We were there to celebrate my Father-in-law's 88th birthday. The atmosphere was very inviting, relaxing, clean and comfortable. The Callahan Prime Rib was cooked to perfection. One of the best Whiskey Sours I've ever taste.

This was my first time eating here in over 30 years. It was nice to hear that they were still around despite some bumps and bruises, and I was looking forward to dining at what I thought was still a 5 star restaurant. My party had to wait a bit for our table even though we had reservations and the restaurant was not even half full. The place looked outdated and so did the restrooms. The mens room had outdated everything, sinks that looked like aluminum prison sinks, hardly any seat covers and zero paper towels (not even 2 hours later). My Niece said that the ladies room smelled like cat urine. After ordering all of our choices, the appetizers came out. Most of it was decent, but the salad was bland and so was the lobster bisque which was not even hot. Then while we were waiting for a while, our server came out to inform me that they were sold out of Swordfish. Substitute time. Then we continued to wait for a long time for our main meals. The herb crusted salmon was a little dry with very little flavor. The prime rib was good except for the fat not being cooked properly. The asparagus and cream spinach were both just average and not hot. I had a faux jito that tasted like a flat soda and had no hint of raspberry or blueberry. Lastly came the chocolate lava cake that was a little hard and tasted more like a box cake. We were all very disappointed. I for one will not be returning. I don’t mind the prices but my experience should be worth it.

It was my 1st time going there for a date night. Everything was AWESOME. Our server was Amanda... she was awesome. We had to wait a bit for our drinks but the veiw, bread and tall glasses water were satisfactory while we waited. My date and I shared the crab cake appetizer. My stuffed shrimp was on point... even the veggies that came with it were delish. My date had the salmon. He said it was good. We shared the lava cake...it was good but a bit too sweet but good. It's a shame that they are closing... I'd definitely go back. Chefs kiss. Too bad that I discovered them too late. I hear they have other locations!!!

UPDATE 2024: We came to this location as a group. We basically tried all appetizers, I highly recommend the shrimp, mango, avocado stack, is amazing. The coconut shrimps are good as well. My let down was that my steak and shrimp were a little over. I did not complain because was still flavorful. My main today was the NY strip medallion with a fruit salsa and sticky rice, that rice was extremely good. My dessert was the lava cake, that it did not ooze out like it supposed to, but it was good. The young lady who took care of us was wonderful taking care of us 12. Everyone enjoyed their food. Accommodations for us was excellent at a corner with a great view.

What a great time we had. Jane was our waitress and she was unbelievable. The GM Erin was awesome as well. Rita helped out and was attentive to detail. We had such a wonderful time overlooking the river, the food was amazing and the LAVA cake. It was a great atmosphere that was intimate and relaxing. We look forward to our next visit.

Went on Friday night for our anniversary. We made reservations a few weeks ahead. The outside and surrounding area were beautiful, right on the water. There was no wait. We were seated with a great view. Our waiter was really nice and professional. We were a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews as they were saying the food took really long to come out. We started off with 2 Vodka & Cranberry, which were decently priced and pretty well made. We ordered our entrees, and they were out in about 15 minutes. The presentation was nice, but the food was lukewarm.. For this to be a high-end restaurant, I would expect hot food, especially at the prices they charge. Everything tasted good, but it was not hot at all. The atmosphere was really nice though which kind of made up for the food. I probably wouldn't return. But the pictures we took were great!

Google
They have amazing happy hour specials The inside needs some serious upgrades and Renovations it’s a bit worn down and noticeably visible despite efforts to have you eating in the dark The food is delicious don’t get me wrong typical restaurant prices and style. I would go back to try other entrees and happy hour but i probably wouldn’t do it for birthday dinner ever again. Not until they fix it up. But a regular date night or dinner would be fine i guess. Service was a bit slow also and not sure why wasn’t extremely busy when we dined.

My Husband and I first time here and I must say, I LOVED EVERYTHING about this restaurant 🍽️ 😁. Great Customer Service when we arrived. We made Reservations. Our Waiter (Ernesto) was AWESOME. He was VERY Knowledge when it came to the food and different types of Wine. But most of all, he was very Professional. Food was DELICIOUS 😋. We definitely will be back!! Thanx for an Awesome first experience with you Folks.

Yelp
I understand why this restaurant is closing. Years ago we dined at the chart house for a post wedding dinner. This was preplanned reservations for 10 and it was a mess. My recent visit wasn't any better. as and then, and now they seem highly unorganized and unwelcoming. visit Number 2 Again, we provided information in advance for the second event that I've gone to in approximately 30 years at this restaurant and nothing had changed. Although I can say the food is decent the service is extremely poor. Just overall bad attitudes you feel like they're saying you can take your business elsewhere.

Yelp
I'm so sad this location is closing. We've been coming here for years. Last night we had one last dinner there with the family. Our server was amazing. The whole meal was a slow process but I don't think it was her fault. They were definitely short staffed. We were there for two hours but did have appetizers, soups, entrees and dessert. The food was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. No complaints. Appetizers - coconut shrimp, ahi tuna, crab cake. Soup - my clam chowder was full of clams. Much better than the lobster bisque. I had the crab stuffed shrimp with rice. I love their crab cakes! The fall vegetable rice was better than expected. The prime rib looked great and cooked to temperature. Everyone enjoyed the other dishes - Hawaiian medallions, chicken, Mac nut mahi, and shrimp pasta. The kids chicken tenders and fries were a hit. It came with a lot of chicken but it took awhile to cool down to a proper temperature. I'm going to miss this place!!!!

Yelp
Was staying in the area and decided to check it out. It was easy to get to, had ample parking, and was easy to walk in or use open table to get a table There was a good happy hour! Various options for $6, $8, $10, or $12. We were more interested in food items but we also got some of their mocktails. We tried their spinach artichoke dip, prime rib sliders, truffle fries, and crispy Asian beef sliders. The fries were my favorite. They were well seasoned, not greasy, and a sharing portion. The prime rib sliders were also good and they were served with an au jus. Spinach artichoke dip was pretty good and served with some crostini's. The crispy Asian beef sliders were interesting because they were different. The beef patties were battered and fried and had a nice slaw, reminded me of sriracha mayo. Even though we came in on a rainy day, it was still nice to sit next to the window facing the water. The windows are basically from floor to ceiling. And our server was very nice and it was quiet when we went.

Yelp
I didn't even know that the Chart House had a brunch! I was pleasantly surprised by the great options and the wonderful Sunday morning service. Tasha, our server was great. She was very personable, attentive and had great recommendations. We started with the Torched apple manhattan and the chocolate & bourbon. Both were delicious. The apple manhattan could have been more smoked, but I didn't bother asking for any adjustments to be made, I enjoyed it as it was. The chocolate and bourbon was good too and I loved the round chocolate Andy that came on the straw. It was so rich and perfectly sweet. Our appetizer was the shrimp, mango & avocado stack that came with thin chips. It was very fresh and tasty. We both had the chicken and waffles. They were good as well, the waffles were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfection. It was so nice and quiet, and the view was so beautifully serene. I would def recommend having brunch here, since a lot of people don't realize that their brunch started back up.

Yelp
Best restaurant ever/ the food was fantastic and it was the only restaurant with a place to park in Philly. I will no longer be coming to Philly since the closure.

Yelp
Food was good, service was ok...but I was shocked at how run down and dirty the place seemed. Holes in the ceiling that are covered by sheetrock. Mold and dirty carpets near the fountain. Just shocked at how it looks like this place has just been left to be run down. The food was the savior...and the view. But we won't be back unless I read there is a major renovation.

Yelp
Great service. Lovely view. Magnificent food . We had a show to get to. So we decided to stop here for dinner. What a great decision. It was easy to park... They don't have valet parking at this time because of the pandemic . We had made reservations and were seated pretty quickly . When I've come here, we only sit by the window... And it's just so beautiful outside seeing boats and the water. Our waitress Carol was magnificent . Everything was perfect and she always made sure we had our beverages . We ordered a Brie -cheese, appetizer, sizzling mushrooms, filet mignone, lobster for my friends (and I got salmon as my entree. I love my food very much . we all loved our dishes . Fresh & cooked perfectly. My salmon was SO DELICIOUS that if I had my ukulele with me, I would've played a song. A very happy love song.. A great evening, and I would love to be back again .

Yelp
I had the opportunity to have dinner here and my experience was very pleasant until I became ill as I was leaving the establishment. Not really sure what triggered the illness but I know I did not feel ill prior to my meal. Food was good. Customer service was good. Ambiance was good as well. Although, the carpet is hideous in relationship with the overall decor.

Yelp
Omg. Food was incredible. The services is premier. Ask for Julianne. The view is worth it. The lobster bisque, Caesar salad, filet. And then the ice cream ... yum. Definitely Chart House does not disappoint.

Yelp
Made reservations. Got there 30 minutes early and was seated right away. The view is why it was given 4 stars. Waitress was good. Food was just okay. Had coconut shrimp- just okay. Lobster bisque soup and Caesar salad were good. Teriyaki steak had good flavor but over cooked. Stuffed bake shrimp needed flavor. Garlic butter pasta was good. Dessert had the flight of ice cream and was good. I would only go back for drinks and the view.

Priscilla M.

Yelp
First impression the exterior windows were filthy! Alarmed me, I said oh no I hope this isn't a sign the food/environment etc will be bad. Well it turned out to be a nice experience. First time at the Philadelphia location. I've always gone to the Weehawken location. And they never disappoint. View was spectacular, service good and my food was good. Something about this location is missing. I saw the reviews, very troubling. I did not experience what others did but again something is missing. Seemed slow, drab, sad if that's a way to describe the atmosphere! Really quiet! Well not sure if I'll visit again. Think I'll visit some other restaurant venues.

Yelp
If this is the King Salmon what does the Prince look like? Chart House has decreased It's service, quality and portions. 1 hr 38 minute wait for food smh horrible

Yelp
Celebrated Father's Day at the Chart House in Philly last night. We had amazing drinks and appetizers at the bar then upstairs for our dinner which was top notch and great service!! We will definitely be back again great time!

Yelp
Great location overlooking the water and shipping channel with a view of one of the finest warships ever, the USS New Jersey BB-62. Awesome sight. The Portuguese Stew is recommended. The Prime Rib was good but the 10 ounce cut was really small; consider upsizing. My colleagues ordered Swordfish that looked good. They ran out of Yuengling beer which was a bummer and hence the three stars. Service was a bit slow and inattentive so another gig there but it could easily be four stars.

Yelp
I brought my husband here for his birthday. First this place is beautiful the whole set up and the view! BUT it was lacking service, I understand they might be low on staff maybe...it took forever to get our food even our drinks that we ordered first seemed forever. Our waitress was really nice, always came to check up on us. Drinks were delicious! We got the pomegranate mojito and the Pomegranate Martini. Food was OKAY. The best part we're the oysters. I mean I'd like to come back again but not any time soon.

Yelp
Dropped in for happy hour and could barely get the bartender's attention. The place is extremely short staffed. There's only one bartender for the entire multi-leveled restaurant. Poor guy is so frazzled. Dropping stuff rushing trying to keep on task. There's four of us and they only could afford to give us one menu to share. And then snatched it, passing it off to another party before we could take another look at it. I ordered a glass of wine and the glass is so filthy (photo attached). One person in my party never received their drink and all they ordered was a ginger ale. Prior to ordering we let the bartender know that we didn't have a lot of time and they assured us that the appetizers could be prepared in a timely fashion. So I ordered an appetizer from the happy hour menu but unfortunately it didn't make it to me in time. I saw the bartender walking down the steps with it as I was walking out the door. Needless to say this will likely be my first and last visit.

Yelp
We went there for a birthday dinner and booked in advance. Got a nice seat overlooking the Delaware river. The place had a great ambience and we were seated promptly. Ordered Thai roaster shrimp for appetizer which was decent enough, nothing amazing. Loved the tableside mojito flight, we could mix our own drinks. Tried the crab stuffed shrimp and shrimp pasta. Both were cooked to perfection and being simple still were on point for taste. We tried the highly recommended Chocolate lava cake. Keep in mind it takes almost 15-20 minutes for this so order in advance. Honestly, me and my wife liked it but again nothing out of the ordinary, have had better. Overall it was a good experience.

Yelp
We went to the Chart House on a Wednesday evening, and there was no wait - we made a reservation, but that was not needed on this day. Free parking is available on-site. The overall restaurant seemed a bit dark, but our table had a direct view of the Delaware River across from the battleship New Jersey and almost made it feel as though we were on a ship. Collin, our server was friendly and attentive. The food was great! The Chart House chopped salad was just the right size, and the Lobster Bisque was memorable. For entree's, we had the Miso Glazed Salmon - which was done just right, and the Teriyaki Sirloin Steak - which was one of the tastiest steaks that I've had in a long while. Dessert was a shared Mini Lava Cake - chocolatey and moist. With a couple of drinks, our bill came in just over $140 for the two of us. I have to say, that, after reading some pretty bad reviews, we hesitated about going there, but decided to give it a try and are very glad we did!

Nanette D.

Yelp
Only wanted a drink & snack at the bar while waiting for cruise ship. One party of 4 at bar & bartender walked back & forth for 7 minutes then said she would be with me in a few minutes. She did absolutely nothing for 10 minutes other than type stuff on her ordering screen. Could not order a snack due to the amount of time I waited for a drink. This is enough to tell me about the restaurant.

Mark R.

Yelp
We haven't been to the Chart House in many years. So, given that it's Restaurant Week in Philly, we thought we should revisit an old favorite. It certainly isn't what it used to be. Most of the people were without jackets and dressed very casual. The incredible salad bar is now gone. That being said, let's talk about what it is today. Our server, "DJ" (Deanna) was professional and pleasant. We both enjoyed the Clam Chowder for it's flavor, consistency, richness and being well stocked with clams. My husband ordered the Peach Shrimp, which he enjoyed, and I ordered the Sweet Tea Chicken, which was full of flavor and tender. Both of us had the Mini Lava cake, which was not so mini and a great way to end the dinner. Though the "charm" of the past seems to have greatly changed, everything else has remained the same. Good service and magic in the kitchen. We will return sooner rather than later :).

Yelp
Food was great, very good. I wish that they had Vegan or Vegetarian Selections, That would of been great

Yelp
[1083] 2/2020 Plenty of parking at this Philadelphia location. We used valet. We had a table of 8 near the inside waterfall (?) which was nice as we can see outside. We ordered a ton of stuff which we enjoyed most. It was more a hit or miss. The clam chowder was watery and boring. The lobster bisque soup was tasty. Appetizers we ordered The coconut crunchy shrimp was tasty Shrimp cocktail was tasty. Kim Chee Calamari was good Oysters on the half shell was good Crab cakes tasty Charred Octopus - first time trying and I enjoyed it Dinner - Shrimp and Scallops - $39. WOW what a disappointment. I can't believe I paid $39 for 3/4 shrimp and 3/4 UNDERCOOKED scallops. I made my husband try the scallops ... I'm so sad about this. I WANTED to say something but we were there for a birthday and I didn't want to spoil it. The waiter saw I didn't eat much and wanted to wrap. I wish he would have asked if it was ok because who doesn't wrap a $39 dish they don't eat. Our servers (one was in training) were horrible. Very nice young men but they were horrible. They both needed to be trained. Kept interrupting.. forgot soup spoon.. rolls were brought AFTER dessert. ..water was forgotten.. twice coffee took forever and the standard line was "making a fresh pot" was code for I forgot. Anyway I won't be back. I just don't see it unless we only come for appetizers.

Ann K.

Yelp
Haven't been in years. This place is a shadow of its former self. The air conditioning was not working. We should have gotten a call telling us and giving us a chance to choose another place for our very special occasion. The food was fine. The oysters were terrible. Took 2 1/2 hours to get through dinner which defeated the point of a 5:30 reservation with two young kids. The manager was terrible and created a difficult and unnecessary problem with our credit cards. Given how hot and uncomfortable it was the whole meal should have been comped. Walking the two year old around i was able to see up close that the rugs were filthy. You can imagine what the kitchen looks like. Do not go here.

D D.

Yelp
Stay away from this place like the plague. The quality of food and attention to detail at this location is far beneath the reputation of any Chart House I have ever patronized. I ordered a medium well prime rib and received a cold, rare, bloody mess. I ordered a chopped salad with ranch dressing. The salad was fine but they sent so little dressing that the salad is completely underdressed and essentially dry. I ordered utensils and bread and got nothing. I paid over $100 through Uber Eats for this crap. I'm deleting the Uber Eats app (consistently awful service) and will never try this location again. I left a voicemail message for the manager about this awful experience. Unbelievable.

Yelp
Eh it was eh. Service was weird, rushed and not proper, food was half given half withheld for my date. Just eh, but prolly nice for views and drinks downstairs. Expensive for eh.

Yelp
Went with friends on a Wednesday night for drinks and apps. When we walked in the place looked so dreary and it was empty. The service was horrible and the food definitely not worth the price you pay. I cant believe this is the same restaurant that used to be phenomenal. Dont recommend.

Yelp
I did not know what to expect but I was pleasantly sip try used! We are from Texas but in the area visiting relatives and vacationing and were in the mood for seafood. The staff here is super friendly and attentive. The view is spectacular! Wish we could have dined outside but the inside view was great too. The food was absolutely amazing!! We tried a variety of dishes from steaks to lobsters to pasta dishes and all were equally as amazing. The food is a little pricey and you can expect to pay a hefty check , but the food is absolutely worth it. It was a wonderful experience on our vacay.

Madeleine N.

Yelp
The Chart House has a nce waterfront location, abs great views but everything else is terrible. The service was unbearably slow. The food was awful. Hubs was so-so with his beef when it finally arrived but my black cod entree was slimy and served in a murky swamp: Unappetizing and pretty much inedible. Even though I barely ate anything I started having stomach cramps before I got home. Take my advice and don't go to Chart House. You might end up regretting it. I know I do.

Yelp
We went for Xmas eve and the service was horrible, restaurant was rundown (old gross carpets). The meal took almost 3 hours with drinks taking forever. The refused to bring more than one piece of bread for each person despite us ordering three course meals--even said we won't bring you bread until you order, then when we asked for more during our long wait for food she kept saying it's in the oven and never brought it. We ordered a $56 bottle of wine that was the worst thing I have ever drank, no business being on the menu at a nice restaurant. They then over charged us, I didn't catch it until after we left and did not run our laundry reward card. We will never go back. Sad as this was my favorite as a kid.

Shannon D.

Yelp
If you're looking for a nice date night this is the place to go. My wife and I went here based on a recommendation from a friend. The food was wonderful and lived up to the hype. The service was a bit slow and at times when we needed our waiter he was nowhere to be found. Otherwise the food and view from the table were spectacular.

Stacy B.

Yelp
Poor service was the predominant theme. We had to wait for a noticeable amount of time before we were seated. The restaurant did not look particularly clean. We received one glass of water each and one basket of rolls. We were never offered a refill on either. This experience was not what I was expecting. We really didn't see our server--it was as if she was hiding! Restaurant staff came when we didn't need them (taking oyster plate away with oysters still on it). They didn't come when we did need them. My colleague tipped her water glass over. We received no assistance. We had to wipe up the water on our own. The food was actually tasty -- the crabcake was great (not too breaded) and the lava cake was delicious. But the delicious food was overshadowed by such poor service. Disappointing,

Yelp
Surprise dinner with my husband at Chart House was nice! I've been to other Chart Houses and this one was okay. Dinner was delightful but not spectacular like I remember from other locations. Chilean Sea Bass was good but the sauce was a bit salty. Shrimp, Asparagus and azuro was cooked perfectly. Nice date night for the husband and I!

Yelp
Beautiful setting on the water with a view of the city. We had a large group and the service was very attentive. The environment had a calm and inviting ambiance. Menu selection was typical of a waterfront restaurant with a nice selection of surf and turf. I chose the 9 ounce filet which melted in my mouth. The only disappointment was i asked for medium and received medium rare. Calamari, lobster bisque, and brie board were perfect.

Patrick M.

Yelp
wish i could say i had a a better than mediocre time. I have eaten at the chart house in a couple of locations and it's usually ok food. the problem this time was more about the manageent than the food or the service. we stood at the entrance with about 5 other parties waiting for the hostess to show up and seat us. that took about 20 minutes for her to even return to the desk. not a good start. the service was awful not because the waitress was bad, she was great, but she didnt have the help she needed. she was swamped and did the best she could but there were long waits for everything. before anyone gets worked up, we did not stiff her, we left a 30% tip. She was personable, competent and clearly overworked. the food was meh. what is it with restaraunts serving shrimp in hot dishes, like a pasta dish, and not removing the tails? it requires that the diner either dig in themselves to perform surgery or, i guess eat the tail? I dont understand why this is a thing in ANY restaurant but it's really common. My Prime Rib was tasteless but I guess I should know better than to order prime rib. the desserts were great. the lobster bisque was also very good. finally, the worst part for us, was that in this 3 story restaurant they were only seating on the 3rd level and the rest room was on the 1st level and the elevator was out. we had a person with limited mobility with us who had to struggle up to the table, then down to the bottom level where the only rest room is, and then back up two levels back to the table. it was embarrasing for her and created a dangerous situation. We were there to celebrate a birthday but when the next one rolls around we'll be trying a different place.

Yelp
I don't understand why this place has only 2 1/2 stars. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday this past weekend and I really enjoyed it. Due to COVID, there was only outdoor dining. Which I didn't mind at all! The scenery was great, almost felt like I was in Seattle it something. And Charthouse did a great job with social distancing the tables. However, when walking through the restaurant the set up of the place was breathtaking. Love the elegant feel with the indoor waterfall. We had amazing service from our Server Tarimah. She was the sweetest. Fun fact: Did you guys know their kitchen is on the 3rd floor and your servers have to go up there to get your food? Please show your servers appreciation, it's hard out here! Both my boyfriend and I got the 3 course meal priced at $41 p/p. It comes with a soup/salad, prime rib, and lava cake. We both got Lobster Bisque. It was fresh, light and tasty. This was my first time having prime rib and I wish I had more of an appetite to enjoy my food, but it was a nice size and cooked to my liking (medium rare). The lava cake was huge! So rich and even enough for two to share. We definitely will be returning to try some different food next time. Thank you to the Chartbouse staff and our server Tarimah for making our visit a very pleasant one during these chaotic times! :)

Yelp
So I found it challenging to rank this place. Overall, the food and drinks were SOLID and super tasty. My initial challenge is we were sat at our table 30 minutes after our reservation time. We arrived to our reservation 15 minutes early. No biggie we sat at the bar and enjoyed the sunset and view. After we were sat we were not greeted until 910 pm (10 minutes after being sat). The challenge here is two people who were sat after us were greeted by there server before us so we ended up getting all of our food after them of course even though we were sat before them. The only small concern I have around the food was our coconut shrimp app. There were only 5 shrimp for two people to split and the shrimp were tiny for a $14 app. Moving forward we waited almost an hour to get our food. Server was nice! Lady in yellow jacket we met at the bar was nice! Food was actually super good. I'm just NOT interested in dinner taking 2 hours!

Yelp
I returned to the chart house by invitation from the GM because of our previous experience, it wasnt good. They stepped up their game somewhat. As always the views and ambiance are exceptional! The service was average, I was never offered a second glass of wine, I had to ask for it and it came as I was finishing my meal. My lobster bisque was disappointing, it was luke warm and the lobster in it was so hot it burnt my tongue, and had a funny texture. It took 4 bread plates for me to get a clean one, smh...They didn't have the rose I ordered or any rose for that matter so I had to get a considerably more expensive white. My king crab legs were delightful as were my dining partners prime rib. last but not least the toilet seat came right out of the base! Screws and all, had i been wearing heals this would have been a disaster! I can, however recommend the happy hour, good selection of apps and discounted drinks. For me this particular chart house cannot handle a full service meal flawlessly.

Henry P.

Yelp
I ordered the clam chowder to start and it was excellent. I chose the NY Strip Steak as I didn't want to spend the money for the fillet. I didn't have high expectations for the steak but it was phenomenal! The Boursin Mashed Potatoes were sublime! I hope to return some day.

Yelp
Best part of the restaurant is the view, the decor brings the browns and beige back from the 80s, our service was ok, took a while to get seated as the front of house was gone, our waitress was fine not very personal but did fine. The food was ok, vegetables were overcooked, Mahi was ok and the sauce was very salty. Overall the price point is way over where it should be for what you get, but the view was nice.

Yelp
First off the restaurant is run down it needs a major facelift. You will notice the carpet sticks to your shoes. That being said the views are fantastic they're going to be even better with the new windows. The food was great and the service was awesome. You won't be disappointed by the drinks either. We were a party of nine seated when everyone was there. We enjoyed the food! We had one check but, you can use up to five different payment options to pay it off. My suggestion is go for the great food and service, try not to look at the decor.

Yelp
Terrible. I felt bad for the waiters to be put in such an understaffed position. Expensive and not worth it. Wait staff was nice and they tried their hardest. The food wasn't good. Management should work on better staffing ratios. I felt for them!

Yelp
We had dinner here, and this place sucks! Beautiful view is all your going to get! The food is blah! We spent 300$ and it wasn't worth it, we came to dine with guess from out of town and thought they would enjoy! My chicken was bland, and nothing I had was good, as well as my guess! Please go enjoy all the good food in Philadelphia before wasting your money! I'm so disappointed! The waiter was very good!

Yelp
Let me start by saying how beautiful of a location this was--The ambiance truly sets the tone as we sat at an ocean view. The food was absolutely stunning, a little small in portion size and prices range from about $30-$60 per dish but totally worth it in the end. I enjoyed the stuffed shrimp, mashed and Asian string beans which were the highlight of my meal. Sad to say I wasn't pleased with the lack of service as everything came out extremely slow and we felt almost ignored by the servers. Management was nice though, so overall not a horrible experience. Thanks Chart House!

Yelp
Came out to the Chart House here because we wanted to try a different one other than in Weehawken and it was Valentines wknd and was running a little behind because there was an accident on 95 so I called and spoke to the receptionist and she wasnt the most helpful because I gave her my name and at 1st they couldn't find it then she found, then she says "well we only give a 15 min grace and you will ABSOLUTELY have to be in here by 10 because it was the last sitting". Mind you I was less than 2 miles away from there. Got there within 10 min and walked in and very nice location. Sits on the water and nice ambiance but that was about the best of the night. They sat us fairly quickly and the waitress Marrisa came over and took our app and drink order. Very pleasant which was good. Brought the drinks out which I had a Long Island Iced Tea premium and it was very good. She then brought out the app which was a shrimp cocktail but had to wait for her to come back around because they didnt have lemon wedges for the shrimp which is a small thing but it should have been on the plate. She then went and got us some wedges. We then ordered dinner which they didnt have a good selection of fish dishes so my wife ordered the flounder and crab dish with asparagus and mash ($36) and I ordered shrimp and scallops with rice ($39). Waited for about 25 min and when the dishes came out they were luke warm. The bottom of the plate was very hot indicating the dishes were placed in the microwave. They must have sat at the pass too long and tried to get over by bringing it out. We immediately called the waitress over and advised her that the food wasnt hot at all so she went and got the manager and other than try and rectify the issue she just decided to take the flounder dish off instead of making my wife a new HOT dish. Poor customer service because we would have rather they make a new dish than just take off the bill. In the meantime of all of this you have the raw bar staff loudly talking and cursing about what they will and will not do while walking back and forth from the raw bar. Very unprofessional for the staff to be heard by the customers. At this point they brought the Lava cake which was the best part of the dinner. After we ate the lava cake we asked for the bill because by this time Marissa was no longer interested in seeing if we wanted another cocktail or not. Guess because the flounder dish was taken off the bill and her tip was going to be short. I paid the $100 bill for a mediocre dinner and after we paid the bill I no longer saw her which indicates again the manager and her staff know little about customer service. In the end I dont think I would come back to this Chart House. I would go to Weehawken, NJ where the service is superb.

Yelp
I took my family for dinner on Easter. I could not believe how the Chart House has declined. The food was atrocious. The restaurant itself is dirty. Carpets were dirty, the railing on the stairs was sticky. I ordered the prime rib which was full of fat that was not rendered. Completely inedible. My daughter ordered a New York strip that was tough and full of gristle. Unfortunately I would not dine at Chart House again.

Yelp
The Chart House has always been my go to for celebrations. Last night I introduced the next generation to my favorite. The waitress was less than average. She rarely checked in on us, no one got a beverage refill for the whole meal (8 of us). She brought my daughter a slice of ice cream cake for her bday and brought out my lava cake (this has to be ordered with dinner as it takes 30min to prepare)...she never came with the dessert menu so no one else was able to have dessert with us. Gratuity was added to the check at 18%, I paid will card and cash. When she returned, she said "oh did you want the change"? Personally I always tip 20% regardless of service and more when the service is good. in this case she got 20% only. The dessert came a few min before the check so everyone was still eating, we waiting 15min and never saw her. Mt dtr (her bday) wanted to take home her cheesecake. Typically a manager checks in at least once, not last night. I saw one while walking out but she was attending to a table who selected the $55 meal and the kitchen closed without fulfilling their meal. The 2 that ordered the chicken said it was not good. I decided to take it home and hope my husband would eat it. 2 bites out of 2 meals and the waitress didn't care. She had 3 tables that I could tell (mine was 8 but the others were not that large). Our bill was approx $600 so it's not like we were ordering cheap and just getting apps or something. Ah and the lava cake had no lava center, was not hot, and was about 1/3 of the size of previous years. That coupled with the increased prices, mismatched serveware, poor service...I won't be returning. And I'm sad about it.

Yelp
So I was excited to take my mom to Chart House for Mother's Day brunch. I've been to the NJ location, but never the Philly one. So my expectations were high, given the good experiences I've had at the NJ location. The experience was extremely disappointing. Service was mind numbingly SLOW. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks, an hour to get our appetizers and our entrees came out 1 hour and 45 minutes after we sat down. Thankfully the food was hot, otherwise my mother would of had a conniption. Our entrees while hot, were bland. I've had more flavorful food at a diner. There was no acknowledgement from the server regarding the slow service. If anything, she seemed more interested in up selling us the lava molten cake, that takes a half hour to make. It was an extremely disappointing experience, for the price point a complete rip off. I won't be back.

Yelp
Sat at the bar. Bartender seemed disappointed that she might have to serve some food. That may explain why there were only 4 other patrons. No atmosphere, nice view of the river. Started with drinks, then a half dozen oysters. They were served with one hanging half out of the shell over the edge of the serving plate. No attention to detail. Caesar salad was ok. Fish was grilled nicely, vegetables served with it looked and tasted left over. I've been to other Chart House locations, this was below standard. No reason to go back. The place was empty, not a good sign. A big check for a big letdown.
