Charlton Arms

"A number of terraces offer lovely waterside views at this substantial pub on the banks of the River Teme. The cooking is a mixture of British and French classical recipes, with traditional and appealing options like fish & chips, fish soup and confit duck leg. These straightforward, well-priced dishes don’t disappoint and pack in plenty of flavour. Be sure to hang around for dessert, where a sticky toffee pudding is hard to resist. There are cosy bedrooms upstairs and the location is great for exploring nearby Ludlow." - Michelin Inspector

Spent a couple of days here, perfect for a birthday celebration. Great location with views over the river from the Othello room. Booked a table in the restaurant for our second night. The food was delicious, and the service was efficient. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Recommend Ludlow, full of quaint pubs, history, and the castle, which hosts some great outdoor events. If you don't stay overnight, then you must try the restaurant here. You won't be disappointed

We booked to stay at the Charlton Hotel 20 mins before we checked in. We planned to stop in Ludlow for a couple of hours and loved it so much we decided to stay a night. |We stayed in The Tempest Room which had a small terrace. Lovely room overlooking the river. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was really tasty. Everyone made us feel welcome. Breakfast was fabulous. We will be back one day. Thank you.

Visited for lunch for the first time last week and will definitely return soon. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Had a drink on the terrace overlooking the river to start. The location is excellent. Food was amazing - Souffle and Scoth Egg for starter and Cod for mains. Would highly recommend.

|It was a last minute booking and we had the twin suite. Paying upfront was no big deal as you do when you book many other places. Our main meal on Saturday evening was lovely. I had lamb and it was cooked to perfection. It was exceptional hot and hats off to the waitresses and the chef who had to work through it. Room was well equipped with coffee, tea and fridge. Air con was a wonderful surprise and much needed.|Breakfast was good, excellent poached eggs. A help yourself section to toast and cereal was fine.
