We went to Chart House in Portland to celebrate my birthday, and it was the perfect choice for such a special occasion. The place felt truly amazing, ideal for celebrating milestones or meaningful moments with loved ones. The food was superb, the service was excellent, and the view was absolutely mesmerizing, especially with the city and river as a backdrop. What made it even better is that it’s a kid-friendly restaurant, which made the whole experience more enjoyable for our family. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking to dine somewhere memorable.

We were wowed by this location and view, driving in park like road approaching the restaurant was very great pleasure. The restaurant sits on a hill overlooking the river below and Mt Hood + St Helen. Very spacious seating and excellent food. We loved the prime rib, tender and juicy; the miso sake grazed cod, favorable; our favorite was the superb seafood bouillabaisse, we even asked additional bread so we can dip the soup. The parking was valet parking without waiting, the staff were very friendly and easygoing. We had a great time and will definitely go back again.

This restaurant is a gem! I wish I'd discovered it sooner. The setting up in the West Hills is lovely with a great view of the river. We enjoyed cocktails and Happy Hour food in the downstairs lounge, and everything was excellent. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely recommend!

Google
Service was fantastic. The food is decent. Nothing to be excited about. Breed was still frozen in the middle. Fish had good flavor and texture. Potatos was good. Tuna is excellent. Great texture and full of flavor. It would be a cool place to visit during the day to see the view.

Last night, we decided to treat ourselves to a really good dinner at the Chart House. To celebrate a successful PRIDE weekend. We were in the mood for seafood and went all in with 2lbs of wild caught King Crab, perfectly cooked filet mignon & a NY steak. The shrimp cocktail with a Caesar Salad was a great starter. We started the night with a round of cocktails, a Basil Hayden Old Fashioneds, Tanqueray martinis, and a double berry Moscow Mules. The Espresso Martini Souffle was made table-side, which added a nice touch without feeling over-the-top. We wrapped up the evening with a bottle of wine, which paired perfectly with the view and the slower pace of the night. The restaurant is tucked into Portlands hillside, surrounded by trees, and just before sunset, everything felt calm and a little surreal. Soft music played in the background, and the whole place had this quiet elegance without trying too hard. Everything worked. The drinks, the setting, the food all came together in a way that felt easy and really satisfying. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit.

Everyone was so friendly and kind, this was my first time eating here. The experience was amazing, made me want to come back for more. Our servicer, was a fast, sufficient, kind, and went and above and beyond for us. When we first arrived. We were sitted in the middle of the room. We asked our generous waiter how we can get a table near the window in the future, and he said they like to try to accommodate, we just have to request it when making the reservation. Next thing we knew he offered us a window seat in the amazing nuke in the corner of the room, I felt more secluded and private. The drinks were fantastic. Great flavors, and a good selection. We had valet park our car, I mean for me, coming from the small, but beautiful town of Forest grove, it was incredible. David's hill winery is the fanciest thing we have in town. The food was a 10/10 the flavors, combinations and style was very well presented and prepared. Everything was fantastic, my favorite part was the staff. They made me feel like family. These people DESERVE RAISES.

Google
Chart House is a beautiful restaurant in the hill side bank of the Columbia River. It has a woodland type theme. The restaurant has free parking and handicap parking. The restaurant is is handicap is accessible. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Allergies are taken seriously and accommodated. We enjoyed the salmon, prime rib with fries and asparagus. We had raspberry sorbet for dessert.

Google
Great spot for a fancy date, special birthday, anniversary, or other formal occasion. Beautiful views of the city, especially if you’re lucky enough to get a window table. Even though the food is high-quality and upscale, the portions are generous and filling. I recommend the coconut crunchy shrimp and the spinach salad. The side of mushrooms is indulgent and makes any mushroom-haters change their minds. Don’t forget to order a hot lava cake! It will change your life!

Yelp
Delicious dining with an amazing view. I enjoyed watching the sun set over Portland...the sky turning from blue to cotton candy pinks and oranges as darkness fell. The service I received from Austin was excellent. I started with the bread basket and it was ok. Nothing special but not bad. Next up was the crab cake. The crab cake was divine! I highly recommend you order it and savor every bite. The 7 oz filet (medium) and mashed potatoes were good...the meat was tender and flavorful. I'm a wee bit of a steak snob so I can't say it was great but most other people would probably enjoy it. Lastly there was the chocolate lava cake...Unfortunateky there was a long wait, despite ordering it early after the appetizer. Perhaps it was because the restaurant was very busy. My server, Austin, would come by to check on me and apologize a few times before the dessert actually arrived so that was nice. Overall it was a lovely evening and an enjoyable tasty meal with killer views.

Yelp
We held a 90th birthday party with17 guests at Chart House in May. 3 main issues: the space, food and communication. The space they gave turned out to be about 50% of what was promised. We were to have an area set up with appetizers and wine so people could mingle. That space was given to other customers so we had to crowd around the table. We had people fly from New Zealand, Alaska and Virginia to attend. Very disappointing. Food: The food was only acceptable. The salad was ungarnished and plopped on the plate. My baked mahi was two strips of white mahi on white sauce with a pyramid of white rice on a white plate. Not appetizing. No one was impressed with the food. Fnally, comminucation with marketing was duffucult. I often had to call multiple times and wait for a couple days to hear back. I sent a note after the dinner with these concerns but got no response. Our server worked hard and was good.

Yelp
This is my second visit to this location and the food did not disappoint. Drinks: Pomegranate Martini Chocolate & Bourbon Food: Dozen oysters Lobster & Shrimp Carbonara NY Strip (added mushroom truffle butter) Sizzling Mushrooms (additional) Oysters were great and fresh. The Lobster & Shrimp Carbonara was simply delicious. It was rich, creamy and flavorful. The NY Strip, perfectly seasoned and cooked, paired wonderfully with the truffle butter. The 3 potato garlic mash was a great side, but the real star was the sizzling mushrooms. They were bursting with flavor and paired perfectly with both the pasta and strip. I wished for a larger serving of the sizzling mushrooms, and it would have been ideal for the steak to come with asparagus or green beans at no extra charge. Despite these preferences, the overall experience was fantastic.

Yelp
The restaurant sitting on top of the west hill that has a great view of the city and the far away Mt Hood. My friend who is a local, picked this place for dinner. I ordered Yellowfin tuna and Copper River Salmon. The tuna was great, but the pricy salmon ($69) was a little bit off on the flavor. It still tasted good but not matched the price tag.

Yelp
The server was amazing, super friendly. By far the friendliest server I ever had! The food was good. 8/10 on my end. I had the twin lobster tails and noodles w/shrimp. My Bff had the steak & potatoes and honestly hers was fire! we had some really cool cocktails / no fire ice but that didn't defeat the ambience that we experienced so therefore all stars I will definitely come back!!!

Yelp
This used to be our go-to place but we haven't been here in a while. Food was a five star, server was a 4.5. Price... pricey! $700 for 7 adults and two babies. Service was a bit slow if you consider our reservation was for 4:45 because of the babies. We politely asked to help expedite before the two 21 month olds started to get crazy on us. Thank goodness we were seated in the back corner where they could run around and make noise without being noticed. Parking lot was a huge mess as the valets left a large SUV running, on the side of the lot, blocking folks from leaving easily. Overall a very nice Mother's (and Grandmother's) Day meal.

Yelp
Like everyone else on this emotional roller coaster, I'm approaching this visit with mixed feelings. Yes, while it was good to visit Chart overlooking the Willamette River in lush South Portland, I felt prices didn't match the menu and that food was just 'ehh'. That being said, some folks consider this as a "must-visit" restaurant. Chart H. has a nice sounding menu with lots of seafood, bisque/soups, meats, salads, etc. Despite their ratings, the crowd had a buzz. We couldn't leave the bread basket alone here. It's filled with pumpernickel long roles, mini ciabatta ones and seasony crackers, we asked for another basket. I could live off these rolls. Our Crab+Shrimp Avocado Stack had a nice amount of both- but the avocado wasn't ripe at all. Hubs liked his steak, my daughter was over the moon with her shrimp+juicy, seared scallops over mashed and my Cod, had a severely sweet glaze. I'm not sure why. Our plates weren't lip-smacking great at this chain restaurant and our visit was uneven- but service was outstanding from our guy Jacob.

Yelp
The Chart House is a high-end chain restaurant that offers an extensive selection of seafood and steakhouse fare in a sophisticated setting with breathtaking views. Cheers to that! Nice Happy Hour
google avatar

Marylyn T.

Yelp
Everything I got was well seasoned and good which is hard to say for most "fancy" restaurants in Portland! Free valet parking :) Oysters were fresh! The reviews are right, the Calamari was the star of the dinner. Large portion, great flavor. Clam Chowder was disappointing as there were no clams really. Filet Mignon was solid, not exactly a wow factor to it. Ordered Twin Lobsters as an add-on, again solid but not wow. The Shrimp Pasta was light, and shrimp was well seasoned! The Lava Cake was amazing despite how full I was at the end of my meal.

Yelp
Food is deeelicious, at a reasonable price, especially for happy hour. It's a great choice to meet friends and enjoy the service, food, and magnificent view of mt. hood on a clear day. Portions are ample to share, happy hr drinks are excellent, and service from folks who clearly like working there. Thanks, Ryan, for the great service ...

Yelp
We had an absolutely fantastic first visit. The food was incredibly delicious, the wine selection was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Paired with the incomparable view, it's an experience that can't be beat. It's definitely worth trying their Happy Hours as well. They have plenty of parking spots. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice restaurant with a fantastic view of Mt. Hood! The food is good, nice service. Everything we ordered was great! I really enjoyed my shrimp and scallops, tasted so good, and beautiful plated too. The calamari was the best I've had so far, just maybe it's better not to have the funny fried noodles at the bottom were be perfect.

Yelp
Outstanding Vibes and Views! We visited on a Wednesday night (Oct 4, 2023), I was surprised to see how busy it was. I thought maybe it would be a little slower during the week. Jessica was our fabulous server for the night! She was so helpful and sweet. This was a special occasion and I asked for our guest's names to be on the menu, when I arrived someone asked if the names were spelled correctly (they were not), nothing was communicated about reprinting, I thought since they asked if it was correct, they might be reprinting it but they didn't. Not the end of the world but a little disappointing. I looked back at my reservation with Open Table and I did submit the correct spelling. I liked the option with the pre-fix menu. We brought our own wine, they were able to decant appropriately. Parking is valet only!
google avatar

Yelp
Wanted to try something new and ended up at Chart House. We made a reservation through OpenTable and we were promptly seated when we arrived. We were seated downstairs, which I liked more than the upstairs. The upstairs has better views, but I like the ambiance of downstairs a little more. We started off with attempting to try both signature drinks, but they didn't have dry ice stocked, so we couldn't order one of the drinks. The applewood smoked bourbon was good. For dinner, we started with the charcuterie board. I am not an olive eater, but was told the olive mix was delicious. The fig jam was my favorite, along with the cheese and pesto. For mains, I decided to go all out with the king crab legs with a side of the garlic mashed potatoes and crunchy coconut shrimp. I realized after the fact (even though they have obvious signs in the restaurant) that this was a landrys club restaurant, the server was nice enough to allow me to get the points for my tab. Great experience overall, one of the nicer restaurants with a view in PDX.

Yelp
We came to Chart House on the 11th to celebrate both a birthday and an early Mother's Day. It was beautiful, sunny day so the view was gorgeous although the room was a little warm. Service was great on a busy day and the food was delicious. Since there was a crowd the room was a little noisy and old ears had a bit of trouble hearing everything, but overall it was a wonderful experience with a three course meal.

Yelp
Chart House is a Portland institution, and even though it is owned by a large corporate chain so the menu is very corporate, the space has one of the most stunning views of the city. I will say the food is consistent and solid with some standouts like their kimchi shrimp appetizer and their salads. Happy Hour is the best opportunity to enjoy the view, the food and libations. Valet parking is nice but you can also park down the street and walk in. Service is usually also consistent and good. A solid place for a beautiful view and a nice experience.
google avatar

Odulami B.

Yelp
The Chart House has been a long time favorite. While they have changed dramatically over the years, they continue to deliver a solid dining experience with excellent service. From valet parking (Dinner), to reservation check-in, the views and ambiance, they consistent deliver above the average. Great for drinks and appetizers with friends or coworkers.

Yelp
Food and service were awesome. We were celebrating our 21st Anniversary. We were almost treated like royalty. The waitress (I think here name is Yvette) was very attentive considering it was a little bit busy. When we made our reservation,we asked for a window seat to observe Monterey Bay, and were accommodated. Our dinner was delicious. After dinner we were served complimentary desserts, including their famous chocolate lava cake. In the middle section and toward the top of the menu it was printed "Happy 21st Anniversary (see photo). The ambiance was nice. My only small complaint is that they had some rock music in the background that was a little bit loud. Overall, it was a memorable experience AGAIN. We will definitely return again for the fourth time for an occasion.

Yelp
The Chart house is typically a great go-to place that's decent with a nice ambiance, great service, and tasty food. I generally frequent the Chart house in San Francisco or Monterey, and have grown fond of the Monterey Chart House; however this Chart House delivered great service similarly. The food was decent -- could have been hotter but overall it was a good selection to meet with my sister while I was in town. It was clean, efficient, and served the purpose.
google avatar

Kiarash A.

Yelp
We went to this place for a Saturday lunch. We were seated immediately. The view was dazzling. The service was friendly and timely. We ordered plenty of appetizers, clam chowder, and fish and chips. They were tasty. Not the best you could imagine, but good and tasty. Overall we enjoyed our experience. If you like a restaurant with a beautiful view and good food, consider this place.
google avatar

Fraya S.

Yelp
Overall good experience. My friend took me and my family to dinner here. It's everything you would expect from an upscale expensive restaurant. Calamari Kimchi is great value and also great taste. I wasn't expecting to see such a huge portion for an appetizer. My table had prime rib, halibut, swordfish, salmon, and ahi tuna. Everything was great, although Ahi tuna could be better. We ordered zero proof drinks and the mint cucumber was so good. Our server was nice and very attentive. For dinner, they only do valet parking only. Please remember to ready some cash for tips (although there is a sign that valet parking is complementary).
google avatar

Chaiyaporn B.

Yelp
A beautiful restaurant, great food and wonderful service! Very friendly wait staff. If you are in Portland, it is worth a visit - particularly for a dinner!
google avatar

Ward C.

Yelp
ok 1. you have to give at least an extra star for historic and unique and 2. the service is usually outstanding compared to the "I dare you to complain" attitude at some places. That said, it has been "chainafied", the quality of food even for nostalgia, isn't what it should be for prices. Typical chain mentality - save a tiny few cents on costs but significantly cut quality, charge double, wonder why customers flee.
google avatar

Jack C.

Yelp
Nice ambiance and very good service. Worth the visit. Not just for special occasions. Make it a regular thing.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
My wife, 2 teenage daughters and I went here for a birthday dinner this weekend. For the views and complimentary valet parking I would give it 5 stars. However, the food was average at best. The calamari appetizer was the star of the meal but the chicken, salmon and shrimp were meh. The chowder, lobster bisque and complimentary bread were pretty good. Th Cesar salad was awful. I would definitely recommend this place for happy hour but not dinner.

Yelp
Chart House is a great place to visit for the view. And their website states they have a great HH! Since we were visiting from out of state we had to take an Uber there. Walked in the front door after getting dropped off by an Uber. Was greeted very rudely by Jorge at the hostess stand that informed us that the bar area was full!! And that the wait would be 45-60 minutes and that by that time HH would be over so good luck. He then turned his back on us, rudely and ignored us. Look we are from Houston Texas where people are usually not as rude as Jorge! And this restaurant is in the Landry's Family, really I wonder if Tillman knows how rude Jorge is??!! The bar at this restaurant is located downstairs, so husband decided to walk downstairs to look at the seating and luckily he did as he found us 2 empty seats right at the bar area! Perfect. We had a couple of appetizers and a few drinks. We enjoyed the view and the bartender and waitress in the bar area were nice. But the RUDE greeting from Jorge really upset our overall experience. Please note parking here is only valet. There is free street parking available. The view is great. They have a few places outside that make for great pictures. As for us our time here was not great thanks to Jorge. I have followed the instructions and gone on line and sent an email. Let's see if anyone reaches out to me by phone. Again Great view. People working here not as good as the food.

Yelp
Went for Monday Happy Hour with family-- seating for happy hour is downstairs in the lounge/bar. Pretty mellow setting with great views of Portland, and the happy hour menu is very reasonably priced. I would give 5 stars for ambiance/environment, and 3 stars for the food. The food was fine, but most things very pretty oily/fried. For example, I felt I ate more fried dough than calamari in the calamari dish. I think overall still a good experience because of the space, location and fast service but I wouldn't aim to go here for just the food.

Suni S.

Yelp
Chart House has a nice reputation in the community so we decided to use their upstairs enclosed space for a presentation event. On the front end of planning, our staff contact there was attentive and overpromising of all the services. But once the event arrived, things took a turn. The food was perfectly fine, and the event space was adequate -- a little louder than we were promised for the weeknight it was, but still fine. It was the valet and response from The Chart House that went so poorly. We had prepped the restaurant ahead of time with the number of guests we'd have at the event, and were told folks could park themselves or use the valet. But the day of, the required everyone to use the valet but unfortunately the number of valet staff was not nearly enough, so we have guests waiting for long periods of time. To top it off, the valet staff lost the keys to one of the guests cars, so they had to Uber home and call a locksmith the next day to retrieve their car. When I addressed these issues with The Chart House, the simply shrugged and asked us to pay the bill. If you go to The Chart House for a small dinner, I am sure it will be just fine (great views!), but I strongly suggest you do not consider them for an event.

Becky G.

Yelp
I've been to chart house a few times, but the most recent was Valentine's Day. We were so impressed with the friendly service and romantic atmosphere. The most memorable dish was the kimchi calamari. My boyfriend is still talking about it months later. The only disappointment was that they had a special Valentine's Day menu, but they were sold out of over half of the options. I ended up ordering off of the regular menu.
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
The food was ok. The only thing I like was happy hour calamari. My prime rib supposed to be more red in the center. The fish was over cook. The sides like mushroom, green bean and potatoes was good. The service was good. There is only valet parking. It has nice view. My sister in law got ice cream cake for her birthday and it was good.
google avatar

Trina H.

Yelp
We took my Father here for an early Father's Day and everything was excellent. The calamari appetizer is a must have, but it is also so large that you want to share it with the table. The halibut was superb. We ended the evening with dessert. It was delicious and a great way to end the dining experience.
google avatar

Cristina C.

Yelp
Everything here was so wonderful. Well, not everything. They have valet parking, which was unexpected, and caused a bottleneck when leaving. We got there right at opening and the servers were still preparing. No one addressed us at all. When we were finally seated, our server was fantastic. He was attentive and warm, eventhough we were a large party with a lot of quirks. The food was fantastic! All the drinks were yummy. I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Sophie F.

Yelp
Came here during a holiday special menu so I believe some of these items were exclusive to that menu. However the service was great, food high quality, and situated in an area with a nice view...one of the best restaurants in pdx !
google avatar

Taylor M.

Yelp
Chart House is always a pleasure. The views, the food, the staff, and the ambience are all top notch. I crave their coconut shrimp more often than I'd like to admit. Normally, I am a bit weary of valet drivers, but the staff here are always professional and cautious. You can rest assured your car will be handled with care. From there, you head inside to a gorgeous room with a view at nearly every table. You're offered an extensive drink menu and the chocolate lava cake (which is a must) that they'll prepare while you enjoy your main dish. Somehow every dish is brought out timely and seamlessly. The staff are so kind and if you're enjoying a special occasion, they'll often celebrate it with you. I've never had a bad experience here, so you really can't go wrong. I recommend making a reservation and going around sunset or even later at night to truly enjoy the city views.
google avatar

Gwen S.

Yelp
The food was very flavorful, even if it was on the warm side and not hot. The waitress must have been new, I thought clam chowder was just automatically served with oyster crackers and an offer of cracked black pepper. And even when the crackers were requested they didn't arrive until at least 5 minutes later. We were there early 11:30am Saturday and the place wasn't crowded, so I'm thinking it might have been a staffing issue. I only saw 1 food runner. I appreciated having a "lunch box" option that included a starter & entree for $20, my chicken was delicious-even if it was just warm.
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
View, good food (better than recent/COVID years visits) and excellent service. You will be paying for the view and being able to eat fine dining (not many options anymore), but for special occasions and business meetings its worthy.
google avatar

Ofelia D.

Yelp
Always an amazing experience. The food is always delicious. Haven't been disappointed yet. The mojito flights were refreshing, especially the mango mojito. My guest from Hawaii throughly enjoyed everything about The Chart House.
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
This has been our go to spot for special occasions for 20 years! Beautiful view and great food. Large seafood and drink selection. A must try!
google avatar

Finnegan E.

Yelp
I went here thinking it would be an mediocre restaurant with a nice view, but the food was just amazing. I got the calamari and the peanut sauce Mahi, and it was some of the most flavorful calamari and some of the tenderest and most fresh Mahi I have ever had. And the service was just incredible, our waiter was super nice and the food came very quickly.
google avatar

Mariana S.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful as well as the view, that's why I went there actually. They have a great drink selection and pretty cool ones. The food was just ok, nothing spectacular. We ordered the coconut shrimp, I had the fish and my bf had the cheeseburger, he said he was disappointed. Dessert was nice, we had the crème brûlée flight. The service was very good but overall I think it's expensive for what you get, maybe dinner is different, I'm thinking about giving another try.

Caya M.

Yelp
View is beautiful! Service was very good tonight and valet parking a nice touch. Except for the oysters and clam chowder I was underwhelmed. The market priced lobster was over prepared (dry) with little to no rich lobster flavor that I would expect. Prawns were over cooked as well and did not leave much flavor. To a bit of my surprise after the lobster disappointment, the halibut was cooked nicely. My recommendation is to stay with the basics. It's been two years since I last visited Chart House and now I remember why....

Tristan K.

Yelp
Chart House never disappoints, and our recent date night here was absolute perfection! Let's start with the ambiance: dim lighting, gorgeous views of the city lights across the water... seriously romantic. The service was impeccable, with our server being attentive without being intrusive. We both went for seafood, and wow, the freshness was incredible. The portions were generous too! Don't even get me started on the Hot Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert - pure indulgence. Yes, Chart House can be on the pricier side, but for a special occasion or when you're craving fantastic food with a side of stunning views, it's absolutely worth it. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
We had a gift card. Haven't been there in a while but have no desire to return unless its for happy hour. Cocktails / Wine -- Wife ordered one of their special margaritas and I ordered a Manhattan. Their special margarita was good (very sweet) and Manhattan was poor. Think they are good at making drinks from their standard house cocktail menu but don't attempt to order classic cocktails. They have a limited selection of spirits and bartenders are below average. Didn't order wine but didn't see anything interesting on the list. Looked like a wine list was selected by a committee of people from another part of the country and markup was pretty high for standard grocery stores wines available anywhere. Food - Very hit or miss. Prime Rib was good/solid. Calamari was very good. Salad was weak/poor. Mahi Mahi was absolutely terrible ---- fishy, over-cooked surrounded by weird peanut butter sauce with mango? Do not order fish at this restaurant. It was a joke. Wife couldn't eat it so I gave her half of my prime rib. Table next to us ordered mushrooms that looked good. They need to focus their menu and make every item great. Service - OK. Below what I would expect for a nicer restaurant. Main entrees came out a little cold and long after the app. Could tell it have been ready for a while and just not delivered. Shouldn't have to look around for our waiter and have no water for half the night. Ambiance -- Interior is a bit dated but views are amazing. Seriously -- we sat by the window downstairs and it was very nice. Almost makes up for poor food and Ok service. Valet parking is great.

Gabe C.

Yelp
had a good experience with the food. the view of the city, river, and mountains was very nice. only thing keeping my experience away from a 5 star is the service. It took pretty long for the servers to come and take orders and check in.

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing views. Make a reservation online and go enjoy the Chart House. Views are incredible and food is on point. I had a salad to start and halibut Del Mar as my main course. Salad was full of flavor and a big plate; finished it all. The halibut was perfectly cooked and served with avocado and side of mashed potatoes - definitely hits the spot; finished it all again. I often myself feeling hungry after eating at high end restaurants like this one but not here. Chart House was just perfect. P.s. parking is valet only

Yelp
Went to Chart House for a business dinner this week, and the food and service were amazing as always. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get photos of the entire meal because I didn't think my management team would appreciate me whipping out my phone to take pictures of each new dish as it was served, but it was definitely still review worthy. I made our reservations using Open Table, which was a breeze. I arrived a little early, before anyone else was there, so I went downstairs to the lounge/bar area to grab a drink and relax for a few minutes before heading up to our table. Note - it was 5:30 on a Thursday night during happy hour, and I was still able to easily find a chair and be served at the bar. I ordered the Monarch Margarita which was quite good, although a little on the sour side, but I enjoy that. Afterward, I went back upstairs and was sat right away. We had a table with an amazing view of Mt Hood, where we were able to watch the sun go down throughout our meal, which was a lovely addition. Allison was our server that evening, and she was a delight. She was attentive, engaging and very well-informed about the menu which we appreciated. She also saved me from accidentally ordering a drink I would not have enjoyed by letting me know upfront that it was pretty sweet, so I just ordered something else instead. Thank you, Allison! We went with multiple appetizers for the table: the Shrimp, Crab, Avocado and Mango Stack, the Crunchy Coconut Shrimp and the Calamari. But I have to say that the Calamari took the cake. Allison warned us that it was a large portion, but when I tell you that the serving was big, it was BIG! I only wish I had a picture to show you. We had 6 people eating off of it, and still didn't finish the entire thing. But that's okay - hello, leftovers! As for my dinner, I had the King Salmon with Potato Leek Cakes, which was divine. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and perfect for the occasion. And while it wasn't my first visit, it most certainly won't be my last.

Yelp
I went looking for mud pie for my birthday lunch. It was surprisingly hard to find post-Covid in the area, but Chart House has it on the menu! We were sat at a window table with stunning views of the valley. My friends tried the seafood and steak and all agreed the food was delicious. My mud pie was absolutely amazing and everything I wanted. Waitress was very friendly and capable. Staff was nice. Venue is really pretty and large with several seating areas to just have a drink and chat. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Came alone for my birthday, my personal choice, and the atmosphere is so amazing! The staff did a wonderful job hosting me and made me feel comfortable, as I was alone. I was able to get a table close to the windows, so I could oversee Portland

Yelp
I tend to come in on Sunday's for brunch. It'd seem that Andrew R is always our bartender and Nery is always our runner. These two are amazing and need a big shout out! Andrew can handle 12 women ordering food and multiple drinks and always get it right. Nery is a ray of sunshine who is always so helpful and always has a huge smile on his face. He's so sweet; never seeming hassled when we ask for extra sauces etc., no matter how busy it is. I know we are in good hands when these 2 are working.

Yelp
Just finished one of the worst dining experiences. The atmosphere, which is what you're paying for when you make a reservation at a restaurant with a view like the Chart House, was abhorrent. It was loud beyond belief ... from the other guests ( beyond the restaurants control) to the cooking fans and clanging dishes right next to the tables to the loud music being piped on top of everything else. When I made our reservation, I had specifically asked that, for just these reasons, we be seated in the room to the left of the checkin desk. When we arrived, there was no one being seated there so I didn't want to demand that they open that dining room. When I told the receptionist that this had happen, she put it right back on me...that I should have pushed for this seating. Why bother with a request (that could have been accommodated) when it's just going to be ignored?
