We drove from the Netherlands on holiday to visit this castle, unfortunately we were not allowed in with our two small, very well trained dogs. We would have loved to walk the gardens, it's such a pity the French do not welcome dogs in their culture, yet children are welcome. The place looks very beautiful from the outside.

The chateau is very beautiful as well as the gardens. It is really worth a one day excursion if you are close. Recommended.

Wonderful palace. Beautifully presented and magnificent gardens. Well worth a visit. Spent about an hour as with a tour group. There are many areas in gardens to sit and relax so easy to spend longer.

A beautiful chateau and lovely well kept gardens. Staff were very friendly and their English was spot on. Lots of history all explained as you walk around the chateau. I would probably allow 1-2hrs to take in everything.

Visited the gardens.Beautifully laid out formal french gardens. Huge folly there too. Six million euros were wasted recreating a roman aqueduct. Was never finished and showed the profligacy of the Sun King Louis XiV

Perfect. We stayed in a very spacious, clean and well appointed 2 bedroom apartment in this glorious old mansion house. A wonderful breakfast on a first floor terrace overlooking a garden. Very convenient for the city centre, cathedral etc.
