Château de Champlong

Stayed here overnight whilst travelling south. A great find and highly recommended. Friendly welcome from professional staff. Rooms well specified and maintained. Excellent restaurant - the five course tasting menu with optional wine matching is great value.

My husband & I stayed over for I night on our way down to the South.||We received a very warm welcome & were shown to a very smart bedroom with all the facilities you would expect. . ||The hotel was an excellent mix of old & new which was ideal. ||The restaurant staff were extremely welcoming & the food was superb. Brilliant value for money considering we had the 41euro menu. Some exceptional flavours. ||The staff & the couple who ran the hotel went out of their way to make us feel special.||We will certainly return.

This was a second visit & although a 3 year gap , it was just as enjoyable as before.||A warm welcome from the owners , which was really nice.||The room we had was comfortable , quiet & had everything we required for a good night’s rest.||A coffee machine is always a welcome addition.||Dinner was fantastic - beautifully presented & with some amazing flavours. Cannot praise the cuisine highly enough. Efficiently served by professional & friendly waiting staff.||Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

I did not stay at the hotel, but i did get a sneak peek into a few of the rooms while i helped the bride deliver gifts, they all looks amazing, clean and super comfortable.||I was at the Chateau de Champlong for a wedding of a dear friend. On the Friday we has a group lunch in the conservatory where they catered for my vegan diet beautifully. I was given a rich tomato pate with bread for dipping and a gorgeous fresh salad for mains. ||The wedding itself the next day was one of the most beautiful I've been to. ||Though most of the wedding was planned by an outside event company. The staff at the Chateau were amazing, very attentive and super friendly! They kept our glasses filled and our bellies full. They couldn't do enough for you.||The Chateau itself was peaceful and in a beautiful setting.

Second time second pleasure Returned almost a year after for a short stay during a business trip. This visit we had also time to try the breakfast which was really fresh and tasty. The chateau is located in a wonderful country side and worth the 15 minutes drive from Roanne. Room is wide and spacious large windows with perfect view and the shower is good as well. I believe we'll be back again...

I'm visiting Roanne for business once in a while and the hotels in the city are really basic and dull (except Troisgros which is great but very pricy, above €300/night). The hotel is 10 minutes drive from the city into a picturesque country side Chateau. ||We had a very short stay so we didn't had the time to enjoy the hotel too much. ||||BUT, service was amazing and efficient (my friend realize that he forgot his passport in the previous hotel, and the owner took care of everything for us quickly and very efficiently) and the room is very spacious the bed is large and very good for sleep...

We visited the Chateau for a lunchtime meal with barge friends. The chateau is the epitome of past magnificence combined with tasteful modern refurbishments. We had a more than three course lunch meal, which was delicious, teamed with extraordinary wine from their special cellar. Veronique is charming, the service excellent, and then met Olivier, the chef and Veronique's husband.||It was a real treat, and when we return next year, we will be back!

The hotel might be a good for spa traveler and not for business traveler; I stayed in 2nd floor and the noise from people in down stair can easily heard from my room. The restaurant dinner is superb and recommended to try. The staff is good and other than receptionist, not many can speak english.

Je ne parle pas beaucoup en français.. One of the best dining experiences of my life. We were given a private room, with a beautiful view of the moon. The restaurant was beautiful, the grounds were well-manicured, and the service was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Merci beacoup, tout le monde!

A truly wonderful fine dining experience. We selected a four course meal with selected wines for each course. That made our experience simple and deferred choices to more knowledgeable persons. The ambiance was beautiful, the service impeccable and the food was simply marvelous, especially the blueberry, chocolate, mint dessert that was to die for.
