. I was craving a croque monsieur/madame randomly and this place came up - so this was my chance to go. Cute fast casual place with pretty pastries. A nice place to grab a smaller/mid bite and relax. I liked my croque madame. I will say, it came with a burnt potato on the side. Maybe iam low class trash, but I ordered it with a side of home fries and it came with like a burnt baked potato looking thing on the side. When in Rome I guess. But this place is still cute and Iam excited to come back to try the other pastries. Prices are mid range.

This place is consistently good for all your pastry cravings, especially their croissants! My staple order is one plain croissant for my coworker, and a chocolate croissant for me comes out to $7.75. I'm literally in here once a week; every two weeks tops. I would really love to eat in here one day when I don't have to run to work, to just sit in the back at a table and have a latte and chill. The vibe is very welcoming, relaxing, and very family friendly due to the amount of kiddos I've seen over the years getting their sugar morning fit. This Polish run business is very friendly, warm, and bubbly. There's always a line of 2-3 people whenever I come, so business is doing well. My chocolate croissant is always fluffy, buttery, and crispy with a ribbon of chocolate in the middle of the croissant pillow. I can't NOT get this!

I walked here from my hotel in Williamsburg. It's on a cute little block of boutique style shops and restaurants. Super quaint like a little French coffee pastry shop on a corner in Paris. So good. My food was freaking delicious!!! I got the avocado toast and the bacon Gruyère quiche. OMG. I got two things because I wasn't sure if the quiche would be good and I also didn't know if it would be filling. I Completely devoured them both!!! First of all, my avocado toast was topped with tomato, little fried onions (the kind you buy for salads), cheese and radish. Soooooo delicious!! The quiche was a nicely slice piece of heaven. Both came with a tossed little mixed greens salad. Negative. The staff could work on being a bit more friendly I believe. They weren't warm at all. I did not feel welcomed but thought maybe it was a language barrier. But then I thought how are they getting coffee barista style orders right it that was the case. I poured my sugar into my coffee and the whole dang on lid fell in the cup! The only real emotion I got was when the two working women there laughed with each other that it fell in the cup. Smh.

Small cafe with really amazing mousse cakes(?) We ordered five different ones and I can say we enjoyed all of them. It depends on your preference if you like something more rich and chocolatey or light and fruity. The cafe hostess/barista/cashier was really friendly and warm. She was quick with our orders and even when things got a little busy she was never once rude or annoyed. Everyone loved what they got and bought seconds for take away. I want to go back already.

Cute little spot that we stumbled upon on the walk from the metro to the water. I got a lemon tart and it was the perfect two bites. Not to sweet but that really natural tasting lemon flavor.

I thought this place isn't existed anymore. The address # isn't there. If you're looking for this cafe, you'll need to find a pink bench outside. Inside is very warm, not cozy at all. You can find a place to be seated. Cases are so delicious. Clean and friendly workers. A large bathroom is available. I highly recommended here. It's walking distance from the subway G. (1.5blocks) you won't be disappointed esp for cake fun! :)

I just came by to have some afternoon dessert. It is a small shop on the block that can't be easily missed. My friend and I got Pistachio Tongue ($4) and Tea Cake ($7). I highly recommend the tea cake. It is filled with macadamia nuts and salted caramel. The flavor is marvelous! The pistachio one is too sweet for me. The texture is good though. The space is small and there are limited seating inside. It is quiet in the afternoon and good for friends to have some tea time together. I would come back to try the brunch next time.

Came here to pick up some pastries so I didn't actually dine in. They have a quaint outdoor space in the back, if you were looking for a quiet space to work or catch up with a friend. Their menu offerings are overpriced, in my opinion. It really depends on what you get. If you are looking for a tiny sweet hit with your coffee, you may be able to walk away satisfied. Their larger pastries are priced in the $7-$8 range and their smaller pastries are around $4-$6. I got their cheesecake and a meringue dessert(they didn't have a name for it. Or maybe I didn't catch it). The cheesecake had a yuzu type glaze on it. I liked the meringue dessert the best. The highlight was the to-go mulled wine. It was perfectly spiced, the right temperature for the weather we were in today. By all means get their coffee, but the mulled wine was a star. I'll be back for the mulled wine. But probably not for their pastries.

I really enjoyed this place! The patisserie has a solid selection--not massive, but enough to not get bored. I wish I remembered what I got, but all I can remember is that it had fruit (so get those pastries). The coffee was also pretty good, and the decor inside felt fancy without being stuffy or uncomfortable. I definitely suggest you visit if you're around or want an easy, nice second date spot.

I live nearby and have been coming to Charlotte's since it opened. It's reliably excellent coffee (both their cold brew and hot coffee) and the ambiance is very pleasant. I frequently do a solo brunch here and grab either the pancakes or a club sandwich and read. When it's nice outside, the back garden is wonderful to sit in. While I don't often get sweets, I have had the carrot cake and some of the other delectable pastries and they are exceptional. Hands down one of my favorite spots in Greenpoint.

We had the Duet and Vanilla Blackcurrant pastries. Both had good flavors. Unfortunately there is no working public bathroom. This is unacceptable for a cafe. Coffee and tea are diuretics, especially when taken in the morning. Seating is plentiful but you won't be able to stay long. The bathroom is labeled as "employee only", perhaps the owner doesn't want to bother maintaining it for customer usage. Should the owner provide a customer bathroom, I would be inclined to rate the patisserie higher.

At first glance, this place is a hole in the wall. You may miss it the first time but the second time, the coffee smell will make your head turn that way. I am very happy it did. I've been in New York for about three days now and coffee has not been great. This place has the good stuff. I got a matcha and my partner had an americano with an extra shot. I could smell his coffee from where he was standing. It was strong and bold. I love my matcha too. The matcha power is NOT sweetened. Thank goodness for that because I feel like presweetened matcha is too sweet. The environment is excellent for working and studying or just eat delicious pastries. They were colorful and delightful.

Keeping up with the changing of the guard in Greenpoint from the old Polish dominated restaurants and bakeries and the new sweeping move of a new generation of Manhattanites making their way over to turn this once quiet treasure into the latest, trendiest spot, so comes one of the most refreshing gems of a bakery into the hood. Charlotte's is exactly what this neighborhood had long needed and long craved, a house of confectionery delights and sweets of every flavor and color. It's more than just pretty pastries in the window, it's a true artistry of baking perfection. I'm not a sweets person, but my husband is ... so when his lights light up and then he walks away with a satisfying smile and hum, I know we found a new spot to come back to. Great selection of cakes and desserts.

The pastries were delicious. I mean truly delicious! The young woman working the counter however was as rude as members of a certain type of the old school Greenpoint resident population can be and then some. Otherwise I would go back in a heartbeat and recommend it to all. But as it stand probably not or nie, dziękuję.

This place has great pastries and salad, and great coffee as well. However, even for the neighborhood they are insanely expensive. Plus, I know they're supposed to be famous for their croissants, but I tried the almond one and it was nothing special. They're fine in a pinch, but there are much more affordable options in the area.

I ordered for a friday brunch, the croque madam and a vanilla iced latte. The croque madam came with a side option of fries or salad. I got the fries, which were thin and light and crunchy! The croque madam was a substantial size and had a lovely browned layer of cheese over the top, with a hearty ham and cheese filling in rye bread. My only wish is the egg on top was actually runny. The iced latte was made well. Overall was a great brunch option and I would order it again!

I walked in here and was quite happy with the selection. There were so many choices behind the refrigerated glass, but I being one person decided it probably would be best to not order more than 1 sweet. The creme brulee caught my eye and I merrily went with that one. However, I was a bit disappointed with it. It was pretty much frozen, to the extent I might as well be eating ice cream. It was also really heavy creamy that after a while I just stopped eating it. I think if shared with another person and less frozen it could've been a nice dessert. I also ordered a cold brew, and I thought that was pretty good. Overall seemed like a nice place and I would be willing to give the other desserts another try.

Super tasty! There's seating in the back, attentive staff and overall very charming. The food is delicious, and the coffee is very good. Next time we go back the plan is to try their pastries which look super tempting and all with no calories! #iwish

Peaceful back garden space. Delish cuisine and lovely staff. This place hits a home run in my ballpark. That means they knock it out of the macaren park when it comes to places for breakfast. I am a completely satisfied customer.

Went into court street store with my 5 years old granddaughter. I have been going there with her the past two years and whenever she had to use the restroom it was never a problem until today. The store clerk refused to allow her to use the bathroom and lied stating that they haven't let anyone use the bathroom since COVID started. We spoke to the manager/owner (?) at the Greenpoint store who proceeded to tell us the same fictitious story about COVID. She told my husband that it is not a public restroom, which we understood and said this is the law, but considering that it's a five year old, they should show some compassion. It was not a derelict off the street. The owners response was very cold and insensitive. We always purchase something whenever we go into the store.

Hands down, best cafe in Brooklyn. I'll say it. Don't even want to because I don't want you people to find out about it. But credit is frickin due. I've been coming to this place for the past two years and it ceases to amaze me in the pool of closures and yuppie scum overrated cafes that no one has incarcerated this bad boy. From the ridiculously large backyard I yearn to stroll up and lay out this summer in, to being able to drink a mimosa or glass of wine in a very nonpretentious cafe setting that makes day drinking acceptable while working freelance from my computer until 8pm.. absolute perfection. I lean towards the non-pastry life but everything looks remarkable and obnoxiously unnaturally colored in the best way possible standing true to the gpoint polish bakery lifestyle. Their normal food menu is wonderful offering things like a quinoa bowl as well as veggie burger which to me is unheard of outside of the usual carb centered cafe menus in the area that are also typically delivered and fairly mediocre. Truly a gem. Don't ruin it chump.

Lovely pastries and excellent cappuccino. The little outside seating area is charming. A bit pricey- 5 pasteries and 4 drinks to go were $50. But it's clean and has very friendly staff

I return from my Yelp hiatus to give what might be my new favorite bakery 5 stars. This is where I'd take out-of-town friends to brag about NYC baked goods. Croissant - tastes like France - 5/5. Raisin bun - decadent, somewhat unique, fun to "peel" off pieces, not to be missed - 5/5. Scone - is there such thing as a "light" scone? This had a downright delicate crumb. Not too sweet or too buttery or too dense or too anything. 5/5. All three treats, shared amongst two of us, made for the perfect trio. A perfect order always makes me proud. Entirely reasonable prices, as three pastries plus a cold brew and a tea came out to under $15. Charlotte: Je t'aime!

Good selection of desserts. Got the tea cake and the romantica. The romantica is very sweet. I wish there was a better ratio of meringue and cream (it was heavier on the cream). The tea cake is delicious!

I'm sure this place is great and the pastries are good, but I wasn't impressed during my trip yesterday. I was debating whether to get a pastry or coffee, and decided, as a currently breastfeeding mom, to try their very good lactation cookie. It was $4 and the cookie was maybe slightly bigger than a chips-a-hoy cookie (aka tiny, especially for the price). For something so small, they shouldn't be charging as much as they are. I also didn't feel like it benefitted my supply at all. Other things at this location might be more worth it, and the pastries did look delicious. I think this place would be worth a try and if I do, I'll update this review. I asked for a cup of water from the counter (where the coffee is) and the person wouldn't even give me a cup of water even if there was a stack of cups back there. The cashier also just seemed very confused.

Don't count on them for birthday cakes. They informed me 4 hours before I was supposed to pick up a confirmed order, that they wouldn't have it. Their solution was for me to pay by the slice, which would have cost $60 - TWICE the cost of cake. Capitalism at its best!

Just so you know I'm a stickler for professionalism and pleasantries. Here's a friendly reminder to CP y'all gotta do better. I'm entering your business which means I, me, Brie, the customer should be greeted. I'm contributing to paying off your expenses. When you think about it like that y'all should go out of your way to pay attention to customers and greeting them. I didn't want to spend my money here based off of the interaction I didn't receive.

Still the only pastry shop I will go to! What more can you ask for: Sweets: Check Coffee: Check Food: Check Wine: Check Check!! Great Staff: Check Check Check!!! Honestly I love this place because the tarts, cakes are not over sweet as in other places-- Chief Michael bakes everything to perfection where you can actually taste the flavors such as passion fruit, raspberry, chocolate, vanilla, etc. They aren't masked by sugar. Everything here is delicious and savory and mouthwatering food!! The cafe is very cozy and quiet and personal. I love coming here for a bite or a get together with a friend to catch up. If you are in the area it's a must go to place.

As good as it gets !! Am so happy that Polish businesses are still going strong in a turning Greenpoint, and this place is a definite one to support. The coffee is always *on* point and my go-to, the chocolate croissant is FLAKY SOFT PERFECTION with yummy chocolate filling. NO denying this place is a gem. Also, their bakery is in-house! So lovely to support this yummy food and coffee and pastries, and the best part is that the staff is so so so warm, and friendly. Again, it always feels good to support this place, and it's deliciously rewarding, too!

When our usual bakery wasn't available to make a cake for my brothers birthday party, we chose Charlotte Patisserie after having randomly walked by on our way to check out the party venue. Magda was a great help. When one of our initial cake choices wasn't available, she worked with us to make sure we had options and the right amount of cake for our guests. We went with the Duet and the Extravaganza. Both cakes were delicious and enjoyed very much by our guests. Definite hits. Their mini pastries and croissants are good too.

Great pastries, bad meals. I've only had a sit down meal twice but both times have been disappointing. This last time they served me a $9 tuna sandwich with a laughable amount of tuna inside (see photo!) , a dressing-less pile of arugula as a "side salad", and during my meal, they cleaned the table next door with windex which wafted over to my table and my food. The sandwich itself was pretty meh. When I showed my server the sandwich, she gave me a knowing "sorry" but didn't say anything more. You're better off grabbing a deli sandwich and eating in the park if you ask me.

Cute little Polish owned French legit patisserie shop. Had two tarts & two diff flavor eclairs & the eclairs were outstanding. Prices are pretty reasonable but the service is individually focused as only one server was at counter on Sat night which makes it slow but at least no rush when you're ordering & no attitude. It's a pay at counter & sit wherever u want place so this could b a good or bad thing depending on one's preference. I personally prefer to order at counter & not b bothered by a waiter. Overall, love the place itself & pastries. Bathrooms are an ugly sight & could use the well known Polish nice interior decoration touch. Enjoy!

Stopped in for coffee and couldn't resist sampling the pastries - I really enjoyed the almond croissant, pain au chocolat and raspberry tart. The raspberry tart tasted super fresh and the pain au chocolat had a great chocolate-to-pastry ratio. Prices were also reasonable for the area. I'm looking forward to coming back to pick up breakfast to enjoy in McCarren Park when the weather warms up!

This was delicious and they offered several gluten free substitutions and options for weekend brunch. Plus our waitress Toni was knowledgeable and excellent

I've been here for coffee before but in my last visit, I tried the mulled wine they were advertising. Who can turn down mulled wine? It took a while to come since they forgot to put in my order (my only complaint since I had an appointment I needed to make and stopped here to kill time before), but the staff was friendly and made up for the mistake. The mulled wine itself was delicious. It was very warming and nicely spiced. The price ($10) wasn't that bad either! I would definitely come back again for the mulled wine as long as they have it.

I won't be coming back. Some guy that works here hit on the person I'm dating. He asked for her number, but she did not give it. He then tracked her down on Instagram and asked her out. She blocked him. Maybe hire people that can control themselves a bit more with customers in the future. What a bad look.

This is a perfect example of what a cool little French inspired bakery should be. The selection is not huge but big enough. With all kinds of goodies. I have tried a few of the sweets and always leave impressed. All of the desserts look amazing, so it's worth coming in just to look at them. They also have food and a cool and relaxing outside patio. I've been back there before ant it's nice. Their taking bacon quiche and cold brew is also good.

In need of some food and after noticing this place and I went there before with the promise of strawberry muffins which were no longer there so I left. My more recent visit was because I was in the need to eat and didn't really know any other places around. I got the BLT with fries while the lady just got the ham and cheese croissant which she enjoyed, flaky and savory. The sandwich itself was pretty good with some nice wide pieces of bacon, every bite I had had a piece of bacon in it and adding avocado to it was a nice touch. We were pretty impressed with their backyard space as well, it was calming and pretty serene and didn't feel like we were in so many other back patios in NY that just seems like an alley. Definitely worth a visit.

Great cafe spot! Food is reasonably priced. I always get the omelet, the potatoes are great and I love that you get a salad. The pastries sell out so make sure you order as soon as possible. The chocolate croissants are amazing. I don't believe there's wifi. There's plenty of seating and a garden in the back. Just a note that the coffee is not bottomless.

I had to rate this place right away! The food is delicious! This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. First we were planning to do brunch at 5 leaves which is nearby, but the wait was so long, so instead we walked to Charlotte's and it was the best choice and experience ever. The place was busy, but we found a table in the back and sat ourselves. Once we decided what we wanted, we proceed to go to the counter and order. They don't have servers to get orders from the table, but that's not really a bummer since everything is so good, and they do bring it to you once is your order is ready! The food arrived in a good time frame, not fast nor slow... everything was rich in flavor and quality. We had a bunch of plates that you can see in the pictures I will post. I am giving them 5 stars because the service was great, and the two ladies there were nice and friendly. I would definitely come back. It was my first time and I will highly recommend this restaurant from now on. Great for brunch and lunch... served all day long!

Ordered a meal via seamless for delivery. It said 30-35 minutes. When it reached an hour and 5 minutes, I called to find out if the delivery was sent out yet. After being placed on hold a few more minutes, I was told there was a "glitch in the system," they apologized and said they'd start the order now if I still wanted it. Since I was really hungry I told them to please yes send the order. I received it at 3:50 p.m. I placed the order at 2:25 p.m. Food: ordered a tuna sandwich on a baguette with pepper jack and tomatoes. It was ok. I was hoping for a cold tuna salad like the regular kind from a deli. Didn't realize it was a tuna melt. It came with fries and they were generous with the fries so that was good. Also ordered carrot cake. It was great. I would go here for pastries but I wouldn't have them deliver lunch or dinner. They sent a complimentary raspberry tart for being late with the order. 3.5 out of 5 for the food, 1/5 for delivery. The carrot cake was actually really good tho.

Holy crap! Taken by surprise! $10 for this lovely sandwich!! So yummy and fresh! I didn't even get coffee but I'm assuming it's awesome. They have so many beautiful desserts displayed too. This is my new go-to spot. Can't wait to try more items!

I stopped here to get some pastries but had to leave before even ordering. A customer ordering at the counter and some of the staff were not wearing masks. Why do you have a sign saying masks are required but then you don't enforce them? I do not want to feel unsafe in your café.
