Exploring Provence's Luberon Valley By Bike (and Car, and Foot)

"The Château de Lacoste stands majestically overlooking the Luberon Valley. Its rich history and breathtaking views make it a must-visit spot. The wine tasting experience here is second to none, offering a true taste of Provence." - Sophie Friedman

Read up on this, the REAL Chateau de Lacoste before you visit, such an interesting story, from the home of the Marquisbde Sade, to a ruin, then resurrected by a local, and then purchased by Pierre Cardin as the fashion center of the south. Now largely occupied by SCAD an American art school. Wow what a history! A fun place to visit for the day.

Great place to visit. Very clean and looks like folks are working hard to either restore or keep it up. Low crowds compared to the other cities.

Beautiful little village, with its long history and cobbled streets. Worth a stop to see where the infamous Marquis de Sade once resided. Steep climb up to the Chateau in the hot sunshine. (There is a road that leads to the chateau itself, we discovered once we climbed up) Unfortunately the place was closed but the views are beautiful.

Spectacular views from magnificent buildings, augmented by a lovely lunch on site

Not a lot to see here. Some good views and picture opportunities but goto the Chateau at Les Baux instead.

Interesting visit of the home of a controversial historical figure.

The city at the foot of the castle is beautiful. The castle itself is a ruin, not necessarily beautiful…

Beautiful view but castle cannot be visited, too bad.
