Chartfield Guesthouse

We stayed in BishopsView Villa in Kalk Bay and enjoyed every moment of it. The house is fully equipped with everything you need and more. It was very well looked after and clean.||The architecture is marvelous and we felt living in a masterpiece where the structure melts with the surrounding. The big windows allow for amazing views (including watching whales from the bedroom) and at the same time offering a lot of privacy. The pool is another feature that makes this place amazing. We used it a lot.||Besides that, the house has the most comfy beds we ever experienced in a holiday rental, it offered an office for the moments we needed to work and included some nice yoga and gym equipment to work out. There is also a steam bath, which we didn't try, but we imagine it must be amazing on colder months.||The Chartfield team was always very helpful, provided good advice on restaurants and excursions we could make. This is a 10 out of 10

Majestic Apartment. Large and comfortable rooms for 4 adults. Very secure space with onsite garage parking. This residential area is quiet, people are respectful of noise. Apartment had wonderful views to the harbour and a few steps to the main road. Ate at the on-site cafe, served good healthy menu and staff very pleasant. Enjoyed our stay. ||Check first if you are not used to stairs.

We spent the weekend here for our anniversary. What a delight! We stayed in the Amber room which had a beautiful view of the harbour and bay. Such friendly staff and amazing facilities with morning beverage room service and breakfast included. Not having to get out of our pajamas for that first cup of coffee was a cherry on the cake for me personally. There is a swimming pool with sunbeds and a beautiful terrace for morning breakfast. The location was absolutely amazing, we could explore everywhere on foot and even enjoyed a train ride to Fishhoek. Thank you to the Chartfield team, we will definitely be back.

Perched right above the Kalk Bay Harbor lies a hidden gem. A wonderful old Kalk bat house has been converted into the epitome of what reminds one of European style. Modern, clean lines and furniture greet the traveler amid a warm embrace from its staff. Wonderful view of the harbor and convenient. It's so close to the main road in Kalk Bay you can simply walk down the stairs to the main road. Parking and access at the side gate is however tight and a bit frustrating, this however is offset by the best breakfast in Cape Town. Rooms are spotless and very comfortable.

Such an amazing hotel!!!! Perfect location, we got an upgrade on our room to an ocean facing view for a very affordable upcharge, coffee’s delivered to our room, an amazing breakfast, the most kind staff. Seriously, no complaints. If you are looking go for a hotel in Kalk bay, this should be your choice.

We spent six wonderful days at Chartfield Guesthouse. From the warm welcome to the charming atmosphere, the high quality of service, the excellent breakfast (be sure to try The Bomb), the wonderful view, the refreshing pool, and the quick and easy check-out, everything was perfect! Amazing place. Perfect location, views, style and atmosphere. Great staff, service and great breakfast. Can’t say enough good things about it, it’s also great value for money.

This is one of the best places to stay in Kalk Bay - perfect location, well appointed, spacious and tastefully decorated - lovely bay windows looking over the little fishing harbour, secure. Excellent value for money.
