Senate’s Stimulus Package Renewal Allocates Billions to Restaurants | Eater

"This large national bank was criticized for prioritizing chain and larger restaurant borrowers when allocating Paycheck Protection Program loans, a practice that made it harder for smaller, independent restaurants and businesses owned by Black, Latinx, and Asian entrepreneurs to receive their fair share of funds and contributed to inequities in PPP access." - Jaya Saxena

Credit Card Portals vs Transferring Points: What You Need to Know

"I consider Chase Travel to be a bank-operated travel portal that functions like an OTA but ties bookings to your Chase card, letting you use points as a cash-like value; it offers incentives such as statement credits (for example, a $50 hotel credit on the Chase Sapphire Preferred), higher earning rates on portal bookings, and an increased point value for Chase Sapphire cardholders (1 point = 1.25 or 1.5 cents with the Preferred or Reserve), though I find portals are convenient but usually not the best value compared with transferring points to partners." - Matthew Kepnes

Disappointing experience with prolonged account opening process! I recently visited the Chase Bank branch in Broadlands, VA to open a business account for my new startup company. I submitted the account application on September 11 and have been following up since—over two months later I still haven’t received an update or final approval. Here’s a summary of what happened: September 11: I completed the account opening paperwork and provided all requested documentation. October 6: I visited the branch and emailed the branch manager (Ms. Crishaon Jones), was told the review was still in progress and I would be contacted as soon as it was done. November 6: After no communication, I again visited in person and emailed asking for an update by end of business day, but received no response or acknowledgement. Throughout this process: I made multiple phone calls, in‑person visits, and emails — yet got no timely updates, and no clear explanation about the delay. As a small business owner, I depend on timely access to banking services to operate and grow. The prolonged delay and lack of communication felt unprofessional and disengaged. I expected a larger institution like Chase to have more responsive and transparent processes. In the end I decided to withdraw my account application due to the lack of action and decided to move forward with another banking partner, and they helped me to open a business account within a couple of hours. I hope Chase takes this feedback constructively and improves its small business onboarding experience.

Today, I visited the Chase Bank branch in Ashburn, VA, and was quite disappointed with the experience. The staff appeared unprofessional and indifferent some were sitting in an arrogant manner, with no sense of customer service. Their attitude was rude and unhelpful, and I was unable to obtain any meaningful information despite my repeated efforts. It was a very unpleasant and discouraging interaction.

The staff here just sit and turn away the customers just because the customers arrive at the bank without an appointment. There are 5 cubicles and 4 staff members who were just sitting staring at their cell phones and computers were looking out through the glass doors but did not help / attend the customers. Very soon Chase Bank will have to close this branch because of this inefficient staff members and their rude customer service.

Was able to walk in without an appointment, and within 30 minutes Alex helped me resolve a fraud suspicion that had held up my credit card application.

My mother had a bad experience today with Ashley F. As soon as she asked to make a deposit, it was said she would not be able to if she didn’t have a debit card with Chase. We went to the bank to make a cash deposit, and seemed like the easy answer was “No, we ‘can’t’” instead of understanding our point of the visit. After some back and forth of trying to understand why we couldn’t make a deposit, the clerk later said she can make a deposit to a company. That was our original reason for going…why wouldn’t you just ask instead of refusing service and assuming? This seems lazy and Ashley was unapologetic. The only reason we are giving this bank 2 stars because there was a nice man who greeted at the front door. Please work on your customer service.

Great service, friendly staff. Great promotions going on. We’ve been Chase customers for years, so happy to see Chase branches coming to Va, finally!

Yelp
I only use the ATM at this bank because they allow you to choose the bill denomination. Nothing smaller than a $10 however.
