Château de Courban & Spa Nuxe - Château Hôtel en Bourgogne

We had a wonderful one night stay in this beautiful little historic chateaux / boutique hotel. |Patricia the receptionist was superbly welcoming, helpful and friendly and all the hotel and restaurant staff were equally welcoming. |Patricia upgraded our room. We had a beautiful room with a courtyard view and a massive bathroom with a central freestanding bath and separate shower and toilet cabinets. |We had a look at another slightly smaller room “classic room” which was also beautiful. |The attached restaurant is spectacular - Michelin starred. This was expensive but truly sensational and memorable. |We have booked again for the return leg of our journey!

This was the 2nd stay at this amazing hotel. We had a fantastic room with a huge bathroom, everything was thought of. Our evening was exceptional, from Apero with stunning Canapés to our meal. The food was excellent, every course a ‘ taste experience’ & served by exceptional staff. How wonderful to have a ‘ cheese trolley’ - not found often nowadays. We picked a white Mercurey wine which we loved. A big Thank you to all the staff & Patricia , who welcomed us & was charming. We will be back.

We were recommended the Chateau by some friends of ours, who had stayed on their way to the UK. Set in a small village it is an attractive proposition. Our room was large with an equally large bathroom. Most of the interior had been refurbished some 25 years ago, and whilst everything was there you would expect from a 300+ euro per night location, it did feel a little contrived and a little dated. However, everything worked and we used everything we could.||We ate at the highly rated restaurant early, as we were travelling with more to come. We both opted for the full 7 course taster menu, which was very good indeed. Having said that we felt the 3 additional courses up front were a little over the top and nearly prevented us getting through the entire experience,||Breakfast was exceptional, with everything one could imagine and more. Hosted by a delightfully friendly waitress whose happiness exuded from her like the sunshine.||Overall it was a positive experience. We did not use the spa or the pools as it was pretty cold. ||Good|Location, restaurant, facilities, attentiveness of the staff.||Not so good|The bedroom could benefit from a quality refurb, with more thought to the current day traveller (charging points accessible next to the bed etc.) It felt a bit 1980s peak moment and originally converted on a tight budget.||The green faux grass around the spa.||The pond areas at the front were in need of more water and looked rather sad.||The cups in the bedroom did not match the saucers!! ||The bikes we requested were not available which was a disappointment. Turns out they were being fixed and not being used by other guests.||Both the hotel and restaurant could do with some real art. Both were full of chickens on sticks and items designed to fill space than sooth the soul.

We had a truly lovely one night stay in this boutique hotel in a historic small chateau in a charming little village. Very welcoming and friendly staff. The rooms are big, the beds comfortable and bathrooms beautifully laid out.

We had a gorgeous stay at Château de Courban, with a wonderful spa experience and an outstanding meal. We booked the Courban package, which included couples’ spa access with a treatment, along with the seven-course tasting menu. The spa was intimate but beautifully equipped, and the dinner was truly memorable—each course brought new flavours and surprises.||Our room, located at the back of the property, was well maintained and traditionally decorated. The grounds and pool area were also a pleasure to explore, adding to the charm of the stay. Throughout our visit, the hotel staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel very well looked after.||A delightful experience all round—highly recommended.

Having stayed at the chateau several times now I can safely say that we enjoy our visits. Situated in a tiny village convenient for the motorway, and surrounded by beautiful countryside, chateau de Courban is a lovely complex of old and new with outdoor swimming pools and a great restaurant. The rooms are well appointed and maintained with good bathrooms. Excellent breakfast, safe parking and pet friendly.

Unfortunately we arrived much later than planned, so weren't able to take advantage of the facilities, as we had hoped. Nevertheless we were made to feel welcome - our room was very comfortable - and the setting is great! If we travel that way again, we would definitely revisit - but make sure we get there in plenty of time!

Great small-ish sized hotel, that is dog friendly! Situated in a rural French village we have this stunning château, converted into a small-medium hotel with spa. We had a great time there. The staff speak fluent English, whilst I speak a tiny bit of French. The spa treatments were excellent and the restaurant was amazing! Would come back again. Many thanks!
