We absolutely loved our stay at the Chateau de Montcaud. We stayed for a few days during our honeymoon and could not have been more thrilled. The Chateau is located quite centrally to many of the towns in Provence making it an ideal the location. Both restaurants were lovely. We used the included bike rental to go to one of the many gorgeous towns nearby. Overall, a wonderful experience. We cannot wait to return!

This is a lovely hotel with excellent food and the staff are without exception, outstanding. The Michelin restaurant was preparing to open on the first of May, so we were enjoying the bistro menu. We came as a large group and had a choice of two starters mains, and desserts every night - with no pre ordering. The restaurant manager controlled everything with eagle eye and a touch of humour. The sommelier (Mehdi - forgive me if I have spelt this incorrectly) was outstandingly knowledgeable and provided us during the course of our week, with variety of very largely local wines. ||One evening our group was invited for champers and canapés before dinner - what a simply lovely touch - this place really is one of a very unique kind. Nothing was too much trouble and we will certainly be going back next year if our group and the hotel agree. So please read my comments below with this in mind. We had a lovely week, and I really hope our group returns next year.||In my view these days there should however be a third and vegetarian choice on any menu. Despite both the leader of our group and the delightful Concierge mentioning this, little was done to provide a veggie dish for my wife that was not either veggie ingredients picked from the meat/fish choices. i.e. vegetables and potatoes, or that we could do at home. One night the main was mainly potatoes. Even the risotto was under the salmon main course. My wife and I too employed Michelin star chefs for many, many, years and perhaps have an idea of what is possible.||The grounds to are lovely and we could see the gardener fighting the weeds and readying things for the season ahead.||We were in room 20 and my only humble suggestion might be a touch more wardrobe space. The bedroom itself as large, airy and could not be faulted for cleanliness. Views over the grounds and a large bathroom with excellent shower and lovely toiletries. Oh, and the bed - super large and sublime duvets and linen. Superb housekeeping.||A venture like this (and why wife and I have done similar) is a continual work in progress and I mention the above in recognition of that, and, wish the owners all the very best as they work and strive to create their very special kind vision, and make it come true. This is one very, very special place.

Rooms could have been better for the price and stars. Very basic. Food was so-so we had breakfast and dinner. 2 star Michelin restaurant didn't feel very worth it. Hard to reach Pool is great Some fig trees in the area A small walkable route around the property.

We stayed at the exquisite Chateau de Montcaud for three long, glorious sunlit days in July 2024. What can we say? Perfection, perfection, perfection. ||We were greeted on arrival by Julyane, the concierge. Julyane was one of the main highlights of our stay. Charming, welcoming, kind and very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. His first words to us were. “You can relax now. We will look after you. “ … And they did. ||Breakfast and dinner in the Bistro. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Dinner at Le Cedre was beyond compare and should not be missed. And for a 1 star Michelin restaurant it was very good value. ||The poolside service was perfect. Unobtrusively. |I’ve attached photos but it does not do this beautiful building and fine, fine service justice. ||We will definitely be returning next year for a repeat. ||Wonderful, don’t hesitate to come here. ||We stayed in a privilege room. Bed very comfortable and air conditioning very efficient - and we were here in a heatwave. Everything was immaculate.

Charming staff and a very warm welcome despite arriving at midnight due to intense storms near Dijon. Delicious plate of Hams and Cheeses as we had missed dinner.|Rooms very comfortable if a little stark, lovely grounds, very dog friendly and a truly memorable meal the following evening in their one michelin star restaurant.|All in all a perfect stay.

Lovely in every way. Staff superb, rooms so comfortable promoting a great night's sleep, and a lovely pool to cool off on the very hot days. They provided great e-bikes for touring the countryside. And the restaurant was perfect, quiet, excellent outdoor dining.

Beautiful property with friendly staff, but lacks important details for top-class status. Chateau and gardens slightly rundown and atmosphere is missing ambiance. Room amenities are also minimal for a five-star hotel. Good overall, but expected more for price and category.

We spent a lovely week at the Chateau de Montcaud. The hotel is beautifully presented, recently refurbished, stylish and relaxing. We chose to stay in La Maison, which is a cottage in the grounds. It meant that we had the best of both worlds, as it is a well appointed self catering cottage with access to all the hotel facilities. It was the perfect size for us and our teenage son. Both bedrooms and the kitchen/sitting room had silent air conditioning which was a huge relief from the hot summer sun. The hotel swimming pool was very welcome, well maintained and heated to a blissful 28 degrees. There was plenty of room around the pool on comfortable loungers. You can also borrow electric bikes, play tennis, ping pong, football or boules. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed ambience and serves great food (only the bistro was open when we were there). Don’t miss the Sunday brunch; a buffet of amazing food with live jazz. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a memorable and enjoyable stay.
