Château de Cîteaux - La Cueillette

"Japanese chef Takashi Kinoshita invites you to enjoy a meal in the elegant and refined setting of the château's authentic 19C Grand Salon – the epitome of classicism (moulding, giltwork and a fresco depicting an allegory of Love). His single set menu (which can be adapted to suit your preferences) is composed of a fine culinary symphony of French ingredients (some local), which are given a contemporary spin and imbued with the odd Asian touch: line-caught sea bass and Coco haricot beans (with a wonderful shellfish emulsion); lamb from Aube with Burgundy truffles." - Michelin Inspector

Château de Cîteaux - Bistrot La Cueillette

"This bistro is a hearty alternative to chef Takashi Kinoshita's fine dining restaurant. It has made itself right at home in the vaulted space that once housed the château kitchens, which still have their period fireplace. Traditional cuisine, meticulously prepared using carefully selected ingredients, is served at lovely wooden tables: pressed ratatouille, slow-cooked egg and balsamic vinaigrette; pan-fried salmon with a mustard sauce. Laid-back atmosphere." - Michelin Inspector

A stunning former chateau. beautiful grounds and views. Demian was so incredibly helpful and jolly. we had a flat tyre and he really helped us sort it without any hesitation. Dining room is exquisitely decorated with a period painted ceiling and huge marble fireplace really not to be missed. Its an easy walk into Mersault 7 minutes or so, where there are a few shops and restaurants, many closed first part of the week. Our room was a jr suite spacious and comfortable, with a fridge, coffee maker and kettle. Some of the rooms had a terrace which would have liked. There was a bath with a shower over it, but no curtain or screen so not easy to use. we didnt use the spa but looked nice. Ample parking. Nice grounds for a stroll. Breakfast not included and was quite expensive so we didnt have it.

We booked a Junior Suite, but the room was nothing like the photos. The view was directly onto the hotel parking lot, and the placement of the room made no sense for such a high-tier category.||Although there was another room available with a better outlook, the staff refused to move us, saying it was reserved for guests arriving next week – while we were staying for just one night.||For the price paid, the quality of the space, the view, and the overall service were clearly not worth it. A very disappointing experience for what is advertised as a luxury stay.

We had a lovely meal at Château de Cîteau (party of 10). The food and service were excellent and the grand dining room is stunning. We finished the evening with drinks on the balcony overlooking the vines and village of Meursault. A very memorable evening.

The building and its neighbourhood are fantastic… And the staff is nice… But that’s it!||The room are worst than at a Campanille… With no A/C, no shower and not even soap to wash you hands!||Not to mention the disgusting and impossible to identify snails in a green puree, to eat the « lemon risotto » with a fork (a soup alike liquid made with standard rice) or to smallow the way to salty « cannette »…||Not to mention that we have waited until the meal was almost over to get water and wine (after asking many times)!

Very nice location in a historic castle like building. The staff is doing a great job and we loved to stay there for two nights. Wonderful to enjoy breakfast on the terrasse.

Our stay at Château de Cîteaux - La Cueillette was absolutely wonderful! The location is stunning, surrounded by beautiful vineyards and serene landscapes. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The room was spacious, elegant, and well-maintained, with lovely views. The spa was a highlight—so relaxing and rejuvenating. Perfect for a peaceful getaway or exploring Burgundy’s charm. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed at hotel la cueillette on 3 and 4 Sep'24. The front desk staff (both day and night shift) were absolutely phenomenal. Not only did they provide fantastic vineyard and restaurant recommendations, they were also very helpful in helping us arranging the tours / visits. They made our stay so enjoyable. Very genuine, lovely people with exceptional service. The Château itself was very quaint, and in great condition. Breakfast was very good (even with free champagne!)

Since staying here for 2 nights we have been bombarded daily for a reviews. We decided to oblige, this is it.|Meursault is a pretty town, the La Cuiellette Spa & hotel is attractive, well located & with reasonable parking.|The staff are efficient & friendly, Gaëlle on reception in particular. Initially we were not given the room booked. This was corrected after discussion. The room had unpleasant smoking odours which cleared after the first day. Unlike their description we would not classify the hotel as one of luxury but is very pleasant. Bedding, towels, toiletries provided are not in the luxurious class but perfectly adequate. If you book a room with a balcony that has a parasol stand, please ensure it has one. That it " was blown away sometime earlier" is unacceptable in 25+deg temperatures. |For us the check in time is too late, rooms are not ready until 4pm. Not getting the room booked added further delay.|Considerable emphasis is placed on the hotel restaurants, either the gastronomic or the Bistro. |We used the Bistro on our first night. The service was good, it was busy, the food was ok, from a not unreasonably limited menu.|Next day, due to a health issue we, at 9am had to cancel our booking for the gastronomic restaurant. After another discussion a most unreasonable cancellation charge of €178 was waived. As the day passed the health issue improved. At 4pm we were unable to rebook, the restaurant was now fully booked. That was our misfortune, Gaëlle resolved the problem with another reservation for the Bistro. On that evening it was even busier & had just one ultra efficient waiter serving the entire restaurant. The menu had not changed from the previous night.|We did not use the Spa. We did not eat in but did observe the Gastronomic restaurant. An impressive room, a special menu and very smart waiters. Perhaps some form of dress code such as smart causal should apply? Clientele in shorts, trainers and T shirts clashed with the aspirations.|Breakfast, served in the gastronomic restaurant was excellent & available from 8am to 10am. To summarise a pleasant hotel that did not quite attain our expectations.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our three day stay at Hotel La Cueillette! Can't recommend enough if you plan to stay in Meursault. Hotel was a nice mix of oldworld french wine country decor (grand dining room, chateau layout) with modern rooms and beautiful views -- you can purchase wine produced from the vineyards on the property. The rooms themselves are modern and comfortable, with nice bathrooms and nice bed. The restaurant is really great for both breakfast and lunch / dinner. The food is really fresh -- lots of produce grown onsite. If eating dinner and the weather is nice, try to eat outside on the terrace and catch a sunset. Also they have bikes for your use! Definitely borrow one and bike out through the veloroute to some of the neighboring towns. This is a must-do in Meursault. The hospitality of the staff was outstanding. Really lovely people who took such good care of us. We had a couple of silly mishaps (bike accidents, taxis not showing up when they were supposed to) and the staff went above and beyond. When I fell off my bike, the hotel picked me up off the veloroute and brought me back to the hotel. When our taxi did not show up to take us to the Beaune train station early in the morning, the hotel owner drove us to the train station in his car!
